This is one of the best breakfast spots in Utah, hands down. I've been going to the same location for years and there are many things I like about it. I've seen the same staff regularly which tells me that they treat their employees well and that it's a good place to work. This translates to the food and the quality of customer service. Every time I eat there the food comes out hot and fresh. It doesn't sit under a heat lamp - it comes right off the griddle and they've never even messed up an order. The staff always greets you with a smile and seats you as quick as they can. Good portions are excellent and prices are reasonable. Not to mention, their pancakes are seriously good. Penny Ann's is a great breakfast find!! I recommend getting on the Yelp wait list a while before you plan on coming in if it is a weekend. We went on a Saturday morning, were on the wait list for about 50 minutes, and when we got there there was a huge line of people. Check in before!! The food here is ama omg and the service was fabulous-it felt like southern hospitality. Our group tried omelets, the pot of gold, sandwiches and eggs benedict and everything was amazing. They have many different omelet options. I tried the Cali and the Spanish and both were great. I would definitely get the Spanish again. The Hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict isn't your typical sauce, but still really good. I was surprised how much I liked the pot of gold-eggs and hash browns covered in gravy-but it was a must get! Finally, definitely get an order of the Penny Cakes-fried scone dough with cinnamon sugar. Yum!! Amazing service, and they are taking the necessary COVID precautions! read more

This is my favorite breakfast place around draper. It is delicious! I am not a pancake person but Penny Ann's heavenly hotcakes are to die for! I have been going about once a month for years now. I love the two egg breakfast with hotcakes. The fruits is delicious too. Bananas, blueberries and strawberries. Not the typical melon. I also love all of the omelets! The French toast is good and anytime I bring my kids they love the eggs Benedict. It is absolutely delicious! I've never had anything I didn't live. For lunch the chili verde nachos are so yummy! Ahhhmazing! We just found this restaurant and loved it! The food was delicious and the service was great. Prices were low. Ok so this place is awesome. We had never been here before or even heard of it. It was my wife's birthday and we were looking for a good place to eat for breakfast. And I will definitely be coming back. You know a place is good if the line is out the door on a Saturday morning at 9am. I would recommend joining the waitlist before you get here on yelp so you don't have to wait as long. We are seated within our quoted time. Ok but it isn't always all about the restaurant, because where would they be without their wait staff, let me tell you about our waiter, Jose, was phenomenal. He was so attentive, always refilled our drinks, and made sure we were taken care of! He made good recommendations when we asked what we should get and was so friendly and helpful with our two year old. He made sure things got done quick also. We felt like his only customers. I don't know if that's how they run the place or if Jose was going above and beyond but either way we loved it and because of that alone we would have gone back. When we got our food we were amazed. I got biscuits and gravy and they were so good! The home style potatoes were perfect. My wife got the raspberry doughnut stuffed French toast. We didn't know we were missing anything in our lives until we tried them here. Oh and the scones with their honey butter were to die for. Try it. You need this place in your life. read more

We always go to the Taylorsville location.....We love breakfast.....every other Sunday. The service is topnotch.....they close @ 2:30, but they will seat you up to 2:15/2:20 and will not make you feel rushed to leave. I was told this was a great spot for breakfast and I was not disappointed! I had the chili verde omelet with a side of hot cakes. The omelet was perfect..folded in side was jalapeños and peppers with Colby jack cheese...the chile verde on top was on point! Home fries were the side..just there as a starch. The hotcakes were heavy..which is how I like them..could taste the vanilla..paired well with the two syrups provided. Staff was awesome! I sat at the bar and watched how everyone worked together...very busy, great vibe. My waitress asked my name (which I think is a fantastic way to treat a customer!) Pancakes are worth the hype. We came here right after a nice hike to Lake Blanche, stomachs growling and looking for a hot drink and a hot meal. Their herbal tea options are better than most diners. Not sure about their coffee, but sister seemed pleased with her order. The stars of the show here are the potatoes and the pancakes. The pancakes are both fluffy and substantial. 1 pancake is plenty. 2 pancakes is heaven (because you know you want more). 3 pancakes and they'll be rolling you out like Violet Beauregard. The potatoes have a nice browning on them while still being tender. They're flavorful, too. Don't know how else to describe the potatoes, you've just got to order them and see for yourself. Penny Ann's had a lot of wonderful reviews so we decided to give it a shot instead of Kneaders. The wait was about 30 minutes, but it was worth it. I ordered the classic breakfast that came with eggs, potatoes, and pancakes. The eggs were delicious. The pancakes were supposed to be their most famous item. I wouldn't say they were amazing, I've definitely had better. This place is very average. They use gas station coffee and juice machines, which should more or less tell you what you need to know about the quality. I'm pretty surprised it's rated as high as it is, but then again we have pretty low expectations here in salt lake. We are so saturated by international chains with high volume, low quality metrics that the bar is set pretty low. If your go to breakfast spot is IHOP, Village Inn, or DEES then expect to be impressed because it's a step up from that. Otherwise it's incredibly mediocre. read more
