I have been a customer for many years. This last experience from this past Thursday and today is Saturday I have to share. I ordered the new Firecracker Shrimp with fried rice. I paid extra money for that fried rice too. I ate it on Thursday, I woke up Friday morning with diarrhea. Friday night I was nauseated & I ended up throwing up fried rice. This was my first time trying the shrimp. I also had a chicken egg roll that I was very disappointed after tasting. I am understanding why restaurants are closing. HAIR IN FOOD!! Today I went inside where not a single employee was in sight or came to greet me after waiting several minutes. I then went to my car to call the store, where a girl, Kellie, answered and confirmed they were open, and when I asked why the storefront was empty, she said."we have better things to do than wait around". I got my take out, tipped and left paying cash. I found two long hairs in my food once home. When I went in person to collect my refund, she did not give me my full money back so I reminded her that I left my change and did in fact want all of it back. She dropped a pile of coins in my hand (still the incorrect amount) and had nothing to say about the hair in my food and no apology for any of these inconveniences. We've been going to this location for years. Since the pandemic, we've been ordering to go and curbside and no issues. Saturday night I placed an order at 7:42pm, it was scheduled to be ready by 7:54. I worked as a server for 5 years, I know about late orders. You tell the customer the kitchen is closed if the customer shows up once the kitchen is being cleaned. But this didn't happen. My order went through and I got the email confirmation that it was being made. My wife drove to pick up our order. When we walked in, the front door was open, but all the staff were gone except for one employee. When we told her we had placed an order, she went to the ticket printer, tore off our ticket (it had been 15 min after placing our order) she ripped up the ticket, told my wife the kitchen staff had left. And then she said that we would get a refund and that we could order food the next day. About an hour later I got an email from the general manager that our order was refunded because another customer took our food. I replied that the food had not been taken but rather that their staff left early. I get it, if it's a slow night, left the staff go. But shut down your online ordering ability and if you have an employee staying, train them to contact the customer to let them know you can't make their order before they're standing in your restaurant. I've emailed corporate with no response. They just lost a long time customer. read more

I love this place. It's a cheaper version of some of P. F Chang's menu items. It does taste slightly different but not too much. Price is average and you get really good portions. They have soft drinks, beer and tea. They offer slices of lime and oranges to add to your drink if you like it. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. Every time I come here it is dirtier and less organized. Every time I arrive it takes a long time for someone to acknowledge my presence. The teens "running the place" have no clue about customer service. The tables are sticky, the bathrooms make me want to wait until I get home. It has been 20 minutes and our meal is still not here. A party of 6 just left saying it would be an hour wait. What is going on??? I was just about to post this, and a gentleman came up to me and said that the manager told him they had a to go order that came before everybody else who had ordered and sat down in the dining room... That it would be approximately an hour before we could get our orders. I approached the manager and asked for a refund, received it with no apology... With attitude. Today was my first and last time going to Pei Wei. I came in through the side door and three other people came behind me. I looked through the menu while the woman was helping two other customers. When it was time to help me, she told me to go to the back of the line. I was confused at first as to why I was being told to go back to the end of the line and she repeated herself. I didn't answer her because frankly I was taken aback and surprised. She then asked me if I came in through the door in front of the register or if I came in the side door. I told her the side door. Since the line was forming on the side door this would mean I was ahead of the line. If she didn't see where I came in, why did she assume I cut in front of the people behind me. Also, why didn't she ask to begin with. When I ordered my food, she didn't listen and proceeded to keep asking me to repeat myself. I'm not sure what she didn't understand since she obviously didn't have an issue with the two customers in front of me. She asked me to repeat myself three times on 3 different types of food as if I had an accent. These little incidents, I've noticed, are more prevalent since I've moved to the south. Growing in CA I found it surprising that these mini aggressions still happen to this day and age. It would not be an issue except for the fact that I'm a woman of color and these types of situations seem to happen all the time since I've moved to TN. The food was barely palatable. The egg rolls were extremely greasy. When I put three napkins to squeeze out the oil, they were sopping wet. The crab rangoon was mediocre, barely had any flavor and was also greasy. They forgot to serve the dressing with the salad I ordered. This was a terrible experience and I'm glad it happened because now I know that I don't ever have to go to this establishment ever again. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews...I really do. But when my experience somewhere is horrible 4/5 times, I make an exception. They have never gotten my to-go order right...ever. They were a soggy greasy mess. I tried to sop up most of the grease before I took a picture, and they still look greasy and disgusting. It's probably important to note that the 3 "edible" pieces were barely edible. Grease drained into your mouth with each bite. But at least they were semi-crispy so you could actually pick them up (hence "edible"). So let's add another 16 bucks worth of food that I didn't get or couldn't eat. I would not suggest going to this establishment. Their workers don't care, which suggest that neither does management.
