Wait times are ridiculous because it's a really small place. Especially on weekends. 28 total tables for all of Draper Riverton South Jordan and Bluffdale is so small. If they were double the size they would be able to handle the crowd. read more

We have been to Penny Ann's many times - I was actually surprised I hadn't reviewed before. We like PAC but it doesn't reach my standard for amazing. Today my husband and I went for a mid-morning breakfast. I wisely joined the waitlist before we left and we only had to wait 10-15 minutes by the time we got there. I ordered the smothered burrito (no eggs). My husband ordered the Big Breakfast as is. I did not love my burrito sadly. It was the chili verde that was my problem. My husband said this doesn't make sense but maybe it will to someone else. It had a vague taste of how food tastes after it has been in a plastic sandwich bag that isn't Ziplock brand. My solution was to just eat the inside, which was pretty ok. My husband liked his plate - especially the heavenly hotcakes. I tried a few bites of his hotcakes too and they were good. They are fluffy with just a hint of saltiness. In the past, I haven't liked their butter (thought maybe it was margarine) but today I had no complaints. Our service was good (not great) but it took longer than usual to get our food. That was not a server issue. Inside is decent and typical diner/local restaurant vibe-y. It was busy and loud but that is typical and a good sign in my opinion. The busy - not the loud- but that is a natural by-product. Overall, we will be back but probably not for a while because it is out of the way for us and good vs great. read more

This is a lovely brunch spot. They heavenly hotcakes are with their most known for and I definitely recommend getting them. We got them as a side and they hold up as the buttery yet also slightly salty savory wonderful Staple of this restaurant. I got the PAC Benedict, which was very good. I've had better eggs Benedict, but this holds up as a good one. I got a side of French toast. Don't waste your time with a French toast, get the heavenly hot cake. You are able to make a reservation however you won't get seated unless every single guest is there not that we're waiting for one person for three more minutes. We still don't get seated unless that person arrives Each time I've eaten here and there are many because my friends wanted to eat here so I come along of course. Often something occurs that I'm not happy with, it's either the coffee or the oatmeal is too watery or I order scrambled eggs with light cheese on top and I receive heavy cheese, or recently the sausage was extremely fatty and oily which made me feel nauseous. Each of the waiters and waitresses are very friendly, also very welcoming! It's constantly crowded during breakfast hours which is a good thing, though it is very apparent that they need a much larger restaurant to accommodate, and if they want to take better care of their guests properly! Even waiting in line in a narrow hallway to go to the bathroom is not a good experience. Yet people come back over and over again I'm not understanding that and I think that my friend group is starting to feel the same about the experience. read more

The (~$12) Breakfast Burrito's cold-ish-stale-ish tortilla with dry (if plentiful) ingredients of seemingly-held-under-a-warmer oven fries, scrambled eggs with bell pepper and sausage (that tasted like a breakfast buffet at a Residence Inn), and meager portion of cheese and conventional Pace-style tomato salsa would be enough to scare me away forever. The bottomless coffee ($3) hit the bottom because it was truck stop-level boring and tired-- caffeine couldn't wake it up. Yet the service was prompt and friendly; breakfast at 8am on a non-holiday weekday was bustling with people; and the huge, fluffy, butter-dripping Heavenly Hot Cakes and waffles that I saw others ordering leads me to think I wholly tried the wrong thing-- even if $13 for only three big pancakes (with no breakfast meat) kinda seemed a rip-off at the time. I obviously haven't been to Penny Ann's in a long time so it's time for an update. We went today for a team lunch at work, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was really busy, but we were seated immediately. It's moderately noisy and very casual, which I appreciate. I had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant with bacon, cheddar, and eggs over medium (funny: I just reviewed my 2016 review and I got the same thing!). It's hard to mess that up, so I was happy with it. I also used a Yelp promo for free Penny Puffs. They were really good--my whole team agreed. Unfortunately, one of my team members asked for the soup instead of fries, and the server heard "sweet potato fries." She didn't insist on fixing the order. My other team member's French toast didn't come out until we were almost done eating. In spite of those hiccups, we were all pretty happy with this choice of lunch spot. I'd come back. read more

Just left Penny Anne's and they suck tremendously! They told me a 15-20 minutes wait for 2 people so we stood 5 ft away from the guy and girl up front. For 15 minutes I watched multiple people get seated before us. After almost 20 minutes I took 3 steps towards them because remember I have been right in front of them the WHOLE TIME, and asked why we hadn't been called yet. This dude looks at me clueless as to who I am even though he took my information down and I've been standing in front of him for 20 minutes. They say they don't have me listed and will put me on the list now, and the wait is now.... 30 minutes! When I asked if that was 10 minutes more or 30 minutes more for a total of 50 minutes he said yes, another 30 minutes! On top of that he acted as though I was being unreasonable. Unfreakingbelievable way to treat a customer. You suck and I will never be back. For the record we went over to Black Bear Diner that is 3 minutes down the rode and got a table in 5 minutes. The food is vastly superior and better priced. At Black Bear Diner they actually care about customers and deliver a great experience. Penny Anne's is garbage!!! read more

We came here for breakfast and it did not disappoint! Be sure to hop on the waitlist through Yelp. We arrived and still had a few people ahead of us on the waitlist but they were able to seat us earlier than our check in time which was awesome. My husband had the Pot of Gold and said it was delicious. We shared a scone which what in Utah sorcery?! I have never seen a scone like this before. They are usually so dry and flavorless but this scone was AMAZING! Definitely must try again! I had the corned beef hash with eggs and a side of pancakes. Everything tasted fresh and was delicious. This all included the pot of gold- the dish I chose, absolutely delicious. The pork chili verde- delicious as well but I think I enjoyed the pot of gold a little more. The French toast was very unique and delicious. And last but not least the Cookie Dough Waffle!!! My son ordered this and I got a few bites, naturally. It was the best waffle I've ever tasted. I ordered the heavenly hot cakes with strawberries, bananas, caramel and whipped cream. Hands down one of the best pancake breakfast spots I've been to in decades. The pancakes were fluffy, filling and delicious. The sweetness of the caramel topping mixed with the fresh fruit and pancakes is something I will definitely be coming back for!
