My wife ordered the Driller. 3 eggs, sausage patties, bacon, home fries, toast and coffee. She really liked her breakfast. The bacon was thick and the sausage patties were thick and juicy. The sausage patty was mild and not overpowering as at other restaurants. She was nice enough to share a sausage patty and i agree with her assessment. The toast was thick and she liked the coffee. I had Eggs Benedict on a bed of bacon and avocado. The Hollandaise sauce was not overwhelming and it was all sooo scrumptious. The restaurant has a simple but clean look at its decor. We met the 2 co-owners, Jeep and Nu who are from Thailand and both of their husbands are serving in US Navy. We had a young waitress who really was trying hard and successful at her duties. It was a busy holiday weekend but we didn't have to wait for a table or too long for our food. Shortly after being seated it was a full house. We were greeted promptly by our server, Maddie. She was a sweet, friendly & attentive college student. Don't let tattoos fool you, this woman is incredibly smart. Other servers checked on us throughout our visit too. I got the Daily & subbed oatmeal for my side. My meal was hot, delicious & fresh. I saved the oatmeal for last & it didn't get cold. I was able to have a piece of fruit with every bite. Our table was promptly cleared as each of us finished by a very sweet lady who has been working here a long time. I actually live in Denver but get to come here occasionally when I visit my sister. A few of the servers may have tattoos but so do I & I felt right at home here. Much better than some big chain breakfast spot! Prices were super reasonable too especially for the portion sizes. WINNER! This was one of the best places that we dined at while we were in Houston and we paid double what we paid here more than once or twice. The menu is very eclectic and the cook pays attention to what comes out of the kitchen. Everything we ordered was superb and we will now go back to this restaurant every time we are in Houston. The eating area is a little cramped and the tables are a little 50's-ish but that's part of the charm as far as I am concerned. Found this place, after wanting a little small business breakfast spot. Found Pelican in a strip center in Seabrook. Spacious inside and the staff is good and on point. My wife ordered the Aunt Bebop's and the french toast was awesome and tasted so good and her eggs and meat looked fresh and good. I had the western omelette and it was a big omelette and plenty of food there. Hash browns are more crispy and I like that and the toast is huge. Plenty of options and so much to try here and will be back to try more. Great job!!! read more

Have visited this place once before under other ownership shortly after Food Network Restaurant Impossible with Robert Irvine did a complete makeover of this restaurant. Needless to say a lot of the changes that Robert Irvine made have been undone. Visited during lunch time not much of a crowd but the menu was very good. The owner was sitting right next to my table eating and speaking rather loudly with the people at his table rather than seeing to his guests and the overall operation of the restaurant. Probably why this place has gone downhill since they've changed owners and since Restaurant Impossible have been there. Looks like Robert Irvine might need to come back. read more

Loved it here !! Absolutely postive and warm environment. Everyone is super friendly and greeted us with a smile right when we stepped in. We came to see Maddie, know her from a previous job. Such a quaint little restaurant, can't believe this was our first visit. This eatery is small and cozy but still spacious once inside. The staff were friendly even though they were clearly busy. We had the strawberry muffin with our coffee. The coffee is bold but smooth and they offer flavored creamer. The strawberry muffin was delicious! It was cold, which we thought was unusual but once we got to the filling it made sense. I definitely recommend them and can't wait to try their blueberry one. I ordered the Aunt Bebop's favorite which is basically french toast with eggs & choice of meat. I opted for the bacon because, bacon duh. My eggs were perfectly cooked, the sourdough french toast was thick and the bacon was crispy. My wife ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and even though her eggs were slightly overcooked, the crab cake made up for it. It was packed with flavor and she was a fan of their hollandaise sauce. It looks nice but used a processed kraft style slice of cheese out if the plastic wrap. Onion rings ok. I got a Rueben sandwich and it wasn't good. The meat sliced into only two slices of pastrami. With a tiny amount of saurkraut. Didn't enjoy it. The salad dressing was store bought and wasn't good Italian. I couldn't eat it. The sandwich was 12.00. Pricey with little meat. What a great little find in the Seabrook area! We moved nearby and after grocery shopping decided to give this place a try. I'm so glad we did - the food and service were fantastic! My husband loved the Corned Beef Hash and I devoured the veggie omelette with their delicious hashbrowns. Paired both with sourdough bread and tart orange juice and we both loved our breakfasts. We dropped into this cute mini-diner and were not disappointed. service was prompt. the food was SO GOOD. i had the crab cake benedict, it was a thin, homemade crab cake atop a buttered english muffin, topped with a perfectly cooked egg and hollandaise....x2! i subbed fruit instead of potatoes for a slight up-charge, and i was so impressed by the presentation and selection of the fruit. often times "fruit" is some way too hard flavorless honeydew, a few mushy grapes and a token berry or two. not at Pelican Grill, it was a work of art! sliced pineapple, cantaloupe, watermelon, bananas, and berries, all at peak ripeness. my partner had the chicken fried steak breakfast platter. he is a CFS connoisseur, and he said "we should come here more often", so i know it was good. The food here was delicious!! I went on a busy Saturday with my family and even then the wait time was maybe less than 30 minutes and service was pretty reasonable given how busy they were. I got the french toast with fruit, which was good but the bread they use is a little dry so needed a lot of syrup. the hashbrowns are the best i've had, I should've ordered 2 plates of those they're so good. the hubby got waffle plate with scrambled eggs and sausage. he said the waffle was sweet and fluffy and a big portion. the sausage was a little spicy but he liked it. the eggs weren't dry. overall very happy and full. Yay...This is my first Restaurant Impossible restaurant. I happened to be working in the Houston area and decided to give Pelican Grill a shot after seeing them on Restaurant Impossible. I have to say that the staff is incredibly friendly, almost over the top. I came here for lunch, so they weren't to busy. Our waiter suggested the burgers...good choice. I got the Blue Cheese burger...very yummy and cooked just right. I also decided to go with the onion rings. While the flavor was good, they were not very hot.. I know I'm brutally honest, but I enjoy giving my opinion, but always keeping it honest. We stopped in for breakfast as I have a personal goal to try out every breakfast spot on my side of Houston. Let me start by saying that this place is not much to look at, but the breakfast was so darn good and cheap. I ordered the western omelette and to my surprise the fluffy omelette was stuffed with real ham, tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. I also ordered a pancake which was so fluffy that it tasted like a cloud. These two items will make me return...for takeout. Let's move on to the dining area. It could use some updating, but I understand that is under new ownership. I will assume that they will invest in renovations after they get stable and recoup a portion of their start up costs. We walked in at seated ourselves. We tried to find the cleanest table, but that was a challenge. The tables were clear, but I think they forgot to wipe them down after the breakfast rush. I also questioned the staff members eating at the takeout counter. It's not a good look for a business that's trying to do well. What happened to having a seat somewhere and eating your food in peace? The owner is nice and friendly, but he has the loudest laugh I've ever encountered. Great spot for a quick, casual brunch. I had the smoked salmon Benedict breakfast and it was both cooked and plated wonderfully. I felt the smokiness of the salmon worked nicely with the sweetness of the cornbread, while the creaminess of the hollandaise sauce finished it off with the perfect, last bite. Instead of the usual hash browns, I opted for fruit. I was so pleased to find that the fruit tasted so distinctly fresh, and not of any pre-mixed "fruit in a bag" that has a certain meddled taste.
