What really turned me off was the service. I came here with a friend on a weeknight when it wasn't busy at all, and there were several waiters there who were just standing around. Awful, just awful. We asked for three simple items, a burger, potato skins and a hotdog. They screwed up all three. Burger had been under a heat lamp so long the cheese was translucent, potato skins had so much cheese sauce you couldn't see the potato. This diner has now become one of the worst in NJ. Since the pandemic it has removed inclusive desserts from its specials menu. Does not automatically give you bread when ordering full dinners ( you must request it) reduced portion sizes. The food quality has gone down. Raised prices ridiculously. Changed its staff to non experienced unfriendly people and imposed a credit card surcharge. The owners are also very rude when approached for anything outside the ordinary. Have eaten here twice now on my home from North Jersey! It's your typical diner food with a wide selection to choose from! They also have a bar if you feel like a drink and a wide selection of desserts. My husband is still talking about the size of the piece of pie they served with our dinner specials we ordered. There was a little riff raff behind the bar counter btw two servers, but after a few minutes we realized they were just joking with each other. They were loud throughout our meal. It must be said: I don't exactly go to a diner to be culinarily wowed. I go for a no-frills large breakfast accompanied by orange juice and coffee and maybe for the occasional piece of pie. And the service is not bad and am always greeted by a smile by the person in charge of seating, whether it's a host, manager, etc. However, I had a craving one night for spanikopita aka Greek spinach pie - blame it on the Greek in me. The only place that would have at 10:00 at night would be the diner. But I have to admit, it exceeded expectations. It's the nearest I can find to my dad's recipe, which is saying something. The filo dough was nice and flaky, flavors were nicely on point. Portion was perfect size; $8 is a little much, but hey, it's pretty good. I'd even go out of my way to pick up a piece. While visiting friends in the neighborhood we decided to have diner food for dinner. I can't say this is the best diner I've been to but I can definitely say it was one of the worst. Upon walking in we were greeted by management with the only puss on their faces no smile kind of like I don't want to be here so you shouldn't be either. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger medium well with the cheese melted on the bread which was stale what I received was an over cooked hockey puck with leather seasoning and one slice of bacon. Huge variety of menu selections. I use to go here much more when I worked in the area. Very consistent food and open for your late night munchies on Friday and Saturday night. I asked for waffle fries and got regular fries, I had the pork sandwich and it was disgusting and full of fat, we asked for pickles and had no pickles, my boyfriend had the cheesesteak and it had 1 slab of dry meat and tasted just as nasty. She is right we had a terrific meal last night period I thought the service was excellent the place is spacious and comfy and clean. They have a big menu but not outrageous. With an entree you get soup and salad ... potato and vegetable which is a very good deal. My wife had the salmon she asked for medium rare and no butter and that's exactly how it was prepared. I had the broiled chop steak with sauteed onions mashed potatoes brown gravy all very good and an excellent vegetable Greek spinach and rice in a slightly spicy tomato broth worth the visit alone.
