Service here is really slow, I mean it's not a gourmet burger, they are understaffed it seems. Food was at best average, we only came here because we got a $10 add on from Mammoth for park tickets. I wanted to choose the protein with the classic you get, wasn't possible unless you pay $6. Wish they would have told us what it covered. At any rate, I would not recommend this place given the wait, this is not a great burger you wait for, it's average and it's not fast food. the patty shack was exactly what I needed after a long day of traveling! the food was hot and fresh and super satisfying! the employee was super nice and explained to us that their burgers were made from ground ribeye meat and you could tell that he was passionate about the food and it did not disappoint! Well let's start with why they would change from the smash burgers? The new menu is horrible. Leave it to Levy to cheap it up and make it taste like low grade dog food ( caddy shack reference). When I got there and was handed the kids meal, they charged me for a regular burger and then told me kids meals are only for under 12, which was never mentioned on the phone. My husband and I were excited to revisit what used to be our favorite stop on the mountain--the incredible smash burger and fresh fries. Last season, this place felt special and completely different from the typical lodge options. With the new menu, though, everything seems to have changed. The fresh fries are now crinkle-cut, and the smash burger has been replaced with a very standard burger that lacked the flavor and uniqueness we loved. It wasn't terrible, just nothing memorable. We truly hope they consider bringing back the old menu, because that version made this spot exceptional. I use to love coming here and the burgers were always amazing. However, the burgers changed. They are no longer there delicious smashed burgers that were so juicy and tender. The buns are different as well and the meat is thick, yes it can be good when thick but if it is dry and has dry buns, it's not good at all. Kinda surprised by the negative reviews. We stayed in the condos in the village this past week and ate here twice. The service was good and super friendly. Burgers were great. And the milkshakes were great. Everything is expensive everywhere now, and Mammoth is no exception. $6 for a scoop of ice cream at Hugs, $14 for Pita Pit. Would I rather spend half the money and eat at In-N-Out? Yes. But that's not an option in Mammoth. This is a tough location. Downstairs at the north end of the village probably gets the least amount of foot traffic. So, yeah, it's probably not very busy. My family and I enjoyed eating there, and we'd go back next time we're in town. read more

Everything came out in good time & THE BEST service. Everyone was so patient and fast all while dealing with the rush. This place won't last. Ridiculous prices ($15) for a tiny burger half the size of fast food. A drink? $5 more. Fries? Not included. Another $5. So, $25 for a meal where the burger is about the size of a McDonald's cheeseburger. It took forever to get the burger and when I did, it was practically cold. Go to Burgers. Bigger/better burgers, better prices, better service. The spiked milkshakes here are good, but it's not going to save this place. Hands down the place to have a great juicy burger at a more reasonable price! The portions are large enough to share including the burgers. The only drawback is the food is served in paper bags. We recently stayed at the Village condos, and decided to head downstairs to pick up a quick dinner at Patty Shack. Unfortunately, the entire family was disappointed. They are asking gourmet prices for sub par underwhelming quality. Nothing tasted fresh, most likely frozen, and they gave one in our party the wrong order. Since the Village advertised that they deliver to Village guest rooms, we made a quick call to ask if they could send up the correct order.
