Friendly staff, very attentive. Clean place to eat and has an open kitchen which you can look into. Get your own drinks on the cash counter and they will bring the food out to you. I had the leaf wrapped bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious! Juicy moist meat with crispy bacon and melted cheddar cheese. Yum! I got to try the chopped salad as well.. Perfectly tossed salads and not drenched in dressing. I ate with a couple of people and we shared the "sampler". It has fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. Very reasonable in pricing. I'm a diehard fan of True Burger, but not of the time it takes me to get there and back at lunch when I have crazy clients who have deadlines they expect me to meet. So tried Park Burger (also like to support local biz, truly in my 'hood). A close second to True Burger. Tasty burger, great pickled onions and dill pickles, and solid cheese options - forget American, I want cheddar, and they have it! Only thing missing was the garlic aoili I've come to love at True. Ambiance more relaxed and a little darker than True, which is actually great - more places to sit, nice tables and cool aluminum chairs, and lots of tall bar-like seating that's perfect for a solo diner just in for a great burger. I can't eat gluten, but they do a great lettuce wrap that holds up. Friendly service, fair pricing - I'll be back! read more

Park Burger is one of the many things I miss about Oakland. The burgers are all made from locally-sourced, ethically-raised, grass-fed beef, and are just the most flavorful, delicious burgers around. They are available in just about every style imaginable. I'd also recommend the Arugula salad as a low-impact alternative to the fries (which are also amazing...) Definitely good burgers at this spot...and the fact that you can check where all your food is coming from (local/sustainable/organic/good ole hippy style/etc etc) is pretty awesome... onto the food....got the garibay...meat is cooked well, just as i asked, med-rare although they default to medium so if u don't want med make sure u mention it...i personally could have appreciated a LIL more seasoning on the meat bun - fresh, nicely toasted fixings - all fresh, seems like homeade pickles which gets bonus points! got the burger with a fried egg and bacon... bacon - DELICIOUS...cooked nice and crispy egg - sooooo....here's the fallout...i was a little torn on this...on the one hand, a fried egg on almost anything is absolutely wonderful...the egg is cooked great...which is also the problem...because when i consider a great egg is one that still has a runny yoke...now...this is all good for breakfast when u get to slop up the runny yokey goodness with ur potatos or toast or something...when ur trying to hold ur burger and the yoke starts 'leaking' (is that the right term...sounds kinda gross when related to food)...the yoke breaks and starts dripping down the burger, down ur hands in what is kind of a not-so-classy-hope-ur-not-on-a-date kinda way...this...is the one problem i had with the food...runny yoke in a burger is kinda...NOT the business... As a meat lover, I'm torn between loving meat (eating it!) and making choices that support sustainable and local farms, and feeding cows what they were meant to be fed (grass!) At Park Burger, I can do both! Burgers and fries are delicious and cooked to order and the meat is local (Marin Sun Farms grass fed beef). Prices are great, especially considering how much better quality the food you're eating is. Setting is very casual, order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Also: be patient! I've been looking for places that serve grass fed burgers since they are less fatty, more sustainable and taste better! So, I love that they feature grass fed meat and also that you can get a lettuce wrap if you're following a Paleo/Primal diet. -The burgers are juicy and perfectly cooked and I love the side of pickled red onions that they come with. -Excellent curated selection of local beers. Found this place looking for a gourmet burger joint closer to home, preferably one with gluten-free buns since the wife is GF. Was pleased to find a place that meets those criteria, and uses sustainable, hormone-free meat to boot. Their burgers are perfect - cooked to order, juicy, flavorful. They're not huge, but with fries they make a reasonable (not excessive) meal. They have a good list of options that offers most of the standards you'd see in another restaurant, although I'd like to see an option with salsa or guac, jack cheese, and maybe bacon. I had the TNT burger, it had a little heat but didn't burn my face off. Fries were good, they had regular and sweet potato. They serve microbrew and wine. Staff was really nice. The place itself is in a nice area, seemed welcoming to families, was busy when we were there. Outdoor seating a huge plus. Parking can be challenging in the area at peak times. One star deducted for the price, I shouldn't pay $30 for two burgers and two orders of fries. read more

I really wanted to like this spot but I just can't. My first mistake was I ordered my food to go and I didn't check it when I picked it up. I ordered a The King Solomon Burger(chicken), The Duke Burger and the sampler. The KSB was over fried to the point where it taste burnt, it was extremely dry and didn't have much flavor at all. The DB was over cooked not seasoned and the meat literally crumbled when I bit it. The sampler was just ok. If you want a good burger I would not recommend this place. read more

I was excited to try this place, but unfortunately, my neighborhood burger spot will unlikely be revisited by me for awhile. I'll give it another try, but now "when" becomes the question. Physically, it's uninspiring, with WAY too much of a view into an antiseptic, nothing-to-look at kitchen. Who wants to see that? The chairs are uncomfortable. There is no big menu above the counter (which the space clearly calls for), so you have to grab a paper menu from the counter at the front of the line. Also, it looks really piss-poor for the cashier to be sitting on a super-tall stool at the register behind a low counter. Something about it just doesn't look right. They seem to err on a lot of orders. I asked for no aoli, and my burger came with it. Table next to us had an incorrect bacon situation with a burger. My bun was uninspiring, tasteless, and my burger patty was thin, its flavor lost within the construct of the burger. It's not nearly in the same league with True Burger and even Flipburger (not to mention Chop Bar). The plain burger is $7 and it goes up from there, so I'd except a bit more quality. My wife had a Portobello burger on the cashier's suggestion, but it was 1) charred and 2) gummy inside. It taste a bit odd, too. The bun was more of a ciobatta roll and better than the hamburger bun, but it soaked up the char/grease of the Portobello, which cancelled out its pluses. The wood paneling is cool, the huge Oakland map on one of the long walls is way cool, although the other long wall is drab as can be and gives the place an overall drab feel. Two TVs hanging from opposite ends of the ceiling are a plus for sports viewing, but let's hope they know when A's/Giants/Warriors/Sharks/etc. are on -- or at least quickly put them on when someone asks. It seems like a bunch of dodos are working there, the kind of people who would have a TV on ESPN snowboarding with no clue that a Warriors game is on CSN. read more

We're not usually driving through the Lower Hills neighborhood but Park Burger was a pleasant surprise. We had the Bacon & Cheese burger and the Neyser. Both were well executed. Good meat, crisp bacon, & well toasted buns show that these guys know what they're doing when it comes to burgers. Service was very good too. First time at park burger and it was a delicious moment. Hands down best burger I had. I had the TNT burger which was awesome! I devoured it. The sample was amazing because you get to try a little of everything of the sweet potato fries, French fries, and the onion rings. I have to say these were one of the best onion rings I've had. It's extra crispy and the breading doesn't fall off. The salad is healthy and great. The left side of the wall when entering inside the restaurant is beautifully drawn of the streets of Oakland. Best burger I've ever had. Every time I go here. I am a lover of burgers, and also a very picky eater. If it's not done just right, I won't eat it. These guys know their burgers!!! The fries are delicious as well, and so are the milkshakes. The onion rings also are wonderful. It is rare to find a restaurant I've been to regularly that doesn't seem to have an off night. I've never been let down by Park Burger. Two downsides: 1. Not exactly a cheap burger place, I get a classic burger with bacon, a side of fries and a soda and we're talkin' like $15 bucks. Burgers we ordered had lots of fresh delicious ingredients but the meat was bland. Disappointing for the price.

I went to pick up a couple of burgers on a Saturday evening around 6. The woman who was serving people at the door with their orders was wearing her mask *without* covering her nose. I looked inside while she was grabbing her order, and at least one of the people working the kitchen was also working without covering his nose with the mask. I want to support this business -- they're good, they're local, they support my kid's school. But they need to get their public health act together. I'm sympathetic to how much it must suck to work all day in the masks, especially when it's hot. But this is a major problem in the midst of the pandemic. read more

A sampling of several shared burgers and I can say the blue cheese is my favorite. Burger was fairly priced for the quality - fries portion was a bit small and soft drink price was a bit high. Very nice people - I'm rooting for them. Operationally, a little screwy - brought me the wrong order the first time, then brought it out without the fries, then saw some fries going out to someone else who ordered after me, then got my fries. Saw six people working behind the counter - seemed like a lot compared to the number of customers. My favorite burger joint in the Bay. They have the best turkey burger oou there that I have gotten around to, and they always have it. They also have a delicious garlic fry, but me personally, prefer the plain fries. Really quick experience I wanted to share was once while there, we ordered our food to go, and while we were getting ready to leave the bag dropped out of my hands and food on the floor. They had done their job in preparing the food for us, and we paid. Despite the apparent situation though, they did not hesitate to make is another meal. That's great customer service, which sometimes, not in this case, can compensate for subpar food. However don't get it twisted, the food is delicious, and my wife loves their impossible burger, and my daughter, who is sometimes about beef, loves their regular burger.
