Just received a delivery order from PDX Sliders via Postmates: a Portland burger and an order of PDX fries. Fries are virtually raw, lacking any truffle flavoring and completely inedible. Called the restaurant and the options are to try to get a refund from Postmates or go to the restaurant in person (completely defeating the purpose of ordering delivery). I have been coming here since it was just a food truck. The Hawthorne is my favorite burger in Portland. Nevertheless, I have tried several of their other sliders, and I have never had a bad one. Most recently, I ate the Ross Island, which is a vegetarian black bean burger. Clearly, I am not a vegetarian, and I enjoyed this. It's not as good as the Hawthorne, but better than some of the other meat options. Now let me get started on the fries. These may also be my favorite fries in Portland. The portion size of these truffle fries is large. It's a lot even when I share just one order with my husband. I've dined in and I have gotten takeout, and I'm happy every time. Wow! I don't know what to say but WOW! The burgers were cook to perfection. I made it to a point that when im in Portland Oregon it was a must stop here. So worth it! I believe there is 2 location. The one that we went to, it's restaurant location is literally a house that turned to restaurant style. First floor was the dining area, kitchen, and where you place your order. Upstairs was the bathroom and more dining area. I ordered a sellwood slider burger and a Tilikum (sp?) Fried chicken sandwich....that was so good. All i can say the "sellwood" burger really melts in your mouth. I also ordered French fries..a must for me when i eat a burger. My husband got the Portland burger, he said that was good but when he took a bite of my sellwood burger he said he wish he ordered that x2...lol...he also ordered this pork burger and that was also good and flavorful. My husband's daughter ordered a sellwood burger and this spicy burger with roasted peppers. She said it was spicy hot yet it was good. We didn't order any drinks but there is free cold ice water that is available. So basically, EVERYTHING WAS SO "GOOD". I don't think you can go wrong. Tip: order 2 sliders instead of a full size burger. That way you get to taste 2 different burgers. Besides, 2 orders of slider pretty much adds to a full size burger...unless your a big eater...i recommend and order of a full size Sellwood burger and a slider on the side. I enjoyed the burgers...staff is awesome, place is clean. A little small but they have more room upstairs and outside. I'll definitely be back. One of my favorite cheap spots for food has to be PDX Sliders. It's not just another typical Burger Joint. It is one of the best burgers that I had in my life. National Geographic has rated it the Fourth Best Burger Joint in America and I could see why. Their Sellwood Burger is the most popular but I really enjoyed their Steel and Division Philly. The wait is about 30 minutes long and it tends to be a long wait on weekends. The service was very friendly and you will definitely feel like you are in Portland with the hipster atmosphere. The loaded fries are crazy good as well but you would definitely need to share if you're getting a burger. read more

The spinning around of the touch screen tip machine. Your total come up with all the suggested amounts to give for pre service. Who tips for service they have not received yet? Pro athletes are paid for their past performances. We eat first then we write about our experience. Rarely are we asked to write first then be served based on what we write. Not at this type of place. There is a distinct difference in the service you receive based on how you tip. It's hard to imagine someone a wait staff making the decision between bringing you ketchup and silverware getting you water and just bringing your food and telling you where the water is. I think the food is good. The portions are nice size and they are not afraid to push the flavors a little outside of the comfort zone. They make good burgers. The chicken is crispy and moist. The fries are in the new standard truffle oil and not over cooked. It's not a stretch to think they could have best rolls to stand up to their sandwiches. Seasoned fine, the fries are great, crunchy and with the right amount of salt and parsley flakes. Decent selection of beer. Problem is it took 45 minutes from the time we ordered our food to the time we received our food. Meanwhile dozens of pick up orders were going out the door. Really PDX Sliders? You don't prioritize your customers who come in the door? You ask for a tip ahead of time and suggest 20%. On top of that, I'm asked to bus my own table. Dining has come to this in so many places. Dinner for 4 carried out from here the other night. Ordering was easy over the phone, and our food was ready when we walked in the door. Had to wait a few minutes for our growler to be filled, but the guy working the taps was making sure we had a container full of beer instead of foam. I had the Sellwood. It nearly brought tears to my eyes. The bun was pillow soft and buttery, the butter lettuce even butterier, and the bacon was fragrant and perfectly thick and crisp. The patty was a little overcooked for my taste, but that was probably due to sitting in the bag on the walk home. I did regret when I walked in the door that I didn't ask about the specials. They had a BBQ pork shoulder burnt ends burger that sounded right up my alley. I'll know better next time! Oh, and the fries are wonderful. I like the thin-cut, herbs and heavy salt. So, to be upfront, this is an averaging of my feelings about the sliders I had vs the loaded Nashville fries I had. Ordered via Door Dash and I'd order again (the Hawthorne is amazing) but would def avoid certain dishes. The burgers: 5/5. I got a Sellwood (which is a little more classic) and the Hawthorne (which has goat cheese and strawberry preserves). They were amazing, especially the Hawthorne. I immediately regretted not just ordering a full size of it. Freaking delicious. They arrived hot and wonderful. Loaded Nashville hot chicken fries: 1/5. After how delicious I'd heard everything from here was, I was really excited to try these. I enjoy Nashville hot chicken and fries, seemed like a perfect fit. However, what I received was pretty disappointing. First off, the chicken I received appeared to just be buffalo chicken. Nashville hot is pretty distinctively different, being sweeter and a different spice blend. I'm not a fan of Buffalo chicken and so I immediately was disappointed. But hey, I figured maybe there's just miscommunication. Maybe there's a diff Nashville hot style or something. So, if nothing else, I decided to just pick out the fries themselves. And that's when I found them to be stone cold. Mind you, the burgers and the fry toppings were hot. But the fries were completely cold. I could shrug off a difference of thought around Nashville style but hot toppings on totally cold fries? Ugh. Not a pleasant dish all around. Would I order from here again? Absolutely! First time coming here today to bid our friend farewell as she goes back home to California. I got the Division and the Sellwood and was very happy with my choices. I am a little skeptical of sliders but I was very impressed as the burgers tasted great. The ingredients were fresh and the bread was soft. Lots of butter I think is the secret here. This place is amazing. I got great service, my order was incorrect and resolved really easily. We had the Hawthorne slider and the meat was impeccable and the strawberry jam gave the meat the right umami flavor with contrast. The Burlington fries were cooked well however it did not match up to our tastes. This was not what we originally ordered. These burgers are top notch. The plain fries are the perfect amount of crisp with just the right amount of seasoning. You don't feel like you're lost in a salt desert, but it's just enough flavor to hit you right in the feels. The philly steak fries and other meat fries were definitely on the heavy side, although we did order three varieties of fries plus burgers for 5 people which was 100% excessive. The burgers were juicy and full of flavor. Finally had a chance to visit the fairly brew physical location in Sellwood. As usual, the burgers here are delicious and flavorful along with the fries. I don't think I've ever had a bad burger from here. I ordered the Fremont (beef) slider and Morrison (chicken) slider and Loaded Broadway fries. The Freemont slider was cooked perfectly and the beef had a good amount of juice and flavor. The chicken on the Morrison was cooked well and didn't taste dry at all.
