I love their light, buttery scones with the light layer of not-too-sweet icing. And their egg bites? The selection varies, and it's always really good. We finally had time to sit down and order breakfast. I had the Hawaiian fried rice, while my husband had the loco moco. Meanwhile our daughter devoured her spam musubi. So good. I went to a poke spot in burien and picked up a Chantilly cake and when I tell you it was the best Chantilly cake I've ever had, I am not lying. Any-who I called in this morning to see if they had any and then I asked where they got it from and they told me "Patrick's cafe" and you know what I did, I called Patrick's and placed 6 of them on hold. The hubs and I stopped in yesterday for some brunch to go - I ordered Portuguese sausage, eggs over easy and rice and he ordered the loco moco. Both of our breakfasts were delicious!! OMG. The best frosting to cake ratio on the Chantilly Cake. Moist chocolate cake layers with equal amount of that yummy cooked buttercream-type frosting in between and on top. So perfect that you can separate the layers and have the perfect bites. Spam musubi are just how I like them - furikake mixed in the rice, scrambled egg and browned Spam. I contemplating on writing this.... After hearing good things about this place, my little family and I thought we should try this out on Saturday and did not have a great experience with the food. Customer service though was good! But the food wasn't. I found hair in my biscuit and gravy not once but twice. The first time I informed them and they asked if I wanted another one, I said yes cause I didn't get offered a refund but I asked if I can get it to go because I was disgusted and didn't want to eat again. Every time I come to this cafe I'm blown away by the flavor and different items they have. The first time I came I tried the mac salad and lilikoi cookies. Mac salad took me right back to the islands! Today I tried the Lumpia and the POG cake and it was SO GOOD!! Lumpia was crispy with a nice pork filling and veggie balance. The cake though was so flavorful and the whip cream was just ridiculous. The man who helped me today which I would assume was the owner was so kind and welcoming. House, like literally, a house, it's a small diner like establishment, clean and the space was well used. The service.... Efficient and sweet. ... We came to sample the Chantilly cake.. it's my favorite, and ... I'm sorry paradise bakery, but these guys have you beat! The cake is home in a bite. While we were there, I saw the Hawaiian plate.. for a reasonable price, all in all, not bad ... Could use little more salt, and the Mac salad... Meh... But overall, it's a good homage to our home. I also got a guava cake... I prefer paradise bakery on this one, but that's not to say I wouldn't order it here. It's all about the Chantilly cake.. Placed an order online for a 6" cake. Within an hour had called me and emailed me to firm up the details making me incredibly confident that he would be able to recreate a wedding cake topper for our wedding anniversary. Patrick was amazing! When I asked for a cake filling that they don't typically offer (raspberries) he offered to use fresh raspberries and when I picked it up a few days later even though someone else was working the front counter he came up and explained his process. I could tell that he took a lot of care and details to it. It also tasted even better than it looked, light, airy and sweet. It made an amazing anniversary gift. They did not ask how I wanted the burger cooked, and it came well-done, but no complaints on that. The gravy was not outstanding, and in Hawai'i, gravy is a food group. Patrick's bakery catered my husbands surprise birthday party last weekend and everyone LOVED the lunch and the chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and raspberries! Patrick and staff were wonderful with planning and follow through. I highly recommend the pineapple chicken, Kahlua pork and cabbage, fried rice, sandwiches on fresh baked rolls and the garden salad was delightful with creamy Asian dressing. It is wonderful being able to support such an amazing business to our neighborhood!!
