Stopped in for dinner after an afternoon of shopping. My husband and I both ordered the orange chicken and added vegetables. When we received our food, there were no vegetables. We informed the runner and she said she couldn't take our food back to the kitchen but could ask for two sides of veggies. Ten minutes later, our food was cold and no veggies had arrived. I walked back up to the runner and asked about our veggies. She shrugged and said she'd asked for them but the kitchen seemed confused about what she was asking for. As we were talking, another staff member arrived to assume runner job - I'm guessing she was filling in maybe while he was on break because she then went back to the registers. I asked if they could please just remake our food since the dishes she had delivered were now cold. The new guy jumped right on it and got us our new food pretty quickly. I don't think the second round was the quality we would have gotten if they had made our order correctly the first time - the first order seemed to have been made better and more carefully - but at that point my husband and I were totally frustrated and just wanted our $30 worth of food. We are new to ABQ and have eaten at Pei Wei where we lived before and both the service and food were excellent. We were really disappointed and I don't think this experience is what Pei Wei stands for. We won't be coming back anytime soon. What a waste of time, food and money! Skip this store for a local mom and pop Chinese restaurant with great reviews on yelp where you will get much better service and more bang for your buck. read more

I don't know how usually service is because I've been here one time but because my first time impression is bad I'm giving 2 stars only. I got take out order and they got order wrong and the food was so salty I couldn't taste actual flavor. Also, kind of overpriced for amount and quality you get. Really great kung pow and simple, but tasty sushi. I prefer to order my dish with noodles instead of rice. Some dishes, like the teriyaki bowl, is a bit dry, but they are happy to give extra sauce on the side. Cool atmosphere with plenty of seating, but not great for big parties of 8+ people. read more

We had DoorDash deliver dinner tonight from Pei Wei, and we're very pleased! We ordered Pad Thai, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and egg rolls. Everything arrived very warm. 11:15 am on a Sunday, there are people inside, but the store is closed. No posted hours. Had to look online to see that should be open at 10:45am every day. Wouldn't have tried again after the last couple of mediocre trips, but the family still wanted it. Terrible service. We used to love going , but lately the service has been terrible. Wait time for foods have been 30-40 minutes on nights that aren't busy. The staff is rude, and does not seem to have the ability to communicate with customers without being rude. The quality of food is not very consistent either, while some days the food is great. We can't give ZEROS, so I have officially joined the 1-star "Pei Wei Review" club. It seems to have tons of members. This was my 3rd encounter with this specific restaurant. Despite the substandard service, poor attitude and inedible food, I never wrote a review, until now. Once again, the service absolutely stunk. Rude, ignorant order taker compiled on top of a useless online ordering system totally ruined an impromptu family gathering. We started an 8 person delivery order at 7pm...30 minutes before they take their last order. After being told they would deliver our food, the PeiWei online system refused to put the order through. So I tried putting it through for pick-up. After the order page crashed the order 3 times, I finally gave up and called the restaurant at 7:25pm-5 minutes to spare. I was put on hold and left there. Twice someone picked up the phone and put me back on hold. By the time they answered the phone it was 7:33pm- 3 minutes past their order taking cutoff. I suspect the lazy staff did not feel like working anymore that evening and procrastinated just long enough to legitimately not have to take the order. I tried to explain the situation to the person on the phone that it was their "system" or lack-there-of that created the delay, but he couldn't have cared less. I explained that I had a $180 order and it would be would his time and energy to take the order (we are very good tippers-25%+ usually). He couldn't have cared less. It really made me angry that we did everything humanly possible to get that order in by 7:30pm. But PeiWei's broken system prevented it. The customer should never be penalized for the restaurant staff substandard attitude, service, product, and management system. But I guess that is their #1 policy-meet their own needs first and forget the customer. I guess they get paid whether they take our orders or not. They have lost a good customer for life and I will do my best to publicize this restaurant's consistently substandard service and attitude. I hope the whole ordeal was worth it to the guy who answered the phone this evening, because he ruined our family party. read more

Too bad you can't give negative stars. My children and I used to love ordering the Children's Chicken Lo Mein, as it wasn't spicy and so it didn't bother my son's H. Pylori, as well as being soft enough so I could eat it due to serious jaw problems. My daughter placed our normal order using the online experience....it was horrible. She had to wait 15 minutes after she arrived for the food when she was told it was done and it wasn't. Upon bringing the order home, we discovered: 1. The 3 drinks that are included in the kids meals were not placed in the order - 2. One order had no chicken but veggies only (in fact it was 90% veggies and no noodles) - 3. The other two orders had three pieces of chicken in one and four pieces in the other, and approx three bites of noodles - 4. It was so spicy that it couldn't be eaten, in fact my daughter had an upset stomach and heartburn so bad all night she was in tears and I stayed up all night throwing up. Right after we received our orders and checked them and literally took one bite, I called to speak with a manager and got the supervisor on duty who did nothing to rectify the orders and make the food edible and was so incredibly rude. To the point I will never order from Pei Wi again. read more

The portions seem to have gotten smaller and the price goes up. I had a coupon for 33% off but the system wasn't working so the order taker gave me $2.25 off of a $50 meat, not quite the same. I asked about it and she said I received the discount. Not true when I saw my receipt. Lately when I visit I see no leadership just a bunch of young employees wandering around. Not good. Ordered online and got a ready time of 8. Got there at 8 and waited 15 minutes to get told they were out of the sushi we ordered but wanted to know of we wanted what they had left. Really, here have the sushi we have left. Ordered the Pad Thai with steak and shrimp, would have better off stopping at Sams club and getting a frozen dinner, the steak reminded me of steakums and the shrimp was rubber and had zero taste which was better than the way everything else tasted but with all the grease it was hard to tell how anything tasted. It is wrong to call that dish Pad Thai, it should be Bad Thai. The fortune cookie was OK. read more

I really like the food here but my reason for a 3 star rating is mostly on the quality of food. My husband and I had take out here about a month ago, order process went smooth, food came out just as we asked, and tasted delicious until I found rubber band in my meal, not just a regular rubberband but one you would find on braces. Then my hubby found some egg shells in his fried rice. I can see to mess up one dish but both dishes had something in it that shouldn't have been there. I did call management to report that they need to watch their food prep better and he did give me a full refund. That was good on their part but it still doesn't make my experience any better. I will probably go back to eat here since I love the food, but i'll have to inspect my food more closely next time. read more

If you allow an online order to be set for an hour after placing it, then it should be ready when your customer arrives. If you are running behind, then adjust the options for the time the order CAN be picked up. Food is very good, but the restrooms are dirty and the outside seating looks like it has never been cleaned since it opened. It's disgusting! Went back today after some time away. The place has been cleaned up--even the patio area! The food has always been very good and still is. It's a shame that managers can't see the problems before the public has to tell them! Spring 2017: Now they won't allow our small dog in her carriage to sit with us on their still very dirty patio! That's enough--we're through! We got our money back and we'll never return there. Well, this was my third time here in a year and a 1/2. Always good smells when I am next door, so I go in again and I tell the gal this is my third time and I haven't really found my dish yet. I ordered Caramelized Chicken, no cilantro. It was OK over all, a bit salty and had cilantro in it! (I really do not like this spice) and I picked it out. The rice was under cooked and crunchy. I mentioned this to the person who took my ticket mind you there is no table service here although they have a full kitchen with 5 cooks at my visit, and they are not accommodating. Had the Gluten Free sweet and sour chicken.. Awesome! It's coated with potato starch so it's crunchy without the wheat! House made sauce had only 3 ingredients too. I love Pei Wei and am so disappointed in this location. I ordered my fave, Pei Wei spicy chicken with brown rice, sat down and then was told they had no brown rice so I settled for fried rice. The food came and I noticed a small piece of plastic in my food. I thought well, someone made a mistake while chopping, no biggie. Then, I was almost finished with my meal and I bit into something super hard so I stopped chewing and pulled out a piece of green glass the size of a pencil eraser! I asked for the manager and Mike came out to speak with me. I tried to be courteous and keep my voice down so all the other customers would not hear what I had found in my food. He couldn't believe it, he said he was speechless. Mike came over to the table where my friend and I were eating, and looked at the glass. He said he was sorry but didn't know how this could have happened since there was no glass like this in the whole restaurant, implying that I had put it in my food! He apologized once again and walked off. He made no effort to rectify the situation. I am very disappointed and disgusted with this customer service. My tooth is still hurting from biting into the glass. I will never eat here again! read more

They have a super complicated (for me anyway) allergen sheet that won't work for vegetarians, so there's really no transparency into what the sauces are made of (is this another place that considers fish sauce to be vegetarian?). read more

Definitely a great spot to get a quick and decently prepared meal that you won't go bankrupt on. Portions are large, but quality can be hit or miss. The hits are out of this world in terms of flavor, texture, and sticking to the dishes authenticity, while the misses have sometimes had me sending the dish back, but I was accommodated with an adequate replacement every time.
