Great (and beautiful) food, great service, chill atmosphere. I never write reviews, but I felt inspired after eating here

Overall this was a great place to eat. The food was really good. We had sweet waffles (Lemon Blueberry), savory (The Benny, Breakfast, and Chiliburger). All were excellent. I never would have known we were eating gluten free if that hadn't been a selling point when deciding to try it. Besides the excellent food, the staff was also super friendly. A couple of notes of caution, my kids (9 and 12) ordered lemonades ($3.50/per) and they were brought out in the little plastic kid cups. That probably should have been a question we were asked because my kids are old enough to use a regular glass, and it also meant they got a very small amount of lemonade for that price! My daughter also ordered a side of avocado for $2.50 and received 1/8th of an avocado! So those would be "mistakes" I would be careful about in the future, but despite those slight negatives, I highly recommend supporting this place. I definitely want to go back! read more

So I popped over to this place on a quick overnight in Spokane. The space looked clean and the staff was friendly. I ordered the Tarimisu latte which was good and a strawberries and cream waffles with a side of bacon. Now if you like your bacon well done then you will love it but I personally like mine more medium. The waffles were good but the whipped cream had a weird grainy texture and was overly sweet. To be honest my issue wasn't really with the food my issue was with the bathroom. It was DISGUSTING. I will post pictures below but they don't even begin to show how filthy this place was. I'm sure some of you will say I'm being dramatic but I truly am not there was so much I didn't capture. I don't think it has been cleaned since they opened which then made me nervous because when was the last time the health inspector was there??? I think I'm going to start walking into the bathrooms of place before I order food from here on out. Don't come here if you're hungry! Unless waiting 30 minutes for a table and then almost about an hour to get food sounds good for you. Service was a joke, checked on maybe once and that's it. Genuinly waited so long that I started to believe they were growing their own grain in the back and raising chickens for eggs. Go use your money somewhere else! read more

Cute little place that is easy to miss driving by. Went on an off day, Tuesday middle morning so no crowds but that didn't deter the server from his welcome attitude and excellent service. The cookies and cream waffle and rustic avocado or a perfect balance of sweet and savory to share. People's waffle was a lovely breakfast place. The murals are very aesthetically pleasing and the waffles were absolutely delicious. We started out in Ella Rue while we waited, definitely make reservations if you can the wait can be anywhere from 15 mins to 45 ( we lucky got in in 20 mins). My mom and I shared the Benedict waffles and the lemon blue berry - they were both delicious. The Benedict waffle was a sweet waffle with the usual eggs Benny and made a perfect sweet and savory combo. My sister and her boyfriend also really enjoyed their waffles. ( the Bacon Apple & the South of the Boarder). It was cool they offered a vegetarian substitute in the South or the Boarder - you can do pork or jack fruit. The coffee from Ella Rue, I think the Alexandria, was also quite tasty :) I only had a few issues which is why I didn't give a 5 star and that was that the seating is quite limited and really close to other tables which I didn't like very much. Like so close you could accidentally bump into another table while getting up and if a server bent down their hair could get close to your food . The other issue was that they have a kid serving - which is sweet in thought but not executed too well. I think he may need a little bit more training if he continues to help out, when he delivered my sisters waffle he accidentally touched it with his thumb and almost dropped the plate on the table. We ended up just cutting off the piece he touched. it was just a little odd. read more

Was a very cute restaurant we were greeted & sat immediately. Emma Rue is their sister restaurant/bar/cafe that is attached and you can go over and get specialty coffees and bring it back. The restaurant also had regular coffee. I wanted something savory and sweet and they had a half portion option! So I got 1/2 order of the Oreo waffle and then the tradition breakfast. I love sweets but wasn't really a fan of the waffle. I wish there was a Nutella banana option. The breakfast was okay as well. My husband got the Benny and it was pretty good! read more

The colorful mural on the wall inside People's Waffle invites you into a cute and welcoming environment for brunch. I stopped by on a Wednesday morning and it wasn't particularly busy; however, the restaurant asks you not too linger too long after your meal (more than an hour). I imagine on the weekends that this is particularly important as it's a small restaurant and helps them sever more folks. For breakfast I ordered the Lemon Blueberry Waffle ($16) and a side of bacon ($5). The bacon comes with three strips, so it can easily be shared. The lemon and blueberry on the waffle was the perfect combination of sweet and sour. People's Waffle also offers specialty coffees and mimosas. There is even a bottomless mimosa deal for those looking to get a little wild. If you've got little kids in your life, they also offer crayons to color with during your meal. My server was friendly and attentive. She checked on me multiple times, while also seating people and attending to other guests. read more

If you haven't tried this place you are SO missing out. People waffle is hands down the best waffle I've ever had. I'd eat these plain daily they are so good. A nice little crunch and such a soft sweet inside. I literally crave it! I've had both sweet and savory and you can't go wrong with either of them! The blueberry is my favorite but the strawberries and cream is delicious. We clean our plates every single time! We always order a side of bacon because what's a waffle without their tasty bacon! I might have to go today because now I'm wanting one! The service is amazing and so sweet! We've also had the hot chocolate with oat milk so yummy. Not overly sweet and a cute little design!! Sooooo, crazy skeptical when we looked up the place and the location. HOWEVER, this is like 6 out of 5 stars. The service was absolutely outstanding, and the waitress was amazing. A pretty small restaurant. Definitely nothing fancy... Well, except the waffles. This is probably clear to everybody else, but everything is gluten-free. This probably means that they waffles are more chewy than fluffy, but that may not be a bad thing. Service was ok. Like the overall,no-nonsense. I had the waffles with gravy. It comes smothered in gravy, but the waffles had the structure to hold it. The gravy had a bit of a kick, and was definitely hearty. Really very good. I also saw several people with the sampler, and their plates looked like something out of Instagram. Given the size of the restaurant, there is a good chance that you will have a wait, but it is worth it. read more

The server added avocado and that earned an above average tip. This is literally the best food I've had this summer. We went at 9 on Monday morning-3 adults and one toddler. Staff was very friendly and welcoming as our 3 year old grandson announced his need for waffles. Perfect portion for him , cut into bite sized squares with fresh strawberries and blueberries on the side. Honestly, I really wanted to love this place but I just could not get past the entire experience as a whole. Don't get me wrong, food was great and coffee was delicious but overall service ruins the entire experience. We came at 11:30 am to get a table for 5. We were told it would 30 to 45 minutes. We checked in a few times after that but we weren't seated until 12:55 am. And we weren't even seated until we asked if they could just combine the tables outside to speed up the process. The hostess hesitated but came back out a few minutes later and agreed that it was fine to do that. Waiter was nice. Took our order and made a few reccomendations. We weren't really checked on at all after food was brought. Maybe that was because we were outside. We came inside to pay the check. The cashier had no idea what she was doing and had to request assistance to split the check for us. This totally fine but we were curious about being indoors and wanted to hang out for a little while longer insude since it had rained outside. We went to check out the couch areas and just take a look around the resturaunt and she used her arms to herd us back down away from the "lounge" area and told us we can't be there. She didn't explain why or anything. She just herded us away and made us feel unwelcome. I really wanted to love this place because food is so good but I felt pretty unwelcome and entire establishment is unorganized. read more

I did have a cup of coffee and while it was good, it did seem pricey for a single cup of drip coffee at $3.50. They never offered a refill. Full disclosure: I never visited the food truck version of this restaurant. However, this morning my wife and I went to the soft opening of the brick and mortar location of the People's Waffle, located at 15 S. Howard. We were enthusiastically greeted by a friendly hostess and promptly seated. We immediately noticed the lively mural on one wall (photo 1) and the clean but stylish feel of the space (photos 2 and 3). Our server, Katie, promptly greeted us and asked for a drink order. She was cheerful and attentive throughout our meal, which was much appreciated. The People's Waffle offers a selection of sweet and savory waffles, so Nancy and I decided to order one of each and share. Nancy ordered the Benny (photos 4 and 5), their take on Eggs Benedict, and I ordered London Fog (photos 6 and 7), a name which coffee stand aficionados may find familiar. The London Fog waffles were topped with a chai "syrup," meringue, and small bits of honeycomb for a delightfully unexpected crunch. As planned, we each ate half of each waffle, and we agreed that they were both delicious. The Hollandaise on the Benny was proportioned just right. The London Fog was sweet but not cloying. The waffles themselves were firm and tasty but not overpowering - the perfect vehicle for the creative toppings. We will be back to try more of them. A nice touch in this time of COVID and social distancing is the touchless pay option (picture 8). I was able to scan the code and enter credit card info or use Apple Pay. It was smooth, easy, and I could do it when I felt like it, which I did after finishing my coffee. I found the prices to be fair and the wait reasonable. Give the People's Waffle a try. Fantastic brunch spot! The waffles have just the right crunch and chewiness and they really do a great job integrating waffles into all their dishes. Highlight dishes are the breakfast sandwiches and the Benny. Great service, really good coffee and we ended the meal with the Sweet Flight giving us a taste of all their sweet waffle dishes. Nutty or Nice was my favorite. Highly recommend if you are in downtown Spokane. Restaurant is small but tables turn pretty fast. read more
