THERE IS NO PLACE TO SIT This place is actually amazing - the food is delicious, the matcha latte is unbelievable, and the service is great. By all measures a 5 star coffee house, BUT it is impossible to eat your food or sit and enjoy your coffee because it is filled to the brim with people on their computers (90% without any food or drink in front of them). It is very unfortunate. While we were there we saw several people who opened the door, peeped and saw there was no room, and walked back out the door. This place is super hip and cute. I love the decor and especially love the cartoon mural on the wall. I'm going to keep this short. I have been to two of their locations. My favorite cafe in Boston. Why you ask? Relax, I'm getting there. Fenway: I nearly die every time I eat their Almond Croissant. It is SO perfect and delicious. I am overcome with devastation when I walk in and realize they are out for the day. Luckily they also make an Almond Kringle which does the job. Staff has always been pleasant for me and they make a mean London Fog. Salmon bagel sandwich is essential when I need a little more from my treat. I love when coffee places have vegetarian/vegan options! I ordered the vegan sunrise on a sesame bagel and a vanilla latte with almond milk (almond milk was only an extra 0.25 cents)! I loved my latte, though it was a little on the sweet side. I liked the fillings of the bagel, the vegan tofu cream cheese was amazing, but the bagel was a little stale. It made it hard to chew, but on the day I came here I was studying for a test and didn't want to waste time asking for a new one to be made. But overall, I was happy with my food and the coffee. The space is super cute and clean. Lots of tables, chairs, and outlets! Great study spot and since it was 7AM when I came in, the place wasn't noisy. This place is really cute. The hot coffee was a nice light roast, but the cold brew was just ok. I got a cinnamon raisin bagel which was delicious and fresh. Great bagels. My boyfriend loves their classic option Sunrise Breakfast sandwich with cheese, egg and meat. But my favorite is their often overlooked overnight oats. SO YUMMY! They add a generous nut / seed mixture and I recommend getting the seasonal fruit on the side. It's not what you expect - just whatever they have cut and thrown on top - but rather a beautiful marinated accompaniment. Mine was chopped apples marinated overnight in the juice of mini blueberries. Lots of vegan options too if that's your jam. Basic drip coffee has great flavor. Not too bitter or burnt. Music is a little loud - it's a fun, funky atmosphere rather than super chill and cozy. But the best thing about Pavement is that they open a full hour earlier than neighboring Tatte. Loved pavement! The location was very convenient and it was a great little breakfast spot. They were very accommodating to my vegan needs, as they had many (delicious!) options for people with dietary restrictions. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing (5/5 stars on the food)! I have had the Sunrise on multiple occasions and it never disappoints. However, as I coffee lover, I do not enjoy their coffee so much so that I frequently will get a sandwich from here but my coffee from elsewhere. I've tried their brewed coffee, ice coffee, and cappuccino and it's all been excessively bitter. I normally drink my coffee black but I've had to use milk and sugar in my coffees from here to make them more tolerable. read more

The coffee and food was sooooo good!! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 Star is because there were three or four tables that were not cleared off so people were not sure about sitting down. Pavement Coffeehouse is located among the BU building. They offer variety of coffee and bread or bagels. Focusing on coffee, the taste is slightly different from other coffee (not sure whether because of almond milk). The size is about the same as Starbucks grande size. Regarding the price, it is slightly higher than other coffeehouse, but worth it. read more

The coffee is ok and the service is fine, but their pricing model for Wi-Fi is awful. Do not go here if you are looking to spend an afternoon working on the internet. Pavement charges an extra $5 on top of food costs, which are expensive, for internet access of more than an hour. You can also pay $10 for the week or $15 for the month. When I go to a coffee shop I expect to be able to get free internet with my food/drink purchases or I wouldn't pay so much for those items. read more

I'll start off by saying Pavement has some of the best bagel sandwiches in the city. That being said, I am rarely able to consume my purchase at the cafe. Every time I walk in on a Saturday or Sunday I find a swarm of laptops and college students- posted up in every seat, with empty coffee cups and no sign of leaving. Don't students have libraries? It is rare that I can even get a seat or table for two, and end up having them wrap my food and pour my drink in a to-go cup. My suggestion to the owners would be to regulate a more strict table time limit during high traffic hours to allow for other local patrons to sit and eat. Or section off a small set of tables that allow laptops with the others restricting laptops to allow for some turnover. read more

I've stopped by several times to try a few different coffee drinks and it just isn't working for me. The coffee is just too bitter for me and just didn't sit in my stomach right. It is a popular place with a great interior and it is always crowded when I show up. This seems to cause confusion every time I am there. I know this can't be the case every day or people wouldn't love this place, but it never fails that my coffee takes double the time to make than other places.
