I find potatoes and hash browns to be fillers when not extra crispy for texture. Sadly they were filler here but so far they are light handed on the filler so all is right in the burrito. Did well on my request for light cheese as well. Ambiance reminds me of all my favorite cafes and tea shops with the artsy flare, welcoming colors, tons of plants, and some cool jams. Can definitely see them having a local artist showcase or local concert or open mic night. I wouldn't go out of my way for this particular place, but it's pretty nice if I happen to be grabbing brunch around here.

There was a really nasty review on Yelp where a young lady was chastised about her duties and performance at Peet's Coffee. It is not right for somebody to demoralize Peet's employees. I am angry that this occurs. There was a Yelp review that mentioned Rashawn, if this is the manager that I am thinking of, the thin one, who is fairly new with long dark hair and colored eyes, and who has great customer service - that statement was uncalled for and she is a victim of a hate crime that defames Peet's employees. I would like to see this Yelp review taken off our community Peet's Coffee in South San Francisco. I have always been a long standing customer of Peet's Coffee and have been visiting the South San Francisco location ever since I moved to the area several years ago. It is situated in a wonderful spot right next to the freeway which makes it extremely convenient for me and my wife to stop by on our way to and from work. For the most part I have always had a pleasurable experience with the staff there and have always enjoyed my beverages. Sadly I do not know if I can continue to visit this location anymore since the only baristas who seem to be able to CORRECTLY make my are Tori and Anthony. The other day I came in and ordered my drinks and a different barista was there that I have only seen a few times before and she has not left a positive impression on me. The last few times she has made me and my wife's drinks we specifically asked her if she had remembered to use SOY MILK in our beverages. She responded with a snooty YES I DID. However, as we started driving off with our beverages and drinking we noticed that is was clearly not made with soy, so the drink had to be tossed since we are both lactose intolerant. Yesterday was the 5th time this has happened and so I finally asked the cashier for the woman's name and that I would like to speak with a manager. I was appalled to learn that the woman who has been butchering my drinks was a manager!!!!!!! So my advice to you fellow Peet's addicts is this if you have to visit the SSF location avoid the following barista/manager, Rashawn. read more

After reading Joseph's review and then Amy P's review I am feeling sad. My experience at Peet's in South San Francisco has always been very positive. I am a FAN of Peet's, especially in South San Francisco since my family and I only live a few minuets away. I am a local; I went to Ponderosa Elementary School, Westborough Middle School and South San Francisco High School. There are times when lines are long and service can seem slow, but that is the nature of a busy place, such as Peets. They are POPULAR and hip, thus the long lines at peek times - Joseph that is something a person learns in BUSINESS 101 when they are trying to get their AA degree; have you graduated COLLEGE or even attempted to take classes? Moreover, where do you get off on putting someone's name (Rashawn) on YELP - have you heard of defamation of character? You could of talked to that individual personally and if that didn't work talk to his manager, etc. - it's called the chain of command. It's seems you are the one with the snooty attitude. You then, call out 2 other people (Tori and Anthony) by name and praise them. I am also a business owner who graduated with an MBA from a prestigious college so I have a feeling that you are a friend of the 2 you praised. If that is the case, shame on YOU for your behavior and lack of respect for the way Yelp is suppose to be used. Yelp is a respected business and so is Peet's Coffee and your actions are uncalled for. Had a terrible experience here. Waited over 20 minutes for a chai latte. When I asked if they had missed it, I was told they couldn't check because they don't have a screen. She said they go in order. However, I pointed out that the large group of four who came in after me had already received their order, and I had not. She insisted there was nothing she could do. So I went to the cashier and asked for a refund. He couldn't do it, so she comes to help me, I'm assuming she was the manager not just a barista. She starts to log in when they cal my name, so I go get the drink. They made the wrong drink. I asked for a chai latte and they gave me an iced chai latte. Sorry, yea is hot and I never said iced. If their default is iced, it should say that. The drink was insipid. Should've just gotten my cash and left. read more

Staff member RECENTLY tested positive for COVID and they have yet to close this store down (at least for enough time for staff members to shelter in place NOT permanently) . I'm assuming it's because they're not "legally" required to. Clearly do not care about the well being of their staff or their customers !Money is clearly they're only priority. I feel sorry for the people working here who are being but in a position in which not only they're risking their own lives, but the lives of their loved ones as well. Marley scrolls through his order screen and finds me and nonchalantly says "I can make it now". No apologies. No regard for my time. At the same time, more crew members start to trickle in. Although he did say he would make it, he ended up pawning it off to another barista who just started their shift. Finally got my coffee at 7:35. Am I going to stop going to Philz? No. Am I going to hold a grudge against Marley? No. Will I speak up sooner next time? Fcuk yeah. And yes, I'm going to be the "that guy"

Woman running the place today between 1030a-11am made me feel uncomfortable. Maybe I should've just…read morepaid with Apple Pay like I normally do but I had some cash - I got a bagel with cream cheese and a latte and she was really sweet with telling me to take my time because I was trying to decide on something that won't spike my blood sugar- I laid a $10 bill and two $1 bills on the counter while she prepared my latte. While I was organizing something in my backpack I noticed she picked the $10 bill up and flipped it over to look at it, as if it were fake. She continued to push it around and feel it like she had the ick and couldn't decide what to do with it. I glanced to see what she was looking at and the bill had tape over it- I didn't realize it was a ripped bill at one point and had been taped back together, given that I received it as change from a grocery store, I didn't look at it twice. I thought she was done with the whole double triple quadruple checking but as soon as she was done with the latte, she picked up all 3 bills, ran her fingers over the $10 bill again apprehensively for a few more seconds, and then finally processed my transaction. The only thing I can think of in regards to this interaction and observation, is that either 1: she wasn't sure if it was a bill that she can take, and if it would've been rejected by the bank, thus causing $10 loss for the store. But my understanding being in retail and making deposits, as long as the bill is 95% intact, they still take it. Or option 2: she's been scrutinized by management so much that she felt need to spend so much time eyeballing, touching, and feeling this $10 bill, with the hopes that she wouldn't get in trouble for accepting it. Either way, she made me feel as if I was trying to scam her, it still doesn't feel very good for any customer. It would've been a 1 star but I decided to add a second star because the latte and everything bagel I received were good.

I tell her I don't want it and she laughs and says, it's what you ordered. Didn't offer to make a new one - despite being an honest mistake (based on a crappy ordering platform). Paris Baguette is a chain bakery that offer coffees, teas and other drinks in addition to a large selection of bakery items and cakes. For bakery items, go grab a tray and tongs, then head over to the clear plexiglass cabinets and start grabbing all the delicious baked goods that your taste buds desire. I would suggest staring with walking along the cabinets to scout out the items first before grabbing a tray and tongs, otherwise you have the tendency to just keep grabbing items that look good on the first pass and then be up with too much. Their cakes look very appealing and tempting to purchase. We just ate dinner and I was too full to try one of their coffee or tea drinks. Paris Baguette is quickly expanding into many cities, so there may be one popping up near you soon. I would like to try more of their items in the future.
