What a beautiful hotel near Fashion Island. Love Pendry Hotels and this one is fabulous! Valet when we arrived and all very nice. Walked in the spacious lobby and checked in easily enough. Grabbed a quick drink from the lobby bar and brought it up to our room. Back to the lobby, ton of seating areas and very rich decor. The lobby bar is down the hall and also has plenty of seating. Great bartenders. Came back that night and it was super busy but great drinks and people watching for sure!!! We reserved a suite and it was very spacious, super nice and the robes so comfy!! Love that there was a separate living room that had a super cushy couch. Tv in both rooms. They have a mini bar that charges automatically when you move items so be aware! Nice little patio. Super comfy bed, very clean, great water pressure in the shower! Headed down to the Elwood Club before dinner. We were with a group but I think you need a reservation or ticket to get in. It's very nice, like a country club lounge. It has a golf simulator too! There's a fireplace and there was a singer when we were there. Lovely dark wood bookshelves decor. Cocktails and bartender was amazing!!! Loved our stay!!!

I really enjoy coming to the Pendry Hotel in Newport Beach, California and consider it a really great hang. I've always had good experiences here and I love the vibes. The bar is really lively even on a Monday night. They have a members only club called the Elwood Club. Expensive but worth it!

This is a luxury hotel by Fashion Island and in close proximity to the beach as well. I stayed here with my husband for our anniversary. From the moment we got there, the service was amazing. Check in was smooth. The lobby had a nice ambiance. Next to the lobby is a bar and a restaurant which we were able to enjoy a nice dinner. We got a room with the garden view. It was spacious and clean. Overall, we had a great experience.

In general I expect California hotels (and hotels in Newport/Dana) to be pricey but for the price I pay I expect the absolute best. And you get an ok experience. The Pendry considers itself a 5 star hotel and while it is nice in terms of decor and rooms are pretty spacious and clean I've seen and stayed at much better value hotels. The bathroom actually looks dated and oddly paired with the room set up (like a mismatched Vegas hotel suite). Beds were uncomfortable, way too firm. I couldn't sleep, woke up in the middle of the night and was up til morning. I also found the staff to be inconsistent in friendliness. Most were nice but one desk person just seem like she hated life and her job and just was not pleasant to interact with. I noticed a $15 charge to use the porter to store luggage which is insane. This should be a service provided by the hotel. For a discounted rate... I paid $450 for 1 night all in! Also. Valet overnight is $70! You can't park at office lots nearby but there is one lot that has a daily maximum of $20. You are paying for the name and brand but frankly come here for the bar and people scene... maybe.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and excellent service. Took the family overnight this past weekend. We had a nice 2 Queen room with partial ocean view and balcony. When we walked in, we were greeted by staff immediately. Our room was clean and smelled great. The hotel had a cool members club I got to tour. I was told I could get a day pass. The heated pool was great. Towels and comfortable loungers and full service bar and grill. We had dinner at Set steak and sushi and got the steak set. Totally worth the $175. You get to choose your knife!! Our EV got charged up while we enjoyed. The bed and pillows were really comfortable as well.

I am a big fan of Pendry Newport Beach! What a well-appointed hotel in a great location. My husband and I came to California for a mix of business and pleasure. What did I like the most? The room! I loved the natural light and its spaciousness. Complimentary bottled waters are provided with housekeeping. Dark chocolate with sea salt are left bedside with turndown service. We walked the grounds at night and found a complimentary movie night for guests. They set up a big screen by the pool and played a Halloween movie. Nice touch, but we skipped as we had seen the movie before. We asked for a late check out and were given an extra hour without hassle. Valet was friendly and fast. Pendry is across the street from Fashion Island Mall. It's a very easy walk.

I love booking a place you've never been to and then absolutely loving it and not wanting to leave. That's how I felt about the Pendry. This hotel was nothing short of wonderful. The property is beautiful, friendly staff, outstanding service and great meals!! Our view was lovely from day to night. Morning had a beautiful sunrise with the coastal fog that cleared by lunch and evening city lights views were just as stunning. And each morning seeing Fashion Island made it a must to go and check it out. I mean, who says no to LETS GO SHOPPING? The room was clean and spacious. Love the options for lighting. Made it easy to wind down after a busy day. Enjoyed some fresh air standing on the small balcony and their bathroom products had the best scents. It felt like the room was soundproof. I'm a light sleeper and couldn't tell if we had neighbors. We had breakfast each morning at SET. The menu had a lot to offer and was never disappointed with any selection. Attentive and sincere service. feel like there's more to explore and visit in Newport- and when we do come back, I would absolutely stay here again.

This is a beautiful luxury hotel with great service. We had a corner suite with separate balconies overlooking the ocean, which was wonderful. It's a little bit of a scene in there at the brunch and in the evening at the bar, kind of like Vegas-style scene with lots of short skirts, boob jobs etc. and constant selfies in front of the mirror in the lobby and around the pool area) but otherwise we had a wonderful time at this hotel and would stay again. The food and service at the restaurant and pool area was excellent.

Came here for a luncheon today. Valet is not really valet for the event, but more like self parking. Lunch was delicious though. Chicken with salad and olive bread was tasty. Restroom is clean. From the outside, it doesn't feel like a 5-star hotel, but I did not stay in the rooms so can't speak to that. Ballroom was fine! The hotel feels less fancy than Pelican Hill.

If Newport Beach had a guest house for its most photogenic residents, it would be the Pendry Newport Beach. The location is borderline unfair--steps from some of the best shopping and a short stroll to more excellent restaurants than your waistband would prefer. You can park the car, forget about it entirely, and feel smug about your life choices. Now for the secret (keep your voice down): there's a speakeasy hidden behind a door tucked behind the reception desk. Yes--behind it. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like you've unlocked a side quest. Inside, the bar doubles as a live nature documentary of the Newport Beach "who's who," migrating directly from their nearby plastic surgeon appointments to a full-on look-at-me cocktail scene. The bartenders are true mixologists--fresh juices, creative combinations, and drinks that taste healthy enough to justify ordering a second. Do yourself a favor and eat at the SET restaurant--outside. Massive trees form a natural canopy overhead, strung with globe lights that somehow float above you like classy fireflies. It's romantic, magical, and just pretentious enough to remind you that you're in Newport. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully updated, many with views of Catalina Island--and, for those who enjoy a touch of economic irony, the now-bankrupt Neiman Marcus. A reminder that even luxury needs a punchline. Bottom line: stylish, fun, perfectly located, and unapologetically Newport. Come for the location, stay for the cocktails, and leave wondering if you should schedule a cosmetic consultation just to blend in.

My parents and I stayed here for a little over a month and finally checked out today 12/16/25. For the minority it was a pleasant one The Highs: Jayden at the front desk was absolutely phenomenal. So kind, professional, helpful and a wonderful human being. Devon is a superstar. He was always bringing us up three large buckets of ice at night. Could not have been more personable, sweet, generous and a complete gentleman who is a great asset to your company. Sandy in housekeeping was always doing so much for our room making sure it looked perfect, was clean and that we always had the bed made and towels in the bathroom. Matt the bellhop was absolutely amazing today helping us load up all our belongings in our room and into our car. The men and lady at the vallet were always on top of their game by bringing our car, leaving it up front if we were not going to be that long. However there were a few down sides like the bar in the lobby. It was always so busy by people who weren't even staying there. The two female bartenders were completely rude, did not acknowledge us or another person at a table. They were too busy chatting away and did not give us the time of day. This is so disheartening because we tip. We are not fussy and they treated us as if we didn't belong or were invisible. I hope that The Pendry acknowledges the people who made our stay enjoyable and to have a serious discussion with the female bartenders who made us want to leave and not return. If it weren't for the great hospitality of those above we would have left sooner.

It's breathtaking! From the courteous valet to the wonderful front reception and beyond, you will be showered with exceptional service, as if you are a VIP. The place is immaculate and designed beautifully. The room service was reasonably priced and fabulous! Loved the spacious room with balcony views of Newport and the Back Bay. I absolutely recommend this place to stay or hold events.

I finally made it to SET at the Pendry for brunch, and it did not disappoint! I had been looking forward to trying their vegan scramble, and it was amazing. The vegan eggs came with herbed potatoes, garlic sofrito, and warm flour tortillas; everything was flavorful and so satisfying. Since it was a girls' brunch, we especially loved the vibe with a female DJ setting the mood. Everyone ordered drinks, and I really appreciated that the menu included mocktails alongside cocktails, such a nice touch. We sat outside where there's plenty of seating, although it did get pretty busy as the day went on. The photo booth was also a fun surprise and definitely added to the experience. After brunch, we strolled past the pool area. It's on the smaller side but has a really cute setup and felt more family-oriented. Parking-wise, I got dropped off at the front, which was a little congested. My friends valet parked, and they mentioned it took a little while to get their cars back. Overall, SET is such a great spot for brunch or dinner. I love that they have vegan options on the menu, which makes it even better for me. Between the food, the music, and the atmosphere, the whole place is definitely a vibe!

They are so kind and made sure our stay was a pleasant one. The hotel itself is right on the sand. There's beautiful views all throughout the hotel and from the rooms. The location is perfect and close walking distance from many great dining spots. You want to walk whenever possible because parking is a bit stressful and walking allows you to enjoy all that Laguna Beach has to offer. One of my favorite things about the room was being able to open the windows and sliding door to the beautiful ocean breeze. It's the best! (We couldn't do that for a portion of our stay because a couple of the neighbors continued to smoke. Not the hotel's fault because it is non-smoking but we were bummed that we kept smelling it in our room.) The room was nice, quaint and clean in general. For the price per night, I would say it might be due for some up keep just from normal wear and tear, such as new pillows and things like that. It wasn't super fancy or anything but the location of it offered beautiful views! The hotel and staff are lovely overall. We would genuinely stay here again.

(That's probably putting it nicely as we were just off the main street and as far away from the sea as possible without standing on the sidewalk.) The room itself was basic but met our needs, though the AC/unit was... different. It was a little floor unit connected to a dryer-vent-style hose that went into the wall. Other than that and some noisy guests and traffic from the street, it worked for me for our weekend. We didn't use the pool or partake in the breakfast, so I cannot comment on those, but the property itself seemed well maintained and they put chairs and umbrellas on the beach when the tide goes out. The uppermost balcony is a great spot to sit or stand in the morning to listen to the waves crash and follow sea birds or spot the occasional dolphin or crazy ocean swimmers. I would go get coffee and spend a few minutes up there each morning. Once you've got your parking spot, it is pretty easy to walk to a lot of places in town -- restaurants, shops and larger beaches -- and there is a shuttle that comes by periodically. There was a parade in town during the time we were there, so those seemed infrequent and nearly always packed with people. Bring comfortable shoes. We were fortunate to get a parking spot on the main hotel grounds. There is a secondary lot pretty close by, and they will give you directions and a map to its location at the front desk. I would not bring a large vehicle (no big trucks or Suburban/Ford Excursion-sized vehicles) since I doubt you'd fit into the small spots in either of the lots.

In October, I booked the hotel for a conference I was attending in Feb. Of 2026. In October, since I wasn't using my credit card to pay for my stay, they asked me to fill out a credit card authorization form for my boss's 'redot card. They followed up a few hours later and even the next day and the following day, too, asking for the form. While it was a priority for me, I also didn't feel there was a rush since the conference was 4+ months away. I turned it in a few days later. 2. After my stay, even though I confirmed with them at check -in that my credit card would only be used for incidentals, they charged my credit card for my stay even though I had filled out a credit card authorization to use my boss's credit card. When I called, either no one would answer my calls or they would answer and be told they will look into it and call me back. They never called me back. I would ALWAYS have to be the one to follow up. A few days later, they finally corrected the charge and charged to the correct credit card. 3. During my stay, I had a pending charge for $300 on my credit card. I asked the front desk if this was for incidentals and they stated yes. I finally check out and the charge never drops, it stays in pending status. I call them, they state it's my credit cards responsibility to cancel that charge. I call my credit card and they state because it's a pending charge, they can't do anything about that charge. I call the hotel again, and they still couldn't help. It finally dropped off yesterday (after 3 weeks) after I finally disputed the charge through my credit card. Again in this situation, I wouldn't get call backs or feel like anyone cared about my situation. 4. I am now doing my expense report at work and I noticed in my folio that I have a $13 charge for water I did not take. 5. I called the hotel to dispute the charge because at this point I am over it and accounting didn't answer (per usual in my experience) and the operator also didn't answer. I finally got an answer after choosing to speak to reservations. The time of this call was 1:10 p.m. you would think they had phone coverage. I still have not heard from them on that charge. I am so over dealing with them. No one helps.

Gershorn, the bellman, was especially engaging and extremely helpful with storing our items and assisting us at the front desk. The front desk manager, Itzya, who checked us in, was also very engaging with us and our children. She provided outstanding customer service and made sure we had all the amenities and information we needed since it was our first time staying at the resort. Our room was fantastic, with a beautiful view of the Huntington Beach Pier. We had the opportunity to watch the sunset overlooking the ocean, which was truly remarkable and such a special memory to share with our family. The kids had an absolute blast at the Driftwood Pool. The pool service was amazing as well. The staff frequently checked on us, and our food was brought out in a timely manner. As a parent of a 3- and 5-year-old, I am not willing to risk exposing my children to any potential chemical issue, regardless of how many times staff insisted it was "perfectly safe." We are now out $1,400 simply because we chose to prioritize our children's health and safety. I even offered multiple times to pay an additional fee just to reschedule the stay, but was told "policy is policy." For some families, losing $1,400 and a family vacation may not matter. For ours, it absolutely does. The lack of compassion, flexibility, and customer care was shocking. I would give this hotel zero stars if possible. I have since deleted my Hilton Honors account and will strongly discourage friends, family, and community members from staying at Hilton properties in the future. Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish.

It was clean and comfortable, with convenient amenities like a mini fridge, blow dryer, shampoo and conditioner, reliable internet, and an easy valet system where you simply text for your car. You can also text to request towels or other items, which was very convenient. Unfortunately, the biggest issue has been the overwhelming smell throughout the property where the guest rooms are located. The odor is extremely strong and smells like mildew or fertilizer to the point that it has been making me physically uncomfortable. When I asked about it, I was told the entire property had recently been fertilized, which is apparently causing the smell. I genuinely do not understand why this would be scheduled during a busy holiday weekend when guests are paying premium rates to enjoy the property and outdoor areas. The smell is unavoidable throughout the walkways leading to the rooms and even around the pool area, making it difficult to relax or enjoy the amenities. As I'm writing this, the odor is still overwhelming. For the service alone, I would give this hotel 5 stars. The staff has truly been excellent. Because we reserve the same room year after year, I've had the opportunity to see the condition of these rooms decline over time. Unfortunately, this year's stay has been especially disappointing. The lack of deep cleaning behind furniture and fixtures is very noticeable, and quite honestly, the condition of the room is unacceptable for the premium rates charged during this event. Friday through Monday stays during the festival are far from inexpensive. One recurring issue is the refrigerator, which has never worked properly. We report it every year, yet the problem remains unresolved year after year. As loyal guests, we expect better. At these prices, guests should receive accommodations that are clean, well-maintained, and fully functional. If improvements aren't made, we will seriously reconsider where we stay for future Newport Jazz Festivals. It's definitely time for some renovations, Hyatt Regency Newport Beach.

Love this hotel, but the biggest buzzkill is the parking situation and all the extra fees they hit…read moreyou with. Let's start with parking. There's essentially no self-parking on the hotel grounds. Your options are either valet or hunt for street parking blocks away and hoping you get lucky with something closer. The added catch? Street parking is only free from 6:00 PM to 8:00AM. Not a huge deal if you're up early, but it becomes an inconvenience when you want to sleep in, enjoy breakfast, or simply relax on vacation. Then there's valet. $70 per night. Seriously? You're parking my car 20 feet away on the curb or in a lot that could be used for self-parking. I've stayed at luxury hotels in Las Vegas that charge closer to $40. If there's no practical self-parking option, valet should be included for hotel guests or at least offered at a more reasonable rate or throw in a sale-parking fee with all the additional charges I'm about to get to in a sec. Guest are hit with additional fees like a destination fee and local tourism fee. Local tourism fee??? This is Newport Beach, not a private island resort. Relax. The hotel itself is great, but the parking situation and nickel and diming guests with extra fees definitely leave a bad taste at the end of your trip and makes you second guess about coming back for another stay.

Why 4 stars? Because the property is beautiful, the rooms are just okay…read more --- --- --- Walking around the grounds of the hotel reminded me a lot of the resorts in Hawaii, which is might be my favorite place in the world. When the sun was setting, it's hard to imagine more beautiful scenery as you stood in the middle of the courtyard, looking out to the ocean. It was the kind of moment where you wish you could freeze time and turn hours into days. 100-stars for that part. There were multiple pools on property and our son really enjoyed the kids pool with the 3 water slides. We would have loved to check out the adult pools too, but we had our 7 year old with us, so that wasn't an option. One bummer on the pools: I got my wife a pina colada and tried a few sips myself: it was great! But I charged it to the room and later found out that my very modestly sized pina colada cost me... $22. Yes, I said $22. A lot of stuff around the property and even within the room was a tad outdated. The bed was easily the least comfortable of the 3 different hotels we stayed at during the week, and I'm never a fan of the small pillows. But overall, I was glad we stayed here just for those views alone.
