Stopped by Peet's Coffee during our trip and unfortunately the coffee wasn't really for me. I ordered a milk-based drink, but it tasted almost entirely like warm milk with very little coffee flavor. I was expecting a stronger espresso taste and more balance in the drink. The place itself was fine and the service was okay, but the coffee just didn't stand out. Maybe it works for people who prefer very light coffee, but personally I wanted something richer and bolder. read more

This was honestly my first time at this particular location, I actually used to go to the Starbucks in the plaza, but apparently it's shut down. I love Peet's pastries and I really appreciate they have impossible. Breakfast sandwiches now. I was able to park with ease and walk in as I ordered a maple scone and an impossible breakfast sandwich. I also got a small pumpkin latte with the plant milk. My total was about $20 with tax for all three items, but everything is expensive now so I guess that's not bad?! Service was quick and fast and I think I was there for maybe 10 minutes in total, I was able to get my items and leave rather quickly and I actually really like this corner spot location with indoor and outdoor seating. I always place my orders online before arriving because I deliver and don't have time to wait. I understand this is a busy location on certain days, but today I had to wait 30 minutes, which is far too long. By the time my order was ready, I didn't even want my drink anymore. On top of that, they didn't have honey available. When I waited in line to ask the employee at the front, he told me it was at the condiments counter--but I had already checked, and there was none there. Ordered an iced oatmilk horchata to go for 7:15, didnt get my drink until 7:35 even after checking in with the barista twice. multiple people who ordered after i checked in were served. this was extremely frustrating on top of that the oat milk in my drink overpowered the "horchata" I really didn't even taste the cinnamon. super disappointed now i remember why i never go to Peet's read more

I come to this store everyday. Yesterday I came to buy coffee and I asked the cashier to make sure to tell the barista to make it pretty. I come to Peet's and not Starbucks because in my opinion coffee tastes better and they always make it nice a pretty. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with the barista Katherine. I asked her please make it pretty and she said no with an attitude. I asked her why not? She said "because I DONT FEEL LIKE IT". Also my coffee wasn't good. She never says hello or good morning at least. She is Always with a serious face and bad vibe. I feel very uncomfortable when she is there. I hate when people are not polite or nice. If you work in a customer service environment should treat people with respect and be polite. That's why you are getting pay. Otherwise don't bother to be there. i came here to grab a quick coffee with a friend last week. on a wednesday, a little before noon, it wasn't busy at all, and there were plenty of parking spaces in the homestead shopping center. the gentleman at the register greeted me and let me know that they had a new special that just got added to the menu, it was a chicken and waffles sandwich, perfect for breakfast, lunch or anytime snack! while it looked scrumptious, we were both just wanting something cold to sip on since it was becoming quite a warm summer day. we ordered two of the seasonal iced teas, then sat outside at a table under a large umbrella, enjoying the breeze and each other's company. they had plenty of seating inside the store as well, which was nice to see b/c other peet's locations have a smaller interior with less seating; we were happy to know we had a choice at this location! read more

This location is better to arrive by foot or bike as parking can be a little difficult to find in this part of town. As far as the inside, it is rather spacious and open with quite a bit of seating throughout as this is one of the larger Peet's Coffee locations I have been to. Inside, you will notice quite a few items for sale including mugs, tumblers, merchandise, and a selection of teas and their own ground coffee beans (available for normal coffee makers and Keurig machines). They also have a small outdoor patio area for the more comfortable San Jose mornings and afternoons. Since I ordered via-Peet's mobile app, my drink (a medium sized "Iced Vanilla Latte") was ready at this pick-up area. As predicted, my drink was perfectly made with the right amount of espresso, 2% milk, and vanilla to get me through the afternoon and evening hours. Pete's coffee is always good. Unfortunately, this particular location has terrible customer service. The guy that took my order was very sweet, but the people that were making the coffees weren't paying attention to anything. They don't mark anything so you know, which is which, and they didn't brew the house coffee so I had to wait forever while my sister's coffee got cold. Unbelievable. This Peet's location may not have stayed open at the latest compared to other Peet's location during COVID, but they've been solid when they're open. I've been mobile ordering, and for most part they've always got my matcha latte right. There was one time where something was off (ratio of almond milk to matcha), and they remade it. Then it tasted perfect again. The service has always been nice, which I appreciate. This review is for this location in particular. I came here today (6/11/20@11:35am) with my best friend. Her and I were just about to begin our mobile order when we both witnessed something that led us to never come back. As we were inputting our orders I had looked up from my screen and gazed inside the shop, it was at this moment I/we saw an employee eating a bagel behind the bar. During his munching he was lavishly licking the cream cheese that was stuck to his fingers, he was making sure not to miss any of that cheesy goodness. Then as he was done he did NOT wash his hands. He wipes the remaining saliva on his apron and then goes about his business. 1 that's just flat out disgusting and 2 there's a god damn virus epidemic right now... As we stand there in somewhat shock/disbelief likely with looks of disgust on our faces, he has the balls to walk up to the window and greet us. "Hi, are you 2 waiting to order". Ummm... F**k that! I visited this morning. I received a free cup of drip coffee with my purchase of beans. I'll be honest: coffee was over-extracted, tasteless, watery, gross. I should have driven back and told them. This review is for the one time that I came to a Peet's in this location because I was in the area. The parking in this plaza is a bit wonky and the traffic patterns don't help much either. Peet's has decent coffee and milk and I came here looking for coffee while in a bind. Came in about 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday and there were only 3 people manning the cash register and drinks, one of them being new. Since one guy was in the back room, there was only one person supporting drinks for 3 orders. It probably took me a good 4-5 minutes waiting in line behind one person in order to get my order, which I found to be a bit annoying. Timing difference, but eh, not my best experience at a Peet's. I was really impressed by the Mayan mocha, which I ordered for the first time at this location. I've tried my fair share of mochas, including spiced ones and including those at hipster-friendly roaster shops, and I think Peet's managed to beat them all. There was a really good balance of chocolate flavor, coffee, sweetener, and milk without being overly spicy. I like a good cup of Peet's, but this location to me was so blah that I'd have to give it 3 stars. read more

Coffee was fresh but that attitude was not. Was hardly acknowledged and my husband and I felt treated like pests. They left a ridiculous amount of room for cream in my husbands cup and it felt stingy for the cold brew.. 3/4 full when he asked for a splash of heavy cream. I was already annoyed by that, but then no "thank you" or "have a nice day" nothing, until I said Thank You and the guy said it with his back turned! I don't know what it is but so many places in the Silicon Valley have difficulty with what I used to think is standard friendliness in customer service. I shouldn't be thanking you. I would say that this Peet's, for the most part, does a good job. Whenever I walk in, I'm always greeted by one of the employees and they always tell me to "have a nice day" as I leave. Not only that, but my coffee has always been prepared quickly and there is a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Furthermore, I'm always appreciative when an employee of any business goes the extra mile for me. The other day, I paid for my coffee with cash and I asked if I could be given five $1 bills in place of a single $5 bill. The cashier didn't have enough $1 bills in her till, so she removed some from the tip jar for me. When I thanked her, she said "my pleasure". I wish I could've gotten her name, so I can post it on here and so that, if management sees this review, they can give her a raise or something. I do have two minor complaints though. First off, parking can be a PITA. Secondly, it would be nice if they could place the zarfs/coffee sleeves at the counter where the barista gives you your coffee instead of at the other counter where the trash, lids, cinnamon, etc are. It's a little bit annoying to have to carry a searing hot cup, even if it's for just ten feet, to another counter like that. But, overall, I can't say I'm dissatisfied. I live in the neighborhood and have been here many times. Doug, the manager, is generally nice and supports local charities. Last night was a big disappointment. I was ready with 1 star but upped it because I know they can do better. Her response is that they will lock the doors at 8:10. I can sit outside, but she acknowledges it's cold. I asked why they didn't tell me that they were closing and (ha ha) she says they didn't want to inconvenience me or make me feel pushed out. I then see the manager walk over and tell some other folks that they are closing and they need to leave. To make mattters worse the coffee was so hot it burned my tongue and tasted watered down. I will say she made good warm coconut milk. I asked for a new one that was nearly as hot and barely had any coconut milk in it. Really? What happened to the old vibe? We're closing but feel free to stay? Or even - is it for here or to go and we're closing just in case you wanted to stay. There's a Starbucks across the street. Open til 9. Super friendly staff. Should have gone there but thought we'd enjoy the "better" coffee at Peet's. read more

I'm a HUGE fan of this location - I love Peet's in general but coming to this location during the week before work is a visit I look forward to! I love getting greeting in the early morning by Erin and I LOVE getting my coffee made by Joanne. They are an AWESOME team. They start my crazy work day with a smile and that sense of community and friendship. And I love that Joanne is so consistent in making my coffee. It's the same every time she makes it and it's PERFECT! I do like some of the other workers but a huge shout out to Erin and Joanne... They totally make the start of my crazy work day so nice! Which is why when they aren't there I'm a little sad.. the coffee isn't quite the same - I need to order with "light foam" because I never know how the other person will make it... and I miss the banter with both Erin and Joanne! read more
