Wow, amazing in some respect how Jersey diners have fallen off. Thankfully, this diner proves that they very much are alive and well. I went here with my family as we wanted to go somewhere for brunch and Comfi had a pretty long wait. Considering my mother works in the area she knows this diner well. It is jam packed with customers, but we thankfully did not have to wait too long for a table. We each got breakfast and lunch items. I got French toast, my mother a quesadilla, my father a wrap, and my sister an omelette. Despite the slow service, the food was tasty and came out in a generous portion. I only wished my French toast came with more than just being alone, but the three large pieces it is served with makes up for no sides. I will definitely return here, even as a solo diner. Whenever I visit a new diner, I have a rule that I MUST order a burger and fries - as that is my barometer of finding a great diner. This cheeseburger deluxe was amazing! The patty was oversized and perfectly maximized the bun to burger ratio. It had an enjoyable grill taste, which was enhanced by the cool lettuce and tomato. I asked for crispy fries, and that's exactly how they came out. We dropped in on a Saturday around noon and our server was Trish; even though she was hustling from table to table, she still made time to be extremely polite, attentive, and kind. Went to Park Place Diner in Aberdeen, NJ on Thanksgiving. A party of 6 our server was Vincent and he was not on his A GAME. Most people's food came out except one and that finally came out 25 minutes later, while others ate. My friend had it wrapped to go since everyone else was done. Vinny never came back to refill our drinks, we were thirsty. I will never go back there again, he was not a good server. If it were up to me he wouldn't get a good tip. So if anyone goes to Park Place Diner in Aberdeen, make sure you don't get Vinny as a server. Ugh read more

My boyfriend & I ate dinner in this diner on Thursday night. He ordered a shrimp salad platter, which was good. I ordered a brisket sandwich on rye bread. The brisket was so chewy. I looked in the slices of the meat & saw it had fat in the brisket. It was gross. The fat made it chewy. I should have sent back the brisket but I didn't. I decided to stop at the Park Place diner in Matawan. It's located right across from Aberdeen Shopping Center, and the Town Square Diner. Atmosphere: The atmosphere of the Park Place Diner is typical of a modern diner. It's not metallic or shiny, but a nice modern building.   The front door is located next to the dessert case as well as a bar. Inside, there are plenty of booths and tables.  Apparently, it's a great local spot to hold a business meeting.  Coffee: The coffee was brewed hot and fresh, and the waitress refilled it often. Food: The menu at the Park Place Diner is massive, and they have everything from breakfast, lunch, and dinner specials. They also serve everything all day long, which is nice.   I decided to order the farmers omelet, which came with pancakes. The Farmers Omelet was stuffed with Ham, Onion, Peppers, Potatoes and Cheddar Cheese. It had the most cheese I've seen in an omelet. Ordering pancakes at a diner can always be risky. I've had good pancakes, but I've also had bad, flat, pancakes. The pancakes at the Park Place Diner were light and fluffy and tasted good. I was pleased! Service: The waitress was one of the friendliest waitresses I've had recently. Even though the Park Place Diner was busy, she made sure to refill my coffee, and the food came out quickly. Unfortunately our experience was marred by poor service and a messed up breakfast order. First, our server was extremely pushy and inconsiderate. I understand you want to keep the ordering process moving to turn over tables and get customers through, but I was there with my near 90-year old grandfather visiting from out of state, trying to have a conversation when he is very hard of hearing. This waitress told us to "order now and talk later" after we had just ordered our drinks and hasn't looked at the menu. Second, after the check came, and my elderly grandfather was still finishing his coffee and while we were still talking she came by and insisted we close out - it had been less than 10 minutes since we'd finished our meal. She then proceeded to complain to the booth next to us about customers who sit and talk after their meals....This isn't NYC, it's the Jersey burbs, and the place was not nearly as busy by the time we finished our meal. I didn't have high expectations when I walked in with my sister, considering everyone stared at us for a good minute before they had the novel idea of asking us if we wanted to sit. We went there looking for an alternative to IHOP. Got there before 10 am on a saturday. It has the normal diner vibe. i was pleasantly surprised that there was minimal waiting. I went here to have breakfast for my birthday with my son was three years old because he was. sitting down kicking his feet and I'm on the bottom. He was sitting down on his iPad. Now another story woman comes up to me and tells my son you need to stop kicking the chair. I was so uncomfortable she made me cry, I was so uncomfortable to even stay there and eat my food I left and at this point I didn't even eat my food took two bites out of it and told him that I refuse to even pay I was treated horribly. I don't recommend families with kids to go there. They are very rude, they ruined my whole birthday. I went home crying sobbing. I have gone in more restaurants that I can't even count in my life. This was the only place that I've ever felt this way never in my life have I ever felt uncomfortable at a restaurant because of my children I've seen kids out of control at restaurants. My son was just sitting down on his iPad just because he was kicking. For a late breakfast on New Year's Day, my family decided to try out Park Place Diner as it is really close to home. The diner was extremely busy as their large parking lot was nearly full. Somewhat of a pancake junkie, I was craving some for lunch and thankfully my order of buttermilk pancakes was excellent. Cooked spot on to a nice slightly browned and golden hue they were moist, fresh, and fluffy. You can use 0whatever positive adjectives for pancakes to describe them. Nice to see that a creamy whipped butter was supplied as well. Though my one negative was that the blueberries weren't all that fresh with a fair number of them being overripe and wrinkled. Mom's "Everything" Omelette was cooked exactly the way she wanted which is a tad above done. All of the ingredients were fresh and the eggs were seasoned nicely too. Home fries were cooked properly to a crisp toasty exterior and hot moist interior. She particularly like the slightly charred and chunky texture of the potatoes. Sister had the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and home fries. She remarked on how tasty the corned beef was and that the scrambled eggs were fresh and seasoned well. Again the home fries were cooked on point. When walking in I spied the pastry display case and noticed several really fresh looking cakes and pies, so after finishing our lunch dishes we chose to indulge in dessert and try out the banana cream pie. The pie slice didn't look too pretty when it was presented to us (looked to have been sliced a bit roughly, though cream pies are hard to slice evenly), but tasting the first spoonful I was very very happy to taste some really smooth & rich cream and fresh banana slices embedded inside said cream. Coupled with a cup of the surprisingly robust coffee, it was a really nice way to conclude lunch. Overall we all left quite happy with a very solid breakfast for lunch. read more

I've definitely heard plenty about New Jersey's famous diners, so I decided to finally try one out for a late dinner (~9:00PM). Park Place is a large establishment with plenty of booths as well as tables and a bar. The menu is similarly expansive with items ranging from all-day breakfast to burgers and sandwiches to dive bar fare. I decided to try the Pizza Burger, a concoction that involves melted slabs of mozzarella and dollops of marinara sauce. For $7.50 (the deluxe price which comes w/ tomato, lettuce, pickle, cole slaw, and fries), you get a very generous portion. The burger itself is an 8 oz. slab of meat while the sides are all plentiful as well. The plate, to be frank, was huge. Unfortunately, size cannot always make up for quality. Overall, my burger lacked flavor and the accoutrements did little to liven up my palate. For a pizza burger that held so much promise, I was left feeling a bit unsatisfied. Service-wise, Park Place servers are generally warm and inviting, but my party was given the awkward cold shoulder upon walking in... and no one came by to refill our waters even though I saw servers just hanging out by the register. I understand it was late (-ish because they are, after all, open til 3am on weekends), but it was strange to flag down servers just for water. Overall, you pretty much get what you pay for. I think there are possible diamonds among the rough landscape of a very expansive menu, so I'm sure another late night of not wanting to cook will draw me back to Park Place diner. read more

If I could give this place a 0 star I would. I am writing this more for the owner then for the patrons. I went on 8/4/22 and sat with my family for breakfast. I've gone here a handful of times because of location to my home. Food is mediocre and service is fine. On this specific day the host got annoyed with another waitress and went off on her using profanity stomping his feet in and out of the diner. He had a mean mug on his face the rest of the meal. I complained to the waitress (who was very nice) and she said she'd look into comping the meal. However, those above her said no. They came over and offered a dessert. A dessert? I don't want another meal to be there longer and witness lack of professionalism and common courtesy. You have lost a customer. And I wish that the owner saw this behavior and addresses it. Employees are representative of your brand. This experience was annoying and I wish I never paid for it as it was extremely unpleasant. read more

Great diner that serves from early in the morning until late at night. A full menu with breakfast specials that are reasonable. They also have rotating lunch and dinner specials daily which are complete meals. They have an early bird menu they call a mini-menu served before 6PM which is a smaller portion of many dishes from the dinner menu. Often you have to wait for seating. I think that the majority of the customers are repeat customers. Most items are cheap by Yelp's definition. Some dinner specials creep into the moderate range (over $11), but cheap for the quality and quantity you get. The one complaint that I have is they have a terrible hamburger roll!
