This new dim sum restaurant at hacienda crossings in Dublin is huge, welcoming and well decorated. A nice place for a large gathering and family meal. The dim sum was tasty with the highlight being the tofu skin roll. The green beans with minced pork and beef chow fun were decent but not the most flavorful. Pearl Bay Manor is located in Hacienda Crossings Shopping Center. I believe they are the sister location to the one in SL. The restaurant may be a bit hidden at first, but they are close to the main entrance by the Regal theater. This is a pretty busy plaza, so parking may be hit or miss, depending on when you go. Good service from the employee at the front counter that night, she was friendly and helped us find what we were looking for on the menu. I was craving steamed chicken and after multiple unsuccessful attempts of finding a spot that still has it in the evening, we were able to find it here here. We ordered their Steamed Chicken With Ginger Scallion Oil and some rice to go. The chicken was not exactly what I was looking for, but it was okay to semi-satisfy my cravings for that night. We did get a good amount of chicken - the only major complaint was most of the chicken pieces were a bit bony and did not have that much meat. read more

I came here with the family on Saturday and here is my summary of the restaurant: 1) The wait at 12:20pm for a party of five was not bad as we waited only 30 minutes, 4 stars. 2) The service is not up to par with other dim sum places in this area, 2.5 stars. We sat down for 10 minutes and no one came to ask the type of tea we want to drink. We had to ask twice for tea and iced water. 3) The food was just okay, 3 stars. We ordered the following items: Claypot fried rice special (big portion), salted duck egg pumpkin, Chiu Chow dumpling, braised chicken feet, siu mai, truffle dumpling, seaweed appetizer, spared ribs, pumpkin fried ball, and coconut mochi. The pumpkin, claypot fried rice, and seaweed appetizer came out first. After 15 minutes, the dim sum began to arrive one by one. The most memorable dish was the spared ribs. Please skip the desserts as they were not good at all. 4) Parking is plentiful, 4.5 stars. Verdict: I would stick with Koi Palace for dim sum as the food and service are better. Food was okay, but to me it wasn't the best dim sum I've had. I understand that tips are usually around 18% or more for good service, but if the restaurant has a mandatory gratuity policy for groups of 5-6 or more, it should be automatically included as a gratuity or service charge on the bill. Being asked to increase the tip after the bill was already paid made me feel uncomfortable. I did adjust my tip, but unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression and I don't think I would return. read more

Went there a couple times; once alone, second time with some family. Both times were equally good and imho I actually enjoyed it. A new dim sum spot in Dublin that I am glad to see open up since there aren't that many in the livermore area! This place was already packed 30 mins after opening on Lunar New Years Eve day. The front entrance actually is parallel to the movies that is right across the way which was a little confusing as they did have their "Grand Opening" banner on the side of the building. We were a group of five and got seated almost immediately. The service was fast but the servers lacked the hospitality which is expected. Ordering was through paper and pencil, most of the carts in dim sum restaurants are gone which is sad to see but we were able to get our typical dishes. Most items were pretty good to get that fix in but some dishes did come out a little cold which was off putting. Nonetheless, this spot is solid for a good dim sum spot! read more

Beautiful interior, and great service from what I experienced in takeout. The prices are quite high for dim-sum - $16 for Chinese Broccoli and a small takeout bag charge... seriously? And I later found the prices at the bottom of the front page of the menu. The items tasted fresh and didn't seem like they were store bought. Some of the items I had (Chinese broccoli, short ribs) were prepared SUPER oily. We went here to compare it with Koi Palace. Ambience wise, Pearl is better because it's bright and spacious with high ceiling. Flavor wise, Koi is stilk better. Service wise, we like Koi better. Koi's peking duck is better and unfortunately Pearl can't match the same level of crispiness and deliciousness. Dimsum-wise it's good but it lacks that flavor especially when you're accustommed to Chinese flavor. read more

I have gone to their San Leandro locations and loved it there and now I still love this place but with a 10 minute drive from my home. Everything we had was great. My buddy George Fan, a famous Yelper, and I ate the organs most poor people throw away and we loved it! My favorite dish was the pork and bitter melon noodle dish. Had dinner at this restaurant across from the theaters. We didn't have reservations for this Sunday evening at 6pm, but they were able to seat our party of 6. Waitress was trying to push us to order fish or lobster, but we weren't in the mood for it. We had the Westlake beef soup (8 out of 10), salt and pepper calamari (6 - batter soggy), salt and pepper tofu (6 - no flavor), pea sprouts (8), pork cheek with okra (8), beef tenderloin and scallops with asparagus (8), combo chow fun (9), squab (8), complimentary red bean soup (5). The service was a little odd. They were anxious to change out our plates right after the first 2 items were served, and then again after another 2 items were served. And then they didn't offer again. They didn't bother picking up the soup bowls after we all finished our soups, nor did they take the empty serving plates until we asked them to. So it wasn't bad service, just odd. Overall a solid 4 out of 5. Mom was in the mood for some dim sum so wanted to try the new dim sum Chinese restaurant that just opened up in Dublin. The place itself is pretty immense and I would think would be a pretty good place to host a family banquet albeit it seems to be one big room so you wouldn't have any privacy since you would be eating with the other customers. And a nice bonus to see live fish/seafood tanks..it definitely seems to be a sort of dying aspect to see in restaurants at least in the tri-valley. Anyways, the staff seem pretty friendly and we're pretty attentive to my requests and they took our empty steamer baskets and dim sum plates pretty quickly. A slight bonus for having my tea that could be requested. The prices are a tad high, so it's a place where I'll eat once in awhile but not on a regular basis since they do seem to be expensive...I wanted to order some beef chow fun but not for $25 for a plate of it..so I opted to order the usual dim sum, har gow, sui mai, sticky rice and bbq bow..and all were very good in terms of taste and flavor. The restaurant decor is typical of the higher end Chinese banquet halls, with decorative light fixtures, embroidered chair backs, and better than butcher paper table coverings. You order by marking a color printed menu. (I think this practice is very inefficient and wasteful as each full color picture menu - probably an 11x17 sheet of paper - can be used only once. Also it must be a pain for the wait staff to peruse the entire menu front and back to figure out what you want. It would be better to have a reusable menu with more description and maybe a single printed list that you can mark off the corresponding items you want.) The service was pretty good, but I was disappointed in the food itself. While the har gow was nicely sized with a good portion of shrimp, and the xlb was nicely sized, they were both lacking in flavor. The taro puffs were just ok. The pan fried pork buns had a nice breading, but the stuffing was steamed pork rather than char sui. It would have helped if the menu had descriptions so that we could have know this beforehand. The lack of description lead us to order the purple potato pancakes only to discover that the filling included peanuts (to which my son is allergic). We also ordered the rice noodles with beef. While I liked the crispy pan fried noodle shell, the dish itself was pretty bland. The bill for 4 people came to $140 before tax and tip. I wouldn't have minded the $1 charge for each ice water and the $2 charge for each tea if the food was worth it overall, but the lack of flavor was a disappointment. Another dim sum restaurant in Dublin. So jealous!! We decided to try this one out since we saw it on IG and it was delicious! Parking was easy since it was at Hacienda Crossing and surprisingly enough we didn't even have to wait! We were seated in a private room with larger parties and our food came out fairly quickly. Everything was delicious, the only bad part was that some of our food came out 30 minutes later and no one came to refill our waters. A great addition to Trivalley. Pretty spacious and nice wall paper. Visited on a long wkend - line was short but chaotic. Three hosts but all confused about what to do. It's been three months since their opening - and I think management should spend more time in training. It was confusing for patrons who were waiting - some given a ticket whereas my group and few others were not assigned a ticket (though we all did wait in line to tell them number of people). Food wise, there was quite some wait and it took about 8-12 mins in between dimsum servings. The food was served one at a time, and/or they forgot to key in items that were circled on the menu. Next table waited too long for their xiaolongbao and ended requesting for a cancellation. Siumai, BBQ pork buns were all food. Average for chicken feet and rice crepe rolls. Dim sum, yum yum. Good place to go. Came with friends, some new to the dim sum experience, on a Friday late morning. We were seated even though not all of the party were there yet. PBM's dining area is not as immense as other places, but still a large size within an elegant, high ceiling space. We ordered: Siu mai, sticky rice in lotus leaf, veggie & pork wraps in soy bean skin, steamed BBQ pork bun w/abalone sauce, deep fried taro dumpling, veggie spring roll, black steamed bun w/egg yolk, coconut soft dumplings (with black sesame filling), pea sprouts in supreme broth, black fungus, and Chinese broccoli w/oyster sauce. The chili crisp and hot mustard came in small side dishes. Also ordered Chrysanthemum tea, water with ice and no ice. The classic siu mai, especially flavorful and tender such that we ordered another round, happened to be one of the discounted specials that day. Fluffy was the cha siu baau bread, filling also tender and the BBQ flavor was lighter than what I'm used to which is a good thing. Both the coconut soft dumplings and the black steamed buns had that nice sweet salty combination. The coconut dumplings were a favorite. The sprouts, broccoli and black fungus - delicious! Minimal leftovers. The kitchen was quick with the food. People enjoyed trying new dishes though some were dubius about molten yolks. They got a kick out of the lazy Susan and were impressed by the bank of aquariums showcasing future seafood including a huge crab and large alien looking geoduck clams. There were plentiful and busy wait staff, responsive to waved hands, requests for water and chili crisp refills. No problems parking in this movie theater shopping complex. This is waiter not sure his name. He's like having a deaf ears. At first we asked him to add one more dish, he said he will be right back, then he went talked with the table literally next to us, and went away. After 10 minutes, We again waved at him and he again ignored us, after another 10 minutes, we called out to him and he again said will be a minute. After 35 minutes waiting, and communicated to him 5 times, we gave up and walked the counter to add th dish we want. This guy intentionally ignored us, it's so rude. We will never come back to us. I hope the boss of this restaurant knows how his treated his customers. From the moment we were seated the staff was so kind and accommodating, especially since I had my rambunctious toddler with us. I even noticed another large group was celebrating a birthday and the staff helped bring out the cake, cut, and serve it to the guests at the table. Outstanding customer service! The food was hot and delicious with many options on the menu. We will definitely have to come back for the Dim Sum! Seafood chow fun was very good, fish, squid mixed with thick rice noodles. Beef and scallop in cellophane noodle nest, asparagus, macadamia nuts, mix veggie, tender loin beef was excellent. First time here and honestly, pretty disappointing. The food was about a 3/10 -- very bland overall. The roast duck sauce was extremely watery, and the BBQ pork tasted like it had been microwaved with just a hint of sugar. We couldn't even finish the dishes because of how lackluster everything was. What made it worse is that two dishes came out to $80, which definitely didn't match the quality. We ended up taking the leftovers to go just because of the price we spent on it. To top it off, we asked for extra sauce for the duck, and the waiter brought out a small empty cup... with no sauce. Not sure what we were supposed to do with that. Their menu appears to have more variety than the competition and competitively priced for like item (maybe $0.50-$1.00 cheaper each). There is also a tea charge of $2 per person or $1 for iced/hot water. The food was above average, three were excellent and two were just bad. Overall, it was pretty good. Not great. I'm marking off a star because of the wait time since they kept announcing it in Cantonese. I had to keep asking for the waiting list numbers in English. Food was nice and tasty. Service was a little slow, probably because they are having a grand opening. Atmosphere including the decor was nice. Tea was flavorful.
