The guys at this Pep Boys are doing a great job. Unfortunately I had to replace my car a while ago and soon after that the car that I just purchased had some overheating "troubles". I had to replace the radiator. The guys at Pep Boys not only checked the car but they actually showed me the reason why I had to replace the radiator and not just the thermostat. I was hoping it was just the thermostat to it won't be as expensive but ... they were right and they took the time to show me why. They also made recommendations related to other parts like the water pump and the belts saying that they do not need immediate replacement but that I should have it in plan sometime. Talk about no hassle. They could've told me that I need to replace this and that and that but they didn't. I've had other jobs done by them on my previous car and here is a list of things that they do and I would say at a pretty fair price: Both front axles replaced: $330 - this was about 1.5 years ago Radiator replaced: $500-550 recently (the price range was due to the fact that they had to run a check prior to actually replacing the radiator since I did not know what was wrong) Quote for replacing a Clutch: UNDER $600 All of these are valid for a 96-97 Honda Civic EX The guy at the service department that seems most reliable and willing to help out is JUAN read more

I do not understand how this place stays in business. I have had my van repaired three times for the same problem and they just could not get it right. I gave in and took it to the dealer who could not believe the work they seen done. I will not make that mistake ever again. So I am a completely oblivious when it comes to cars, so when walking into this store I knew i was going to be hear a while looking for a stupid break light. Thank God for the assistance first there was a mini computer that basically told me which light it was and 2nd one of the employees was there to confirm it !!!! They always have sales and their points and award system is awesome!, Ezechiel Jaime and the staff are friendly, goes out of his way to help everyone as well as the mechanics and manager. If there's ever anything I need they tell me they will have it ready by tomorrow no later than that and their oil changes are less than thirty minutes and satisfactory. I went in today with my boyfriend to buy oil. As I waited for him to get what he needed I was looking at their phones accessories. I stood there and there was three employees standing by the tire service area. I clearly heard one of them say (an older man) a racial slur about a person of color. That really bothered me to hear. I dont know if they thought I didn't understand spanish but I heard what was said. Once we were ready to pay it took at least ten minutes to get rung up with no other customers in the store. At this point there was one guy just standing in the tire service area. He called someone to come. When she finally came we noticed she was tue sales manager on duty. This review isn't for all the workers just one in particular "Ivan". I literally only use this Pep Boys for the past 7 years and when I go its for oil changes or things for my truck. Today, I was there to get oil and as I was leaving I asked if I can use a funnel "Which has never been a problem".. Either the worker will provide the funnel or actually be kind and do it for me. As I asked for a funnel today to the young lady who was on her phone sitting down, she said let me ask Ivan for one.. Ivan said NO. I said excuse me? He said NO we don't have them to loan out.. I said Ive never had an issue using a funnel and he once again said No we never did that. I have been going here for 7 years literally with no issue. Not A Happy Customer At all!!! I went to get an oil change and noticed a weird noise and smell after a few days of driving my car. When I lifted up the hood of My car there was oil all over the damn place. The technician forgot to put the oil cap back on. I had not one drop of oil left!! I hope that my motor has no damage being that there was a large amount of oil everywhere. I'm taking my car back there today and demanding my money back and reimbursement for the 4 oil bottles I had to purchase so that I could drive my car to work!! Super rude unorganized people. Placed an order and paid online to pick up in store. Got a call that my order is ready. Went to pick up, the cashier said i needed to show ID since the order was already paid, showed her ID, then she asked me to pay again. I told her I had already paid online, even she had confirmed the order was paid for when I arrived. She proceeded to be extremely rude to me, said my card was declined (obviously not true since it was an online order and my order wouldn't have processed if that was the case). Had to call and speak to someone else who explained THEIR system was having issues that's why my online payment wasn't processed. This Pep Boys location is my go to location for all automotive needs, for several years now! The staff provides me with excellent service (Friendly and Knowledgeable)! From the front in cashiers, to the guys is the service department, they will treat you as if they really appreciate your business. As a consumer, I know that I have choices of where I spend my hard earned cash. I keep going back to this location because they keep giving me reasons to return. If you have ever needed to repair your car, it never seems to come at a good time and always comes with an element of stress. Why the stress? Well, I'm not a mechanic, so I'm at the mercy of where I choose to take my vehicle and I just hope that I will not get ripped off! Here, they will take the time to explain the problem, what is causing the problem and how they can fix the problem. If its something they can't repair, they have the integrity to say "I should take it to the dealer"! The front in staff always say "hello and can I help you find something"? Just great customer service! Going to this location matches the examples that you see on the TV commercials and that's another reason that I choose to return. They are extremely competitive with their pricing and they will price match. I have saved hundreds of dollars by being a regular customer of this location. I always compare what they charge for tire service, parts and labor charges, with what my Nissan dealer charges and the Pep Boys at 10231 Lakewood Blvd, Downey California wins every time! I was 15 miles from home at 8pm on a Tuesday night with a nail in my tire. All of the tire shops were closed and I pulled into Pep Boys hoping to get help. Manual Loucel was professional and said they could take care of it right away. Within 45 minutes the tire was repaired and I was able to drive home without worrying. I went to this pep boys to get my breaks fixed.. I was gettting squiling noice from 'em. They asked me to replace frnt break pads and rear drums.. charged approx 275-300 $ It didn't fix the issue so I went back to them in 2-3 days.. they sent me back saying it takes time to settle so drive 300-400 miles and comeback... I did the same... they asked me to replace breakpads on rear tires... and said they will charge approx 150 bucks for labor... I resisted... and finally they only charged for part.. But it didn't fix the issue... I am getting even more squiling noice from my car... when I put the breaks.. Turns out they don't accept it! even though it was that Pep boys specifically advertising it!! I had to dumb it down to the man and he insisted that he couldn't accept it. Mad me mad that THIS THING is the manager. If that wasn't enough...they made us wait for no reason and answered phone calls when i was talking. I brought my work truck in for a leak in the radiator (emergency for me- I cant work without this truck) on Sunday June 14th. 2015. My Truck is repaired, with a lifetime warranty on the radiator. I have to say my baby has allot of miles on her and the warranty is a great comfort. For same day service, warrantying the work and not price gauging me, This is my location . I was due for another oil change, so I called a location closer to home, and they wanted to charge me DOUBLE what this location charged. I emailed and this issue hasn't been resolved... I just left this store and I am a little disappointed. I brought my car in yesterday to get a rear break light replaced and after they inspected my car I was quoted $20 but because I could not wait more than a hour for them to get started on my car, I told them I would come back today. I went to the same location today and was told $29.99 for the Exact same job. I asked what was the difference and I was told I should be lucky because it normally cost more than $40 for my car type. They went on to say that they had to remove my trunk interior to replace the light and that's why it cost so much. I asked to watch while they completed the job and NO interior was removed!!!! They simply popped out the light. After unscrewing two small bolts. When paying for the device I asked again for a reduced rate because they didn't remove any interior and they gave me a 10% discount. What a scam!!!
