Well.. I have not had much to say about them until now... The only reason they didnt get 1 star is because OCCASIONALLY they have given me a discount on the price of something. HOWEVER.. and this is a big however... 1) They are not good with Kia's and they never say that... but they dont know jack about them. They also have to ALWAYS get Kia factory parts and mark them up. 2) You get different answers from people depending on who you talk to which cries to me "SHADY"! 3) I took my car in for a tune up and oil change for which I was quoted 200 bucks but then charged 130.. weird.. but whatever.. I thought "cool" ...but why they keep quoting different prices? unprofessional. THEN I get home and realize my air conditioning isnt working. I call them and they say that they wouldnt be anywhere near the air conditioning while working on the car but to bring it in and they'll look at it. So I bring it in.. they tell me that they need to replace the Air Conditioning switch assembly and the blower motor which in total w/ labor would be about 700 bucks when I calculated it all... I was skeptical. I mean the lights on the switch assembly still worked and it was still getting cold and hot but just not blowing air. I called the Kia dealer down the road and they said they didnt think it was what Pep Boys said. OH, REALLY! Guess the F what?! It wasn't. Guess, just guess how much the repair was. Like 230 bucks!!!!! Thats it! AND they even said that it was possible that Pep boys damaged something while they were doing the tune up.. not for sure but I think its pretty freakin shady that I bring the car in and then magically the air goes out. Hm. DONT GO HERE. They could rip you off and they dont know jack squat about what they are doing. I personally will not go here again. read more

I normally do not have good experiences from this company. This place was a total refreshment though. It was 8:30 in the morning on a Tuesday, I had a tail light out and we were trying to get back to the DMV to take a driving test. I wish I caught his name, but He did the normal sale of the brake light and came out to install it. My car does not have a access to the brake lights from the trunk, you must unscrew it and then by able to pop out the rivets on the opposite side without breaking the shell/cover. This gentlemen spend over 25 minutes trying to get it off without even saying he needed to get back into the store. Normally every car place I know like this would have given up after about half that time. I want to thank them for a super job! The two bulbs and the cleaning kit combined costed $9.47 total. Very reasonable. If you need help they will go the extra mile to help you here and being only about 2 miles from the DMV was a huge help as well. Very highly praised here and I wish to thank you and your store! read more

The absolutely worst service I have ever experienced. Brought my car in at 11am, running. They did their tests and in the midst of testing managed to do something to where my car wouldn't start. Now forcing me to pay $500+ to fix an issue I didn't even bring the car in for. And when i asked what OTHER issues there could possibly be, he looked at me and said "this needs to be fixed first before i do anything else" and walked away from me. And on top of that they told me "this doesn't guarantee the car will run". Now after waiting 5 hours I asked for a time estaminte and they haven't even started the repairs! Welp! this ONE Star is not for the WHOLE store but for the FUCK at the parts counter that told me that they do NOT have an E-Brake Cable or Parking brake cable .. at ALL?? .... didnt even bother to look at the computer..... I ordered and paid for a headlamp online. The item was good in stock and ready for pick up right away, or so the Pep Boys web site said. WRONG! Item out of stock so the manager of the parts counter tells me they will honor the price and give me a higher quality bulb for the same price. He has me follow him to the front of the store, after asking another employee what his password was the bonehead, (I mean parts manager) cancels my on-line order without saying a word and tells me that I have to pay cash. This was a company purchase, I had no cash with me and I had forgot my wallet on my desk at the office. Sale lost, customer lost, negative review posted! Never again Pep Boys! read more

I have a buddy that swears by this place and i absolutely see why. Showing up to initially get my headlight replaced, which, the more than qualified manager, Brett Bonhomme, not only replaced it like it was no big deal, as well as the whole store being helpful, informative, nice and understanding, he found my breaklight that was out, which for the life of me i couldnt find (was going crazy for weeks about the light on my dash). This should be your one stop shop if you live in simi, even if youre just passing by and need maintenance needs or anything done under the hood. read more

I ordered a part online that said it was in stock at the store. I received an email telling me my parts are ready for pick up. When I got down there they didn't have one of the parts. Not having it in stock is fine, my issue was..I wasn't told by whomever filled my order. That was fully in their control, as they had all my contact info. But, Fernando came to the rescue! He was kind, understanding & apologetic, and took care of me. He also said he is working on the email issue, which evidently, automatically goes out whether or not the part is available (let that be a warning). He is the gold standard in management!! So yesterday my tire went flat and when we put my spare on, even that was flat. It was a nightmare and then just continued to go down hill. Not having a spare meant we had to get a new tire ASAP so that I could get to work the next day. We got into the store just a few minutes before they were closing and asked for a tire please. Brett talked with us and mentioned he was just about to leave, that everyone else in the department had already left and all of the air compressors were off for the night. My mind started spinning and I was worried. We had BARLEY made it to the store. We couldn't drive my car. Brett was amazing and stayed late to make sure a new tire got on my car. The Service Dept. was useless! My 1998 Ford Mustang had leaked out radiator fluid. I had to Stop into Pep Boys because my car was leaking green fluids everywhere and the car was overheated. I walked over to the service dept at 3:30 in the afternoon and the guy behind the counter was not friendly or helpful in fact he sent me away. However, the lovely gals in the store - were very helpful and one of the gals -Christine was great. She helped me with the right fluids and helped me pour the fluids in the car and had me on my way back to Burbank. Needless to say I made it home safe and if it wasn't for the help of a young female in a MANS' world of labor and car service I probably would have blown the engine. I went to Firestone and got new tires. But then they said that my car needed a wheel alignment and that it would be an additional $89. I thought that was too high, so I declined and called this Pep Boys. I think it was Eric or Manny who quoted me $69.99 to have a wheel alignment... Anyway, so I took it in on a late Friday evening, and Manny ran the test to see if it truly needed an alignment. The test showed that all of the measurements were within the allotted tolerances. He said that I didn't need an alignment! He even gave me a copy of the report so I could study it. How is that for honesty??? Manny is a great guy - and I got a feeling that everyone there is too. I came in and asked them to pull the check engine codes from my car- took about 15 minutes, but they squeezed me in. I had three different codes, all related to emissions. I asked them if there was any way I could pass a smog check if they cleared the lights for me, they told me I would have to get catalytic converter changed (costly). They told me they didn't do that work at their location but offered to refer me to a local mechanic. I ended up clearing the codes, driving for a bit then passed smog with no issue. The light didn't come back. Not sure if they were intentionally lying to me to get business or if they genuinely thought parts had to be replaced. I do appreciate them looking at the codes and talking to me free of charge, they just happened to give me bad advice read more

Everytime I've come into the auto service dept. the guys have been very helpful. I was low on oil once and Nelson took a few minutes to show me how to check it, and add oil when needed between changes. Today I came in with my car half broken down and barely driving. Eric was very quick to help and ran a diagnostic check before scheduling an appointment later that day. Being a woman who knows nothing about cars, I know it's easy to be taken advantage of (crying hysterically doesn't help) The guys that work here have gone above and beyond to be helpful and I am very grateful. They have each taken the time out to explain what they are doing and why it's needs to be done, making sure I understand each step, which is something no mechanic has ever done for me. They then gave me one quote to do another repair and when I called them back, they raised the quote by $250 and told me that it could still change. Took my car in this morning at 830 am to get one tire patched . I had already had the tire removed and was told should take about an hour because there was a couple customers ahead of me ! I agreed and left expecting it to be done around the time frame he said because I have somewhere to go today. Well 12 o'clock came and still no call. So I called them and they said they are unable to locate the hole and will call me back shortly. When I was able to locate the hole last night in 10 minutes with the tire still on the car.. I believe they haven't even started. It is now 1:25pm and I think I'm going to pick up my tire and take it elsewhere because this is really unprofessional and unacceptable! I will not do business here again and don't recommend anyone else doing so either! Also wanted to add when he asked for my phone number he wrote down the wrong number!!! I then corrected it for him and he said wow I knew I got it wrong ... I should've left after that.. so disappointed with the service provided. read more

I called and asked if they could resurface my rotors for my truck, the guy on the phone said yes and it should take an hour to do it. I told him I should be there within one hour, he said fine. I live a couple of blocks from this pep boys and would have to walk with the rotors to drop them off. My truck is the only transportation I have right now since my wife is at work. When I get there, the service department manager or supervisor (white shirt) tells me, "Nope can't do them, we're too busy!" I told him I called around one hour ago and I was told that they would be able to resurface my rotors. What a waste of time!!! That's the last time I go to pep boys, I don't care how close they are to my house! I'll drive a down the street to O'Reilly's or Napa! P.S. I walked two blocks over to MIDAS and they were happy to resurface my rotors. The manager at Midas told me they get many UNHAPPY pep boys' customers coming over to them to fix their screw ups! I'm going to MIDAS next time I want my rotors resurfaced. read more
