Pastaria has some of the very best pizza in STL! We've been going there for years and it never disappoints. You get complimentary bread for the table that is so good and pairs very well with the chili oil and parm. We got the chopped salad, bolognese pasta and Roman pizza. All were perfect!

We stopped at Pastaria for a quick dinner on Thanksgiving Eve. We didn't have a reservation and were offered bar seating, which wasn't ideal with a toddler, but we were hungry and decided to make it work. Unfortunately, I'm taking one star off for the unwelcoming demeanor of the bartender who served us. On a positive note, the food was excellent. We ordered the Little Gem Chopped Salad and the Tagliatelle Bolognese to share, along with Butter Noodles for our son. Everything was outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and clearly well prepared. Despite the service hiccup, the food alone makes this place worth returning to, and I'm looking forward to coming back the next time we're in town.

As good as ever! Even though it's been a couple years since I was here the last, the food, service, and quality are still as good, if not better than ever! I came here on Sunday, and surprisingly was the first one to walk through the doors. I chose to sit at the bar (bc what else is new?) I was immediately given water and menus to peruse. I noticed a couple things were different since last time: they have a happy hour menu that includes the weekends and they have breadsticks! There were a few new items on the menu too, but the breadsticks are what caught my eye. I already knew I wanted the pistachio ravioli but debated on whether I could eat the breadsticks. Mind you, you get a decent size piece of bread that comes complimentary. Ultimately, I decided to stick with the complimentary bread and got the smaller size glass of the Scarpetta Brut Rose (sparking). First of all, the complimentary bread is chefs kiss. Soft, fluffy but crispy edges were all I needed. That and some fresh olive oil and balsamic to dip. I was hungry, so needless to say I woofed that down instantly. They let me get another piece before my ravioli came out and thankfully that held me over. The wine had the perfect amount of fizz and sweetness and was equally refreshing. If you're looking for a dish that's light but still filling, go with the pistachio ravioii. Even though it's pasta, I didn't feel bad eating it! This place never disappoints and I have yet to come here and not leave feeling full and with a smile on my face.

Not my first time here, and it definitely won't be my last! I split the Endive and Arugula Salad and the Pistachio Ravioli and it was very tasty. Also finished the meal with the peanut butter dark chocolate pretzel gelato, and it was so tasty. Our waiter was great. We had two kids with us, and the wait staff were all so friendly and great with them

Excellent meal and experience with 3 co-workers. Difficult to choose- so many amazing menu items. Our sever was friendly and attentive- made good menu recommendations. We were too full for dessert. We tasted all of each other's entrees- I still think mine (pistachio ravioli) was the best. Also enjoyed the citrus salad. Open floor plan but not too loud to easily talk/hear each other. Everyone enjoyed all of the food.

Attentive service in a lively atmosphere! We started with the shaved kale salad which had a lovely anchovy dressing over tender, thinly sliced kale. I had the Allen pizza - mozzarella, oregano, mushroom and prosciutto. The wood fired crust had a nice char and a great chewy texture. My dining partner had the semolina pasta - a shrimp fettuccini that had a light buttery sauce. If you aren't a garlic lover, this dish is not for you. Overall, everything we ordered was fresh, nicely plated and high quality.

Spaghettini with neck clams. I'm not a huge seafood fan and this was incredible.

Came here because a friend told us it was their favorite pasta spot and tried it out while we were visiting from out of town. I probably wouldn't come here for a date because the ambiance is a little louder and family-oriented, but the food was incredible. We ordered the neck clam spaghettini, risotto balls, the garganelli, kale salad, and a margherita pizza. I would pass on the risotto balls but everything else was amazing. Better than any pasta spot I've tried in SF. I'm genuinely sad this restaurant isn't in SF. Service was also fantastic. Server was very attentive, and answered all our questions.

Last week a friend and I decided to get together for happy hour, decided to go to Pastaria and it just rolled into dinner! Love that they have some happy hour specials and we enjoyed them thoroughly. Had we wanted to eat our fill with that menu we certainly could but we really enjoyed that we could have. I recommend going early and snagging a table (though I also love the bartenders). We were seated in the wine/deli space which I love dearly. No trip to Pastaria is complete without the risotto balls and I love that they are on the happy hour menu! There are also a few drinks, I happily chose sangria and didn't look back! So good. We also got the margarita pizza which has never disappointed at Pastaria. We were having so much fun and hanging out so long we eventually ordered the garganelli to split and it was the perfect close. I have come to Pastaria dozens of times over the years, doing dear friend meetups like this one, hosting out of town family or friends and holding business dinners of various sizes from a small table to a private room. The service is always topnotch, attentive but not overt, anticipating needs, etc. There is street parking and a garage - the restaurant happily validates.

I'm obsessed with Pastaria and everyone needs to know it. Carbs are a love language and this spot is full of them. One of my friends wanted to get together when she was in town for a girls dinner, and I loved that it was so easy to make a reservation for a large group. We had to wait a bit to get seated, but for a Friday night it wasn't wildly long. We had no issue with it! Our server was wonderful and treated us so well. We all had cocktails/ wine. They came out timely and she was very attentive. We started with apps, and we ordered the crispy risotto balls. Wowwww these were insane. The crunch, mozzarella, sauce- so great. I got a chopped salad because I'm obsessed with their salads and it was wonderful. So fresh, and I love their red wine vinaigrette. I ended up getting the cacio e Pepe and it was as amazing as I remember it the last time. The most simple things are always the best. Till next time, Pastaria! Can't wait :)

Pastaria is an awesome Italian restaurant located in Clayton and run through Gerard Craft and his group of restaurants. The overall environment is elevated but cozy and there is the Pastaria Deli and Wine shop located next door. I ordered a vodka cocktail, the Toasted Semolina Linguine, and the Arugula & Endive salad. The cocktail was light and not too sweet and both dishes of food were amazing!!! The salad was light but balanced with the goat cheese and dried cherries. The pasta was so flavorful and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. I can't wait to take friends here when they come into town!

Pastaria in Clayton is a dog-friendly gem. We brought our pup and snagged a comfortable patio table; the team greeted us with smiles and kept everything moving smoothly. Our server was fantastic--knowledgeable, friendly, and speedy (drinks and starters landed in minutes). Food hit every note: crisp, creamy arancini with zesty dips; a wood-fired pizza with that perfect soft-but-blistered crust and luscious fresh cheese; and a beautifully layered pasta that was rich yet balanced. Great energy outside, thoughtful pacing, and fair portions/prices. If you want a relaxed patio meal with standout service, this is it.

This was my spouse's and my first time at Pastaria. I can already hear you thinking... How have you not been to Pastaria? I have only myself to blame. The space felt really nice and open, yet still casual with a classy touch. I loved that we could see the kitchen from the seating area; that always adds to the experience. We went on a Wednesday night for an early dinner, so the restaurant was mostly empty. I requested to sit at the bar where the chefs were preparing food (the chef's table, always my favorite seat). We started with the Crispy Risotto Balls, which were perfectly fried with a super gooey, cheesy center. I couldn't stop eating them. Since we were at Pastaria, I had to order a pasta dish. I chose the Garganelli, which was absolutely delicious. The olives in the dish added a nice tangy contrast. My spouse had an oyster mushroom special, which I think I may have liked even more than my own dish. I'm a sucker for mushrooms. We were already full from the meal, and I knew I shouldn't, but I asked to see the dessert menu anyway. Of course, they had tiramisu, how could I say no? We ordered Mama Rodolico's Tiramisu, and it ended up being my favorite part of the meal. Even though we were stuffed, we took our time savoring every bite. We had a great experience at Pastaria. The staff was wonderful, and the food was excellent. It also seemed very kid-friendly, I noticed another table with a child using a coloring sheet and a kids' menu. We'll be back!

The Best Dining Experience We've Had in St. Louis - Hands Down…read moreMy husband and I wanted to give our dear friends who are leaving St. Louis one last unforgettable meal from their bucket list, so I immediately recommended Peno. I used to be a regular at Rosé with the same talented Chef Pepe, and his food is truly to die for. We walked in on a beautiful day and were lucky to snag a spot in their small parking lot (parking in the area isn't the easiest, but it's worth it). Our server, Harry, made the evening even better right from the start. He had such a warm, calm, professional presence--the kind that's rare these days. We instantly remembered his name thanks to a fun Harry Potter / Harry and the Hendersons reference, and he handled everything with effortless skill. When our friends had parking trouble, Harry quickly offered helpful suggestions. Then, when it was time to order, he elevated our meal in the best way possible. My husband and I got our longtime favorite--the Roberto pizza from Rosé days--and Harry suggested adding sausage and peppers. That small tweak took something we already loved and made it 1000% better. Absolute perfection. Our friend ordered the spaghetti (her all-time favorite comfort meal), and after taking Harry's thoughtful recommendation, she declared it the best spaghetti she's ever had in her life. We finished with the cheesecake. I'm extremely picky about cheesecake, but this one did not disappoint--it was creamy, rich, and flawless. This was one of those legendary meals you remember forever. The kind where you leave thinking you could die happy. Chef Pepe's food, paired with Harry's outstanding service, made it a perfect night. If you're in St. Louis, do yourself a favor and go to Peno. You won't regret it. Thank you, Harry and team--you helped create a truly special send-off for our friends!

I also remembered seeing it featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, so we figured it had to be worth a try. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, but noticed a few open seats at the bar and asked if we could sit there instead. The two bartenders welcomed us right away and told us they would take good care of us throughout the evening. My wife ordered an iced tea, and I started with an Old Fashioned. For an appetizer, we ordered the Toasted Ravioli ($14), which is handmade in-house and filled with ground beef, ricotta, and pecorino romano cheese, served with marinara sauce. It's one of the dishes featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. For dinner, my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala ($23), and I went with the Bolognese ($17), made with veal, pork, red wine gravy, cresta di gallo pasta, stracciatella, and Calabrian chili oil. The toasted ravioli arrived looking great. I tried one without the sauce first. The fresh pasta didn't fry up quite the way I expected. It was more flaky than crispy, and I was hoping for a little more crunch. The filling was decent but could have used a bit more seasoning and flavor. The marinara sauce also had a bitterness to it that wasn't my favorite. When our entrées arrived, both dishes looked and smelled wonderful. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite live up to the presentation. My wife's Chicken Marsala had good flavor overall, but the side pasta was very gummy, and the sauce again had a bitter note that seemed to overpower the dish. My Bolognese was the biggest disappointment of the evening. When I think of Bolognese or a rich meat ragù, I usually expect a wider pasta such as pappardelle. The cresta di gallo pasta wasn't my favorite choice for the dish, and it also had a gummy texture. The sauce itself suffered from the same bitterness that we noticed throughout the meal. Looking back, I probably should have ordered the Carbonara once I realized the Bolognese wasn't being served with the type of pasta I was hoping for. Overall, the meal was okay, but it didn't quite meet the expectations we had after seeing the restaurant featured on television and reading the reviews. The service was excellent, and the bartenders did a fantastic job taking care of us. While this visit was a bit disappointing, there were plenty of other dishes on the menu that looked great, and I would be willing to give Anthonino's another try and order something different.

The decor is simple, but still warm and inviting, with a view into the kitchen area. I ordered the Campagnelle Alfredo (with no mushrooms). It was excellent! Friends ordered the risotto special and the pizza and both were very happy also. The staff members were attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in. The host even asked us the name of our friend who was running late so that he could seat her when she arrived. These little things really are nice and added to our experience of feeling welcomed. I can't wait to come back for a glass of wine!

A very cute spot for dinner! Nice street parking offered outside that typically is not too busy…read more The restaurant is small smaller but they pack a lot of people in so it can be a little noisy, but it really has a nice vibe in plenty of space if you want us to sit at their bar area as well. The staff was very friendly and walked through the menu and all of the specials of the night. I liked their structure of ordering in courses. This is definitely a place to share your meal items and try a lot of things with your party. They also have a great drink menu and their espresso martini was especially tasty! I also loved their focaccia bread! We tried the brussels sprouts as an advertiser, which were very tasty.

If you can actually land a reservation, congratulations, you've won the Resy Olympics. A friend pulled some strings and got us in, which felt less like dinner and more like a heist. I went for the halibut special. It was a pesto vibe, flaky, and sitting pretty on a bed of couscous. It was giving coastal vacation energy in the middle of the Midwest. #stlouispescatarianapproved without hesitation. That said, is this all worth the reservation stress? For me, debatable. St. Louis is quietly stacked with spots that don't require a minor miracle to get a table. Now the pizzas were great. I took a few home and suddenly became the most popular person in the room. Certified crowd pleasers.
