I bought breakfast this morning from this place and was very disappointed. I ordered the early morning special with scrambled eggs with diced fresh jalapeños on top, French toast with fresh strawberries on top, Country potatoes, and Turkey bacon. The French toast were great, they provided a lot of strawberries. The turkey bacon and eggs were horrible. I believe the eggs are powered, it was very clear that the cook did not use fresh eggs and the bacon was extremely hard (which would be ok if I asked for well done bacon, so I will take that). There are not many breakfast places in Matteson, so I will venture outside of Mattone to try some more breakfast restaurants. read more

I really like this place. It's your standard breakfast but it's really tasty. The also are practicing great social distancing guidelines.

Ordered a vegetarian skillet. But to my surprise I had ham in it. Our server Laura was amazing but I'm assuming the owner doesn't like voiding orders because I was not going to pay for food I couldn't eat. He literally asked me can I pick it out..... They have a sanitation issue in the kitchen to the point they are cross contaminating food. The main goal should be to deliver good CLEAN food. I ate nothing I paid for my mom and sisters food and we left. They said their food was "okay" not worth it compared to other diners we've been to. When I was leaving I said bye to everyone including the owner the owner said nothing to me lol I didn't feel welcomed after they put ham in my vegetarian skillet. Coffee was funky tasting.  I ordered the blueberry pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs.  The eggs were overcooked and dry.   For a pancake house, they are using some cheap syrup.  The pancakes also were nothing to write home about. Glad we stopped here. Nice casual restaurant with quick service, clean, and great pricing. Ordered the works omelette and guest ordered steak scramble bowl. My omelette, pancakes, and country potatoes were delicious and only $9.99. My guest steak bowl was good but not seasoned at all. Sour cream, salsa, salt and pepper added and a lot more edible. We thoroughly Enjoyed great strawberry Belgian waffles, light fluffy topped with the perfect combination of fresh strawberries in light syrup ..the whipped cream fresh and ample..we added Canadian bacon to top it off. Our second treat came with your choice of cheese in a huge broccoli and cheese omelette which alone would have been enough but it is accompanied by hash browns and delicious pancakes..or if you fancy cottage potatoes or grits. Don't dismay there is butter and syrup served on the side. You will need a take home container for sure as these are very generous portions for your taste buds . Places like these are a dime a dozen in the burbs: Family restaurants built in the outer part of a strip mall parking lot. Come on now, you know the place. Admit it, you have probably been to dozens of these kinds of places and you probably thought that they were like all of the other places you have eaten. This place is the exception to the rule. Our waitress amused the hell out of me. She first greeted us with her eyes half closed and practically sleepwalking. As the coffee gradually kicked in, she started to perk up. It was quite amusing watching the transition. I ordered what is called a Bacado omelet. It had bacon, avocado, monterrey jack cheese and a side of salsa. I have never seen a combination like this on any menu anywhere and i was glad that I ordered it as it tasted phenomenal! I had a difficult time deciding because there were many other unique items on the menu, never before gracing my eyes on the menu of a family restaurant located on the outer edge of a strip mall parking lot. Unfortunately, I do not get out to Matteson very much so I am not sure when we will be back. :-( read more

You can totally skip this place. It's not even mediocre. The service was poor. I was there 10 minutes before I was asked if I wanted coffee, which was watered down. My meal, as well as the meals of the two others with me, was bad. I had the frittata dish. The Frittata dish did not state in the description that it had potatoes in it. At the end of the meal I told our waitress that none of us liked our meals. We didn't want a discount or anything. We just wanted to communicate that the food was not good. She said she would bring the manager over. The waitress was nice enough in listening to my complaints about the food. When the manager got around to us, I told her that the food was poor all around. She asked specifically what we didn't like. I didn't want to get into it with her but she pursued. I told her the frittata dish had potatoes in it and it did not mention it in the description. She replied that everybody knows a frittata is a open face potato dish. Really? EVERYBODY? A fritatta is in fact like a fried crustless quiche. Look it up Peachtree! Furthermore, the frittata said it came with "our salsa." I thought that homemade salsa would have been perfect! Unfortunately I received a ketchup cup sized amount of canned or jarred salsa with a huge potato-y frittata. I asked the waitress if I could have more salsa and she said there was an additional charge for each tiny cup. The dish was already $7.99. Additionally, the grits were lumpy and had uncooked grits at the center of the lump. The pancakes had a weird after taste. The sausage also had a weird flavor. There was a long disagreement about what an egg over hard was - the yolk was busted and a flat fried egg was served. The female manager turned what could have been constructive feedback into a disagreeable argument defending less than mediocre food. The cook is on vacation and doesn't care anymore. The manager is nasty and rude. I work hard for the money I spend and expect a moderate to delicious meal when I choose to eat out. I tried this place after a friend gave a strong recommendation. It's a very unassuming building in the middle of a strip mall parking lot, easy to pass right by. It used to be a Denny's back in the day so it still has that feel to it. Top notch service, good food, large portions. I ordered the Denver omelette and it had the most generous amount of ham I've ever had. The pancake syrup was nice and thick, not thin and watery like most places. Huge plate of food enough for 2 people all for $8. I will definitely be back any time I'm in the area. The only complaint I have is about the dim lighting, if you come on a cloudy day you will feel like you're eating in a cave, so you may want to request to sit by a window. read more

Not really sure how to rate this place seeing that I spent more time in the bathroom then actually eating. I can't say its their fault for my poor stomach condition but I can say that I wasn't too impressed with the food I ate. The veggie omelette was rather bland and my pancakes tasted like they were cooked with lemon juice. I have any overwhelmingly strong sensitivity to the taste of lemons. As much as I like it, I'm not interested in it being in my pancake batter. The one good thing they had was a soup with black eye peas in it and ham. THIS FOODIE LOVES PEACHTREE!!! I will try to keep this short & sweet, however, I get really excited about good food. I have recently started eating skillets and I am hooked on the Venetian at Peachtree. As a matter of fact, I have recommended at least three new patrons, now Venetian lovers, to the cafe. My wife and I were in the area today and found this diner via Yelp. We were certainly pleased that we did. We both had breakfast for lunch, a bacado omelet, grits, and Greek toast. The service was friendly and prompt, the food came in a reasonable time and was hot and fresh. And most importantly, our coffee cups never went empty until we were ready to leave. Once I got my food it already wasn't fresh and I also did not like it. I barely touched it and I asked them can I change it out for something else. Overall, this place is pretty good! Don't let its plain outer appearance scare you away! It's packed now (on a Saturday morning), so they must be doing something right. My server was very warm/friendly, and you get a free crepe on your b-day! The eggs benedict was pretty good, although I wish the hollandaise sauce had a bit more flavor to it. No biggie, though, because it still tasted good. You can tell the country potatoes are made from scratch, and they are really, really good. Our waitress was great the hostess seated us right away! Both were very friendly! We sat down waitress greeted us with water and asked if we'd like coffee or juice. I'm kinda a coffee snob but I have to have coffee in the morning so I had to have a cup and I'm going to say it was pretty dang good cup of Joe!
