A couple minutes later the girl that took our order came out and informed us (politely) that they were out of lettuce. So, no Vietnamese Lettuce wraps for us! I had also ordered some soup and egg rolls which weren't ready. We ordered again. Off she went. Husband went to bathroom. No paper towels. Dirty tables around the place. Ours was sticky. One of the cooks came with a plate and said he was sorry there was no lettuce but here's the meat and crunchy noodles. Husband is diabetic. He ate. We then watch 3 other tables get their food. Oh! They did bring the 2 veggie egg rolls. ANYway, we were puzzled as to why we couldn't get our food that was ordered before the other three tables that came in after us GOT THEIR FOOD. Not the best pei wei trip. First of all, this place was FREEZING like so cold. We tried to order the Dan dan noodles and the new lettuce wraps but they were out of the new style lettuce wraps so we got the original. They tasted good but I found hair in my Dan Dan noodles which was a little gross. They made me a new order which was nice but I am a little grossed out to return right now. I got the Vietnamese salad, which said it had grilled meat, greens, rice noodles, pickled carrots and a vinegar sauce. I picked that because it sounded similar to bun bo xao. Nope! Greens= ice burg lettuce, grilled meat = fried chicken, rice noodles = hard crusty noodles, pickled carrots = regular salad style carrots, vinegar sauce = chili oil. I rarely give 1 stars but i am sorry the quality of the meat/cooking was horrible. They should not allow food like this out the door. This Pei Wei is a hit or miss at times, meaning you get what your ordered correct half the time ( again my experience). I have been coming her for a while and have met different employees. I come back a month or two later and it changes. The food can either be cooked well or over cooked, definitely needs some work. Fatty beef, age-old edamame, high-fructose-corn-syrup sauces. Boring and ordinary. Fast food without a drive-through window. So, that's fine, if that's what you're looking for. Just don't make a special trip here (or to any other of this chain's billion locations). If you're in the area and looking for a quick bite, there are plenty of better options -- after all, Addison is only 4.4 square miles and has almost 200 restaurants. I ordered the only item I get at Pei Wei, their Honey Seared Chicken. The chicken itself wasn't too bad, kind of average as usual but the fried rice it came with just wasn't what I expected. It didn't taste anything like what I know to be fried rice but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. The cashier had ZERO personality, mumbled so badly, I could not understand her, and was incompetent, untrained, unmotivated and was basically very bad at her job! She brought out my friend's entree by itself, before the egg rolls and wonton we had ordered. Had to ask for my wine which came with a beer glass. The crab wonton were tasteless (except for the greasy dough flavor!) Seriously, not even a hint of crab! The sauce packets are IMPOSSIBLE to open. Asked for scissors or sauce in a small dish, and the confusion my simple request caused was unbelievable! Think the cooks could not understand my request! NO sweet and sour sauce was even available! The pad Thai was AWFUL! Really bad! Mushy, mushy noodles, bland chicken, almost NO sauce, NO vegetables, NONE! I've had better pad Thai from the frozen food section of the grocery store! Ordered online, and walked in to madness and mayhem! Dining in was an hour wait for food!! I thought, thank God I ordered online...NOT! The line was not too long and most importantly, there were happy customers. I placed my order, place my order number on the table and dashed to the men's room to wash my hands. When I got back, I had a plate of sushi on my table (I don't do sushi) I tell the waitress, "this isn't my order, "what is you number?", I tell her, and she says, "well that's your order." Now I'm confused -"let me get my receipt", she responds, "yea, get your receipt" Clearly it was not my order, just like I told her, and THEN she confirms "oh this ISN'T your order.... My "real" order comes: an appetizer, pork egg roll, which is delicious, up until the middle, which was ice cold. I take it back to the waitress and she apologizes. Shortly thereafter she brings me my main course. Right before I dig in she tells me she "wait thats not the right order.", "it looks right", I say - at this point I'm certainly not taking her word for it lol! We stopped her for lunch after a long day of travel. They have ordering through an app which we did, but had some trouble. I spoke with Shawn, and she was incredibly helpful at how to order a customized kids meal for my children. She was also very thoughtful and brought fortune cookies for my hungry kids to keep them happy until our food arrived. The food arrived quickly and everything was exactly as we ordered it. I can't thank Shawn enough for her top-notch customer service. I noticed she was moving quickly along the restaurant, greeting guests, taking orders, organizing to-go orders and even saying a thank you as people walked out the door. The Addison location seems to be well managed. I also look for restaurant cleanliness and I appreciate the effort here to keep it clean. The food of course is Americanized asian food but not bad. The price is good, it's filling and it's fresh. A couple of issues I found were that sometimes the dish is saturated with the chiili sauce and I had to blot most of it off at home after picking up the food. The other issue was that every noodle dish I tried was way over cooked so I just order soemthing else now and I've been happy with other choices. The pork eggs rolls are good as well as the dumplings. The shrimp dish is what I stopped ordering because the heat level varied so much from time to time t hat I couldn't handle it and it was saturated with the chilli sauce. It's kind of odd because the firecracker chicken is not hot at all and would be expected to be from the name. -:) The side salad here is one of the best I ever had. I'm still a regular here and like any restaurant some things they do well and some not so well. I just choose what works and keep going here becasue of convenience and price. read more

But today's lunch visit was the best experience we've had since we've been coming here to this location. The line was long and once the order was in, we waited for a crazy amount of time for the food to arrive (more than 30 minutes). We finally gave up and asked for a refund. A few days later, a similar thing happened to our office manager, so I think there are some major personnel issues that need to be worked out. I arrived and my order was nowhere to be found. While I was standing there I received an email - time-stamped at the current time - saying there was a problem with my form of payment. I asked the lady - who I believe is the current Manager - what was going on. She mumbled something indecipherable. I asked again. The answer - oh, these things sometime happen. I said not to me it doesn't. She asked me to repeat the order I had placed. I gave up and paid with another card so I wouldn't be double charged. Visited this location on 2\4\21, the store is dirty, extremely poor maintenance, faucet handles in the restroom fall off the faucet into the sink, there is standing water in mens in restroom. A variety if different light bulbs in the light fixtures. Ordered beef and broccoli with light sauce and the meal came out drenched in sauce. Ate 1\2 the meal, four hours later started feeling nauseated, spent the rest of the night regretting ever eating there everytime I had return to restroom. read more

I work near here and I have been a steady customer of this place's take out for 5+ years. The quality has steadily deteriorated over the last couple of years and crowds have disappeared. But hey, for convenience and basic necessity we went on Wed. night, 11/7/18. We got two take out orders of two Vietnamese Spring rolls (unfried w/veg and chicken) and two Pad Thai. The entree's were hot and had a good amount of chicken noodles and tofu, etc. They were decent and basically edible. Spring rolls had tough skins, were limp, mushy, full of water, veggies long ago wilted, chicken was wet and disintegrating. I would testify in court they were prepped days before, frozen for use and thawed for sale. There was nothing fresh, crisp or pleasant at all in them. Each contained about a tablespoon of some type of liquid inside. An order of 2 was $4.25. They should have sold for a quarter each. All this was not worth the $30.00 we spent. I won't try again. You know going in it's not fine dining, but the disappointment is that the quality is so poor even for a medium price. Maybe other locations are better. Keep looking. read more

Pei Wei is essentially the fast food version of PF Changs. For all intents and purposes, they're comparable with Panda Express, though they try to act like they're much fancier. Pei Wei does have a much more upscale setup and decor, but little difference on the food quality. I would actually say that Panda Express has better flavor profiles and quality to their food (and probably more MSG, sodium, and preservatives as well). Stay away from the basil chicken entree and most of the 'sushi' dishes. They spell crab with a 'k' for a reason on their menu. No way it's real seafood in there. Don't expect to come here and have a fancy, authentic Asian meal. But for what it is, its not that bad. read more

I ordered a dish here the other day and asked the cashier if it was vegetarian if I ordered it with tofu; I was told it was. She double checked with a lady, who seemed to be a manager, who also assured me it was vegetarian. Whilst I was waiting for my food, I looked up the menu item on the Pei Wei website which said the sauce was not vegetarian. I went back to the counter and the front of house employees asked the kitchen employees who then told me the sauce had shellfish in it! Employees should be aware of their food's ingredients, especially such a widespread and harmful allergen as shellfish. I asked if they could give me the same meal, just with a different sauce, and they just brought out a completely different meal than what I ordered.
