The bartenders suck here. They've been very rude to our wedding guests. They take about 45 minutes to make a drink. They will tell you to wait at your table and order there but I haven't seen one bartender walking around. read more

Love the Energy in the vibe truly vibrant colors love the seating area and all the bartenders were very friendly fortunately I would cross the street in my downtown so I should have been here more often but this was my first visit and the last only because I'm moving. Stopped in for an evening nightcap and they're absolutely delicious warm apple cobbler served all a mode with vanilla ice cream. A must have! With hot coffee and Baileys Irish cream. Very nice decor. Elegant wallpapers, inviting lighting, Norah Jones music in the background. Absolutely splendid. Next table had group of noisy and tipsy young adults. Not so splendid. Had grilled cheese and soup. Absolutely splendid. The chicken tenders, though, were probably ordered from KFC next door. Not so splendid. But the server was absolutely splendid. I had dinner and drinks here on a business trip. I ordered the cheeseburger - which was prepared just as I ordered it. Good eats. The ambience is incredible - as opulent as one would expect from a Davenport establishment. The stained glass ceiling has to be seen to be appreciated... The real jewel for me was the service and the bartending. I ordered a simple "old fashioned," and the bartender recommended Bulleit Bourbon, which I happily agreed to. Best Old Fashioned ever. Update. My father visited and wanted to check Peacock out because it looked nice. So I went back to please him. They served us right away of course because this time I was not a women alone (like the previous two awful visits in which I was blatantly ignored). Dad's a martini connoisseur so we order a couple. I have to say - those were outstanding martinis! We went back on his next visit - same thing. Consistent. Moved my score to two stars for consistently excellent martinis. This is a great hotel lounge - I did a quick overnight in Spokane and this place hit the spot. The cocktails are definitely their specialty - the beer and wine lists are slightly below average, but the cocktails make up the gap. The drinks are stiff and the food is very satisfying. We were showing up before our Masquerade this weekend and literally tons of guests told us how good we looked and that is the friendly vibes you can find in Spokane. Loved my drink - I cannot remember what it was called but it was fresh with ginger beer and whiskey which are two of my favorite combos. I expected a lot more from the Peacock Room. I'd seen all the colorful photos and fancy martini drinks, and was ready to be wowed by uniqueness and luxury. Sadly, it struck me as a glorified sports bar with peacock decor. Taxidermy peacocks and all. I had a $15 glass of red wine (yikes!) and the crab cakes ($16.5), both were fine but I definitely felt ripped off by hotel bar pricing. Nice that they serve food until 11pm, but you'll pay for the convenience. I splurged on dessert, the apple crisp with Tillamook ice cream, which was for sure delicious but I soon noticed a pool of liquid grease forming around the edge of the dish, so I couldn't finish. A fine place if you're desperate for a late night meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit while in Spokane. read more

Coffee served in a FILTHY coffee cup. Extremely disappointing. Located inside the Davenport Hotel, our first impression was very favorable. The Davenport is a very nice hotel and we were looking forward to enjoying some cocktails, desert and coffee at the Peacock Room. We ordered our deserts, cocktails and coffee and I immediately noticed how dirty the coffee cup was. I used my thumb to wipe a section clean for comparison. There is a beautiful backlit stained glass window that greets you when you come in from the hotel entrance. There are also stuffed peacocks at the top of the bar. Classic, classy place where you can get some drinks with your friends and your service will be as attentive or discreet as you want. Expected it to be mostly an older crowd but saw a lot of diversity of ages. I visited during the summer and loved their summer specialty drinks, including their "summer julep," a twist on the old favorite. read more

This place has the best happy hour! Half price all drinks. Our waitress was super helpful and sweet & our food was delicious. We got the appetizer trio which was incredible and of course had to get 4 desserts to try! Loved the sundae with peanut brittle in it and the raspberry sorbet but honestly they were all to die for. 3.5 stars. One of the hotel restaurants. It is nicely decorated. It gets crowded and a bit noisy with the customers and sports playing on the TVs, so not for a quiet work dinner. You seat yourself, so hopefully a server will notice you quickly. Nice menu, a few more things than you can get with room service. It seems to stay pretty busy, so bar items take a while. The food I had was good. Once noticed, my service was good. Little bit spendy. Overall, a solid choice for drinks and food on a work trip and staying nearby. read more

my girl and i came here for drinks to celebrate our year together and we both had the delicious lilac city cocktail. the entire davenport is so gorgeous including the lounge, but the guests were more than inviting. one man kept coming up to us and harassing us and thankfully our bartender alexis would tell him to leave every time. a true girl's girl ! we loved her, the industry needs more bartenders that look out for women's safety as well as she did. five stars drinks and service, four star food. read more

I've only hit this place for a happy hour glass of wine after work, but I would like to come back to try some of the food. The interior is a fun mix of beautiful and gaudy at the same time, but I am admittedly a sucker for swanky bars in fancy old hotels. (Although I am taking creative liberty with my use of swanky..) The service was right on par. The server was patient and returned in an appropriate amount of time to check to see if we were ready. She was prompt with the check, and she was polite but not interested in engaging in conversation, which was totally fine with me. I also give them a little credit because their "house wine" served for happy hour is Arbor Crest. I've seen many a place do Franzia boxed wine as their "house wine", so it was refreshing to see something not boxed and local. It bills itself as a jazz club, and I do love jazz, so I will have to come back when there is some music sometime. read more

Came here for some scotch and dinner. I had a great time hanging with the bartenders, they let me sample whatever I wanted, and discovered a new scotch of my liking. The French Dip was great, the meat was medium rare and sliced really thin. The horseradish was solid. Went to the Peacock Lounge last week for one last drink after my girlfriends birthday dinner. I ordered a glass of wine and my gal a martini. When the server and the person she was training delivered our drinks, they spilled the whole martini in my lap. They did apologize. When the bill came, they charged me full price for both drinks. I was expecting they would comp the drink or at least take a few bucks off but apparently they have no issues spilling drinks on patrons and expect that it will be no big deal. I wrote the Davenport/peacock lounge the day after this happened, expecting at least an apology email, but literally no response. First time in my life I've had a drink spilled in my lap with zero compensation for it. For a high end establishment, I was very disappointed in how they handled it. When you go there, make sure to ask for the wet pants and $30 tab special, it has to be one of the best deals in town! read more

Dropped in after a matinee concert at the Fox Theater. Walked over on an early damp Autumn evening. The Lounge is a comfortable, dark and classy environment perfectly suited for drinks and dining. We enjoyed cocktails and appetizers before dinner. The Jumbo Prawn cocktail was tasty but the crabcake was superb. prepared a bit crusty on the outside but soft and flavorful within, a pre-dinner highlight. We enjoyed the rib-eye and braised short rib dinners. Both were excellent, my rib-eye was among the best steaks I've ever enjoyed. The accompanying sides, mashed potato and braised vegetables were fine. A glass of pinot made dinner perfect. We were somewhat formally dressed but were surrounded by casual diners. Like Churchill's, you'll see everything from tuxedos to sweats drinking and dining here. The bill was quite pricey but the food, drinks, environment and service trumps that easily. The Davenport hotel is wildly historic and it's a nice stop when you can come and stop in at the Peacock room to have a drink and some grub...I really like the King Louis salad because it's a great salad and the history behind it is cool...the creme brûlée isn't bad either!!...we had the cougar gold cheese which was a good app as well...nice little spot to chill and take it easy... read more

I like the low key but active attitude the Peacock Lounge displays. My latest encounter with the Lounge was because I had not made a reservation for the Palm Court. I came in for dinner before a Symphony Concert so I was tuxxed up and bow tied, but the servers didn't seem to mind. I was treated very well and the server took my order (crab Louis and a couple of drinks) dispatching it very quickly. When I questioned the appearance of the salad, he even explained why they made the change-price of crab. So yes folks the inflation bug has hit our local restaurant scene as well. Nevertheless we can still dine out and still enjoy it. If there was anything that dropped the rating from five stars to four, it was that traffic in the Lounge seemed to increase in speed. Service from my guy was superb in all ways and he was pleasant in every way. I'm mightily impressed that service is still as high as when the Worthys owned the Hotel. Next time, I'll be sure to think about the Peacock Lounge as a first choice especially late night after a Symphony Concert. It's worth its weight in dining gold. read more
