Gigantic shrimp po boy for my customer. Clam chowder had no meat no fish no shrimp & no clams, given it was flavorful. Grant you that. The bowl seemed like a cup size. We did get great service from variety of staff checking on us, thanks for that. Lots of choices in this area. read more

Delicious seafood place! Fun atmosphere, was busy for a Friday night, but still had great service. We had hushpuppies to start, they were meh. Overcooked and dipping sauce was way too sweet. Great wine menu, didn't just have the same boring options you see everywhere. Both our fish was cooked perfectly! We both had blackened, I had sea bass, hubby had halibut. His forbidden rice was over cooked, was a bit mushy. But you never see it on a menu, so points for that. I had the corn and crab side, which was ok, not sure worth $10 though. Hubby had a slice of coconut cream pie, which was ok, had a strangely thick breast crust, not flaky at all. In short, would absolutely come back, will just skip apps and dessert next time. read more

This was my first visit and will not be my last. I decided to try it for KC Restarts Week 2019. The food was good but the service could have been better. Adam was the waiter. I'm not sure if he was new but he forgot the kiddo's sprite when he brought the adult waters and librations. He left empty plates on the table when he dropped off the entree's. I ordered the Bourbon Orange Crush. It was good but filled to the brim with crushed iced. For my meal I had the Clam Chowder and Fish and chips. The Haddock was good and loved the breading. For my dessert (didn't come with kcrw lunch) I ordered the French Silk pie which I had to send it back because it didn't taste fresh. My friend ordered the Tavern Gumbo, Salmon, Mashed Potatoes, and asparagus. She enjoyed it. We both had never heard of "forbidden rice" that was in the gumbo. It had a purple color but tasty. The restaurant is very nice. They are known for their fresh oysters and fish. The bars area has ally of seating. It is a good spot for a large group as long as you make reservations. The place has been open for 2 weeks. Holy smokes! Soooo Good! Be clear: this is a high-quality seafood place. I should know- I have lived 100 yards from the ocean, and worked in fine seafood places before. Seafood places are about a few things. But the main thing is what is the sourcing of the seafood. It is obvious these guys have gone out of their way to get proper high quality sourcing. What we had: Jumbo shrimp app. Ridiculously substantial and TASTY. Ceviche. Best I have had. Crab cake meal. We dined here on opening night and what a treat! Not only was the opening smooth but the food was fabulous! Becci was our server and was phenomenal. This is the best all around seafood that I've had in the Midwest. We tried the hot peel and eat shrimp, crab cakes, clam chowder, gumbo, scallops dish, and the king salmon dish. Lees summit area near Kansas City. This review is for their happy hour. It is amazing if you love oysters! $1 oysters during happy hour 3-6pm daily. I like to eat oysters topped with cocktail sauce, small amount of horseradish, and a squeeze of lemon. Try that combination! It is seriously so good. Other items I tried on the HH menu were the corn hushpuppies served with a delicious sweet sauce, blackened shrimp tacos served with an herbed habanero sauce, and the ceviche served with fried naan and guacamole mix, and drink strawberry basil lemonade crush with vodka. All were amazing! Definitely will be coming back to try their other HH items and oysters again. read more

After hearing great things about the food, we finally made our way to Pearl Tavern. The food did not disappoint. We had a dozen West coast oysters very good, but a bit pricey at $4 each. She had the Salmon stuffed with mushroms which she said was great. I had the Halibut off the fresh list and it was amazing. Each of us had a dessert which where very good. The only thing that kept this review from being 5 stars was the service. The service was not bad, but our server got slammed and everything slowed down dramtically after that. They seem to be understaffed, like every other food establishment at the moment, so it was hard to blame our server. We will be back. read more

I went with my family of 3. Then, went on a adventure in the sea, on my tongue. I was salivating at the touch of food.The smell was unpleasant though. When I initially walked in I waited for a long time till I was approached. While I was waiting, multiple people went in front of us. The waiter was okay. He took a longer time,and got multiple things wrong.It was my first time eating an oyster and it wasn't pleasant. The food I got was the Alfredo shrimp and it slid down my throat like a slug on a slip n slide. Did you put delicious slug juice on it?! This place was great and, for fish, it was relatively inexpensive. I got mahi mahi and we had a dip the waitress recommended for an appetizer. My husband, two kids (age 7 and 4), and I went for my birthday. I wouldn't say it's child friendly because it is a quieter atmosphere, but we weren't the only ones with kids and no one was rude about it. I would definitely recommend and go back. read more

My sweetheart took me here last night for fathers day dinner. Overall I would say it was one of the best meals I've had this year. We had the brussels sprout appetizer along with the hush puppies. Brussels sprouts were excellent, the hush puppies were average. For dinner I had the Barramundi and she had the mushrooms stuffed salmon. Both were excellent although I think I liked her salmon a little better. Service was a little slow but she apologized early on saying that they were still getting used to all capacity. Went here for my birthday dinner on a Thursday night. I walked in and the place, to my surprise, was packed!! A little bit of everyone sprinkled around the restaurant. We had 7pm reservations and were seated right away. We were seated at a high top in the bar area. I didn't love the location as I could reach out and touch a person sitting at the bar and I felt like I had to keep my elbows in out of fear that someone may bump me while walking by but it didn't ruin my evening. The service was timely. So timely that before the hostess could walk away on one side of the table the server appeared on the other! She was great though. Everything we ordered came out correctly and she checked on us several times throughout our visit. We ordered the blue crab dip appetizer. It was good but not great. I felt all of the flavors were kind of muddled together and it left a bit to be desired. For our entrees (which came out of the kitchen extremely fast!) we shared the swordfish with mashed potatoes and asparagus and the lobster roll. Both were prepared very well and tasted great. The swordfish was my favorite, we had it blackened. The lemon sauce it was served with was an added welcomed bonus. The asparagus was grilled to perfection but the mashed potatoes could have been better. The lobster roll was tasty. Quality lobster and sauce. No complaints there! My husband and I had a hour to fill it before my hair appointment and we don't eat meat so we look for somewhere there was more seafood or playing bass and we came across this place. The flavor was good with the right amount of kick.I tried the calamari which I really enjoyed. The calamari had flavor and it came with three different dipping sauces. Came here on a date night. What an awesome place. The atmosphere feels upscale and the oyster bar is pretty awesome too look at. If you're a seafood junkie like me then this is a fantastic hang for the southland. There is a large bar and tons of seating. The menu is pretty extensive with options for everyone. We chose Pearl Tavern for a celebratory meal after graduation. Due to COVID, we opted for takeout. The Parmesan sole was phenomenal however the clam chowder was not good and the tavern boil was not only overcooked and rubbery, they left out the shrimp. They were not friendly when confronted with the error, and asked "well what do you want us to do about it?" on the phone. Eventually, we received a recook of the tavern boil which was MUCH better but we likely will not be back because of unfriendly and unaccommodating customer service. read more

Have to say as a Lee's Summit resident I am always glad to have new restaurant offerings come to town, but this one is somewhat overpriced and leaves a bit to be desired in service and food quality.
