This is one of our usual stops on the way to Reno/Tahoe. We even drove here once just to pick up goodies for Christmas. We love Pedrick! Our go-tos include the fresh tamales, dried fruits, corn (always so sweet) and any specialty seasonal items. Their lavender lasted three years for me, no joke. They still smelled great after I dried them. Pumpkins are another fun one, grown nearby. And if you're a hot sauce fanatic, they've got a whole wall full so knock yourself out. I don't live in the area, but I often travel to Sacramento from the Bay Area to visit family and every time I go I stopped to pick up something to cook while I'm in Sacramento and then I stop on my way back to the barrier to get things for my house. It's a really cool store with amazing local produce and one thing I like about it is all of the food is very seasonal. What is growing is what is in the store. read more

I recently stopped by here to get some cherries and picked a few things. The cherries were really good but I got two bags of toffee covered peanuts and both bags were good size peanuts on top of bag but once you get to bottom it isn't nothing but small pieces and crumb type leftovers. I swear both of these bags had nice peanuts on top and bottom was nothing but left over type nuts. I thought maybe it was just that bag but exactly the same with second bag. They make sure to put the old small pieces on each of the bags and most likely to the same with other. I wouldn't come back to this place. read more

If you're looking for a deal on food, this is a pricey farmers market, but if you're looking for unique hot sauces or marinades...especially with funny names...you gotta check this place out. Also, during watermelon season, you can find different types of watermelons that you don't normally see at your typical grocery store. They have yellow and orange watermelon, orange is my favourite. What a random but busy spot! It's off the freeway and we were on the way to a little cafe in Dixon, CA (thanks to Yelp recs) and saw this produce store. Shortly after googling, I saw how highly rated it was so we had to check it out. It makes sense! The organic berries are a STEAL!!! Cheaper than any farmer market I've seen. They also have a lot of other fresh produce and nuts in all kind of flavors (ie. honey almonds, raspberry almonds, etc). They also sell tamales which I bought one pork and one chicken but nothing to write home about. I'd definitely come back to get berries in the future though! read more

This time I was advise to get tamales and I haven't had one before so I took her up on her recommendation. I went to the car to try them after purchase since I needed a snack anyways and these tamales were amazing. Great flavor , they were nice and soft as well. Fresh bing cherries that were so sweet and delicious were a bargain at only 99 cents per pound. So many varieties of fresh peaches. We snagged some galaxy donut white peaches to enjoy during our road trip. Lots of dried California fruits. The dried peaches and pears are amazing. Grab a bag of mixed fruits for a samplers blend. Larger quantities come with a discount per pound. Everything, including produce, is already packaged. Other options include fresh hot tamales, the wall of flame for hot sauce, bags of nuts and lots of candies. Checkin on Yelp for a insulated bag to carry home all of your produce and other treats. I've been wanting to stop at this place for so long. My family and I finally did it. It's right off the freeway. They have a good amount of parking and they have bathrooms. It was cool inside of the building and clean. They have shopping carts for you to use. They have a big variety of everything. We ended up with fresh vegetables, tamales, candy, ice cream and pistachios. The tamales were warm and the smell was amazing. As soon as we got home we ate them. I really like stopping at this produce market on trips between the Bay Area and Sacramento. It is so convenient to exit Interstate 80, and it's right there. So much more than just farm produce, they carry an amazing array of nuts, beans, rice, snacks, candies, hot sauces and many other food items. It is fun to just walk around and look at the offerings. They have some very unique specialty items too, so look around. I usually end up with a box of items to put in the trunk of the car to bring home. Much of the fruit and vegetables come in bulk so you need to expect quantity, but not in everything; and most prices are reasonable too. This time, however, it was a bit unnerving as it was very crowded and it is tight quarters inside. Few people wore masks and no one social distanced, so even though we are supposedly beyond concern due to vaccinations, cases are still on the rise. So word of caution if that's a concern. This is a great place to get fresh produce and it is always a fun diversion from a long drive. read more

Stopped here Sunday on our way home from Tahoe. I bought a pineapple, today I cut it, and it was all brown spots on the inside (today is Thursday). I bought apricots, tried to eat one on Sunday when I got home, it was all mealy and mushy. I cut another open to find mold inside. I bought a bag of zucchini, I used 3 on Tuesday, today I grabbed the rest from the fridge to cook them, all of them had mold. The cherries and corn I bought were delicious. The place was really busy, so I am surprised that freshness is such an issue. Probably won't be returning. Next time we will go to Larry's, I know I can depend on quality there. This is a must stop for every Tahoe or Reno trip. They pork tamales by the register as so good we always get a bag to freeze if they last that long. The best part of this store is all the snacks...I mean you name it they have it from dried healthy veggies to seasoned nuts to dried fruits as well as pantry staples such as oatmeal, cornmeal, beans, etc. the best part is the holiday collection of peppermint and chocolates. It's hard not to eat everything in one go. Also their produce is so fresh and affordable. I always save space to buy groceries both ways. $50 goes a long way here and it's good to support locally grown and made items.
