Fantastic food! Stop in and give it a try. I have been coming here for a few years when I work in the area.

Over priced for this garbage can food

TodayI ordered my lunch from Parkside and it was horrible. I ordered the chicken lo mein The rice was so hard that I couldn't even break it apart with my bare hands and the chicken has like a spoiled taste. I paid 12.71 for this garbage can food. This isn't the 1st bad experience I've had here. I will not be ordering here again

A couple of their beverage selections.

Let me start by saying I love this place. Also in our daily lives we will encounter establishments with other cultures and languages, so please allow ourselves some understanding, thank you for allowing my PA here... I have come here based on word of mouth and the reviews. What I like and love about this place is the food is like if I made it at home, simple and darn good! It is a small hole in the wall for those traveling the ending of route 201 Kenilworth Ave turns to Old Baltimore Pike. It reminds me of the corner stores in DC. That being said all walks of life from the contractor to the folks stopping in on their way to the beltway. They come here for their first meal of the day breakfast to start their work day. I have gotten breakfast mainly eggs scrambled, over easy or over hard, French toast, grits, potatoes, fresh cut fruit, homemade kimchi (yup the lady at the register/owner is Korean), pancakes (not my fav) and all delish! The assortment of juices is AMAZING! If you like some unique Nantucket Nectars (red plum is my fave) come here and check just the juices and fruit bar out lawdy! I do not have any food pics (a rarity for me!) because I eat it up so fast and say darn it should've took a picture! However I did post the current menu and some beverage ones!

Good down home business ran by a bunch of ladies trying to make it in the world. This place is clean, they are friendly, the prices are great and the food is hot and ready. This is a place that anyone can go eat at, blue collar, white collar, ladies, kids, there is something for everyone here. I had the shrimp wrap and the egg salad sandwich in two visits. Both were surprisingly good and egg salad is one that can be screwed up pretty easily. Their french fries are crinkle-cut with jus the right amount of spice on them.

Man, what a turn around!…read more My predictions in the previous review on this place came true, when last year it closed. NASA ditched the previous vendor (Chartwells/Eurest) and started the process of selecting a new one and renovating the new space. They came up with IL Creations, and they opened for business last month. This some of the best cafeteria food I've had. About 90% of the cold and hot food it pay-by-weight, so you can load up your plate with a variety of stuff. What is available changes on a regular basis, so you can't get bored. The flavoring of everything is great, definitely better than the typical cafeteria and more like what you would get at a decent restaurant. They also have pizzas which are good, as well as sandwiches and grill, which I haven't tried yet. They've also made improvements to the seating area. Smaller tables, chairs you can move, walls to decrease sound. It's really nice, and I think will be a huge asset to the center. A nice community space has been something we've really been lacking. I would probably give it 5 stars it if was a little cheaper... It averages about $7-8 a meal which is outside my comfort zone for a daily expenditure. Also the coffee prices are outrageous, especially since the center is proliferated with 25 cent coffee messes. I'd be great with paying a more for a decent cup, but not at 7x the price of everything else. But otherwise, hope it keeps up the great work!

We stopped by the cafe for a couple of beers before heading back to our part of MD. I think we originally wanted to have a meal there, but the patio was full so we went to another location for lunch. I thought New Deal Cafe had a decent variety of draft beers. Ok, so the selection included three IPAs and one lager. However, IPAs are my beer go-to so it worked for me. The service at the bar was great. Our bartender, Renee, was quite hilarious. I got the sense that this is local "where everybody knows you name" because the customers seemed super social with each other. Looking forward to our next New Deal Cafe visit.

The back room (separated from the front) has the sound stage and additional tables (where patrons and also order and dine while enjoying the music). At the front there is also a big screen tv where the performance is "streamed" from the other space. Cool concept that also works in practice. They have all types of music, open mic, and karaoke. Foodwise they have a menu that is vegan-friendly. A small case of pastries are available as well as wine and beer. A cheesesteak and wings business also seem to be operating in that space. We got drinks (me, green tea) and others also got pastries for dine in. Everything was good and the service was very welcoming. Had to leave before the band started but will catch a performance soon. However, I would say that the music plays from a little Bluetooth on the corner of the restaurant and it's not the greatest quality, would cut in and out, and it was just blaring way too loud, making it hard to have regular conversations. Service wasn't too bad overall. There was only one weight staff who had all the tables in the restaurant which made her spread out pretty thin. But we wouldn't get regular refills or Water and took so long to get water (waiting up to 20 min to try to get her attention) and at the end of our time together she finally gave us a pitcher of Water, but a little late as we're most done. Also, it took a while to get basic things we had ordered coffee but either she forgot to bring us coffee or she didn't ring it in and we weren't able to get it until after our food was delivered. So service, while she was friendly and kind, our service was definitely subpar. Hopefully this wasn't bc she had automatic tip bc our party was so large for her lack of service. 1/5 for service The food was amazing for the most part. I had gotten the salmon BLT and it was moist and tender with good flavor and seasoning, and the bread had a great texture and flavor to it as well. The bacon was nice and smoky and the sauce that was paired with it made it great. The hashbrowns were so crispy and seasoned with great flavor and salt! This was a winner! 4.5/5 Yeah, I got a bunch of other dishes, but I only tried small bites here and there of other people stuff. What I would say, is that the Cajun pasta shrimp was cooked perfectly and was tender and had great flavor! And that sauce was amazing! The sausage I tried wasn't the best but decent! We got biscuits and wings as appetizers, and the wings were great, good flavor, good crunch, and a decent size. However, there needs to be more wings in the order for the price. The hot honey sauce as good! 4/5 The biscuits were pretty moist and had a great texture and consistency, You get two for the order! 4/5 Overall, the food is pretty amazing. However, the service was pretty bad. Maybe this was a one off but just prepared for a long waits for everything from water to getting a drink order.

However, the food was very salty and not fresh. My husband ordered the steak and was sick for the next day and a half. I ordered the oysters and they were fine, but the oyster Rockefeller was gross. Since we'd parked already and it looked pretty good, so we decided to stay - and so glad we did. The food was well prepared - grilled rainbow trout was the fish of the day. Prepared skin on, and with a side of grilled asparagus and spinach risotto, it was a real treat. My husband has another special - meatballs and pasta with a savory vodka like sauce - and he enjoyed it thoroughly. We split the apple crumble à la mode dessert and it was more than enough for us to enjoy with a cup of coffee. Top notch. Our waiter Ricky was awesome and attentive. Everyone in fact was so nice.
