Disgusting. I've ordered from here 6 or 7 times because I always give a place a shot before I review them. They take absolutely 0 pride in their food. You have so much competition and yet you just throw food together and no love or pride goes into it. The pizza is undercooked and the ingredients taste cheap and pre made. Flying in from California, it was all I could think about. I needed that big thick pile of meat inside me so bad I couldn't stand it. It was so hot and juicy. The cheese steak was just as plump and tasty as I remember it from my youth. The moment I wrapped my quivering lips around its girth I could tell this was going to be a wild night. I took every inch of that monster with the enthusiasm of a school girl. Devouring it down to the last mushroom, I swallowed every hot gob of American cheese leaving nothing behind. This place has seriously lost its edge since the ORIGINAL Pat left the business. My grandparents have been going there since it open and they order maybe once a month now, down from 4 days a week. My moms nine siblings, my aunts and uncles will only go there out of a morbid curiosity for what happened to a local landmark. The new owners don't hand toss any dough, like pat used to. That's where great pizza starts. The philly is hard to phuq up, but having worked the grill a couple years the co owner knows the correct ingredients and who to buy them from to continue living in Pats shadow of incredible culinary masterpieces. Pizza here is mediocrity at its best. Downhill doesn't accurately describe this new apparition of quality cuisine. More like exponential landslides have occurred. Dont waste your money. Instead buy from the gelato next door, not Ritas. Pat owns them, and the entire building its a part of. One son is a lawyer in that building. I remember trying a Pat's Cheesesteak back in the late 70's for the first time and thinking it was the greatest thing I ever tasted, which at about 9 or 10 years old was probably true. Up until Pat sold the place, I considered their number 732 892 1018, the phone number to Nirvana for a fat guy like me. The place is not the same as it was back then but I have found no other place that makes a better cheesesteak even if they are not quite as great as they they used to be. So why the 5 star rating? I have tried cheesesteaks everywhere (including Philly) and though some come close, nothing beats a cheesesteak from Pat's Pizza in Point. Many places around here think throwing a couple of Steakums on the grill, putting it on bread, dropping a couple of pieces of cheese on top and baking it in the oven is a cheesesteak. That is HORRIBLY wrong. At Pat's they season the meat and then chop it up. They throw the cheese on top of that plus the mushrooms, onions, etc and keep chopping and dicing it on the grill. Every bite usually has that melted cheese with the meat! The result is generally Amazing. Folks from Philly will tell you a Philly cheesesteak is provolone or cheez whiz. If you just ask for a cheeseteak here they will give you White American cheese. I personally prefer this method. However if you want it, they will do provolone. If your thing is Cheese Whiz I am not sure as I am not a fan but you can ask. As far as the other food goes, I rarely get anything else and if I do it is the pizza. I will let someone else advise you on this, I think it is way better than average but I can't expound upon it like I can on their cheesesteak which is still definitely the best on the Jersey Shore. read more

Oh..oh.. Change of owner. Usually when you have an excellent establishment this doesn't bode well. Case in point: about a week ago I went to get my mussels marinara fix and when I got home, it was half the size of what I usually get. No change in price, of course. I can't say that the flavor was noticeably different, but there was some grit from sand, which I never encountered here before. Went back again and noticed that some of the familiar faces were absent again. Suspicious, I asked if there had been a change of ownership and my worst fears were confirmed. I ordered a meatball sub and it wasn't bad, but not up to previous standards. Haven't tried the cheese steaks (their specialty) yet, but to be fair, it's still better than 80% of the sub/pizza joints in the area, but alas, this is another passing of a local icon :'( read more

This place should just be called Pat's Cheesesteaks. I had heard of the cheesesteaks here for years and finally got around to trying one. Result: ended up going two days in a row. Got mine with Provolone, L, T, O and mayo. Topped it with garlic powder and red chili fakes. They work pretty quickly, there is plenty of seating available, along with two TVs to entertain while you wait. This place is solid. Definitely a go-to spot while visiting the shore. read more

There is always a decent proportion of cheese throughout the sandwich unlike at other places. They also retain there heat when wrapped up; as I have traveled a few hours with them and still enjoyed them afterwards. In the summertime, when the Jersey shore gets busy, its nice to go to a local place that gets you good food for at a good price without having to wait for a table. While it does get crowded there is plenty of seating and plenty of people ordering takeout. Fortunately, Pats has more than enough employees to wait on you. Pat's has great cheesesteaks, great pizza and great sandwichs. You really cant make a bad choice at this joint. I have been there many times and have always had an enjoyable meal.
