My brother and I previously frequented the Cypress location and were eagerly awaiting this new Paul's Place location's opening. Tonight my dad offered to bring home take out: The new interior is lovely - welcoming, clean, good acoustics (not too noisy) and good privacy between booths. We did wait a while for our to-go order for five people (at least 10-15 min). Many dine-in orders passed by us as we sipped our sodas. The staff were all pleasant. More than once, employees asked if we'd been helped as we continued to wait. Once our order was ready, a young lady behind the counter went over our order after it had been packaged. Unfortunately, when we got home, we discovered that an order of french fries was missing from my sister's combo - likely missed because of our two orders of curly fries in a separate box. Thankfully there were fries to spare! We each enjoyed our dinner - all meals were prepared with quality ingredients and stayed hot after a 15 min. drive. Our first experience at this new location was less than perfect, but certainly decent enough to bring us back to the friendly interior and warm staff! read more

A longtime fan of Ted's Burgers back in the day, I was so sad to see them close shop and even sadder to see the wacky 5-in-2 or whatever it was called take over. My husband and I decided to try Paul's Place out of desperation for quick, diner-style food at a place we hadn't been before. We had high expectations, since he was also a big fan of Ted's, and surprisingly, our expectations were exceeded. I had the grilled cheese and onion rings, he had chili cheese fries. The next time we went, I had the chicken strips combo (which was enormous), and he, once again, had chili cheese fries. Just as good as before! My favorite part is the insane variety of beverages to choose from...at least 7 different sodas, Orange Bang, Horchata, iced tea, and a few others. Paul's picks up right where Ted's left off--classic diner food at great prices with great portion sizes. It's as if 5-in-2 never happened. Love this place. Down to earth diner. Every time I walk in the place it is spotless and every employee is very friendly. I always get the broasted chicken that is out of this world moist and flavorful. The menu is simple to follow and prices reflect good value for what they serve. Every plate I've seen was filled huge portions of comfort food. Hell, if I lived closer this place would my business more frequently. It actually saddens me that I had to rate this one star. I had made a pick up order for my family and the food wasn't cooked until I got there to pay which was great so that it would be hot and fresh. I live 10 minutes from this location. Upon getting home, all the food was hot except the pancakes. They were ice cold and like rubber. Completely inedible. Now, the scrambled eggs that were placed with the biscuits and gravy were absolutely smothered in gravy. Now I know I have to ask those to be boxes separately if I want just scrambled eggs. I couldn't eat those either since they were complete swimming in gravy. I definitely will not be ordering breakfast from here again. I called and asked to speak to a manager and they didn't have one in the restaurant. I explained to the girl what happened and her response wasn't very helpful. We have been eating at Pauls Place for years in Los Alamitos and we're delighted when the Orage location opened, and it is never a disappointment. The burgers are awesome the bread is always fresh as well as the veggies. The dining room is beautiful and comfortable and the staff is very friendly. The gyros are my favorite as well as the Greek chicken salad with freshly grilled chicken avocado tomato Greek olives either house Greek dressing. I also love the huge breakfast burritos. Breakfast is really good here too. Large portions. I recommend this place for sure. read more

This review is strictly on their customer service today. We have made many trips from Irvine to get their broasted chicken for dinner usually on Sunday nights. Today we decided to have a celebration for my sons birthday with 16 family and friends. The diner was busy. My husband and I get in line with my FIL. They have one person cashiering and taking orders. The lady in front of us finishes ordering so my husband steps forward to give our order and Nancy the cashier, decides to say to the gentleman who was waiting off to the right and behind us if she can help him. My husband says to her we are next to order. So he starts walking towards her to place his order. My husband said we have been standing here waiting behind the lady who just finished ordering. She then tells my husband "but he's been waiting over there". OK, so because we weren't standing over where he was we are in the wrong and that other gentleman is defintley first before us? My 84 year old FIL was trying to read the menu up on the wall and that's why my husband and his dad weren't standing over where the other guy was. She didn't say sorry to us and she didn't say what can I get you or help you with. Instead she got an annoyed look on her face. So we start to give our order and she tells another girl to take the other mans order. I'm sorry we had been waiting in line for a while too but because you think we cut in front of this guy you're going to help him right away? As Nancy is taking our order you can clearly hear the total Attitude in her voice with us, She seemed annoyed that she had to help us. As the man finishes ordering his meal with the other cashier who I believe was Brianna, Nancy tells him "I'm Sorry sir". Excuse me! you're sorry that you had to take our order instead of his even though we had been waiting in line just like this other gentleman but because we weren't standing off to the right, we're in the wrong?. As I finished paying for our first round of food for our guests that were there she did not say thank you, she didn't tell me here's your number... Nothing. So I said to her, "Your welcome and that she didn't have to be so rude". her response to me'... "Im not. I'm working". As my son and his friends arrived I placed another order for them. We are waiting in line and she realizes that I'm back to place another order. She was trying to get the other girl to take our order so she didn't have to take mine. Unfortunately she had to take my order. As our food arrives for the first order only one patty melt was delivered. Because she was so annoyed she did not hear me say that I had wanted 2 patty melts for my parents. My poor dad had to wait another 20 minutes for his patty melt. The food is always good and gets an 'A'. However today, I have to give customer service an 'F'. She needs to remember she's in customer service. No matter what you should always treat your customers nice and without an attitude. We spent close to $200 today in food. We all enjoyed our food and our server who Delivered our food was excellent. He was very nice and helpful I don't know his name. Hopefully next time we come, and that is if we come back, we will take our food home like we have always done before. For our first time experience eating in at the restaurant, it did not leave a good feeling in us to try that again. Would I recommend my friends to eat in, probably not. read more

My friend and I have been to this retract multiple times an we have enjoyed their good. We went back like any another at and were sitting and waiting for our food talking with each other. We were just like any other normal family who was eating there. As we were siting down waiting for our food, the manager came over and asked us to leave because we were making her girls uncomfortable when we were simply siting there talking. I've been here a few times and each time the food tastes great. The burgers are delicious and huge. The buns in particularly good for burgers in this price range. The fries are also really tasty and there are lots of them. I doubt the average person will have room for more than a burger and fries. The staff is also very nice every time. The one complaint I have is that sometimes the order isn't exactly what I asked for (missing bacon, or patty). I don't really consider this a big deal at all. When I brought the mistake to their attention they were quick to fix the mistake on each occasion. This place is still really new so I'm sure the staff is still adjusting. Very nice place. Very clean and nicely decorated. It is a upscale fast food place. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The menus it very big, everything from salads to burgers to Mexican food. I had the colossal burger. It was a large burger and very tasty. My wife had the carnitas burrito and the carnitas was tender and the green salsa was good. The price is a little expensive but I don't mind paying more for good quality food and good service. This place had both. I will be back to try something different. read more

Feta fries were delicious, not sure about the other food on their menu. I live right around the corner from this place and it always looked packed. I need to go try their other food but those feta fries are just too good to pass up. Also, their portions are pretty huge so you have to come in with a huge appetite or just take the rest home. Went to Paul's Place at recommendation from a friend. She knows I love fried zucchini and she said this place does great zucchini. Ok, so now this this my go-to for fried zucchini. Perfectly cooked, thick wedges with a crunchy coating and Parmesan cheese shreds. Yum! Club sandwich and gyros with lamb are stuffed so much, you need to use two hands. Generous servings. Guacamole is the real deal tho the taquitos were frozen type. Very nice ambiance for a fast food counter service place. Employees are super. Once, we stayed way past closing bcuz we didn't see the sign. They patiently let us stay without kicking us out although they had every right to. We felt bad but owner should be proud of their service. No tip jar or tipping on cards but they surely deserve it. read more

Fantastic place! So glad I decided to try it out. I got their burger combo and it was delicious. The burger was great and the fries very flavorful. My mom got the chicken fried steak and she said it was really good and different than most places. The prices are affordable and their selection wide. Atmosphere is cool as well. Looking for a spot to grab lunch before heading to Disneyland, the first place we stopped was closed. Popped into Paul's and was treated to huge portions of tasty burgers and fries at a reasonable cost. Wife had the mushroom burger (it's a double party), I had the double burger, youngling had a kids meal grilled cheese (with cheddar). We all shared kidlets full order of fries. The kids meal came with milk and Oreos. All for under $20! read more

I had a very bad experience there the Mexican asada plate was awful the meat was so thin and had absolutely no flavor nor the rice when I talked to one of the servers she agreed to change my order to something but went back to the cooks and told them what I said I the cooks just stared at me which made me feel very uncomfortable i canceled my order and asked just to get my money back and was looked at by the cooks with the most uncomfortable looks ever read more
