Coffee is excellent but this is just not my kind of place. It's a bit too stylish like places in San Francisco and the prices reflect that. I think prices are inflated because in reality you don't pay for the coffee but for the atmosphere and a place to hang out. I get togo coffee so this is not for me. read more

Pause coffee is honestly the best in the area. I also like Shady coffee and tea in Roseville but when I'm in Fair Oaks this is the only spot. They sell very very expensive beans but the reality is the best damn beans in town. read more

Sorry, but I'm not getting why this place has such great reviews. Lattes were passable, bagel sandwiches weren't toasted enough & pastries were the best part. No masks on the servers. The main reason for the one star is hygiene. While waiting for my food I watched the barista drop the milk frothing pitcher on the ground, pick it up & continue to use the pitcher. She then attempted to clean up the mess, wiping her hands all over the floor & then make a drink with unwashed hands. Disgusting. read more

This place is nice. I live down the street and so I am a regular frequent customer. The customer service is great and the coffee shop is beautiful BUT because I come here frequently I notice the coffee making is pretty inconsistent in my opinion. I order the same coffee each and every time, "a vanilla latte". every time a different barista makes me the same vanilla latte, it seems to taste different every time....Some times it's overly sweet, regular and sometimes its bitter to a point where I can't drink it.... For example. If you order from Shady's coffee no matter who makes your vanilla latte. It will ALWAYS taste exactly the same every time. I'm not sure why the baristas can't be trained to make the same exact vanilla latte. Hopefully this gets fixed. Other then that, pause is awesome. read more

I went here for the first time today--& so good. I had a light healthy breakfast of avocado toast on sourdough [special request], microgreens & mini-tomatoes. Delicious. The food was good, I ordered avocado toast super simple easy on the tastebuds. The service was really great I was having trouble ordering and one of the staff was quick to find my flavor preferences and offer to make a drink that best fit my flavor palette. We moved into the area a year ago. Before we even signed the papers for our place I went to Pause for a latte and worked from the coffee shop. I was shocked on how great the flavor of the latte was. It was so good that my husband and I started going daily. We have since then tried to limit it to only a few times a week so it's a treat. We even bought their eclipse coffee because this stuff has such an amazing flavor. Favorite coffee shop in the area by far! read more

Really cool study spot, hang out spot. They have organic ingredients. Tastes great, great service and the seating is fun. Big coffee shop and free WiFi, they are working on outdoor seating as well as adding a food bar. If you are looking for real coffee go for it! read more

This location is really cute inside. They don't have a lot of coffee options. I had an iced maple latte and it was fine, I wouldn't get it again. I also wouldn't go back before the pandemic ends. It's a state mandate to wear masks indoors, when interacting with the public, and they allowed 2 men to hang out inside and wait for their drinks without wearing a mask. One of the baristas could also barely cover his top lip with his mask. Do what you want, but at least respect when you have other customers inside that you should enforce the guidelines. read more

Excellent mocha but the name says it all, Pause. You're going to be here a while. The one guy they had there this morning was super friendly and I asked him some pretty specific questions about the type of coffee blah blah... he knew his stuff. The process for getting the mochas I ordered has some great opportunity to improve. Like not letting mine sit while serving the others who had quicker cups. I could have got a pour over faster. I was there for about 10 minutes while watching others get served. I ordered 2 mochas and in 10 minutes I got one. My teenage son waited for his, but I had to go. There was really only a hand full of customers here while I was here but the woman who came in 2 behind me asking for her coffee first because she was in a hurry also gave me pause. First in that she got what she asked for second in her pretentious attitude. I won't repeat the interaction, but my expression probably resembled that Kevin Hart meme. She was throwing too much shade for 7 am to a total stranger... All in all, I'll give it another shot but I'll make sure I am not in a hurry the next time. This mocha was really freaking good (coffee and chocolate) and that pretentious woman got excellent service. read more

Stopped by to just take a little time out of my day to relax and this was a great spot. Really cool vibe inside, incredible coffee at a reasonable price, ample seating and super friendly crew. Pause Coffee House is legit! Very spacious with many tables and couches to sit, chill, or do work. I believe every table has outlets so you don't have to worry about your laptop or devices dying. Some of the tables are higher, like bar countertops, so if you want to stand up while doing work (keep your spines healthy everyone!) you are able to do so. It wasn't too busy when I went in, so I didn't have to worry about competing for a table. Not sure if I just lucked out that day or if that is the typical vibe of the place. Either way, I'm not complaining. Now the coffee. I ordered one of their seasonal Cold Brew drinks and it was BOMB. I believe it had orange peel and cinnamon in it and I downed the sucker so quick you would have thought I was dying of thirst. I also have a weakness for Chai lattes so I would like to come back and try more! Definitely will be a spot on my coffee spot rotation when I need to get some work done! read more

This is my favorite place to come and work. It's a great place to do your own thing and enjoy a nice snack and drink. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I've had some of the teas, along with the hot chocolate. All I've had were great and everything comes out fast. The food is my personal favorite. They have a yummy bagel sandwich and a bunch of delightful pastries. A lot of coffee shops phone it in with food, but this place has great stuff. The avocado toast is great too! They have some of the best coffee in the area. The staff is always friendly and the facility is clean and welcoming. Great for meeting up with a few friends, work meeting or going solo. They have a card system and after 10 drinks you get one free. You can pay with Apple Pay and the system will remember you so need to "check in." read more

My heart sank when I read that Origin Coffee and Tea sold the coffeeshop. I'm there at least once a month for meetings and love the conference room option. We met there this past Saturday (scheduled prior through Origin), and I was worried we'd have to find another meeting place in the area for future meetings. To my delight I saw a friendly face, Nori, who was with Origin prior and assured me the conference room would still be available to be reserved, and any existing reservations made through Origin would be honored (yay!). I also met Jessy for the first time, who answered questions for me while making one espresso, latte, flat after another. The staff has always been friendly and now seeing a familiar fade I am certain we will have the same warm, personable experiences we always have. read more

I would rate my first experience of this coffee shop a solid 5! Great and I mean great latte. The place is undeniably beautifully decorated and the staff was amazing. I would say they have a great variety and having been on a world class coffee tour some years back and learning what all goes into the making of quality beans, I'd give this place two snaps, lol. Our first time in, very cute atmosphere, lots of beautiful plants displayed. We were greeted by a very friendly employee, but our order was taken by probably the grumpiest girl we have ever crossed paths with. It was almost ridiculous how rude she was. We were clearly inconveniencing her by just existing. We came in around 1 pm, I later checked what time they close to see if we were being annoying coming in late, but no, the coffee shop is open until 6:00 pm. She barely uttered a word while taking our order and had the biggest scowl on her face, she begrudgingly shifted her eyes up from her screen to ask what size drinks we wanted and upon finishing our order, she said, "ok" and turned on her heel and made our drinks. Just some general human interaction would have been appreciated. We understand everyone has bad days, and can be upset - but being a server myself, I never have let my personal emotions affect my customer service in such a way. The honey lavender latte was nice. Might give this spot another chance, as it was cute and there was one friendly employee- but it is quite a shame how one sour employee can make the experience of a very cute and quaint coffee shop, sub par. read more
