I normally love Patty's eggnest, but this time visiting the restaurant on 99, I was really disappointed. It wasn't crazy busy around 10:15a on a Saturday. We were seated fairly quickly and served coffee and water right away, but after that it went downhill. "Carmen" (our waitress and perhaps the manager), took about 20 minutes to return to us to take our order. She focused a ton on another table (Latinos), refilling their coffees, bringing them additional food and catering to their needs, while completely avoiding eye contact or our table. She made sure to get the payment from another table next to us and was heading away again, when I finally asked if we could order. She almost seemed bothered and rushed to take our order. My friend is a vegetarian, and wanted the mini scramble with no meat and asked if she could get 1/2 avocado in place of the meat. Carmen outright just said no. Which we both thought was odd. Not even an up charge was offered, but no meat and no interchange? She also seemed a bit short with us. Yes we are white and she is Latina. Not insinuating, but it felt like she was much more attentive to the other tables filled with Latinos (another group arrived and were catered to immediately and with extra attention) now I'm not racist, my husband is Latino, but she was ignoring us. Once we finally got our food another 15 mins later. Again we had to flag someone down to get a coffee rewarm. I eat out frequently and recognize good service vs poor. Carmen definitely did not leave a good impression in our minds. It's too bad because it's a bright lively restaurant but I unfortunately cant support the crap attitude. We were saddened when Patty's Eggnest in Everett closed. We've patronized the Edmonds location multiples times but will stop after our recent visit. Service was practically non-existent. We had to flag someone down to take our order and for an extra plate. One of the reasons we like Patty's is their Swedish Pancakes. The Swedish Pancake Combo used to come with eggs and meat but now the 2 eggs are an extra $3.75. It also used to come with Lingonberries; what we got was a chunk of congealed canned cranberry. Our side order of fruit consisted of 6 chunks of cantaloupe that cost $6.25. I mentioned this to the cashier and she just shrugged. Farewell Patty's. I usually don't leave reviews, but this is a special case. We went on the weekend for breakfast/ lunch cause I heard they have a good Mexican dish, and I decided to give it a try. The food was good, but the service was really bad. The Person in charge had a bad attitude. She was rude most of the time we were there exchanging words between her and another employee. The rest of the staff were nice The worst nart was when we asked to have a word with the owner, or someone else general manager) she simply said she was the person and charge, and we weren't provided the name of the owner. We took a chance with the polarized reviews and we're really glad that we went to Patty's eggnest at this location. Everyone who served us or seated us was very nice. We had delicious coffee within minutes in cute mugs. I ordered senior egg scramble with cheese and bacon and my husband had the pancakes and eggs... He loved his breakfast. I enjoyed my eggs and the biscuit but was not a fan of the hashbrowns. I'm really not that big of a breakfast potato gal! Arriving at the Patty's Eggnest location in Edmonds tucked off of Highway 99 around 10:00 a.m. this morning, Friday 1 December 2023, I found the restaurant about a third to half full. I stood by the wait to be seated sign by the entrance and the hostess showed me to a two-top in the second room. Both rooms were decorated festively for the holidays. The table and seating was clean and I took my seat and looked over the menu. Looking for something to taste closer to my German ancestral roots, I opted for the 3 eggs breakfast with German bratwurst. The waitress was quick to take my order, very kind in our interactions, and the wait for my food was brief. The food was served hot with steam coming off some of the items. I went with country white bread for the toast, red potatoes with chopped vegetables, and three over easy eggs in addition to the two German bratwurst. The toast was moderate to thickly sliced with a thin layer of butter. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were tender and not oily. Firmness on the bratwurst and intense flavor made them the star of my plate. I also utilized some of the ketchup and salt and pepper for my meal. My beverage of choice was water. For payment, I received the check and sat uncertain of whether to wait and pay at a station in the room with the entrance or pay at the table. The waitress came back and said I could pay up front, so I went and paid my balance. My cash payment was accepted. Most of the tables had at least one person seated at them by the time I left. As we were being seated the waitress looked at our travel coffee cups in a disaproving manner & she pointed to a sign on the door outside (which we didnt see on our way in) that according to her forbid us from bringing in our own beverages. This immediately offended both my Husband & I. She looked so dissaproving to me that I told her we could leave. She was not kind at all. I looked at my Husband who felt the same way that I did & he suggested we leave so we left without even sitting down. It was apparent they didnt need or want our business so we left. SUPER unwelcoming staff. We wont return & we will let everyone we know not to patronize this business. No wonder many people on Yelp have very little good to say about this business. Started out pleasant enough. Carmen was very attentive and polite. Coffee was surprisingly tasty (I usually think restaurant coffee is too weak). Time frame between ordering and serving was a bit longer than expected since they weren't especially busy. But main disappointment was in the food. Omelet seemed to have all the feta dumped into one spot in the omelet and was too intense to enjoy flavor. The rest of omelet was without cheese, and dry. The hashbrowns tasted like old, or very cheap oil. This place is no longer decent or reliable and I dub thee Patty's Crapnest. I came here a couple of weeks ago craving my usual. Along with my usual (extra crispy hash browns, sunny side up eggs, sausage links), I decided to try something new, so I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy. Everything was normal until the food was brought to the table. The biscuits came out first and they were unattractive. The gravy had a strange white, almost translucent gray color to them with little bits of what appeared to be the sausage. Before I tasted it, I knew that they were not going to be good. When I sliced a piece of biscuit, it crumbled to pieces. I picked up what I could and ate it, instantly regretting doing so. Hard and stale biscuits coated in a cold, synthetic gravy which had absolutely no flavor. The "sausage" tasted like nothing. Not to mention the whole dish was cold. Please don't order this shit. It's not fit for a dog. Next, the sausage again. This time the links. I have been eating at this location for over a year now and get the same thing all the time. That day, the sausage links were unfamiliar to me. Instead of plump and juicy, they were dry and fried to complete crisp. They were crunchy and the air bubbles on the outside suggested that they were deep fried. They also tasted foul. They had a very unpleasant flavor. I couldn't eat them, so I asked the server if the cook could re-do the sausages. She took them back without saying a word and when she brought the sausages back, they were cooked exactly the same way they were before. Before the server left, I told her that these are not correct. She then began to argue with me and told me that, "this is the way they are cooked. They are always that way." I told her, "no they are not. I eat here all the time and the sausages are always good. These are burnt." Plus, this is the first time I have ever seen this server there. I was so upset that I couldn't eat so I got up to pay for food that I barely touched. When I got to the register and got rung up, I got even more upset seeing the price. 29 bucks for a bunch of inedible food. And I said just that. The server wanted me out and I could understand why. I was an upset customer and I voiced that to her. She told me, "you don't have to pay." I thanked her for comping my meal and apologized for being upset, but I also let her know that I won't be back. I'm sure the server didn't care, but I'm sure small businesses don't like to lose regular customers either. Still hungry, I left to find another place to get breakfast. Again, never eating here again, as their food has gone downhill and I'm not paying for it. 1 star because the server didn't make me pay. read more

I was told the owner does not allow their customers to bring in an outside latte. The servers were rude about the whole situation. We left immediately. I was so intent on having a Patty's Eggnest breakfast, that I waited for them to open at 7a, instead of going somewhere else that was already open. I was given a lukewarm greeting, friendly enough but not very inviting. There was nice music playing from the kitchen area. I was seated on the east side of the dining area, pretty much in the middle of the west and east dining areas. I settled in, was served coffee and given a menu. The server then turned on music directly behind me. I thought that surely they would sync the music. When it became obvious that the two competing music streams were going to continue, I very politely asked the server if they could either sync the music or turn one off. I could feel their displeasure with my request. When she headed towards the kitchen, I thought she was going to remedy the situation. Nope. She came back to where she had turned on her music, and turned her own music down slightly. I can understand if the restaurant was full of folks making all sorts of noise, sure, no one will probably notice two competing music sources. I explained to the server that I absolutely love music, but that was just too much for my brain to handle. I told her that unless something changed, I was going to pay for my coffee and leave. Her response was that it was my choice! Wow. I asked how much I owed for the coffee, even though I hadn't even enjoyed half a cup. She said not to worry about it. I left and went to a nearby restaurant where I had a lovely meal with impeccable service. This is the first time that I have ever walked out of a restaurant due to poor customer service. I always tip well, knowing that it is a demanding, often thankless job. Another customer who came in after myself, got up and left as well. All because of music! I always bring my own water in all places that we eat at, namely other Pattys Ernest locations because I can't drink tap water it upsets my tummy. The first thing they said upon greeting us by the door in a bitchy tone and loud enough for everyone to hear is we don't allow drinks from outside in a condescending way that made us feel we are bringing in something illegal! Some pleasant decor and friendly wait staff. Tables are a bit high if you sit on a bench. One room is wooden straight-back chairs, the other has upholstered chairs and benches (needs foam replaced). They serve margarine with the pancakes--butter on request. (There was a hair in the pancake--but, no change of price.) Pepper shakers have salt-shaker tops so they don't work well. FYI: You don't get a paper bill, but rather just go to the register to pay. read more

We have been to Patty's Eggnest in Edmonds for both breakfast and dinner. Yes, this location is now serving dinner! Their menu is extensive and varied - from Greek omelettes to Swedish pancakes and so much in between! The atmosphere is very pleasant - clean and with nice decorative pieces to give it a homey, welcoming feel. As an additional touch, they currently they have decorations out for St. Patrick's Day! The prices are reasonable, with good portion sizes. Their $11.95 Early Bird menu starts at 3:00 PM and goes until 8 or 9 PM. It includes dessert! The servers we had on each occasion were excellent - Mayli and Andrea are both hospitable young women who provided fast and efficient service with a smile. I highly recommend trying Patty's Eggnest in Edmonds for quality food and good service. read more

The restaurant smells like pinesol, which is not at all appetizing. Also walked in the door to a bunch of dirty tables. It is possible that we just missed a rush, but again not appetizing. The food is definitely not as good as the Bothell location, which we frequent. (Decided to try this location because Bothell closes at 2:00). We ordered Eggs the Benedict and the Biscuits and Gravy. The Benedict was ok, but the gravy on the Biscuits looked disgusting! The scrambled eggs were also a weird color. The service was also not great. The person who sat us offered coffee, but there was no creamer on the table. Our food came and the waitress asked if we needed anything else. I asked for a refill on my coffee, and she didn't come back until I was halfway through my meal yet I watched her stand around and chat with other staff and service other tables. The advertised hours are not accurate. I just came at 2:45 on a Sunday, 75 minutes before their posted closing time, only to be told that the manager had already decided to close down for the day because it was "slow." I could understand closing 15 minutes early or even 30 minutes early, but 75 minutes? This has happened more than once at this location. It's not worth going to a restaurant if you can't be sure they'll actually be open when they say they'll be open, which is also probably why their business ends up being slow. read more

Waited to be seated for some time while staff just chatted. Came for avocado toast - and after being there for 15 minutes already - told they were out of avocado. (How are you out of avocado when you're next to a Winco?) She and three of the staff stood and talked to each other for five more minutes while I figured out something else to order. There are other customers too! When she came back, and I expressed my dissatisfaction for the restaurant not having avocado, which is in several other dishes on their menu (scene: we had already been in the restaurant for 20 minutes and still only had water) The waitress got snooty and aggressive!!! I decided at that point Its MY $60 and if I want to eat timely, not have a snooty, aggressive waitress and and if I want avocado that day -I deserve it!!! We've enjoyed brunches and dinners at several Patty's Eggnest restaurants throughout the region. We first discovered them years ago when we'd stop off at the one in Arlington after picking berries. We actually live blocks from the Northgate location that was always busy but they've closed due to property redevelopment. The ones in Everett and Kenmore were always convenient and generally provided consistently good service and comfort food. Today, we were in the Edmonds area and happy we stopped in at the newest Edmonds location just off Aurora Ave North and 220th St. The initial greeter and servers were cheerful, welcoming and very efficient at taking our orders, making sure our glasses and coffee cups were full. Our scramble, club sandwich and Swedish pancakes were fresh, tasty and on point. Portions were enough for two meals each so the Eggnest value was certainly appreciated. Of the five Eggnest's we've been to, this one in Edmonds stood out as the brightest, cleanest and most delightful restaurant of them all. We could easily had driven down into Downtown Edmonds, hassled the street parking and eaten at one of the trendier hipster joints but for the ease of parking and cheerful service we'll gladly return to Edmonds Patty's anytime. read more

Based on three experiences: First visit was excellent even during a very busy breakfast service. Both food and service were good. Second visit didn't finish my meal. It was that bad. Do not order the French dip unless you enjoy cardboard. Third visit did not realize we arrived 11 minutes before close. Was abruptly/firmly told to leave because they were closed. I thought (?) a restaurant typically offered to seat you if you arrived before closing. It wasn't worth arguing and I would never knowingly inconvenience staff, but I recommend staff training - if service must be declined, it should be done in a friendly manner where the guest would want to return. Personally, I will not be returning. Always wish the restaurant well and always want people to have good jobs but after one poor meal and one rude interaction, I'm done. read more

I have been going to Patty's Eggnest for years and was so excited when they opened in Edmonds. I'm so disappointed by the rude service I receive when I go which had become a weekend routine after our family walk. Today was our last time , not only are you greeted by mean mugs when you enter but when I gave feedback on my meal that the cheese was left out of my omelette The one I order each week I was told that it wasn't but it was confirmed by my husband. I also enjoy the atmosphere of the location as well as always feel at home with the staff at all of the times I've visited. This is my favorite Eggnest location in the PNW (all the other locations are great as well, it's just this one I visit the most, so maybe I'm biased? LOL) The chefs are willing to make any accomodations as well - I was able to sub my omelettes to healthier versions (for the calorie conscious) which include egg whites. I've been to several Patty's Eggnest in the region. I was so glad this one opened up close to home but this was the e first time we've had a chance to go in. I have to say, for a chain restaurant, this is one of the better ones for breakfast. I ordered the veggie eggs Benedict. English muffin, avocado, spinach, fried egg, hollandaise sauce with hash browns. I asked to not include tomato's in mine. It was pretty delicious! Husband had Swedish pancakes. He liked his. He ate all of his and a portion of mine that I could not finish. There was one woman who waited in all the tables! She was friendly and efficient! All the tables were full. She never got flustered. This is the worst food we have had in a very long time. We had a Blue Plate Special. Fried chicken - dry, and tasteless, and overdone. Garlic bread - doughy and not garlicky. Chocolate cake was a cold, rectangular slab of brown with no frosting. It tasted like it sat in the fridge for a week uncovered, and absorbing all the other fridge odors.
