No restrooms so if you're taking it to your hotel or home you have options. This time I was not near my hotel but it was fine. Just disclosing no restrooms should you sit outside. I've had baked chicken, fried chicken, meatloaf (too much catchup) but other than this good. Sides, had them all accept mac n cheese cz I don't do dairy. Yams, dressing, all is fire! I only really go for the Peach Cobbler and that is bananas. Wind up ordering food cz the main event is the PC. As a Southern girl, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. The dressing tasted spoiled, the gravy was extremely salty, and they were out of quite a few sides when I visited. When I addressed my concerns, I unfortunately felt like I was met with more attitude than an attempt to resolve the issue. But everyone has bad days, right? Happened upon Ms. Rubys Peach Cobbler by accident as my mom and I were trying to find a boutique that we discovered was no longer there. So we stopped in to the cafe to get something to eat. The establishment was clean and they had a nice variety of food to choose from. The staff wasn't...unfriendly...I'll say they were focused. This day my mom ordered smothered turkey wings with rice and gravy and about 4 or 5 sides . I ordered the fried chicken with black eyed peas, green beans, and yams. The food was DELICIOUS!! The reason if ace them three stars was because I went back the next day to grab a few plates for me and my family that I was going to bring back home from Atlanta. Before I left my mom's house unused Uber Eats to place my order and I would pick it up and then hit the highway home. I ordered my food around 1:35pm and got the notification it would be ready by 1:53. Cool! I'd have time to get there without rushing as the ride would take about 25 minutes. Well I get there around 2:05 and had to wait a few minutes before I was served as there were people in line before me. Well long story short...I didn't leave the restaurant until around 2:45 as they hadn't even started on my order when I arrived! Ten people came in after me and left before I did...!! Which of course put me way behind schedule on getting back home. And on top of all that...three things were replaces on my order...I was sitting there the WHOLE time!! They could have asked me about replacements. And I say that because I have a gluten allergy and they gave me macaroni & cheese!! No cornbread that should have been free. I thought they would have at least offered me a dessert for making me wait so long but...they didn't. Ordered food here for delivery and paid for pints of sides to feed multiple people. what I got instead was small Popeyes sized portions that could only feed 1 person each. When I called the woman that I spoke to kept saying "She's not dealing with this" and hung up. When trying to call again she continued to pick up the phone and hang up immediately. Visited this place for the first time a few days ago. I went to the UPS store in the plaza and saw people eating outside of the restaurant, so I decided to check it out. It looked nice. When I walked in, I was greeted right away. I was the only one inside. The person who took my order was really kind and friendly, and she explained how the menu works and the pricing. I ordered the rib bites, macaroni, yams, and a peach cobbler. I spent about $33, not including tip. I was so disappointed The rib bites were extremely tough, and the macaroni and yams were okay, but definitely not soul food. The juice was good though, I got some type of mango juice. I see why the reviews for this place are so low. For one, the demographic of people I saw patronizing this place was not making sense to me, with the marketing in my head. Now having tasted the food, the very vanilla customers make total sense now. This is not giving soul food. Yes, they have greens and macaroni and smothered turkey legs, but it's all bland and tasteless. I don't think I've ever been anywhere and had fries made fresh that literally taste like nothing. I've never had fries that taste like nothing. I've had salty fries. I've had soggy fries. I've had burnt fries, but I've never had fries that literally had zero taste. They have meal options and that's all you can do. I tried to order fried chicken wings separate from the smothered turkey leg lunch meal with fries. Just for the wings, no sides, $15?! Same price as a meal basically so you're better off getting a meal even if you don't want any of their sides just so you can have the protein. It's $13.98 which is really $14. After tax came up to 15+. When I actually got the turkey leg back to my desk to eat, there was literally no turkey on the leg. It was all bone and skin. I'm extremely upset. I guess all of the meat fell off into the dish, but you can't tell with all the sauce that there's no turkey on the turkey leg. I'm upset about this. Essentially, I ate no lunch because the fries were not good and there was no turkey on the turkey leg and the turkey itself extremely bland. This gives more of a Cracker Barrel, if you know what I mean, than This is It, which I also don't like, but essentially this is what they're going for. This is It 2.0. The two men working in the front seem to turn up the customer service when their manager was around, and it was really annoying. It's ok, you don't have to be overly nice now. The manager offered me a chance to taste the peach cobbler. I told her it no thanks. She insisted. I tried it. It was awful. I could be biased because I do not like or eat peach cobbler but I'm pretty sure if it was good, it would have just been good. Something about the texture was off. I love the fried chicken at this restaurant but the people who work here are not dedicated to bringing good customer service . Today was my third time coming here mainly for the fried chicken . When I ordered my food they didn't have all the pieces of chicken that I wanted nor did they have any green vegetables to balance a meal . I ordered a three piece; wing, drumstick, and a breast . There was no breast so the cashier Larita C wanted me to take the thigh . I didn't want it so she said I would have to wait 15 minutes . I said ok . Fifteen minutes turned into thirty minutes because the cook waited ten minutes to start cooking the chicken . When thirty minutes came I asked for a discount. Cashier Larita C got angry and walked away to ask a coworker for my discount . We had to ask her 5 minutes later if our food was ready. We did receive a discount but she (Larita C) seemed agitated when I asked her again if I received the chicken pieces that I asked for . She answered me with an attitude . I looked into the bag at the chicken, but noticed nothing that looked out of the ordinary . When I got home she had given me two drumsticks instead of a wing, drumstick, and a breast . As I look back I believe the coworker who gave me the discount was the one who switched out my chicken . This is not a complaint from someone who visited your restaurant once and had a bad experience. This comes from a loyal, long-term customer who has consistently supported your business since the day you opened. I have patronized your establishment at least once every week, and often twice a week, spending an average of approximately $45 per visit. More importantly, I am not an anonymous customer. Your staff knows exactly who I am. The gentleman who is frequently there knows me well, and so does another long-time employee. They have greeted me by face countless times over the years. That history makes what happened today even more disappointing. As usual, I walked in, exchanged cordial greetings, and ordered my standard 4-piece whiting dinner. I watched as the employee took four pieces of whiting from the refrigerator and placed all four into the fryer. He then continued preparing the rest of my meal. When the fish finished cooking, I stood at the counter watching the order being assembled. The employee attempted to place all four pieces of fish into the takeout container, but they would not fit. Instead of simply placing the fourth piece into a second container--a common-sense solution for an order that I had already purchased--another employee removed that fourth piece and placed it back into the fryer. The employee taking my order watched this happen without saying a word. My bag was sealed, handed to me, and I left under the impression that I had received exactly what I paid for. As I drove away, something about the interaction did not sit right with me. Before getting very far, I pulled over and checked my order. Sure enough, there were only three pieces of fish in the container. I immediately drove back to the restaurant to have the mistake corrected. Rather than apologizing or acknowledging what had occurred, I was met with a response that was as shocking as it was insulting. The employee looked me directly in the eye and stated that I had not been charged for four pieces and that if I wanted another piece of fish, I would have to pay for it. That response was completely unacceptable. I reminded him that I personally watched him remove four pieces of fish from the refrigerator and cook all four. I watched another employee attempt to place all four pieces into the container before removing one because it would not fit. None of this was speculation--it happened directly in front of me. Yet despite all of that, I was still told that I would have to purchase another piece of fish. At that moment, I realized that my years of loyalty meant absolutely nothing. Let's put this decision into perspective. There are 52 weeks in a year. If I spend approximately $45 per visit and visit at least once every week, that equals: 52 × $45 = $2,340 per year. Now consider the numerous weeks that I stop in a second time. Conservatively estimating just 10 additional visits annually: 10 × $45 = $450. That brings my annual support of your business to approximately: $2,790 every single year. Think about that for a moment. Someone made the astonishing decision to jeopardize nearly $2,800 in annual business over a piece of fish worth roughly $3.50. That isn't just poor customer service. That is incredibly shortsighted business judgment. Businesses don't lose loyal customers because of honest mistakes. Mistakes happen everywhere. Businesses lose loyal customers because of how they respond after the mistake is discovered. Had someone simply apologized and handed me the piece of fish I had already paid for, I would probably have thanked them and continued supporting your establishment exactly as I have for years. I enjoyed my meal at Peach Cobbler Cafe. I got the 1/4 rosemary chicken and got the mac and cheese and collard greens for my sides. You order at the counter and get your food which was nice and both workers were friendly. It was around $17 which is a little expensive, but not too crazy given the portion. My main critique was really just the chicken being a lot of bone and the food being lukewarm. It all tasted good, but just wish there was more chicken given what was paid. The baked chicken comes with rice which is not specified so I got double rice but it comes with NO GRAVY and no option to add gravy (assumed it would come as it's pictured) rice was dry with no seasoning. The baked chicken was super dry which was super awful because there was no gravy to assist Pros: Mac and cheese and collards were good along with the punch. Had really really high hopes for the cobbler (after all it was in the name) but never got a chance to try it. Called the restaurant simply for a resolve on the smothered pork chop and the missing cobbler and was told to contact door dash. Currently waiting on door dash to approve a refund because they would not give me a re order option. Try at your own risk. I placed the catering order four days in advance and even confirmed it by phone the day before; I was assured everything would be ready. Despite this, when I arrived for the scheduled 11:00 a.m. pickup, six items were not prepared. I ultimately waited an additional hour and did not leave until 12:00 p.m., causing me to arrive late to an event with more than 40 attendees waiting. The manager who originally took the order and guaranteed it would be ready was not present on the day of pickup, and the lack of coordination was evident. After living in Buckhead, thought I'd give this neighborhood restaurant a try. It was rated #7 for top 10 best souls food places to try so here we are on a Monday afternoon. It's not a sit down kind of place but they do have a couple of tables outside. You order and then wait for your meal to be packaged up in containers. It is super pricey for soul food but I will say they do overfill the containers with a lot of food. So I ordered three meals. One oxtail and brown gravy served over rice and had Mac and cheese and green beans. Then two fried chicken meals with Mac and cheese and sweet corn on one order and collard greens and cabbage on the other. The collard greens were SUPER salty that I could not eat more than a couple of bites but the cabbage and Mac and cheese were pretty good. You could definitely taste the butter in the veggies. I was a little confused between the fried chicken meal and the full 3 piece wing meal. I felt like we got the wings rather than actual fried chicken (breasts, drums and thighs). I was hoping to get some decent juicy fried chicken but the one thigh was greasy and and the wings were flavorless and dry. I did like that the chicken did not have a ton of breading on it. We ordered a lemonade jug and it was good and very sweet. I had to dilute it but it was good as a cocktail later that evening. The corn bread was okay and had sugar on it. I won't be giving this place another try. They had a decent crowd, lots of pick up orders. It was either super salty or not flavorful. I know everyone's palate is different but for me, I didn't have that "wow, this was really a yummy meal" satisfaction unfortunately. They do have a few outside tables but I haven't used them. To the food. Not bad but not great either. They use some strange flavoring in all of their food. So you can't escape the taste in their sides and main dishes. I had the oxtails which was a good portion but very expensive. One smothered turkey wing, two sides and corn bread is $22.09. Oxtail dinner, two sides and cornbread is $37.69. Three veggie plate with cornbread is $15.59. More sides are al la carte $7.79 each. A slice of sweet potato pie is $10.39 and I think very average to puny in size. You can purchase a whole sweet potato pie for $37. 69. The interior is bright and the line looks clean enough. Even though there was a head chef on site, the two pork chops in the pan looked burnt, dried out, and IMHO should have been taken off the line. I'll take Piccadilly anytime for a place to sit down, enjoy some southern goodies and have dessert for a fraction of the cost. The prices are double what you'll probably pay in a different neighborhood but, that didn't deter me from ordering a few items. I went with the smothered turkey wing. Anyway it was clean inside , with bench type seating next to the door while waiting on my order . There was a stand with hand sanitizer, the staff used gloves and mask. I saw a gentlemen bringing out fresh gloves and everything looked clean from my view. I had a veggie plate but there were a variety of meats . I tried the collards which was a nice portion size for seconds . It was so good ! The best part was it wasn't cooked in any pork. I think it's great because everyone doesn't eat pork . They had a little spicy kick but but enough to make you cough. It was seasoned just right . The cornbread dressing was moist and flavorful and I had a side of black eyed peas and a cornbread muffin came with the meal . Of course I couldn't leave without getting the peach cobbler . It was so good! My only regret is not having a little more crust . I know I didn't have any meat on this trip but I can't wait to go back for the catfish. They had meatloaf and I heard it was delicious too. I'm such a veggie head but I'll try some fish next time . Go for your self . if you like comfort food you will not regret it . Got a lunch special 2pc chicken with fries. Server told me they didn't have fries, so I could pick a side. Overall, 3/10 experience because of the small food portion for the hefty price. The chicken and mac n cheese were hot, and the service was fast. However, I witnessed her turn away an UberEats driver for some reason, even though it's advertised on the store front. What in the figgity fuq was this? I blame myself... for only checking the menu and not the reviews. This establishment overprices their food and sells you the lowest quality ingredients. That's the only way this business survives. Ain't no way people paying $40 for government ground turkey!!! That ish could not have been turkey, I ate half due to hunger and force feeding because I didn't want to waste $40!!! The food here is to be avoided, it's basura. The collards were extra salty, all menu items are not stocked and the peach cobbler was some mushy, gooey, barely sweet waste of space. If you're looking for a chaotic dining experience, this is the place for you. Tonight was an episode of what I ask for vs what I got. Location: Buckhead in a shopping plaza. There is plenty of parking but the restaurant next door blocks off parking spaces in the front after a certain time. Staff: Friendly Price: $$$ The prices are moderate to high. My Experience: This was my first visit and the long line was a clear indication that I should've gone elsewhere but I wanted to support this restaurant. I ordered a 3 piece fried chicken, corn, Mac & cheese and banana pudding which came to $35. Yes you read that correctly...$35!!! I received two pieces of chicken, collard greens, dry dressing &! This establishment is amazing!!. The staff were very hospitable! Upbeat and welcoming!. I'm from PA originally and moved far west, I've had food from all over and in between, this food took me back to my childhood!! It was like having a home cooked meal from my grandmother whom is no longer with us! I had the smothered turkey leg over white rice, string beans and yams, with peach cobbler. It was our first time having this spot and we saw it on tik tok and decided to give it a try. We are from out of town and we were on a mini vacay before the Xmas holiday. We wanted some nice southern food. So we came it was so so it could have been better the fish could have been cooked more, the mac/cheese was so so a bit runny and greens were good. Customer service was good. Friendly..maybe next time I come back to Atlanta I will try them again to see if anything has changed. read more
