Best cheesesteaks around and pretty good pizza, I just wish they had delivery!

Pat's is the go-to place in Point Pleasant for Cheese Steaks and Pizza. Their White Pizza with sliced tomatoes is the best I have ever had. The cheese steaks are full to the brim with meat and cheese, and on delicious rolls. Well worth the wait, cheap, and delicious! They do not deliver, and if you're heading in there on a weekend, be prepared to wait a little bit for your food, it's a busy place. read more

Pat's cheese steaks are among the best in the area. Large cheese steak with mushrooms was a staple of mine for far too long. It was a family-owned-and-run business for years, not sure if the same family still owns it, but the pizza, hot/cold subs and cheese steaks remain the best in Point Pleasant. read more

I was thinking about proposing the idea to them and quitting my job as a hedge fund manager to be their delivery guy. The cheesesteak is very good and I always ask for provolone on it. I suggest you do the same. The pizza is a solid 7/10 due to its inconsistent nature. When ordering on a Friday or Saturday evening call early before five or prepare to battle congestion. Honestly there is nothing wrong with this dish and the culmination of seasoning/spice, chewy texture, ratio of cheese to dough... My boyfriend raved about this place the whole drive from NYC to his hometown. When I saw the beat-up looking building, I got a little nervous, but it was jam packed, so I figured they couldn't be all wrong. WOW. Just wow. Got the cheeseteak with sauce and it blew my mind. Also got one of the focaccia rounds and that is a little bit of heaven in your mouth as well. We took home another cheesesteak and ate it the next night - just warmed it up in the oven and it was still damn, damn tasty. I order the thin crust pizza to go, and when I eat at Pat's I usually order the Meatball sub, which is awesome too! Apparently this place has changed hands and the menu featured on this site is no longer in use. After driving there and ordering from the online menu, we learned they do not have most of the items shown, including entrees, wraps and pitas. The cheese steak barely had cheese and the turkey sub was not fresh turkey. Their attitude was extremely poor as well. Not worth the trip. read more

I visit occasionally as I live in town but I must say very overrated . The Cheesesteak everybody says best the Jersey. Far from it,, first of all the bread is stale and dry and not fresh not that great at all and is nothing great about the steak either. I think pizza express way better authentic Philadelphia cheese steak. Everything on their menu is really good and priced very very fair in a service is fast. Although the cheesesteaks are amazing, the staff needs to be more courteous. There is no obvious "line", so some customers have ordered already and are waiting, while others are waiting to order. So, if you walk in thinking all are just waiting for their order, you get yelled at that there is a line! Maybe get rid of the tables in the ordering area (since you have a dining room) and make 2 separate lines - one for pick up and one to place an order! Will not be going back any time soon since I literally got yelled at by the guy behind the counter. read more

Gotta add my vote for the best cheese steak ever! They are still as good as they were 25 years ago. Cheese steaks are the only thing we would order from here, so I can't comment on the other food. For the cheese steak, think of a steak um perfectly caramelized on their well seasoned cook top (well seasoned in the sense of worked in for having made hundreds of thousands of cheese steaks). I get mine with onion, mushroom, and sauce and I can hear the angels and horns when I bite into it. The grease from the "meat", combined with the cheese, sauce, onions mushrooms and soft roll makes it something memorable. The caramelized flavor, together with the salty and creaminess of the cheese is a perfect combination. Love Pat's and remember back in the day when it was only 1 storefront. Pat would give out numbers when placing a phone order and you'd walk in and say the number and there was no correlation to the order. I think their cheesesteaks are very delicious. I do however have an issue with their pizza. I like my pizza well done. I've order many pizzas there well-done and they come out with a very pale crust and undercooked. I also question why they give you a number because each and every time you get there to pick up the order, the girl asks for your number then asks what you ordered. Only 4 stars b/c there was little to no cheese on the 4 whole cheese steaks I ordered last Thursday night. I have been getting amazing cheese steaks from Pat's for over 25 yrs. I am def disappointed and I complained to them today and got no satisfaction. I ordered a cheesesteak from this awful place and the guys who cooked it burnt the bread, no big deal, stuff happens. I asked that they transfer the cheesesteak to a new loaf of bread, and then this happened..... I watched these 2 men put their backs to me, and begin to pull clumps of the cheesesteak off with their fingers and put it onto a new roll. NO GLOVES & THE OWNER WATCHED THIS ALL!!! I looked at my girlfriend when they handed it to me with utter disbelief, we threw it in the garbage and walked out. The most disgusting thing I've ever seen in a food establishment for sure.
