After the review below the manager sent what I feel was a sincere apology and I do feel my situation was possibly an isolated incident. Stopped in last Saturday about 11 to a bar of maybe 10 people and found a confused bartender and a manager that was fixated on catering to three girls at the bar and ignoring the rest of the place, Waited about 5 minutes to be asked what I needed and over 5 minutes thereafter for a simple Vodka drink and a White Russian and the later was awful. 2 drinks, $28 down the drain and a lesson learned. We went to Patina 250 to avail of their pre-fixe brunch menu. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: + Great ambience + Scratch kitchen where you can see the chefs preparing your meal + Complementary Valet parking + Unlimited mimosas, Bellini, Chardonnay and merlot + Absolutely amazing burger (recommend it) Cons: - There seems to be some confusion about the valet parking. When we approached The Westin, the valet drivers seemed confused and overwhelmed. - Although the manager was great and was eager to help out, our server seemed a little slow. It took him 5-10 minutes to come over. In fact the manager started filling our water glasses and offering beverages. Overall, we had a great experience. I've had both dinner and brunch here, and more recently a special event dinner for my parents' 50th. Patina 250 is a great spot for special events. The food is consistently delicious and the service is above and beyond. They also have great touches like valet parking and a ticket system for picking up your doggy bags. The interior is also gorgeous and they even rotate the decor with new pieces every so often, so it's a fun new experience when you return. Last time I did brunch they took reservations, which is such a nice stress-free way to do brunch. read more

Tried brunch here recently with some of my girlfriends, and it was a very beautiful restaurant. I thought the portions were kind of small for the price, I had a the eggs benedict and a mimosa. I do like that they take reservations and the server was very attentive to anything the table needed. The reason for the lack of a star was for the long wait for food. If it wasn't for that we'd have given it a 5 star review. We had reservations for a special occasion and were celebrating over brunch. Typically restaurants inside a hotel are a miss but from the moment we walked in we were impressed. The decor was tasteful and elegant. The bar had a nice cocktail menu and if you order a chilled whiskey (or similar) they have the sphere ice cube maker which my husband loves. Our server for brunch Nick was awesome, he was funny, accommodating and friendly. He greeted us promptly and took our order. Our table ordered a few starters (two from the prix fixe) and our meals at the same time. The starters came out in a timely fashion and were very good. The crab cake was full of real crab and cooked to perfection. And the Caesar salad was delightful as well- the dressing was perfectly prepared. Our main courses took a long time to come out- well over an hour. The two that ordered off the prix fixe menu had their drinks flowing so they didn't notice as much, but for those that didn't order a starter they were very hungry by the time the main orders came. But- Everyone was very pleased with their dishes. (Steak and eggs, eggs Benedict, hash and eggs, salmon scramble and eggs in purgatory.) The flavor balances were good, the portion sizes were nice and the presentation was beautiful. The two things I'll mention we're the patina hash and eggs and the eggs in purgatory. The hash came with a horseradish cream which we thought overwhelmed some bites. While we know and agree its purpose was to necessary balance of flavors, it was perhaps too much at times. As for the eggs in purgatory those had some kick! Just make sure you like and realize it's a slightly spicy red sauce. I went to patina with my partner for a Sunday brunch recently. We got the prix fix for $54 which was initially more than we thought it would be. But! It was totally worth it! We both got unlimited bellinis which were delish! For appetizers I got salmon rilettes and my partner got the brioche cinnamon roll (pictured). Both were so tasty and huge!! We were full when our entrees came so ended up with leftovers (late lunch anyone??). I got the eggs Benedict and the eggs were delicious and plush and soft. The staff was amazing and attentive (they grabbed a knife for us 5 seconds after we dropped it!) Beautiful atmosphere and great food! Would recommend! read more

I had a great dinner at Patina 250 last night with my friends! I was immediately impressed when I walked in. The restaurant is decorated in a very trendy way. It reminded me of a Manhattan restaurant The booths have high furniture backs, which were very comfortable. They also provided privacy from the other tables. They have a beautiful open kitchen, which I love! The bar is also very cool looking. There are multiple lamps hanging from the ceiling, which gives it a unique and modern look! I am certain that Patina 250 would be a fun place to go for cocktails. Our table split a couple of appetizers: 1. The Portabello Fries- these were more chicken wing sized than fries! The crispy tempura battered mushroom slices were to die for, as was the tamari-ginger, yuzu dipping sauce! 2. The Potato & Leek Pierogies over a bed of fried onions and sour cream- I always love pierogies! However, these were a bit bland. I still enjoyed every bite, but I was expecting more flavor! As my entree, I ordered the NY Strip Steak, served with a buttermilk dipped onion ring. The steak comes with a Horseradish-Gorgonzola butter. My friends were raving about it. The steak was a delicious flavor and it was cooked just as we requested! We ordered sides of the Broccolini and mashed potatoes. Both were excellent! We did not have a chance to order dessert, but I imagine it would have been very good. Tip: We all used different GPS programs to find the restaurant and none of them took us to the right place! The restaurant is on Delaware Avenue, but the GPS took us to Chippewa for some reason. The restaurant is next to the Westin on Delaware, across from Rachael's Mediterranean. It was the quintessential "OK" experience. We went for brunch. Took about 10 minutes to get water and order drinks. Coffee and Bloody Mary were good. Got the burger and eggs Benedict. Wife said it was the best Benedict she's ever had. Burger was good but I saw it under the heat lamp for 5 minutes which definitely made it overdone. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate a birthday and we had an amazing time. We went all out and got pierogis, a charcuterie board, the huge steak dinner (we split it), and ended with a couple of desserts. The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable. I have been there before for drinks but never had dinner out on the patio. The patio is gorgeous, with a very relaxing vibe. Would be perfect to sit out there in the morning with coffee. Was catching up with one of my best girlfriend for a little dinner date. Wanted to share a few things, and had food envy of everything that was brought out around us. We shared the crab appetizer to start, and it was a very generous potion. Our server, Franklin, said it was one of his favorites, and also walked us through the menu with other recommendations. We shared the filet dinner and the scallops. Everything was incredible. I have also attached photos of everything. This would be my second time trying Patina 250. The first time was for dinner (which wasnt so great), decided to give them another try this time was for the afternoon Sunday brunch. I still feel like this place is way overpriced for the quality of food served. We decided to try 1 Prix Fixe for $39 which included unlimited Mimosa's. With the Prix fixe you choose 1 starter and 1 specialty. Here are my thoughts on the prix fixe... The unlimited mimosas are not so unlimited. I received a refill in my glass before I even finished the beverage ( literally took 2 sips). Then I had to "flag" our waitress down to get a true refill once my glass was empty. For the starter I ordered the jumbo lump crab cake. You must read the menu carefully because there was an additional $4 for the crab cake if ordering with the Prix fixe. The crab cake was absolutely delicious, all crab meat, so it was definitely worth it. For the specialty I ordered the chicken n waffle. I was surprised to find 2 fried chicken thighs and not the traditional breast or tender, which was just ok. The three sauces on the side for the waffles where good. We also ordered the patina hash and eggs. It was just ok, I would have preferred it without the horseradish cream. For some reason the food didn't come out hot. It was just lukewarm. Overall the presentation was nice, the atmosphere and the ambiance was beautiful as well. I feel like that's what you're paying for because the food was just average. I will not be returning anytime soon. There are better options for Sunday brunch elsewhere. read more

We chose Patina 250 as our monthly brunch location last week. We selected it because we wanted to try a downtown location. The ambiance is absolutely breathtaking! Beautiful decor, comfortable tables and plenty of staff. The atmosphere was vibrant and upbeat as you could see many people enjoying the presence of one another anf clinking c Glasses. I decided to have the Brioche french toast the crabcake and of course Unlimited Mimosas . Our waitress was very friendly and full of suggestions. I love when a server takes pride in a restaurant they work in and can assist with recommendations... Another friend tried the pancakes with blueberry compote and another had the hash and eggs with a crabcake as well. We BOTH devoured our crabcake ...it was phenomenal! We hoped there was more than one BUT unfortunately not. The flavors of the sauce on the plate added to its rich flavor. We are everything on the plate. The french toast took getting used to...especially if you have texture issues like me. But the flavor was great. We learned through our experience that some people cannot drink and maintain self control in public. There was a slight disturbance with patrons and the manager Mr Delgado was sure to make the guests comfortable and keep his customers comfortable. My husband and I are visiting Buffalo for a concert tonight. We are staying at the Westin and needed to find a place for lunch. It is a beautiful restaurant with nice wood tables and comfy chairs. The service was excellent and very attentive. My husband and I wanted lunch, but were restricted to the brunch menu. That is the only change we would have liked. I gave up alcohol for January and had a blood orange and rosemary refresher. I did not miss the alcohol and you could taste the rosemary. My husband got the chicken salad and I got the roasted tomato soup and salmon board. The roasted tomato soup was perfectly seasoned and buttery with the herb oil. It had the right amount of heat from the red pepper flakes and the soup had the perfect creaminess. It even came with a cheese puff. The salmon board was a perfect size. The salmon was Smokey and delicious. It came with herbed cream cheese, seasoned bagel chips, picked onions, and roasted tomatoes. It was exactly what I was looking for, something satisfying and not a huge portion. We would definitely come back again! We had a great time dining at Patina 250 on Saturday night. I like that there is a valet service. Our meal was delicious and our server Taylor was awesome. We were promptly seated upon arrival in a booth as we had requested. Taylor greeted us and took our beverage orders. We immediately found her to be very friendly and outgoing. We each had the soft shell crab appetizer and found it to be very good. I was almost tempted to order another one but didn't want to fill up before dinner. I chose the sea bass and my wife chose the chicken. We both found our meals to be very good. Taylor had suggested the brussel sprouts as a side. We hadn't considered a side as our meal descriptions seemed adequate. However after her description of them I had to try them. I usually like brussel sprouts but my wife is not a fan. Taylor said that she would like how they are prepared. She was right. These were the best brussel sprouts I've ever eaten and my wife did like them. They were fried and had both a sweet and salty taste to them. The portion given was very generous and even after eating several each we still had leftovers. My mom flew in to visit for a day and we decided to step it up a notch for dinner. We both were craving a steak dinner picked Patina 250. I figured it would be a nice, upscale venue since it's in the Westin downtown. When we walked in, I was amazed by the size of the restaurant - it is very spacious, even the cocktail/bar area. There were many young professionals who must have just gotten out of work and were all having drinks together. Despite the number of people in the place, it was never too loud. We were seated in the back of the restaurant - there are large booths set up along the wall with a view of the front of the restaurant. Our waiter immediately introduced himself and gave us a drink menu - my mom had a vodka and I picked one of their specialty cocktails and we were very pleased. After briefly reviewing the menu, we decided to share the 34 oz Rib eye and ordered it medium well. The steak took a little longer than expected but it did not bother us much. Once the big, beautiful steak arrived at our table, we were ready to go! The steak came with side sauces, but it was not necessary - we ate it as is. It tasted delicious and it was nice and tender. We did notice that the center of the steak seemed a bit fatty, but we basically ate around it - that was the one negative about our meal. All of this said, I will definitely return to Patina 250 either for a relaxing happy hour or an upscale dinner with friends. The food was delicious and very creative in its combination of flavors. I would recommend dinner to any and all "foodies". The following evening I had pan seared sea bass. Delicious! This is a fancier restaurant good for going out with a few people. The booth was secluded and made it seem like you were having a private dinning table. The menu is quite small so not much to choose from, but there is an array of different dishes. The crispy cauliflower and the portobello fries were a great starter and enough to share with the 5 of us. The Roasted chicken was seasoned just right. The filet mignon was alright for the price. The lamb was said to be delicious. The sea bass was flavorful and tasty. I think the prices are high for what you get. The waiter made sure we had our drinks filled, but didn't have much of a personality. We had room for dessert so we got the black berry chocolate chip ice cream, lemon cheesecake, and the nuts and berries milkshake. Gorgeous inside with a fabulous wine list and a very good menu. The service was friendly, but the waiter seemed not to know the menu very much. He was not able to answer questions without going back to the kitchen.... and then he would disappear for a very long time (and the restaurant was pretty empty on a Thursday night). We started with a couple of glasses of very good Malbec.... and then proceeded to a shared appetizer of Baked House Made Ricotta (topped with roasted grapes and served with toasted sourdough bread). It was a flavorful start to our meal. And the portion size was more than enough for two to share. For entrees we decided to share the Seared Diver Scallops (with onion soubise, mushrooms, charred baby lettuce, toasted garlic vinaigrette, and leeks). The scallops were perfectly cooked, and the flavors of the dish melded perfectly)..... and the 12 oz. Prime NY Steak Served with shoestring french fries. The meat (flown in from Chicago) was tender and flavorful and cooked perfectly. The potatoes were thin and crisp and well seasoned. You need to enter through the hotel entrance and make your way passed the checkin desk. Contemporary look and feel, staff is well dressed. Average person is also well dressed. Food is a variety of fair but everything was excellent. Significant effort was made on both taste and presentation. Service is prompt and attentive. Menu is short and sweet, one pager, and the seafood (which there is plenty to choose from) was prepared to perfection. Lots of fun twists on the menu and the overall experience was very positive. I was invited here for a lunch date with my coworker. I never even heard of this place and its been open for a few years. It is located in downtown Buffalo near Chippewa located inside the Westin Buffalo hotel. You really have to pay attention to find this place if this is your first time visiting. There is a valet parking area as you walk in through the side door on the right side of the restaurant, not 100% sure if you can utilize it for the restaurant or if its just for the hotel. I just parked and paid at the meter on the side street on Delaware Ave. Patina 250 is a very upscale and sophisticated restaurant. I was impressed when I walked in. I thought to myself this looks to nice, it has to be part of a hotel or something, which I did not know prior to visiting. The food and wine was absolutely delicious. I had the Salmon, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potatoes. I enjoyed every bite took the left over home and ate the rest for dinner. They have weird hours of operation. They close for an hour or more in-between every meal served. Do be aware before visiting. They offer a breakfast buffet daily from 7a to 10a. Lunch is served from 11:30a to 1:30p and dinner from 5p to 9p/10p depending on the day of the week. Great experience! read more

Hubby brought me here for my birthday weekend and we had Sunday Brunch. When I say it was SOOOO good!! We took advantage of the starter and main dish special which came out to be about $39 each. I ordered the crab cake and when i say it was hands down THEE best crab ale I've ever had!!!! Omg it was so amazing. For my main dish it was hard to choose but I finally decided on the flatbread of the day. Hands down best flatbread I've had in a seriously long time!!!!! Hubby ordered a salad and salmon scrabbles eggs and he really enjoyed it. For my birthday he surprised me with a brownie and wine. Over this was the best food I've eaten in Buffalo in a long time. I was brought the wrong meal and it took so long to get my eggs, that the rest of my party was finished eating. The eggs and salmon were tasteless and everything else looked just ok. Having been a waitress many years ago, I do know you don't grab glasses and coffee mugs where people put their lips. Yuck! I attended a brunch with a large group for a friend's birthday. At first I was impressed b/c the place was very nice and the menu looked great. They have a prix fixe option for brunch, which includes unlimited mimosas, bellinis or choices of wine, a starter, and a main entree. Most of us chose this option and at first, the server was fairly attentive at refills, but then slowly was harder and harder to find. We asked that they leave the pitchers on the table to make it easier, but said they couldn't do that, they couldn't even leave water pitchers on the table, and the water glasses were tiny, so required many refills. After ordering, it took an hour for our starters to come out, where half of them didn't even need to be cooked. The main entrees were then another 30-40 minutes after that. The food was the best part of the trip, but several people had things burned, like the toast, or pizza crust. Several eggs were overcooked, but most of us thought it was good. Our server was not attentive at all, and several times, we had to go find him or have someone else tell him we needed him. We were there for 3 hours, far longer than any of us expected. It took forever for us to get boxes if needed, then trying to pay so we could leave also took way too long. For a nice place, I'd expect exceptional service, and it was very subpar. The food was good. The problem was- I went on the website and made a reservation. I called 15 minutes after they opened to make sure it 'went through' and nobody answered the phone. So- I just went with it. I got a reminder on my phone re: my reservation AND a text saying my table was ready. Well guess what- shocker- no reservation had been made. I showed up with my daughter and they were only able to seat us at the bar. The hostess apologized and said my reservation had been made through Open Table and that it was not reliable. I said that the Patina 250 website itself directed me to use this. Unreal. Well, we sat at the bar. Me and my 17 year old. Won't be back. And lesson learned- don't use an online reservation, and if the restaurant doesn't answer the phone- it's a sign about the experience I'll have. read more

Overall a mixed experience with this hotel restaurant. All my visits were for breakfast. The first was wonderful. With nothing on my schedule, I was able to spend a full hour eating and enjoying breakfast, talking with my waitress, and enjoying the decor of the restaurant. I had ordered the egg white omelette, which is a very large portion (4-5 eggs maybe even...) filled with cheese, mushrooms, and spinach. Served with a side of wheat toast and fried tomatoes, it was a perfect wake-up meal. My second experience was ordering a very simple breakfast - 2 eggs scrambled and a side of toast - to go. I'm not sure what the issue was ( a lack of communication, a lack of eggs and toast, whatever) but my meal took 15 minutes with no one in the restaurant. A bit frustrating, but I like to forgive and forget. And now this morning, while I write this, i'm eating a great meal of avocado toast and scrambled eggs. May be on the pricier side for Buffalo but it's comparable to other cities and the portions were large. We had a waiter/bartender named Michael who was such a pleasure. Not only was he an attentive waiter, but he had such a wealth of knowledge of the history of Buffalo. He was very interesting to talk with. Made the experience that much better! Went here last night for a date night. We sat in the lounge which was very cozy. The ambiance is great- very chic and swanky but cozy. Felt like we were in Chicago or NYC. The decor is beautiful and modern. The bar is lovely with a large tv, coat/purse hooks below every stool, and an outlet with USB ports below almost every bar stool. They seem to have thought of everything! Kevin was our server and was very knowledgeable and friendly. He anticipated our needs before we could even think of them. Excellent service!! We started with the mussel pot and it was delicious! Just the right amount of heat. We then did the tomahawk steak for two. Presentation was lovely and it was cooked PERFECTLY (medium/medium rare). I drank a Delaware Mule and it was delicious. Everything was beautifully presented. The only criticism that we have was that the broccoli rabe was charred and not edible (in my opinion). My fiancé is a beer head and was also slightly disappointed in the beer selection, but he still was able to find something that he liked. As for pricing, I believe the price for the quality of food and service that you get is appropriate. The portion sizes were large and I did not feel "cheated" by the price to food ratio. This is definitely somewhere that I would go back. They have a nice private room which would be perfect for a group and with their phenomenal service I imagine that the event would go fantastic. You are treated like royalty the minute you walk in. Staff is very friendly and attentive. We loved the salmon scramble. Also ordrered the salmon cake, which was also very good. It was just a bit on the small portion for the price, (was definitely filled with a good amount of crab, though.) With a bloody Mary, and refills of coffee, the bill came to a bit over $60.
