The practice has very good dentists, and that's not why I'm giving this office three stars. I'm giving this practice three stars because of billing. I came in for regular teeth cleaning, and I was quoted it would cost $6000 for a tooth implant and wisdom extraction ($4000 out-of-pocket). This is about double what it would cost at other dentists, so I would urge people that are coming here for dental surgery to get a second consultation at another practice before they commit to the billing fees from Premier Dental. A lot of the fees they add to the treatment case are not reimburseable by insurance, and in my personal experience wasn't needed for my tooth implant. read more

I used to go there for about 2-3years until hygienist filed all my front and bottom teeth during cleaning. This happened about 4 years ago and I still think about it because it was so traumatic. I looked in the mirror right after cleaning and noticed my bottom teeth were slightly shorter and different. I started shaking and told my dentist. She was really nice and concerned for me. Dr mentioned that the hygienist was a new temp. Her name was Mina. She said she didn't do it. It's MY teeth that I look at everyday and it did not look like that before cleaning. I even brushed my teeth before appt and looked at it before heading to the dentist office. My dentist called to check on me next day which was nice and receptionist made an appt for me to see the head dentist to discuss what happened. When I went to see him, he asked me if I have proof or pictures. Who takes pictures before going to dentist thinking something could go wrong?? He said it's not possible to file teeth with cleaning machine. However, my dentist did demonstrate how the cleaning machine works and tested it on my nails the day I had it cleaned after the incident. It sure does file nails if you press the tip down on it. I don't know what Mina did or used but she did it. I'm 100% sure. I was literally shaking seeing my teeth after cleaning. The head dentist or the owner (can't remember) did not show any sympathy or compassion and kept asking me if I had proof/pics. I saw him for less than 10min just to explain what happened and express my concerns, and Guess what? They filed a claim with my insurance for seeing him and I had to pay $100. Who does that? I'm the victim and you want to charge me for feedback? I should be compensated if anything. Unbelievable. You can't replace your natural teeth. My perfect teeth are forever damaged. I'm still traumatized from the cleaning and customer service experience that I'm scared to go to any dentist. read more

I really wanted to go to Premier Dental after reading all of the great reviews! And they were covered by my insurance plan! Woo! However, Lonnie at the front desk and the manager both insisted they did not accept my insurance. I contacted my insurance, and they said the office was contracted with them to provide care. The insurance company called on my behalf and Premier Dental insisted they weren't contracted with them, and said if they were, it was a mistake. (Apparently, though, Premier Dental has been paying fees to Empire XPO since January, but they still won't accept it as insurance.) Technically, if I went in now, they would be obligated to accept my insurance because they are under contract, and they will be reimbursed. However, they cancelled two ZocDoc appointments on me, so it looks like I'll just have to find another dentist. I don't doubt the dentistry is great! But people on the admin side should get it together. read more

I've been a patient of this practice for almost 10 years, but since the young David Ritholtz took over, things have really slipped. First off, he (and others who are made to) repeatedly push Invisalign; it's inappropriate. I recently needed some more substantial dental work, and was given a quote for the root canal from the specialist, but it was never explained or quoted that I would also need a crown from Dr. R. This was totally young Ritholtz' fault and he never attempted to rectify this. It seems that really doesn't know how to run this business like his father. I will be looking for a new dentist, but will sorely miss Sherri, who's a kind and talented hygienist. She deserves 5 stars. read more

I've been a biyearly patient for the past 7 or so years and I am so happy with my latest visit today. But first I want to express how PDA really is unlike every other doctor's office I've been to (in the best ways possible) and these are the reasons why: 1) Extremely efficient. PDA is like a well-oiled machine.. whenever I visit, there are always a few patients in the waiting room, yet appointments are always timely (never wait more than 5 minutes after your appointment time). 2) Excellent bedside manners, particularly noticeable at the front desk (friendly receptionists.. it really is groundbreaking!) - when booking appointments, checking in, and checking out. Such a breath of fresh air. 3) The most noteworthy difference is that while at most places there is a huge dissonance between the billing department and the doctors, the doctors here are knowledgeable of or actually try to HELP you figure out your costs depending on your insurance. How many times have we heard doctors unhelpfully drone out, "It depends on your insurance, check yourself." Most docs couldn't care less whether they are getting $ from the patient or insurance. They just want to bill whoever for as much as possible. Thus explains my being absolutely floored today when Dr. Ritholtz pulled up my insurance information right then and there on the computer and confirmed how much my out-of-pocket would be for Invisalign. And then later upon check-out, Christine was on the phone with my insurance, ensuring that the cost would be reimbursed so that I received the molds in a timely manner. Well-oiled machine, I say! 4) Marie! She's has been my hygienist for the past few visits and by far has been my favorite. She's so friendly and most importantly, her cleanings are efficient yet effective. I usually hate the dentist because the vibrating water pic of death just scares the bejesus out of me and creates a bloodbath in my mouth, but Marie is SO gentle! Being British may give you the advantage of having a sexy accent but you may still be unfortunate and have horribly shaped teeth. Well, my teeth weren't awful but they were British. A friend of mine suggested I check out Dr Gallers practice and go for a consult. So I did. I made an appointment for a free consult and they were generous with giving me an available slot only a week after I called. This consult was for invisalign braces and it truly went so well, I signed up then and there and we got to work. Dr. Galler is an extremely patient, kind, caring and very funny dentist. He walked through the 6 months of my braces and giving my teeth the best and utmost attention. When we were done with the braces, the transformation was so visible and magnificent I got so many compliments from people around me. One of the things I loved about this practice is that because I have such a complicated schedule there were times I wasn't able to make it to an appointment but with enough heads up they were able to squeeze me in when necessary. So I am ashamed to say that I haven't been to the dentist since 2006. Yeah long story. But I decided it was time to change that and took advantage of my jobs exceptional insurance and I am so glad that I choose Premier to reintroduce myself to dentistry. I happened to like the front desk staff and if you think this staff is unprofessional I'd hate to see you visit some of the places I've been to. I forgot who took my x-rays but she was extremely sweet.Sherri, was my hygienist and she gave me my entire life. She was so knowledgable and explained every thing so that it made absolute sense. I am now fanatic about flossing as a result, but she was gentle, stern, and honest. She made the cleaning as easy as possible and explained things to me along the way. Dr. Danzi! I was referred to Premier Dental by a co-worker nearly 5 years ago, and I could not be happier! Everyone at the office is incredibly professional, helpful and kind - also, I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes to be seen (that's huge for a dental office!). The hygienists and dentists are efficient and knowledgeable - they make sure that you understand everything they're doing, along with any potential issues - and still, with no major problems, you're in and out of the door within 20-30 minutes. Though, luckily, I usually only have to swing by twice per year (cleaning time!), I'm always greeted with smiling, familiar faces. I typically see Dr. Danzi, along with an occasional visit with Dr. Galler (Invisalign), but I've also been seen by a few pinch hitters, and they've all been wonderful. I have been going to this office for a few years now for cleanings and they are very friendly and thorough. The receptionist is always friendly and I have NEVER had any issues with booking a cleaning or with insurance. About 15 months ago I started Invisalign with Dr Galler. It was a decision I had contemplated for years, but always put off because of the cost. Then I found out I could finance it with 0% APR for 2 years. I made an investment in me and it was the best decision I ever made. Dr Galler works really swiftly, so you're never in his chair very long - but you kind of want to hang out a little longer and chat with him. He's VERY comfortable to be around and that means a lot to me. Being at the dentist can make me anxious, but I always felt at ease with Dr Galler and I am thrilled with the results. I am no longer embarrassed by my smile! When my first round of trays were over he asked me if I wanted a few more months because the bottoms were "90% there" and he wanted them closer to 100% because he's a "perfectionist". Well, I guess you don't fall in the top 1% Invisalign Dr in the North East without being one. He didn't even charge me for the extra trays, which I thought was over and beyond. I absolutely love this place. The staff (especially Gus, my hygienist) is so kind and gentle and I always feel well taken care of. I have different dentists every time I go, but that doesn't bother me much. I appreciate the fact that I consistently see the same hygienist. Since going to him, my gum health has improved significantly. The staff takes the time to listen to my concerns (I have a 7 year crown, which I'm constantly terrified will fall out, even though they tell me its healthy) and have helped me take preventitve measures now, so that I continue to have healthy teeth. Dedicating my first Yelp review ever to the amazingly talented Dr. Galler. Never in a million years did I think I would be leaving a 5 star review for a dental office, but the team at Premier Dental Associates is the absolute best. I recommend them to anyone who will listen. I have never had a bad experience over the past 3 years of being a patient for both cleanings and Invisalign. I recently finished my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Galler and could not be happier with my results! I was a particularly difficult case thanks to a genetic "deformity" in my top and bottom jaw, (seriously just mention my name at your next Invisalign appointment or consultation and he will tell you himself, I am a medical miracle) but Dr. Galler stuck it out with me and provided excellent care. He wasn't the first person to tell me I needed my jaw broken and reset, but he was the first person who I truly believed had my best interest at heart and would be skilled enough to see me through the process and recovery. My "deformity" (which sounds much more dramatic than it was) required orthognathic surgery (the breaking of the top and bottom jaw to be better positioned) and Dr. Galler worked seamlessly with my surgeon at Weill Cornell, Dr Behrman on my plan. If anyone needs this sort of surgery I highly recommend him as well. The entire process took 2.5 years thanks to stopping Invisalign for a few months and starting again post surgery, but the results were absolutely worth the wait. I get compliments all the time and people refuse to believe that my before pictures are even my teeth after seeing what I look like today. I am so grateful for Dr. Galler's expertise and kindness throughout this entire process and journey. I genuinely miss seeing him and Natasha every month. I went to 3 different orthodontists prior to check them out, and they were all intimidating or disingenuous (avoid Dr Toothy in Chinatown - he is scary). I went to Premier Dental Associates and their staff is helpful, their location is tidy, and my orthodontist Dr Galler is the best. He never judges you, only helps you. He answers any questions you have and he even caught some mistakes my other dentist made. He seems to really care about his patients, and is always pleasant even though I'm sure he's really busy. His price is about $1,000 more than Invisalign somewhere else but it is well worth it! My philosophy is that when you're spending ~$5,000 for tooth work that takes about a year's commitment, be sure to commit to someone you trust. I highly recommend this dentist's office. read more
