Worst experience in a long time. I never received my meal until my husband and sister were finished eating. Once I did receive it it was wrong. Then we realized later that my sister's meal was also wrong. She had ordered Stromboli Calzone (I did not know what she ordered until we discussed it later and this was something new to her) and received chicken parmesan. I ordered a ham and pineapple calzone and received my sister's Stromboli calzone. What a mess. I heard some folks behind us complaining of their meal being wrong. Service was friendly and just a little slow because of being busy. We actually ate here twice this week, Saturday night we had calzones, which do take a while to make esp. at high-takeout hour so we shared a salad and cheese sticks while we waited and watched Women's Rugby. I feel like I should give it a lot of stars because it was the few places open in the "off" season. I did not try the pizza but the calzone and it was packed with toppings. We sat at the oven and could see them make the pizzas and they looked so good! They are very generous on the toppings. Big high five on that. The guys were very helpful on giving tips on what to do around Colorado. I'm giving it a 4 because a girl who I guess worked there but was not working came back around the counter and started getting into the oven then dropped food on the floor. Came here last night with family. My turn to order. I asked the server how the lentil soup was. She was very unenthusiastic about it. Okay, not getting that. Now undecided, and in a hurry to pick something, I asked for Spaghetti Primavera. The server (seemingly irritated) asked what type of sauce I wanted. I was confused as I had quickly glanced at the menu description and thought it said spaghetti and vegetables tossed in aglio e olio. I stated "aglio e olio". I was served spaghetti tossed in aglio e olio. First of all, it was bland. I'm low or no sodium on most everything, but this was too bland, strictly garlic and oil. Second, I thought either something was missing or I didn't understand what I'd ordered (I was in a hurry), but didn't say anything until half eaten. I had to find a menu to make sure. When I brought it to the server's attention, she said 'no, vegetables don't come with it,' she'd never seen vegetables come with it. I had to show her the menu description. She came back to tell us the kitchen was remaking the order. I asked only for the vegetables, but when it came, the vegetables came piled on top of spaghetti. Fine. We took it home. I was mostly dismayed at her attitude during ordering, and again after showing her the menu and having to ask for vegetables. When the check came, it looked like Spaghetti, not Spaghetti Primavera was entered in the computer. Made me think she wasn't familiar with the menu. Lesson learned, I won't be coming back. Fast forward to the next night (tonight). Super Bowl night! Looking for takeout to bring home and trying to avoid this place, we unfortunately had few options and ended up back here. Facing a long wait for pizza, we decided to take a table, have drinks, watch the game. Was told to take the table in the corner under the tv. We order pizza, drinks and wings, but they're out of wings! On Super bowl night! Ok, guess we're not getting wings. The game starts aaaand.... there's no sound. There was music playing through the house speakers but the place was filling up with patrons there to Watch The Game. We've been coming to the Vail/beaver Creek area every summer for years. We always go to the Pazzo's in Vail Village. It feels local, not touristy. We love that we can grab a pizza and pick up a game of soccer right outside. We stayed in Beaver Creek this year and were excited to see they had a location there. We actually planned our day around ending there. Our activities ran long and we headed there a little late. We thought they were Closing in 15 minutes, so out of respect we called and ordered our pizza to go. When we got there, we realized they were still open for another hour so we decided to stay and eat there. This is where it went terribly south. The waitress that was servicing the patio was the worst we have ever experienced. She half-heartedly greeted us after we sat for a long time. We explained that we had actually already ordered our pizza but now that we realized they were open we would like to stay and eat. She said "oh thank god you already ordered" and walk away. When she passed back by we asked if we could order drinks and she said "she would check" and walked away and that is the last we ever saw of said waitress. After we sat outside for an unreasonable amount of time, we went in to see if we could get drinks and service at the bar. We genuinely were made to feel like we needed to apologize for coming to their restaurant and feel gracious that we could get a pizza. We were handed our beverages and a stack of plates. We served ourselves on the patio and ate our mediocre pizza. Said waitress returned to the scene to collect her money off the table next to us (clearing no dishes) and never even acknowledged us. I would give them no stars if i could. We waited an hour and a half for a greasy pizza. The place wasn't that busy...seemed to accommodate take out orders before customers in the place. Our waiter was surly, spilled beer on me...said 'now you get something free! a free napkin...haha!." After seeing him standing around talking to other waiters, i asked when our meal would be ready since it had already been an hour. He said 'when the pizza guy says it is'...I told him that this was the worst service we have ever had. His response was "well, thanks for sharing that'. Then he left a snarky note about 'i hope you notice we comped your pizza'... Also, a diner got violently ill (wonder why?) and the paramedics even had to be called. Absolutely terrible! Don't waste your money and time! Staff was extremely rude! They told us that they didn't have enough chairs to seat us( 6people) and the restaurant was not busy. We saw lots of empty tables and chairs. Our 3 kids were very disappointed. This is not the first time that this has happened at Pazzos Avon. The host made a rude comment telling us not to come back. This place had ok food but HORRIBLE service! When we got here it took almost 5 minutes for the hostess to even acknowledge us, when we finally got seated our waiter was almost non existent it took him over 20 mins to come and take our order. We then waited about an hour for our pizzas to come out and one was correct the second was the wrong pizza, and the third pizza didn't come out and then when it finally did it was the wrong pizza and it then took an additional 20 minutes for them to bring out the correct pizza and then charged us full price for this awful experience. Decided to go here after several locals raved about the place. Our friends arrived at 5:45 on Sat night with their 2 kids based on warnings about wait times. We arrived at 6 pm with 4 addl adults and 3 kids (11 total). We were seated in the back of the restaurant in the game room, perfect for entertaining while you wait for your meal. We ordered promptly and our apps arrived 15 mins later. Unfortunately our pizzas and pasta meals didn't arrive for another 1.5 hours. This is not ideal for 5 young kids. The waiter didn't even apologize for the wait time, just explained that they were busy. The pizza was definitely not as good as Blue Moose Pizza located in BC Village. Pros: casual atmosphere, walking distance to Comfort Inn, Sheraton, Westin, not overpriced, Vin 48, wine/tapas bar, is located next door. read more
