I have to say, this diner is one of the best I've ever eaten at. The owners and servers are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food is deliciously cooked, and the diner itself is always very clean and comfortable. I've always felt that diners are often underrated for sticking to an old-school style, when many could benefit from embracing modern option, like latte style coffees, non dairy alternatives, and accommodations for different food restrictions or lifestyles. Came by as a large party for breakfast on a Monday morning. Service was quick and attentive. The food was pretty good. The pancakes were huge! I was surprised that the strawberry pancakes had strawberries inside rather than on top, but they were still decent. On a Sunday morning I was very surprised to get a table for four right away for breakfast. Our waitress came over quick and took our order. She never gave us her name. Had a fantastic time here with really excellent food. New Jersey is renowned for diners and this is one of the great ones! Came here with a large group and the staff was extremely accommodating and we were served very quickly. I had the Mexican omelette and grits, really, really tasty! I enjoyed the food so much and I even got to try the french toast which was really fantastic. Extra points as I was visiting with my band and they let us stay a few extra hours with lots of coffee and water as we went over our upcoming set list. They didn't hurry us at all and didn't even get annoyed when we basically stayed until closing, they were so sweet. I was very hungry and had some time to spend on myself, so I decided to eat at this diner. It had an outdoor patio entrance and was clean inside. My hostess was nice and waved me in to sit. I looked over the menu and decided on a grilled chicken pita that came with fries, coleslaw, and a pickle. I also ordered a diet coke. The waitress was very pleasant and took my order. The food came out hot and fresh. The coleslaw was excellent and made to my liking (I'm not a fan of mayo). The pickle was very cold and good. The fries were good, but the chicken gyro was very salty. Very typical diner food. Came for breakfast. Large menu. My husband got pancakes, eggs and sausage. The sausage are the fat links that he loves. I got the Florentine Benedict. It was good - english muffin could have been toasted a little more and it was lacking a little in seasoning. Home fries though are truly homemade and are very good. Good service, my coffee was never empty or cold! Definitely an old school diner - the dining area is a little dated but the restrooms are clean and definitely updated. read more

Headed over to Red Bank Dinner knowing in the past it was a good value and the wait staff was experienced and excellent. We were shocked and disappointed. A $10 Belgium Waffle with Bacon and one egg was now $19.50., since I was told I had to get two eggs, and two table spoons of real maple syrup, ($1.50) only enough to cover half the waffle, and I splurg on a fresh squeezed OJ, Not realizing I had a choice of sizes, was given a large $7.00, instead of the choice of a small ($5.25) by the waitress, total charge $26.50. My guest ordered the pancakes and two eggs $15.00, but did not come with syrup, as we had the keep asking the waitress to bring things that we ordered. And the regular syrup never came we had to order extra (a double order) of real syrup for the pancakes, which was only enough to cover one of the three thick dry pancakes, with two left on the plate w/o syrup. Entre, total with a small coffee, of $21.50. With $3.18 tax our breakfast bill totaled $51.18 and on top of which a $2.04 operating fee was added making a simple breakfast for 2 cost $53.22. Lesson learned, it wasn't worth it. read more

Breakfast & Lunch only. Excellent service, always. Standouts are the their salads in general, BBQ ribs, French dip roast beef sandwich. Chicken salad, egg salad platters and sandwiches. Diner basics are very good, burgers, pancakes, eggs, grilled cheese, fries. Owner always present and checks food. During the covid: I try to always be outside but the dining room, counter are open. I am happy to report they use real silverware & dishes outside. Especially helpful when it's windy, as it is today. Areas that need some attention. Omelets are sometimes overdone. Soups uneven, sometimes excellent, todays chicken soup was ok. Coffee is always fresh. Bathrooms are clean. Parking is easy and free this part of town. A big deal if you know Red Bank. Most of their business now appears to be take out and delivery. Owner has been improving the dinning room. I am a longtime customer, first review with current owner. read more

This is a great diner. It's not too big or too small, just the right size where you feel comfortable and relaxed but still with plenty of privacy. It's never packed, but it's never slow- a happy medium is the best to describe the pace/atmosphere. The service here was absolutely excellent. The hostess seated us promptly and I've had the pleasure of having Deidre (or D) wait on me twice. She is funny, professional, prompt, and caring. If you are in the mood for some chit chat, she's your waitress, or if you just want to simply order and relax- she's got you either way! The food here is consistently good, and consistency is one of the marks of a good diner to me. I've only had breakfast meals here, my favorite being the Italian omelette. It's loaded with mozzarella cheese and peppers and onions and the hash browns/potatoes that come with it are great. The Jersey omelette is pretty good too. It comes with broccoli and cheddar cheese, but I ask them to add ham...and then it's perfect! Toast is toast, but they serve it with a good amount of butter, warm, which I like. If you want to add jelly, just ask, they have all flavors... because everyone loves butter and jelly on their toast, right? Or, well, just me! ha! My friend has gotten the streak here twice as well as the pork chops. I'm not one to order steak at a diner but well he seems to eat anything but is a snob about it LOL! He devoured the steak, which means it is worth ordering! He also asked for TWO sides of rice and onion rings, which were also very good. The onions rings were nice and crispy, and he quickly gobbled them up. Ha! The steak typically comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes but you can order whatever side you like. The steak was cooked exactly to his liking. The pork chops were very good. I had a "chop" as they do serve nice portions here and it was pretty good! Who knew a diner would have decent chops!!! I have to add that the cream of turkey soup is also very good. If it's on the menu, try a bowl! Oh, and the coffee! It's good. Plus, if you get D as your waitress, she will always make sure your mug is full and hot! The Red Bank Diner also delivers, which is a nice plus... and they are on time and prompt! Overall this is just a great little spot. I was in the Red Bank area around 4;30 pm on a weekday.  Anyone that knows New Jersey traffic knows that 4 pm starts bumper to bumper, everywhere.  I live about 90 minutes from Red Bank and I while I wasn't starving around 4:30, I didn't particularly want to wait until probably 6:30-7 when I would actually get home.  It seemed like a good idea to find a diner and stop.  I didn't know much about Red Bank, but I stumbled upon the Red Bank Diner and made my way there. Atmosphere: The Red Bank Diner is unique.  It's located on the main road and a local business.  It's not a standalone building and attached to several other restaurants.  The inside is clean and modern.  It has several booths and a small bar.  It reminds me more of a local restaurant than a diner, but that is okay! Coffee: The coffee was good.  What gave it an "A" is our server kept it refilled the entire time.  There was never a moment that my cup came close to being empty (and believe me, I can drink coffee). Food: The Red Bank Diner has all of the usual diner favorites.  There are plenty of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.  I wasn't starving, but I was hungry.  It took me a while to decide what I wanted.  I randomly decided to order the St. Louis Burger. I had no idea why or even what it came with.  Honestly, I just did it by name and hmm: I've never been to St. Loius.  It was topped with cheese, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese.  It also came with "cajun" fries which to be honest were just curly fries. The burger was delicious and while the "cajun fries" were good curly fries, I didn't taste much of the flavor I anticipated. Service: The server was great.  As I mentioned, he always kept my beverages (water and coffee) filled, and there was never a moment that I felt as if I needed anything.  Not only that, but my food came out quickly.  I could not have asked for a better experience. On yelp the order was $12. Put a note to add bacon and cheese, and that I would pay the difference. Order was over $16 when I picked it up. Bread had a nice crisp, but chicken was soggy on buffalo chicken sandwich. Flavor was ok. No cole slaw or pickles as specified in order. Stick to breakfast. read more

We stopped at the Red Bank Diner on Thursday evening. This is a very un-diner like diner. I am used to diners having late hours or never closing but this place is done by 9:00 PM. They also have no parking lot, so take your chances with parking on Broad Street. As we walked in, a few customers were seated in the mostly empty dining room and the staff was seated at the counter. We were told to sit anywhere and a young server quickly brought us menus. To keep things simple we ordered a couple of cheeseburgers and a happy waitress. The wait was a bit longer than expected for food. An older gentleman folded up tables and chairs from outside and rolled them on in. A woman started sweeping the floor. Our food arrived and both burgers were overcooked. Fries were just frozen and deep fried. Pickles and slaw tasted tired. The happy waitress was missing the tomatoes. The young lady took the sandwich back to the kitchen and they corrected it. I don't know if it was just too late to get food that appeared to be prepared with care or if the chef had left and the dishwasher stepped in to cook but it was not a great first impression. The server was very polite but not a professional either. She didn't notice that we didn't have enough place settings or notice when drinks were empty. Next time I am in Red Bank, I will find a different place to try. read more

Worst service ever. I ordered the Texas burger. It was suppose to be with BBQ sauce but the damn burger was so dry due to the lack of sauce. Then to make matters worse you'd think our waitress, Deidra was attentive or just good at her job, right!? Hell to the NO NO NO she wasn't. She only came to us twice the entire time we were there. 1st to take our drink order and 2nd to take our food order. After that she just disappeared and not once came to check up on us. Went in today around 11:15a initially for breakfast, but changed our minds to paninis. I got the California panini with extra avocado..it was great...the chicken tasted phenomenal..well seasoned and everything else in the panini tasted fresh. My boyfriend ordered a pastrami corned beef panini which he thoroughly enjoyed. Both came with a pickle and a large portion of French fries. While the food was very tasty, the service was poor. Upon walking in, we had to seat ourselves as 2 servers walked past us and didn't say a word.. then wait for a manager to set down the menus. It wasn't even remotely busy. Our server was slowwww (had to get up to ask for anything) ..took 15 minutes after we asked to actually get the check...and our food took over 30 minutes to come out. My wife and I went to the Red Bank Diner for breakfast a couple of weeks ago. She had been with friends previously and told me that grits were available as a breakfast side. Grits are not readily available around here, so I was happy to hear that. Well, the grits were excellent. However, when we returned a couple of weeks later, the grits were terrible, thin and watery. My husband and I went to breakfast on Sunday. It was the worst meal I've had out ever. We ordered western omelettes they were funny tasting.. dry and old flavor. The home fries I almost choked on they were so devoid of any moisture. The toast wasn't toasted enough and the stuff they supposedly butter the toast with tasted awful.
