I am always looking for a great deli and this place was great. When I saw that they had a muffuletta I got super excited since I haven't had one outside of Louisiana. It was fantastic! Very authentic and a ton of meat. I also had the Italian which was just as good. The bread was fresh and the toppings had great flavor. This has to be the best deli in concord. It was a small family owned business and is tucked away in a shopping center. Plenty of parking but the inside is pretty small. They did have a couple of tables outside. read more

Sometimes you just crave a deli sandwich and Parma Delicatessen came to mind. A few friends had mentioned Parma in conversation and I realized I never tried it before. This family owned deli has been around for over 30 years. That alone should tell you that it is a local favorite in Concord. They also serve hot foods and offer catering. Parma is located at the El Monte Shopping Center. Lots of parking. Ordering over the phone is easy. The lady who took my order was super friendly. They can get busy (it sounded noisy in the background) so I'm glad I placed my order ahead of time. Unfortunately they sold out of sourdough rolls but that can happen when you arrive later in the day. It was either white or wheat, so we chose wheat. Can I just tell you how soft and fresh the bread was? Yum! First, the Italian Mix. Wow! That sandwich was massive! A meat lover's paradise right there. I was hoping to find more tang from a vinaigrette aside from the pickles to balance out the heavy mayo. That would have brightened up this sandwich a bit and give it some zing. Next, the Hot Crab sandwich. Whoa! This was a nice contrast to the Italian Mix. Warm and toasty, cheesy crab deliciousness. I'm glad I shared these sandwiches with my husband. We were definitely satisfied. My son and daughter also shared the Italian Mix along with the Pesto Chicken Caprese Panini. Great tasting pesto chicken on sliced sourdough bread. The service was quick and friendly. It was smaller and out of the way from other places I have been to before. Unfortunately, they were out of Dutch crunch bread. I got a turkey, salami sandwich with everything on it on a wheat roll for myself and a turkey, pesto, bacon sandwich for my partner. They were alright, probably would've been better on Dutch crunch. We also ended up toasting the sandwiches in the oven and that made them so much better. Not sure if I'll make the drive back over there but it was still pretty good. read more

I only had half of the sandwich and half of the pasta salad. So the portions are very generous Pricing... $12 for the sandwich and $3 for a small pasta salad. I absolutely love Parma Deli! I've lived in the East Bay for over 30 years and I just found out about this little gem about a month ago. I won't go anywhere else! The staff is excellent! They all make sandwiches to order exactly the same way so you don't have to worry about somebody making it different than anyone else. I have had the Italian mix, smoked turkey, pastrami, tri tip (only available on Wednesday), and the meatball. I have a very hard time deciding which sandwich I want on each visit because they are all five star hands down! The potato salad and macaroni salad are absolutely delicious! Best deli salads I've ever had! If you see chocolate cake on top of the cold case, you have to get a slice to go before you leave or you will regret it. It tasted like the kind my grandma used to make. I find myself coming here at least twice a week. By far the best deli in the East Bay area! Please visit Parma Deli if you haven't already. You will not be disappointed! Oh, and don't forget to grab a few Torrone candies before you leave! They are just a couple dollars extra and well worth it. One of my favorite Italian candies from my childhood! Did I mention that if you buy 12 lunches you get one free? We took a stroll over to Parma Deli based off Reddit responses to "best deli in the East Bay." It's tucked away in an unassuming strip mall. Very small place with a few indoor tables. If you're Italian, you will feel right at home the minute you walk in with all the fares and treats donning the countertops and shelves. We ordered the muffuletta (came recommended on Reddit) and Italian turkey. While waiting - a short wait - we struck up a conversation with a regular who sang the praises of the family owned business and shared that they also have a wonderful catering option.... how the mama whipped everything up "in back" and her boys made the sandwiches. I love this for them! As for the sandwiches, both were fresh and packed with protein. I was not as impressed with the muffuletta as my Reddit stranger friend was - the olive tapenade was too strong for me. The Italian turkey was better. The biggest shock were the prices... I know it's a sign of our times but paying over $40 for two to enjoy a sandwich lunch, coupled with the tipping screen in your face was quite the surprise. While we do love a good deli sandwich, sadly, I'm afraid Parma is not going to be in our rotation for financial reasons alone. read more

What a great deli this is! This is an old style, Amazing, little gem. When you walk in on the right is the big deli counter; on the left are a few tables as well as shelves packed with everything you could imagine. Cold drink coolers are on the far end. The menu is printed in chalk on a blackboard on the right wall. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had the BEST hot pastrami sandwich I have ever had. The homemade chicken soup was perfect. Next time I will split this football sized sandwich, densely packed with Italian meats, with a friend. HUGE! My friend enjoyed a ham sandwich on a sourdough roll, again, so fresh! This is a small deli, so be aware of that if you were coming at a busy time. I came at 1 o'clock on a Saturday and it was pretty full with no one wearing masks. I was taking it back that the staff was not wearing masks either while they preferred food. The food itself tasted fine although the service took a while before they could get to me. If you are looking for a classic deli, Parma is the place. Gigantic sandwiches, literally dozens of options, all reasonably priced. Some of the meats and cheeses I had never heard of before. I could barely finish half of my sandwich; the staff happily packed up the other half so I could take it with me. They also have a wide variety of salads and other classic Italian foods and treats. While I was waiting to order I asked my fellow customers what they thought of this deli and I heard nothing but praise. Some had been coming there for years. As I sat at my table eating, watching the crowd, I could not help but notice that the customers were of every ethnicity and color. All seemed happy just to be there. The banter between customers and staff was like watching a standup routine at a comedy club. Hilarious. I looked at the few negative reviews, and I have to wonder what planet they were from.
