Ah this is the best pasta I've had in Austin so far. When I first moved to Austin in May, Patrizis was highly recommended by new friends I met at a run club. I have visited twice now, and both experiences were great. The location itself is kind of hidden and you may not be able to find parking right in the lot. I parked a few streets away last time in the residential area. You check out the menus while in line and then place your order at the counter. They give you a number and you go find your seat outside (or there are a couple tables inside the Butterfly Bar). Both visits I got the bruschetta and I am obsessed. This is the most perfect focaccia bread and the toppings changed from the first time I visited to most recently. The eggplant caponata topping is my new favorite. You get 3 large slices and we contemplated getting an extra order to take to go. The pesto is my favorite! I tried half regular pesto and half red pesto, and this time I just got the full order of Leopold's pesto. Delicious. The noodles, the sauce, chef's kiss. My fiance got the carbonara and loved it. Phenomenal first visit to Patrizi's. I've been meaning to try out this pasta palace for a couple of years now, but noodles have never been a #1 food for me, so I'd been putting it off. That said, I may now be a believer because the pasta I was privileged with on this Friday evening was near on life changing. Haha but for real, I was incredibly impressed. The service was fantastic and the wait wasn't bad at ALL. We were expecting it to be rough on a Friday evening, but there was almost no line at all around 6pm. We got the focaccia sampler, a meatball, a side salad, and the Karah's Diavolo (lemon, egg, rosemary, red chilis and grana padano cheese). The pasta was fresh, perfectly sauced, and beautifully presented. We also LOVED that you can order half-portions! The meatball was likewise among the best I've tasted. The focaccia was rich, perhaps could have used a bit higher ratio of toppings to bread, but I'm definitely just looking for areas to be constructive. The seating area was really nice. Covered and cooled with misters, and it felt nice and hidden away in the bustling east side neighborhood. Patrizis has such a great vibe. This is a food truck housed at the vortex. The service was super friendly, a worker was walking down the line asking if we had any questions and just chatting. The vortex is nicely maintained with mainly tables with umbrellas. Our food came out in like 15 min. The carbonara pasta is fresh and flavorful. I had the panzanella salad that was a special, the veggies were fresh and I loved the light dressing. This is a great place for a casual dinner. This place is delicious. Can't go wrong with any of the menu items and the service can be pretty quick. It is out of a truck so the line to order can get long and it's only outdoor seating so take that into consideration when going out to eat in the Texas heat. read more

The noodles are quality, crafted, homemade noodles that are scrumptious. I got the diovolo with honey. It was very good but a little too spicy for me; however, my daughter loved it, and I loved her pomodoro! The outdoor ambiance is classic Texas! I will absolutely be back. read more

SERVICE/AMBIANCE: Patrizi's is a food truck that serves up great, fresh pasta! There is a lot with parking and there's also street parking as well. Our food took around 15 minutes to come out, but it can take longer on days when it's pretty busy. FOOD: I got 2 half sized sized portions. My favorite was Karah's Diavolo. It had a refreshing lemon flavor and it was also spicy. The Great Leopold was essentially a basil pesto pasta and it was also good too. I got a side of the grilled chicken for protein and it was very tender and juicy. First time trying this spot--and it definitely won't be the last! We ordered the Diavolo pasta with a double portion of chicken, Pomodoro, Pesto pasta(can't remember the name/was the special), garlic bread, and bruschetta. Everything was fantastic from start to finish. I'm still thinking about the bread they use for both the garlic bread and the bruschetta--so soft, fresh, and flavorful. If I had to choose between the two, the garlic bread wins for me. The Diavolo pasta was chef's kiss! The lemon zest added a perfect touch of brightness that elevated the whole dish. Huge shoutout to Connor working front of house--he was super helpful with recommendations. His tip to add a drizzle of honey to the Diavolo was a game-changer. I absolutely love Patrizi's! We went on a Saturday night during dinner time and the line was no joke. Definitely be prepared to wait in a long line over the weekends. I really liked the different spots you could eat your food, including a back patio, indoor porch area, and large front patio. Every dish we got had amazing flavor and you could tell it was all homemade. I highly recommend the garlic bread as well, it has large chunks of fresh garlic and is very savory. Wow! Never expected to find some of the best cacio e pepe I've ever had at a food truck. I've never been a huge fan of tomatoes, but they sounded interesting and I am so glad I ordered them. Highly recommend this place for dates and group hangouts! The atmosphere of the Vortex is incredible with open seating, delicious food, and the Butterfly Bar for mixed drinks and canned beers. Patrizi's itself is a dime! What I Recommend - Karah's Diavolo (best item on the menu in my opinion). This pasta has a slight spice but flavors meld together so well! - Their Meatball!!! - I know it's an expensive with it being five dollars per meatball, but that flavor is undeniable. Literally one of the best meatballs I've ever had. Succulent. Perfectly seasoned and paired with a robust tomato sauce. Highly Recommend. - Their Blackberry Cornmeal Dessert - OMG this thang is good!!! Mascarpone on the bottom of a bundt style cornmeal cake drenched lightly in simple syrup and blackberry confit and garnished with mint leaves. Need I say more? Just get it. What I Don't Recommend - The Garlic Bread - I have told this to a few people and actual gasps came out. Apparently, apparently this is a fan favorite, but my experience was very subpar. There was way too much Parmesan (which I felt had a weak flavor to it regardless) and the garlic was extremely cold with the bread being slightly warm. I just felt like the different temperatures and the amount of ingredients just did not pair well. - The Bruschetta - also another gasp when I tell people this. My experience with the bruschetta was mid at best. I felt like there was zero flavor and especially for the price was incredibly underwhelming. - Their Chicken - if you are going to get a protein, get the meatball. I've had the chicken twice and both times it was dry. It doesn't taste bad, just meh and I think does the experience a huge amount of injustice. Overall: I have lived in Austin for about five weeks and have already been here three times. The pasta mixed with the vibes is totally worth it. The main reason for the four stars is that I have been slightly disappointed by a few of their items so I feel I want to set expectations well for people that if they get the appropriate things, it's a five star experience. Fun pasta food truck in a laid back environment! Pretty much all outdoor seating, so recommend coming as the weather cools down. Food: Split 2 pastas, the meatball, and a bruschetta trip amongst 3 people! Plenty of food to share. The flavors are so homey and hearty, and the pasta is incredibly fresh. Expect a wait for the pasta during dinner time though, we got our bruschetta first and then had to wait around 20-30 min for the pasta to come. Service: So welcoming when you arrive and they explained the menu as we were first timers. Pretty much self serve once you sit down and there's places to grab your own water cups. It was good pasta! When I got there, there was a bit of a line. We ended up waiting 30 minutes before we could order. I got the Cacio e pepe with chicken, garlic bread, and one of the red sauce pastas. The garlic bread was great. The bread was crispy, and the garlic paste was strong and we were given a heaping serving of it. The cacio e pepe was just alright. It was a little one note and was easy to get tired of quick. The chicken on it had come out undercooked. Parts of it were raw and pink. However, as soon as I brought it to the attention of my server, they were able to get another plate out for me quickly. The real star of the night was the red sauce pasta. The cheese on top of it had a sort of lemon zest/ flavor on top of it that absolutely took it over the top. It really added to the complexity of the flavors within the dish. I absolutely enjoyed it and would order that dish again. I like how the pasta is homemade, and everything is very fresh. While that certainly does mean waiting a little longer for your food, it's worth the wait for the most part! The ambiance is great. There is only outdoor seating, and during the winter, they have several heating lamps in the semi-covered outdoor seating area. It is typically very lively and full in the seating area. The service is great. As I said above, my chicken had been undercooked, and they brought me out a new plate and removed that dish from my bill as well. They were also very attentive when we needed utensils or napkins. Parking is fairly easy. The Vortex lot is usually full, but there is street parking nearby. Overall, I'd give this spot a 7.5/10. I'd come back for the red sauce pasta and to potentially try another dish. read more

He then proceeded to try and argue with me and called me rude! When I ordered dessert, I was told it was on another table! I said I would like to eat it where I am. Patrizi's is next to the Butterfly Bar if you want to get cocktails or wine after ordering. The menu has so many great options. My husband and I weren't too hungry, so we shared a pomodoro. WOW. Patrizi's is an Italian food truck and an Austin staple. Along with the Butterfly Bar, it's part of the Vortex, a live theater venue with extensive outdoor seating. I tried their red sauce pasta, which is made with pork trimmings, herbs, and Grana Padano cheese. I added a meatball, which paired perfectly with the sauce. I also had their roasted beets with cheese, which tasted very fresh. I finished with a huge slice of perfectly creamy tiramisu. All of this was shared between two people, and we were both full by the end. The food is amazing, service is friendly, and the atmosphere is laid-back. If you're thinking of trying it out, I have three recommendations. First, come early, around opening time. The free parking lot fills up fast, and the line to order can get long. THE BIG: Located in The Vortex co-op off of Manor Rd. Completely outside dining area with order as you go. Parking lot available but fills up quickly. No reservations needed. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I have been wanting to come to Patrizi's for a while and we finally did the deed. TL;DR - it did not disappoint. Menu option is quite small which is easier to make a decision. We just had tacos beforehand so we weren't feeling too hungry so we opted to get the pomodoro (tomato sauce) pasta. The fettuccine was perfectly al dente and the sauce w/ ricotta complimented so nicely. They had a guy come around sharing the deets about the specials for the day. There's also a $55 special where you get to try a few apps, 3 half plate pastas, and a dessert which is a steal. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for a pomodoro was ~$16. Great price, great Italian food, and great ambiance. We will be back again very soon :) read more

The pasta is handmade from scratch and fresh, the tomatoes (and everything else) are idyllic and local, the garlic bread is chef's kiss, and the side of mushrooms is an absolute must order. Don't overlook the pasta and salad if you are dining solo, truly the best of both worlds! The worst part can be the wait to order but it is well worth it. There is lots of parking available. I'm not exaggerating when I say this but this was the best pasta I've ever had. Amazinggggg I got the cacio e Pepe and added pancetta and it was so good. My boyfriend got the red sauce with a meatball (yes it's only one but it's huge) and he loved it as well. The garlic bread is a MUST! The service was great, that was our first time and a lovely gentleman took the time to explain how it worked and gave us recommendations. The wait can be long but we happened to go on a slower night. Came here the other night for dinner with a friend and had such a nice time. I ordered the marfa tomatoes as an appetizer and the lemon thyme pasta with chicken as my main. The marfa tomatoes were so fresh and the farm cheese was incredible. I think it was a whipped ricotta but it was perfect with the tomatoes. The lemon thyme pasta was very light and I fresh. You can really tell that the pasta here is homemade and done authentically. I added chicken and it was very well seasoned and went well with the pasta. My friend got the carbonara and I tried a bite and thought it was great. It was nice and salty with the guanciale. what a delicious meal this was. i was visiting from out of town, and my lovely friend knew exactly what i'd need: a loving break from the inevitable taco overload. it's easy to find good tacos in austin, and when one inevitably reaches a limit, pasta is the next logical step. the area is super cool and very austin -- outdoors, music, random cats, lively atmosphere... it's a party in someone's backyard, and you're invited. the line moved quick, and service was friendly. love the customization options. we grabbed a couple pastas, a side and shared. everything was fantastic and fresh, and somehow not heavy even in the warm weather. wine in the theater was so reasonably priced, and the cocktails are good. recommend! read more

1/12/2024 Patrizi's 2307 Manor Rd Austin, TX 78722 I tagged along during a visit to Austin, hosted by a local restaurateur friend of my nephew on a cold January night about 8:30. We were told that there can be long lines and waits, but not on this frigid evening. The kitchen is a food truck with the modest menu on a billboard, with specials on a baby sister board. You order and pay at the window, given your paper plates and plastic utensils, tell them the location in the large outdoor eating area of your selected table and wait for your order to be delivered. Fortunately there were several propane heating towers and we were able to sit under one so we were comfortable. You can get alcohol at the adjacent entertainment bar. Overall, everything was very good and health oriented, mostly some form of fettuccine with fresh vegetables and salads. Flavors were very light and refreshing although a little on the salty side. This is not a place for heavy protein dishes like meatballs, sausage and seafood; definitely no Cioppino. A nice place for a healthier Italian food change of pace. But since I prefer the heavy protein, probably no repeat for me. read more

There's a reason I've been coming back to Patrizi's year after year for 4 years now, and it's their absolutely delicious pastas!! I swear, I've tried every single pasta on the menu, and most of the sides. Everything is so so good! Attached to this review is a relatively new ragú they've come out with, and my most recent favorite! I prefer to order for take-out, that way I can skip the lines in person. Since the food is so good, the lines can get long! However, take-out is typically ready within 20 min depending on availability, so that's always a good option. There's plenty of parking available on-site, as well as tons of street parking nearby, all free. Patrizi's also often brings local musicians to play, creating a really awesome vibe for those who wish to dine-in! All in all, 10/10 and should definitely be added to your list!! read more

It wasnt bad by any means but they are average, nothing crazy to write home about. I had the lemon thyme pasta and meatball on the side. The pasta was dry and meatball was soft but tastes too tomato-y, acidic and lacking a balanced flavor. Their garlic bread is good but is a little heavy/fatty. Seating was mostly outdoor with covers, we had rain that day so the wind and rain was splashing us a bit. You ordered at the counter and staff will bring the order to your table. Great food while it's warm but the pasta doesn't taste good the next day or reheated. I'd recommend the garlic bread especially. The line at this location does take forever so don't go if you're not ready to wait an hour plus to order your food and then get it. Luckily, you don't have to worry about finding a seat before you order since they have a server that'll seat you and bring the food to you.
