I recently checked out a coffee place right next to my hair shop, and it was great! When I requested extra whip on my drink, the guy looked confused and respectfully disgusted LOL and that's when I knew.... I was in a real coffee place, they don't play that whip cream stuff their more elegant with the foam and designs at the top lol, I'm just getting my coffee life together have a little grace on me. I ordered a white chocolate mocha, which was delicious, and a creamy cheese croissant that I loved. The vibe of the place was calm and clean. Next time, I plan to sit in and enjoy the full experience!

Better than Temple! Love their coffee. Good customer service and lovely place to sit and enjoy.

I was upset that I ordered the 8oz chai because I ended up liking it! It had a very creamy cinnamon taste, and was almost too sweet, but it still ended up being one of the better chai's that I have had. The real highlight was the cesear salad rap. It was $10 and much larger than expected. It had just the right amount of dressing and ample crutons, which where crunchy and seasoned. I'm not usually a cesear fan, but this one was really good and I would get it again. We also got the english muffin breakfast Sandwich, which was ok but I would not get it again. My friend ordered from the seasonal drink menu, and got the Paradise Tea, which was amazing. It was refreshing, but had more flavor than a lemonade and the perfect level of sweetness. It was also only $6 for the 16oz, the same price as my 8oz Chai.Despite being disappointed by the fact they they do not have plates and give you everything to go, the seating area was very nice. I stayed for over an hour getting work done with the free wifi, the music was good and not overly loud, and the seating was comfortable and plentiful. They put effort into the interior, and I would come again despite the 20min drive. The service was very quick and friendly.

Sat outside as the place was slammed!! But I see why!! So much selection and sooo good - they serve Ettores pastries - I got an iced strawberry latte - my husband got a hot bourbon cardamom latte and a cheese danish !! Yum!! Hopping place - super nice service and fast!!

5 Stars - My New Favorite Stop! Pause Coffee in Fair Oaks is an absolute gem! I stopped by recently and was completely blown away by the quality of the food and the amazing customer service. I tried their signature Banana Cream Matcha and it was perfectly balanced--creamy, fresh, and just sweet enough. It's already my new go-to drink. I also grabbed a delicious spread of goodies: their croissants were buttery and flaky, the bagels were fresh, and the chia pudding was fantastic and healthy. Everything I tried was truly delicious and clearly made with care. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and provided top-notch customer service, making the entire experience enjoyable. If you're looking for great coffee, incredible pastries, and a welcoming atmosphere, you absolutely need to stop by Pause Coffee! Highly, highly recommend.

Love this neighborhood coffee shop! Very friendly staff and they have fresh pressed orange juice and pastries from Ettores Cafe! It's very chill vibes in head with positive music and very spacious! They just expanded into the suite next door and it's friendly for study or working sessions with outlets throughout the space! Coffee is bomb too! I want to try the matcha next time I visit!

Plain Latte and apricot scone 3.5 overall rating of both.
    Lisa M.

I'd rate this 3.5 stars. My latte wasn't the best to be honest, along with the apricot scone. The latte wasn't balanced with enough espresso & the foam wasn't creamy. After comparing to Foursquare in Downtown Folsom the day prior, this fell flat. Same goes with the apricot scone, was pretty dry and bland. I was so surprised, given how crowded it was & stellar reviews. Maybe because there is no other coffee shops in the area, other than chains.

Haven't been to Pause in a very long time so I was surprised to see the expanded seating area inside when we arrived! The coffee shop was already pretty spacious so it's nice that there is even more space available. I tried out their banana matcha and it was great! A lot of places are jumping on the banana matcha trend so I was weary about this one but was pleasantly surprised. The cream was really good and the banana flavor was definitely present. Will definitely be adding Pause back into the coffee shop rotation again - not sure why it ever fell off!

Pause Coffee is so good! I'm constantly on the go and use coffee shops for an office. I get the same thing - Breve Flat White. Their's was fantastic. Service was excellent. The ambiance is so good here. And lots of seating spaces indoor and out for singles or groups.

Tiktok was right about the banana matcha here. It's amazing and super sweet-which I prefer. I came during the Sunday morning rush. After about 20 minutes, I had to check in with the barista. They accidentally skipped my order and immediately started working on my drink. They were super nice about it though and gave me a coupon for a free drink. Definitely a super busy coffee shop. It gets a little loud inside, but there's outdoor seating.

Looking to try a new coffee shop on my way to take my dogs to their veterinary appointment, I stumbled upon Pause Coffee House. I had never heard of Pause before and was excited to give it a try. There is ample parking as it is located in a strip mall. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The space is quite large, clean and modern. I decided to try their seasonal "gimme s'more" cold brew - a chocolate cold brew with marshmallow soft top and crushed graham cracker. It was a little sweet, but definitely a nice little treat. Since it was breakfast time, I also decided to try a bagel sandwich, but opted against the spinach and aïoli that came on it. My everything bagel had a perfectly cooked egg, Canadian bacon, and cheese. It was quite filling and given the price, I was quite pleased. All in all, a nice coffee shop and place to meet a friend or sit and do some work.

All the Basics, None of the Wow none of the spark. Solid spot, but nothing special. I got my coffee and drink in a to-go cup, which felt a bit impersonal, and the service was just okay-I almost felt like I had to guide the process myself. Prices are standard for most coffee shops, around $16 for two drinks, but there wasn't anything that really stood out enough to make me want to come back. It's a decent place if you're meeting up with friends or need somewhere to get a bit of work done, though it leans on the louder side. The patio is a nice touch, and the easy parking out front definitely earns points for convenience. Overall seems like a simple put together coffee shop kinda vibe- a little bit of new and a little bit of old interior- bring me back in time.

Solid coffee spot! Seems like a good coffee shop to hang out while you drink your coffee. Came here on a busy Saturday and had to sit in the bar area. There was a lot of parking and can't wait to visit again.

I mentioned Fair Oaks Brew Pub as an option I found on Yelp &, as a local, he said it was a great choice. We almost immediately scored street parking only a few doors down. I'd never been to Old Fair Oaks Village before. Looking around, the little town center was more reminiscent of a historic gold country town up in the foothills than Sacramento suburban sprawl. The cutesy charm of the surroundings extended to Fair Oaks Brew Pub itself. Greeted as soon as we walked up, we chose to sit out in their inviting patio area on a perfect Spring day. Our server was along shortly. She was friendly, helpful, & the right amount of attentive. For brew pub fare, we both chose the Risky Burger. Essentially a Western bacon BBQ variation of their regular cheeseburger. Sides were upgraded to onion rings. For the brew, I got their Chicken Foot Pale Ale. Everything was up before long. The Risky Burger was outstanding. Crispy bacon, tasty onion rings (in the burger, as well as on the side), gooey melted cheese, & a perfectly cooked patty just juicy enough to turn the last bite or 2 of the whole burger into a bit of a mess. The Chicken Foot Pale Ale was decent for style, though a little old school in terms of recipe/ malts/ hops. Still, a refreshing pairing for the Risky Burger. All in all, Fair Oaks Brew Pub was a great spot to grab a bite & a beer in an unexpectedly scenic pocket of suburbia.

Ugh, I hate giving this place three stars…read more I've been here a few times over the years and have always come back thinking I'd give it another chance. I met a couple of friends after work today and realized I hadn't been here in a few years. The restaurant wasn't very busy when I arrived. My friends had already ordered, and it still took about 15 minutes before anyone came over to our table. We wanted to switch to a lower table, and the server seemed confused by the request even though we only moved two tables away. I had to ask for a menu and ask for water. My friends requested more wasabi and soy sauce, but it never arrived, even after their next rolls came out. The server disappeared so quickly they didn't have a chance to remind them, and one of my friends eventually had to get up and track someone down. On the positive side, I ordered the blue cheese and potato pizza, and it was actually pretty good. What struck me most was that the servers all looked like they hated being there. It's unfortunate because this place has a beautiful building, a great menu, and an excellent beer selection. Unfortunately, I've never felt the service matched the rest of the experience. Will I be back? Maybe. But I won't be rushing back. Eating out is expensive these days, and I'd rather support places where I don't feel like I'm inconveniencing the staff simply by being there.

The service was fantastic from start to finish. We had the chance to chat with Julian himself along with a couple other staff members, and everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The stars of the meal were definitely the breakfast wrap and the bacon, egg & cheese croissant. The breakfast wrap had the perfect balance of scrambled eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, avocado, and cheddar cheese. Everything worked together without any one ingredient overpowering the others, and the salsa on the side was a great addition. Honestly, it's one of the best breakfast burritos/wraps I've had. And the croissant... wow. It was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the croissant was light, flaky, and buttery, and every bite was packed with flavor. The Nutella crepe was also very good. The crepe itself was perfectly made, though there was a little more Nutella than I personally prefer. Next time I'll probably ask for less, but that's purely a matter of taste. The avocado toast was the only item that didn't quite hit the mark for me. It was good, but the honey flavor dominated the dish and drowned out some of the other ingredients. I'd love to taste a little more balance there. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality made for a great breakfast. We'll definitely be back, and I'll be dreaming about that croissant until then.
