Cute little spot in the market been wanting to try this place forever and it did not disappoint! I think they have a weekly rotating menu- I tried the "from the ocean" special with scallops and it was sooo good! Portion size was reasonable as well. The space is small with a few tables but there is a courtyard with more tables downstairs & it's a great spot to enjoy your pasta & people watch!

I will go out of my way to eat here. Simple, clean, and delicious! I added the chili oil to my garden fettuccine dish- if anyone wants an extra kick it was definitely spicy!

This place has been in my bookmark for awhile and finally got to try it. It's not hard to find but got confused a bit to find it at the beginning. There weren't a lot of people that day, we had the whole place to ourselves. The guy who took our order had so much patience to explain each pasta. I got the from the sea and my husband got Pomodoro. I really liked my husband's pasta and it was so fresh! It cooked al dente and the pasta sauce seasoned so perfectly. My husband never a huge fan of al dente and he loved this place so much! He still talking about this place and won't stop talking about it. Mine of the other hand was okay; the taste is kinda odd to me, and it's kinda too salty for my liking. The fish were so small, like tiny pieces, I wish its bigger. My personal favorite of my dish is the Al dente part and the pea vine. Other than that mine was meh. The whole place is sooo cute and definitely a cute date spot!!!

Good god was this the best pasta ever. I had heard a lot about this place before visiting Pike Place Market and decided to check it out. We got the pomodoro and it came with radiatori pasta. It may sound or look simple but it was simply spectacular. The pasta texture was too good, you could tell it was homemade. The sauce was so flavorful and bright! The cheese on top added an awesome saltiness. It was EVERYTHING you'd ever want in a pasta. There was a bit of a line and wait, but I'd wait for hours to have this again. AMAZING!!!!!!

Many friends have recommended this place as having the best pasta in Seattle to me, so its safe to say my expectations were very high going into it. The menu is very small and simple, I recommend checking it online before coming since they usually only have one "spike" dish that stands out and is special. If that dish doesn't particularly stand out to you and you don't feel like spending $20+ on basic pasta then you're out of luck. The pasta itself is very good! Good texture on the noodles, the flavors were very mild but fresh and organic. I really liked the inclusion of various nuts as it added complexity to the flavor and textures, I've since added sunflower seeds to my own pasta recipes. All in all, I think it is actually worth the medium-high cost for a first experience and the pasta does feel higher quality. It reminds me of Tavolata

I didn't know about this place until a friend had recommended we meet here for lunch. We went on a Sunday and I will say there is limited seating, but luckily there's courtyard on the base floor of available seating. They have a menu of 5 items. 3 of which are rotating and the other 2 are year round. Everything is made to order and the pasta is al dente. I think the pasta quality is great and the flavors meld together well. Nothing is overwhelmingly to the palate. Got two dishes. -From the farm Rigatoni all'amatriciana / Rigatoni with guanciale, pomodoro, chili flakes, pecorino :I love the guanciale and wish there were more of it in there. Had to savor/ration it From the garden Spaghettoni con pure' di rape rosse, burrata, olio al peperoncino calabrese / Spaghettoni with red beet puree, burrata, Calabrian chili oil :the chilies did have a good spice that ramp up. Not overly spicy It will leave you feeling full. Overall sentiment. If someone asked for a pasta rec. This place would be included. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

It's a decent Italian/Italian-inspired place for pasta. Some interesting flavor combos. Pasta is definitely al dente in an Italian way (and that apparently drives some of you crazy). I liked it. I did NOT love it, but I definitely liked it. Would stop by here again if in Pike Place, but I would not make a special trip to eat here.

I came here on early Sunday afternoon for the first time. It was a little busy but ordering was quick and our pasta didn't take too look to come out. We did find seating and there is seating in the restaurant portion, as well as down the stairs. It's a cute little place in the heart of pike place. We got the lasagna casalinga, from the farm, and from the sea pastas. Lasagna casalinga: I love lasagna but I've never had a white sauce lasagna before. I really loved this and I loved it a lot more than I expected. It has peas, sausage, and mushrooms, made with in house bechamel sauce. I thought this might feel super heavy and rich since it was a cream sauce but it wasn't! It was creamy without the feeling of being "too much" when eating it! That's always my worry whenever I eat cream pastas or sauces, that I can only eat a few bites and then feel full bc it the richness. The mushrooms, pea, and sausage worked so nicely into the flavoring of the lasagna and the sausage was flavorful and seasoned well. I believe it's a pork sausage which in my option always tastes great. From the farm: this was my absolute favorite! I always lean towards ragu or bolognese sauce, it's my favorite dish because the flavors become so pronounced during the cooking process. This was a bison ragu with perfectly al dente rigatoni. The bison wasn't gamey and pair so nicely with the ragu because it was able to get in all the crevices of the pasta. We opted for burrata as a topping which gave a really nice creaminess From the sea: this was a spaghetti with rockfish, pea vines, leeks, and harissa. The pasta felt a little Asian inspired, in Chinese cooking we steam whole rockfish and pea vines are a very common veggie dish, so I loved that the elements made me think of my culture. The harissa also gave it a spicy kick which was reminiscent of having chili oil or chili paste on the side at dimsum. While I loved the flavors of this it wasn't my favorite because it was a bit too light. I really wished the flavors were bolder and more pronounced. Rockfish/white fish is very mild fish so the taste is very dependent on the flavors you add to it. However if you like light flavors and fish that isn't too fishy, this is great! This is a really fresh dish so even though it wasn't my favorite doesn't mean it's not a great pasta! I can't wait to come back to try the next rotation of pastas!

This place is overhyped AF! I visited due to all the glowing reviews but the "From the Farm" pasta I got was extremely salty. I know they have a rotating menu so maybe I just came on an off week, but man, I couldn't even finish my dish because it was literally pure salt. The texture of the pasta was good though. Past Casalinga is in Pike Place Market, so seating is hard to come by and the place is very crowded with narrow space all-around.

By the time I'll have posted this review the menu will have likely changed. They make fresh pasta everyday (we happened to be there at Pike Place around 8:30am one morning and saw all the prep work going on). There was a line when we went on a Thursday afternoon and it is jockeying for a bit of counter seat dining. You place your order, try to find seats and keep an ear out for your name. When I went I got the seafood pasta option ( there is also a meat pasta option, a veggie pasta option, a lasagna and a pasta with their housemade rossodoro sauce). The pasta I got had anchovies, escarole, olives and breadcrumbs. It was really umami and tasty, and it is good heaping portion as well. Would recommend a stop at this store if at Pike Place. Its a tad bit less touristy than other options.

We really didn't know what we were in for when eating here. The staff was so friendly and were extremely knowledgeable about the food. I ordered the From the Ocean which was a Tagliolini with Rockfish, Luciana Style, Castelvetrano Olives, Toasted almonds and oregano. This was such an insane combination not only to read but to taste as well. I loved the contrast of the soft fish with the hard nuts and firm olives. It honestly reminded me of pizza in pasta form with the tomato sauce. It was truly a flavor adventure. Amazing food.

I really like Pasta Casalinga because it's authentic, genuine, and quaint. The menu is short and simple but the pasta dishes are delicious. I would recommend Pasta Casalinga for singles, couples, and small parties as the seating is organized for express dining. Tipping isn't necessary here since table service isn't available- order at the counter, pick up your order, bus your dishes. read more

The cashier was very sarcastic and rude (6'0 white male). I asked him if he had a print out of the menu and he said "it's up there" pointing up to a chalk board that was not readable. My friend then asked if they had chicken pesto he replied with "no whatever we have is up there". My friend and I were really disappointed because we really wanted to try their pasta. Pasta Casalinga is a hidden gem in Pike Place market. The service is incredible-- my dish had chili flakes in it which I'm not able to eat and they kindly and quickly replaced the dish for me. The lasagna and pasta from the garden was unbelievable. Pasta is fresh and light -- truly one of the best pasta spots in Seattle. Can't wait to go back! read more

My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place today with delight. I can definitely say that it was one of, if not the most, charming spots we've ever been too. Delicious food, friendly atmosphere, awesome service, and great location. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum! When I arrived prior to their opening time of 11am, there was already a family waiting. They frequent this spot (good sign) and told us that the menu changes all the time, but will consistently offer an item from each category (meat, seafood, vegetarian, etc.). This is pasta that is kept simple and done right. You can tell there are not a ton of ingredients in each dish, but each ingredient is high quality and thoughtfully selected and balanced out with the others. Portion sizes appear small, but are exactly the right amount if you don't want to slip over to food coma territory. read more

I was super excited to try this place for lunch, I went in with a friend in May and I ordered one of the day specials, which included an arugula pesto. Upon the first bite, my mouth puckered up in complete disgust, the pesto was so inedibly bitter! I had my friend try to confirm the taste, and she agreed. I was sad that it didn't taste good (I know for a fact that old arugula has the bitter snappy aftertaste rather than a crunchy peppery taste, like with fresh arugula greens) and was nervous to ask for a solution that would help the dish become more palatable. I mustered up the courage to tell the person at the register, who looked at me like I was some alien. She called over the cook, who defensively exclaimed "that's how arugulas supposed to taste ... I don't know, it's not MY recipe." I was mortified as they dumped heaping spoonfuls of shredded burrata over my dish to cut the bitterness. Well, it didn't help, and I certainly was defeated and embarrassed by being gaslighted by the cook. TRY YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU SERVE IT. The experience, and the pasta, left a bitter taste in my mouth for this place. Sad because I wanted to start going here regularly. read more

An impromptu visit that was mouth watering! A small romantic, gem (mind you I went with my mom!) that leaves your heart happy and belly full. We ordered From The Ocean (spaghetti alla chitarra with pnw geoduck putanesca) and From The Garden (radiatori with spinach, pesto, stracciatella cheese, harissa). I"m only sad they were out of another dish, but in all fairness, we arrived 20 minutes before they were closing. They did NOT rush us, they were super friendly and cooked everything on the spot. read more

Peas and mushrooms are not the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word "lasagna" - but my first order of the white lasagna was outstanding! Peas, mushrooms, sausage layered with a bechamel sauce..... I ate every last bite. I will definitely be back. read more

The food is so good here that it may become a serious problem for me since I only work 3 blocks away. I had the "from the garden" which had a spiral pasta with spinach, sundries tomatoes (I think) and straciatella cheese, which was amazing. Probably one of the best pasta dishes I've had in Seattle. A few notes: 1. I think the menu may rotate. 2. Food takes around 15 minutes so don't come here if you're in a huge rush. 3. The Italian woman working there was very nice. Che Buono! read more

Fresh pasta and ingredients. What more can you ask for? Tried this place twice and both times the pasta was tasty and satisfying. They have only a few pastas everyday and it definitely simplifies making a choice. It's not the cheapest place but the portions are pretty filling and tasty. They have a few tables around their 'kitchen' and there's also some seating on the lower level. Great little lunch spot! read more

We had a couple of friends that mentioned this little place and since we were at the market, we decided to give it a try. Not a lot of options but man...it was really good. My wife had the Pomodoro and she was delighted and I had the Lasagna. Had a twist on the original version and included sweet peas. It was great! I highly recommend it. read more

pasta casalinga was one of my favorite spots to hit up back pre-covid when everyone was working downtown, and it's more important than ever to support them now! this is one of my favorite pasta places in seattle - they truly make everything from scratch. right now, they're also offering take home options so you can enjoy a casalinga meal at home. highly recommend coming by and grabbing take out or some frozen ragu sauce! read more

Friendly and kind waitstaff, watched them make my pasta in the clean kitchen and it was fresh and delicious. Huge portion, so very fair for the price and I loved that they had a nice free water station with ice. You could easily have split a meal. There was about a ten minute wait for food but it was worth it for how fresh and tasty it was :) read more

Ate here for the second time this past weekend. I absolutely love this place and feel it is a hidden gem. We are amateur foodies with pretty high standards for quality ingredients and good tasting foods, and this place absolutely knocked it out of the park this weekend. The lasagna, which looks kind of not appealing (it's white not red and has peas in it?!) was the best we have ever had, it is so delicious!!! read more

My partner and I traveled to Seattle for a nice vacation. After exploring the public market and weighing our options, we decided to stop at Pasta Casalinga for lunch. I loved their menu format and that they switch pasta dishes up weekly. I can certainly say this was the best pasta I have ever tasted. We loved the food so much we tried to come back on our last day before we left, but unfortunately they were closed (it was a holiday). After looking up more about the restaurant I was impressed by how involved the owners are in the Seattle community. Don't make the mistake of passing this spot up if you're in Seattle! read more

New favorite restaurant in Seattle. Best Italian I've had in Seattle. On top of the AMAZING food, the workers were so happy and kind to us. I got the pasta pomodoro with burrata. It was heavenly. Perfectly al dente handmade pasta, topped with a delicious and simple buttery tomato sauce, fresh basil, parmesan and pepper. Presentation was beautiful. Everything is made to order, and they really take pride in each dish they make. Medium to small portions and EPIC quality - I couldn't believe it was only $11. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner. Can't wait to go back. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I tipped the first few times, didn't tip the next two times and I could see the change in service by the lady with the short, brunette bob. Today when she saw me she made a negative face and left the register. After I ordered she asked why I never tip and then talking in a way to guilt me for not tipping and afterwards said, "Just so you know how it's done" or whatever. Apparently you cannot get good service unless you tip. *NEWSFLASH LADY* Don't expect a tip. Tips are optional and if they were required gratuity would already be added onto the bill. I may have been too low to tip the first few times I didn't but your service and rude attitude against me made me feel uncomfortable to tip. Try having an hourly wage of $4 or $7.25 before you start begging for tips at $11.50/$13 an hour. It was EXTREMELY unprofessional to try to guilt me to tip and you cannot alter your service due to lack of tipping because that would push people to not tip even more. I still kept coming because at least the food was good but I became more and more hesitant to do so and now I would feel flat out angry if I stepped foot near there again. You never truly know the reason behind why a person does or does not tip and you trying to guilt me into doing something OPTIONAL is not going to make me want to do it. You keep doing that and you will start losing business. Found out she was the owner, however she is not legally allowed to take any tips so I don't know why she would try to guilt me or especially act unprofessional towards me. If she does take the tips she is BREAKING THE LAW. read more

We were craving Italian and the location we wanted to go to was closed down for renovations. We stopped and ask a local what Italian place they recommended. They couldn't remember the name but said the food was phenomenal and gave us directions. It was very easy to find. We asked the owner what she recommended and we ordered two different things and both were delicious and very filling. Would recommend this place wholeheartedly read more

My husband surprised me during a recent trip to Seattle by finding this gem for me, his pasta loving wife. Though this location was a little tricky to find, it was worth the effort. The prices were shockingly affordable but the best surprise was how absolutely delicious everything was. One of the entree's brought back a flood of memories of eating at my Italian born grandmother's kitchen table. We are still talking about our meal at Pasta Casalinga and will definitely be going back on our next trip to Seattle!!! read more

What a surprise! Casual italian (self-serve) but high end flavor. Not fresh pasta but the 'Farm' was very flavorful with a wild boar meat sauce served over rigitoni. 'Ocean' was a seafood pasta featuring skate fish which we never had before. Wifey liked it. read more

I just stopped by for a quick lunch just for me, in between work appointments. My lucky stars! Michela is a wonderful host - very gracious. It is informal, inexpensive and very satisfying rustic fare. I see a review about a dish being too creamy, and that is what I found so satisfying about the lasagna. It is nice to be in this part of the Market because there is not so much tourist pandemonium. I look forward to making this a part of my walk to lunch, eat, walk back to work routine. read more

I'm really not a huge pasta fan but this place on another level. I go here at least once a week and it is some of the best Pasta I've had.... ever! There aren't many choices here. My friend got the spaghetti with squid ink & it wasn't his cup of tea. I got the pasta with red sauce it wasn't anything special. It is kinda of expensive but it is handmade i guess. I just don't recommend it. read more

Fantastic pasta in Pike Place market. It's simple - 5 items on the menu, made with the best ingredients and paired with great wine. This is authentic Italian, nothing heavy, just delicious pasta creatively crafted. I would have paid three times as much for an identical dish at Lupa in NY. Seriously. read more

The moral of this story is when you have yummy Beecher sandwich or any food don't eat on that cement slab or the patio swarming with pigeons because they are frigging bold. You may be a victim of your sandwich being stolen and your kid laughing about it for days. Not to mention PTSD anytime a seagull makes a noise you the rest of the trip! I'm so sad not to have had a Beecher's sandwich.

I was full from my pasta bowl at nearby Pasta Casalinga, but was eyeing the charcuterie cone. Imagine tasty nibbles to snack on while wandering the rest of the market. If you're not familiar with this place, let me fill you in. Their menu undergoes monthly changes. What's interesting is that even though they retain the dish names, the ingridients that goes in are different each month. Their pasta dishes are known for their light flavours, making them enjoyable every bite. Unlike the heavy, overly flavourful, and excessively creamy pasta dishes that tend to leave you with an unpleasant stomach sensation, this place offers a refreshing alternative. "From the Farm" resembles a lighter version of carbonara. The sauce wasn't overly creamy, making it a perfect choice if you prefer a more subtly flavored carbonara. If you're seeking for an even lighter option, "From the Ocean" might be just what you're looking for. The pasta's flavour primarily comes from tangly pickles, such as capers and olives. One thing to note is that the preparation time for their dishes is pretty long. It took around 20 minutes for my order to be ready. My absolute favorite dish was the Lasagna Casalinga for its layers of savory, meaty richness with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. It's everything you want in a comfort dish and then some. The From the Farm special was another standout. The al dente pappardelle had the best texture of any pasta I've had in Seattle for its wide, chewy ribbons that perfectly held onto the seasonal ingredients without ever getting soggy. We had such a great experience at Pasta Casalinga! We tried the From Farm pasta, and it was absolutely amazing, the wide pasta noodles were perfectly cooked and the beef sauce was rich, flavorful, and comforting in the best way. This one of the best place I've been for delicious pasta. The food was incredibly great, every dish was bursting with authentic flavors. Great texture of noodles and it so creamy with lots of excellent quality ingredients. The Rigatoni AL Dente was one of the best. It was very satisfying. Solid hole in the wall location in the middle of pike place, really added to the vibe. The service was incredibly fast as I ordered the lasagna. It was hot and ready to order. Amazing pasta! Very delicious! Made from the scratch! My favorite was the Bison Ragout. My husband had Squid Ink Pasta. Both of our order was amazing! Only downside is that the seating is limited and the service is a little bit slow! read more
