To start off let me say all we had were appetizers. We ordered grape leaves and one of their samplers, Maney's Special. The grape leaves were cold and I don't mean room temperature. My wife saw the owner place something in the microwave so I assume they were previously frozen and not thawed completely. Maney's Special was everything you could get from a Food Lion on a bed of iceberg lettuce. We wasted our money and time in this place. I really don't know much about Greek food or what is good or bad, but I tried this place out today because I was curious about Greek food. I played it kind of safe by getting just a regular gyro, but OMG it was SOOOO good. I love lamb, and the lamb mixed with the veggies and whatever sauce they put on there, all in that delicious pita was delicious. I will definitely go back and try out some other stuff! I believe they also offer some more American dishes (subs, sandwiches, pizza), but I went to try to gyro and was not disappointed. read more

Thought would be great based on reviews. Will not go back. Very very small portions. Food was literally microwaved and the microwave was right behind my head (could feel blowing on me.) This is my FAVORITE restaurant here! I have never had a bad dish served from there. The greek salad is always crisp and the perfect amount of seasoning and dressing. The gyros are the best I've ever had and we also really love their pizza with some feta cheese thrown on it. Their french fries are seriously the best ever. They are crunchy on the outside but yummy in the center. So good! And the family that owns it are just the nicest and always remember me when I come in which makes me feel so welcome. read more

OK, so I'll admit that this review is dated. None-the-less, in the early 80's, when I was a student at Mary Washington College, this place was the absolute best. The owner (then) Steve Salagaris (sp?) was so cool to us -often bringing a delivery long after the shop "officially" closed for the night. The pizzas were huge and cheesy with lots of olive oil (an 18" cheese was like $6 bucks delivered). All my life (since then) I have compared all other pizzas to those proffered by Parthenon. Only one or two have been in the same league. The Greeks can cook a good pie and give "authentic" Italian-American shops a run for the money! I need to make a visit to the place again soon to see if it is still the place to beat. read more

Excellent find! A gem in the Fredericksburg area. Dinner was excellent, full of flavor and fast. Family owned and operated. Dining area could use a bit updating, although the mural on the wall was quite lovely and showed the area of Greece that the owners came from. Great food, great ambiance. Felt like home. Kids loved the flaming cheese. Portions were huge but not obnoxiously so. Friendly staff and you can tell they take guest satisfaction very seriously. Loved this place. Perfect mom and pop comfortable, not too fancy warmth, not cookie-cutter chain corporate. My wife found this place based on the high reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed. We had Maney special for appetizer and the gyro plater and cannelloni chicken. Everything was excellent. This is a small neighborhood place that has been run by husband and wife for 43 years. We tried this today and was not happy with it at all. The pork souvlaki tasted spoiled and was unedible. The tsaziki was the worst we've had anywhere. The mousaka had very little eggplant and potato in it. Overall, it was disappointing. read more

Husband and I wanted to try something new and local for dinner. He ordered the Gyro Platter and I ordered the Calzone. We both had changes to the order and they made those changes with no problem. The food was made fresh and was delicious. I will definitely return to this jewel in Fredericksburg. read more

I love this place. As a local of 4 years now I eat here every couple of months. The service is what you'd expect from your grandmother or grandfather, a little slow but totally worth the wait. Calzone is hudge and delicious. Beer is cheap and food is always inexpensive. Note I didn't say cheap. Always tasty, always a good choice. read more

Sophia and her husband (owners) make everyone feel as if they've just been invited into their home for lunch or dinner. Great atmosphere and phenomenal food at the Parthenon. Wanted to believe the reviews, so tried once for dinner and another time for lunch. Just not doing it for me. Gyro sandwich thin on meat, and doesn't even come me with a pickle spear. This is a true neighborhood restaurant owned by a lovely couple. We have been coming here for almost 20 years and have always enjoyed good food and good service. I love their salads, my husband enjoys their specials and our daughter has been known to eat an entire pizza by herself (excellent crust). This place is definitely a local treasure. read more

I was skeptical of the restaurant at first since it was in a small building next to Giant but the food is really good. Its a family run business, the gyros were delicious and cheap. Definitely eating there again. read more
