I'm giving 5 stars for a few reasons. First, plenty of tv's to watch your favorite team on. Just ask them to put a game on and they will do it. Second, food is delicious and priced just right. Third, service is good, I've never had a problem with it. Fourth, great place to hang out with family and friends and shoot pool or whatever. Fifth, wifi spot. So my bf and I went to grab some lunch. I ordered the fish and chips and he had a mushroom Swiss burger. When the food arrived and I took a bite my smile turned into a frown. I was disappointed the cod was lukewarm and soggy. I didn't send it back but looked sadly down on my plate wondering how this place didn't succeed on frying a piece of fish. Showed up around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday night after flying in. Ordered a couple pitchers and a sampler platter. finished that with a quickness and then got to drinking. Played pool and drank until they shut it down. The bartender was super nice, she poured us a lot of beers and shots and when we complained about the music she let us put on whatever wanted. If I were ever in Anchorage during football season this would be my office. Prices were not too crazy for Alaska. Came in near late night. A rather large sports bar as far as Alaska goes, but has a sense of technology and pro-sport adoration large cities offer. Two separate areas make up its elongated infrastructure that promote a different feel. Pros: *decent seating and menu, both drinks and food wise. It is pretty big and has a wooden, I'm guessing older section that compliments the moody, tv screen clad section. The menu is extensive and some will say expensive but mainly pub food. Don't come here expecting something grandeur in nature. Order something substantial, and avoid the appetizers if you don't want cheap food; though the wings are not bad. *entertainment is present. There are a few pool tables, and televisions attached to the booths. Great for casual sport watchers and friends. On busy nights, don't expect to gain access to the pool tables, for there aren't many, but it's convenient when business is steady or slow. * service is good. The service is attentive and appreciative in the restaurant area. If you are in the old, wooden section; basically a bar section, I recommend talking to the bartender to let them know you want service, for people seem to come and go at a casual rate without any form of hosting. None the less, the staff was polite and enthusiastic. * sporty, themed events. Every now and then they have fun competitions of a sort. I walked in on a group doing flippy cup which was nice. Perhaps this is a bias because I joined in. Fuck yeah, drinking games. * live music. They have bands and at other times single artists doing what they can. Music hand made to order is always nice. Cons: * Alaska does not have many sporty venues and this is popular one. It can get busy fast. Check out the business before you decide to sit, or you will find yourself in service limbo. *cleanliness is a little lacking. Just observe some of the TVs at your table and you'll understand quickly that they should probably hire someone to do some fine detailing. Perhaps it's my gentle OCD, but it would be nice to see a screen without drunken finger prints and grime all over them. Synopsis is that this place is not half bad, especially for casual sports goers. Even then, great place to eat and drink, though the abundant amount of screens can be distracting from social endeavors. The servers are veterans and the food ample, though the appetizers are greasy and cliche. Stick to a real entree and real drinks (the Alaskan Long Island iced tea is very, very strong) and you'll be having a good experience in no time. read more

Met a group of friends here for dinner. A buddy and I split two pounds of wings. Got them naked with the Honey BBQ and 2 Alarm sauces on the side. Both were good, the 2 Alarm had good flavor, but wasn't extremely hot. A nice burn, but bearable. The Cheesy Fries were also excellent. This place, yes it has lots of TV's for sports, so if thats what you are looking for, it's perfect. They have a nice outside patio but that's about all I can say postive for Peanut Farm. I have been there 4 times, once by my choice and three times because friends wanted to go. I have not ordered one meal that was decent. Everytime I have had food it was HORRIBLE. Maybe I'm not trying the right thing...but my friends burger looked like it came from a school cafeteria. Everytime I've been there the bartender and/or server has been rude acting as if they are "important" for working there. Come on... Ok, so I do a lot of traveling and it just so happened that my dad was working at EDF AFB in Anchorage. Looking for a place to eat kind of late one night someone recommends the peanut farm, man am I glad they did. The wings at the farm are some of the best that Ive ever had and believe me thats saying a lot. I've been to more sports bars and restaurants that boast great wings that don't come close to these. As for the service, every time I went it was as good as you could ask for. And as you can see, if your a sports fan of any kind this is the place to be during a game. If only a plane ticket from NC wasn't so much and it didn't take 12 hours, I'd be a regular. ENJOY!! read more

I have been to the Peanut Farm previously and service was good and so was the food. However, yesterday I went there and met up with 10 others. The waitress came over to take our drink order and we told her we were wanting to have separate checks for different groups of people. The waitress walked away with an attitude and after waiting over 25 min just for water and drinks we had to go to the bar to get water. We asked for a manager and had to wait another 10 min before the Manager came over and re-took our drink order. Finally after 45 min wait we were able to order our food. The manager became our waitress for the rest of the day and things went smoothly. I will think twice before going there again with any big party. (over 4 people). The food tasted good. I think that the 1st person who served our table wont be there long. read more

My friend and I decided to make one last stand before our 12:30 AM flight out of Anchorage. After barging into a steakhouse that turned out to be closed (I blame how deceptively light it is at 10 PM during the summer), we were advised that the Peanut Farm is the place to go. It looks like there's a smaller, homier bar here, as well as a bigger area (which is where we ended up) that has TVs high up surrounding the entire room. If you choose to sit in a booth, you get your own TV as well, which is pretty much the whole point of going to a sports bar. We sat at the main bar, which goes right under the elevated TVs. Our waitress was solid, although it took some time for us to place our initial order and get our food. The beer selection is solid - a lot of local Alaska drafts, as well as other craft brews from the Pacific Northwest. We got a pound of wings, which is actually a bit less than you would think (maybe 8-10 wings total), but we loaded up and got the spiciest ones possible. They aren't hot right off, but they have the slow burn that will pretty much light your mouth on fire a few minutes after you've chowed down....I learned this the hard way. If most bars were set up like Peanut Farm, I'd be pretty happy. Good selection, pretty much all the sports you can watch at one time - what more can you ask for? I guess I could see it getting pretty loud in here depending on when you come in, but at least at 10:30-11 on a weekday night, it was pretty reasonable. read more

Are you ready for some football??? This is a great place to catch a game, have some good food, beverages and even a pool game if you so desire. I had a craving all week for their Fire Fries and let me tell you...delicious!!! I ordered them and asked if they would be kind enough to add bacon, cheese, and sour cream...they of course said absolutely for a small up-charge. It was well worth it to me as it really hit the spot. It was a great portion size. They have a great selection of other food. It is a louder environment as to be expected for a sports bar. Typical late night greasy bar food. Which isn't a bad thing but if you are coming for great memorable food then just don't. I come to Anchorage for work 4-5 weeks a year and eat out 2-3 times a day when I'm here. Quality of food is below average for Anchorage. They have upgraded their menu and added some interesting dishes but still standard fair at best. I have tried several lunch items and it is a touch better than Dennys. I typically get the French dip with a salad. It's good, not great. The new prime rib one is more expensive and very fatty, not my thing. HERE IS THE THING- A WELCOME VIEW OF THE CREEK in the back and a great selection of beers. The pricing is below average for Anchorage and a great view. I say come here when you are more interested in a easy meal with a great view and robust beer list, then a true Alaskan food experience.
