Pastaphony has no business being this good. I got the fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken Parmesan on top because apparently I believe in carbs on carbs with a side of more carbs. Zero regrets. My son and I split the Caesar salad so we could pretend there was something healthy happening at the table, but with the amazing dressing and croutons it was so yummy. The pasta was creamy, the chicken Parmesan was cheesy and perfectly cooked, and everything tasted ridiculously fresh. What I don't understand is how you make food that tastes restaurant-quality but also like somebody's Italian grandma is in the back personally offended by the idea of you leaving hungry. It has that homemade comfort food taste that makes you immediately start planning what you're ordering next time while you're STILL eating. Yeah... Pastaphony officially became our favorite pasta spot. We will absolutely be back.

Went back to Pastaphony to try their dishes. Couldn't be happier. The owner was so kind. He greeted us at the door and offered to go over the menu with us. The chef also chimed in when we were deciding what to do for our order. The vibe is casual "choose your own" pasta adventure ordering at the counter and bringing it to your table out on the patio. The food however is a sit down restaurant quality. We ordered the cheese tortellini with garlic, basil and marinera sauce-YUM! But the STAR of the show was the cheese raviolis with the homemade pesto sauce and fresh cheese on top! DELISH!! We will go back for that!! Your meal arrives in a disposable bowl making it easy to take it home (IF you have any leftovers). I recommend bringing a friend or two so you can get a couple of dishes to try.

Best Italian Food in Fullerton. Delicious pasta and sauce made with love and served with pride. Had Spinach Ravioli and Pesto sauce. Outstanding. Ill be back with my family to try the other dishes. Cute patio seating. Not cheap but worth the price.

PASTAPHONY @ FULLERTON The penne shrimp pasta was AMAZING, it was also a pretty big portion and super fresh! The owner and his family were super kind and friendly--he went over the entire menu with us since it was our first time! The outside area was great for a date night with ambient lighting and music. Overall 5/5 !! Will be coming back to support

I don't hand out 5 stars often but if you get one, trust me it was well deserved. Homemade pasta is the business. Best service with the owner greeting you and remembering your name. N8ce vibes with music in the patio. The food is delicious.

The pasta here is simple yet soooo delicious!! I love the option of building your own pasta. Ordered the penne pasta with pink sauce. The pink sauce was divine, perfectly tomato-ey with a creamy texture. Service was great, he was super friendly and even shook our hands to welcome us in when we arrived! There's a parking lot close by and some street parking available.

Good to know: If there's ever an issue with your order, phone the business or talk to them because the owners are very friendly and willing to help. The food always tastes great here and it's freshly cooked pasta on the spot. You can view the staff cooking in the back and they have plenty of space to sit. Totally redeemed from my last experience here

I absolutely loved it! I went here with my friends and did not disappoint. Hospitality was through the roof, food soooo good, like amazing, overall an amazing experience and place. Definitely will be coming back soon, my friends & I joked about having our birthday dinners.. not joking ! It gives Italian vibes so much and it's in such a cute area as well!

The service is so good here and the portion size is HUGE. I love that you can customize your pasta and there's so many different options to choose from. The pasta was piping hot and tasted amazing. I thought the garlic bread was okay, but super garlicky! It does take a while for the pasta to come out when it's busy but it's definitely worth the wait. The outdoor seating area is such a vibe, especially since it's in the downtown Fullerton area.

They are located in downtown Fullerton. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and he took us through the menu since it was our first visit. Unfortunately, there was no indoor seating, but they offered outdoor seating. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the portions were generous. Overall, we had an okay experience. I'd go back to try other items on the menu.

came here at 10 pm and ordered the fettuccine chicken alfredo and penne pasta with shrimp and chicken cesar salad. food was delicious and the alfredo was the favorite! it had excellent thick sauce, good amount of chicken. the cesar salad was also pretty good. well dressed, seasoned, and event filled with chicken and croutons (not just on top). the penne pastas was good with the shrimp, sauce was flavorful and it came with decent amount of shrimp. can't complain. Family owned business and cashier is friendly and very helpful. definitely come support!

This place takes fresh pasta to an absolute art form. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between vibrant and cozy we were greeted by the owner who was very kind and walked us through the menu. Every single pasta dish on the menu that we ordered tasted like it was rolled daily in-house, and you can truly taste the quality. The Fettuccine Truffle mushroom is rich and creamy it makes you coming back for another forkful. We also tried the Spaghetti chicken parmesan with unbelievable depth of flavor, the cheesy garlic bread was scrumptious! I love that it was cheesy! and for dessert we had the Tiramisu a classic Italian dessert with, now we found our favorite pasta place number 1 on out list

Part of me almost hesitated to leave a review because it feels like one of those hidden gems you want to keep to yourself but they absolutely deserve the recognition. The food tastes genuinely homemade: rich sauces, flavorful dishes, and pasta cooked perfectly. Nothing about it feels mass-produced or overly commercial. If you're expecting chain-restaurant Italian, this is in a completely different lane. One thing I really liked was the build-your-own pasta option being able to customize exactly what you want is such a win. Portions were generous, everything came out fresh, and you can tell care goes into the food.

Build your own: Fettuccine Alfredo 6/10 lacks flavor (I had ordered it with garlic, parm, & spinach and it didn't have any of the extras)

Date of visit: Sep 8, 2026…read more What a disappointing birthday dinner. I came here with high hopes of finding one of those hidden-gem, hole-in-the-wall Italian places, but unfortunately, it all ended up blowing up in my face. The biggest problem was simple: everything--from the soup to the main dishes--was way too salty. We were a party of six, and three of us ordered pasta with the garlic cream sauce: the Pescatore, Shrimp & Scallop, and Clam. The sauce wasn't thickened enough, so it was much too soupy for a pasta dish, and the taste of white wine was very prominent. The garlic cream sauce was salty too, although nowhere near as crazy salty as the Chicken Piccata, Tortellini Giovanni, and Minestrone. Chicken Piccata: Like everything else we tried, this dish was just way too salty. The lemon-butter sauce was completely overwhelmed by the capers, and eating it honestly felt like shoveling forkfuls of salt into my mouth. The only saving grace was the chicken itself, which was cooked well and had a nice golden-brown exterior. Tortellini Giovanni: Just okay. I've definitely had better. The cheese filling inside the tortellini wasn't particularly good, although the Italian sausage was pretty tasty. The more I ate, though, the saltier, heavier, and oilier the dish seemed to get. Overall, there was really nothing special about it. Minestrone: SO salty that I couldn't even finish it. I'm not sure if this is simply their recipe or if the soup had been refrigerated and reheated to the point where some of the water had evaporated, leaving the salt increasingly concentrated. It's too bad because the underlying flavor was actually there--it was just completely ruined by the amount of salt. Pizza: Just okay. The dough wasn't bad, and I actually liked that it had some chewiness to it. But for the price, I'd rather go somewhere else. I really wanted to love this place, especially since this was my birthday dinner. I wasn't expecting fancy or perfect--I was hoping for a charming little hole-in-the-wall with really good, comforting Italian food. Unfortunately, we left super disappointed.

I got the pasta cheese wheel (serves 2) and the server was great and funny. The pasta has a great flavor. And the portion is just right. Definitely filled me up even though I wanted more pasta. The garlic bread was also good. It is the same sourdough bread from the beginning. I'd return to try more of the menu!

It was the most private and intimate date we ever experienced. It was so thoughtful and sweet of them to still take us as guests. They did not rush us and was so attentive and friendly throughout the entire experience - seriously unmatched service The chef making the pasta table side said we came at the perfect time because it does get extremely busy The appetizers, main course and dessert were all a hit. Everything so flavorful and hit all the right taste buds. We are coming back to try the mozzarella sticks and pizza with our kids Probably one of the best restaurant experiences we've ever had both on service and food taste

Margarita pizza: So good, the marina sauce was rich, flavorful and light on the pizza. Cheese was light and gooey to the touch. The crust didn't fall down. Calamari: Breading was crispy and light in batter. Calamari was more bouncy than soft. Tip: If you want to dine indoors around 5-6 PM there is option to sign yourself up on the yelp waitlist on your phone before arriving here. However wait time to get seated took about 10 mins tops. I think if you want to sit in the outdoor patio you might need to call in for a reservation.

Service was very attentive and friendly. The meal starts with complimentary bread that is similar to pita bread served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We ordered a caesar salad, shrimp rose pasta, and bolognese. The shrimp rose pasta was our favorite with such a creamy and flavorful sauce and perfectly cooked shrimp, and we could see why it's popular here! We thought the bolognese sauce was really sweet, which was unexpected, and that dish ended up being our least favorite.

It's consistently good every single time, which is honestly hard to find. It's family-owned, and the service is amazing. They're just straight to the point, not trying to impress anyone, just serving great food. My type of people and my type of food. I love their cheese ravioli with pink sauce, the minestrone soup, the Italian wedding soup, and the spaghetti and meatballs with their meat sauce. it's AMAZING. And their garlic bread is an absolute must. Be warned... you'll probably knock out right after. The portions are hearty, the food is comforting, and it gives the best food coma every time.

This is a tough review to write because it appears to be a family-run business, but hopefully the criticism is taken constructively. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt unwelcoming. There didn't seem to be a host or anyone greeting customers. We stood there somewhat aimlessly while employees behind the counter looked over at us without really acknowledging us or explaining where to go. One particularly strange thing we noticed was customers being turned away at the door and told there would be a wait, despite several tables appearing to be open. Then, about five minutes later, another couple walked in and was seated without any issue. Maybe there was an explanation for it, but from a customer's perspective, it was confusing and came across as very inconsistent. Unfortunately, the meal didn't improve things. The food was very bland and lacked the flavor I would expect from a good Italian restaurant. The bread we received tasted stale and was noticeably burnt. For comparison, I would honestly put the overall food quality below what you would expect from Olive Garden. Table service was almost nonexistent. Getting assistance throughout the meal was difficult, and even trying to pay the bill and leave felt like a journey. What concerned me even more was seeing several other customers spoken to in a way that came across as unnecessarily rude. I really wanted to understand why this place has such strong reviews, but based on our experience, I simply can't recommend it. Better hospitality, more consistent treatment of customers, more attentive service, and improvements to the food would go a long way.

The scallop dashing risotto however was extremely fishy smelling, so that was my least favorite, but my gf really liked it. It was also $30+ for not a very big portion. The puff bread was a bit too flour-y for me but I loved the honey butter it came with. I really hope the crab roe spaghetti stays on the menu because it was delicious, great portion, and had amazing crab flavor. The pasta was also well cooked and sauce not too creamy. The berry part of the matcha berry tiramisu was the strongest so I didn't detect matcha as much. They were kind enough to provide a small slice of chocolate cake a la mode with a candle for the birthday and it was actually a great balance of flavor, not being too rich or heavy in chocolate. I would order this again separately as a solid fudge sundae. The beef carpaccio, squid ink uni pasta, spicy miso carbonara, mentaiko pizza, and sticky toffee pudding are still solid as usual. Came back yet another time, and got the beef carpaccio because I just love the truffle flavor, the two sauces, and the arugula/apple bites in between. The only improvement would be smaller slices to make it easier to eat since the larger ones are hard to pick up. The crab roe spaghetti I had to get again for the summer menu in case they decide not to keep it for fall/winter because the crab flavor is so good. My friend ordered the seafood malfadine which I was apprehensive about considering my previous experience but WOW I was surprised by how different it was this time around because when I tried a bite, they REALLY turned it around. I'm so grateful my friend decided to order it because after trying theirs, I might start ordering it again for myself now. Not sure if I had it on an off day previously or they changed the recipe but it now is actually as flavorful as the spicy miso carbonara and might actually be even better. The sausage flavor actually adds a lot of richness without being heavy or overpowering, the spice is a good kick without being actually spicy, the shrimp is delicious, but I kept going back for the sauce. INI Ristorante is one of very few restaurants I consistently keep coming back to instead of trying other new spots in the area because I can't choose my favorite out of so many good things on the menu and just want them all so I need to come with bigger groups or rotate each time I visit. A great problem to have. Their dishes are innovative, pack full flavor, and are unique enough to not find elsewhere. I never have to worry about finding parking and I love being able to reserve in advance since it gets busy. They're the spot I keep bringing friends and family to.
