Called on a Thursday to get info on a tire. Told me they will look it up and give me a call back. They never called. Went in-person on Friday and they ordered the tire and told me the next morning (Saturday) they will get it in and call me. Next day 2pm comes around and no call so I call them. Turns out they have the tire but never called me. Then I go in to get the tire put on after I hang up. I check in and they tell me they are going to start working on it so I start waiting. About hour and a half goes by and the worker tells me my car (tells me wrong car) is going to be done soon. I told him that's not my car and I tell him what car I am waiting for. He makes a confused face and then goes out the back door back door. At this moment I get a weird feeling so I go out the front door and see if my car is still in the same spot as I dropped it off and low and behold, it is. The entire time they forgot about my car and I wasted 1.5 hrs just sitting there (I should of figured when a couple came in about a hour later for the same thing and got there car done before me) I then go see the guy get in my car and drive it to the back and start the work. Finally comes back and it's finished (about 2hrs have passed in total). Go to checkout and they rang me up wrong when I came in the day before so they had to get on the phone with IT and correct it (luckily they let me leave at this point). Front 2 workers are nice caring people but when it comes to work they were all over the place and disorganized (almost gave me the wrong keys). read more

Ordered tires got them 2days latter,not a deal breaker,received a phone call that tires were in , and was told to come done right away and they will have two tires mounted in 45min.,Everyone coming in was told 45minutes.I sat there for 2 hrs as 3 guys were taking naps and playing on there phones ,What a joke, As I was taking pictures I was approached by a gentleman asking if I got sone good pictures,I explained my flustering experience and he stated he would check it out.What a joke,Don't waste your time.So up date I went out to pick up the truck,only to find they removed the spare tire off left rear almost new condition and mounted new tire on rim and put under truck. 2 second new tire went on left side and tried to send me on my way with bald tire on right rear. read more

Would give 10 stars if possible. Beyond great customer service from assistant store a manager Lindsay. Went in to get my tire fixed, and the mechanics discovered my arm bar was completely detached in the back. (I'd heard the clunking for a while figured it was something rolling around in my trunk.) Lindsey was adamant I didn't drive any further due to the severity of the Damage and possible dangers that came with it. I was given a Lyft ride home and my care was fixed the next day. Had a great experience, as anyone could having their oil changed. Anyway, they also found a potential hazard down the line if I did not take care of it. Well I had a slow leak in a tire on my Mercedes Benz. Found out it wasn't repairable so I went on Amazon and purchased this 255/35/19 $272.00 beast. Not wanting just anybody to install it, I called around the Beaumont area for a install and balance quote. Long story short I got from $45.00 to $80.00 and half day to do it. I called a friend at Pep Boys and asked if they would do it. He said no problem take it to Yucaipa. Kinda hesitant I took a chance cause I was tired of riding around with this tire in my trunk. Wow, wow and more wows. Drove up, Chrissy knew I was coming and gave her my keys. Walked out with her, grabbed a cigarette, I know ugh, and didn't even get to light it before my car was done. At a price that was unbelievable. Chrissy has my business for good. I'm ordering tires for my other car from her next week. Great experience and great job Chrissy at Yucaipa Pep Boys. read more

1 star is way too much. I could write a book on the horror show that is yucaipa pep boys. I will try and summarize. I dropped my truck off in May of 2020 with a leaking coolant line. I figured, no big deal right? No. It ended up being a horribly placed rubber hose between the engine and the turbo. To get to it, the entire truck body had to be removed. They said they could do it. About a month later. I got a call that it was done. I was ecstatic. I hopped in and drove about 200ft before smoke began pouring out of the engine compartment. I took it back. 2 days later, same thing, I got a call saying it was fixed. Hopped in, drove 3 blocks before I noticed it was overheating. I called, they said bring it back. By the time I limped in there, it was evident there wasn't a drop of water in the coolant system. The heads warped. They sucked it up and agreed they were responsible and paid for the new heads and labor. 6 months later... they said they can't get it going. The problem must be a recalled part. They said I Needed to have Chrysler perform the service. I had it towed ro Chrysler of redlands where they could not believe the state of the truck. The said it looked like a bomb went off. There was silicone and glue everywhere, parts hanging down, etc. The agreed to perform the recall repair but noted it had nothing to do with the original hose bursting which was the problem to begin with. Pep boys paid to have it towed back so they could finish the repairs. A couple of months later, the district manager called and said since the recall part caused the problem. They would NOT be doing anymore work on the truck. Yeah, I'm serious. They took my truck apart, gave it back to me with the engine in pieces. Chrysler refused to work on it due to the HORRIBLE state these clowns left it in. The people at the shop were professional. I do not believe the mechanics were equipped to perform such a huge repair. The district manager did not care that I no longer had a working vehicle. I'm still paying 600 bucks a month on that truck. I have taken it to 3 different shops and no one will mess with it because there are missing parts and it us literally a disaster. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP. There are plenty of shops that know what they are doing and will fix their screw ups. This is corporate greed stepping on the little guy at its finest. Stay away from pep boys. Tell everyone you know to do the same. read more

I had my brakes checked and they stated I needed new rear rotors but I took it to another place I trust and they stated my rotors were fine. I had some minor starting problems and PEP boys said my starter was bad but again, I had it checked and the starter is ok. Finally, I had my control arms replaced just over two years ago by PEP boys and the 2nd place I took it to says my control arms are warn and in danger of failing. It leads me to wonder I if they ever were replaced. The manager was not respectful when I had questions about tire wear. He did apologize which I appreciate but the above discrepancies are difficult to stomach. read more

Took my car there to get nails taking out of my tires and have them repaired. Made sure that I circled areas so they knew where they were. I picked my car up thinking it was fixed and two days later same tire went flat again . Went back in telling them that the nail was never taken out and you can visibly see the nail was still there . They told me they will not repair it cause my tires are too bald and that I need new tires. When the first time I went in originally they told me they would take care of it ! . I went to dino tires right after said there was plenty of tread and they fixed the tire and patch it right up. read more

I brought my Toyota Sequoia in there last week. Steven and Lindsey were awesome. The quality of Nicks work was great. My truck is 12 years old with over 100,000 miles and they recommended several services. All of the services were valid - struts/shocks/brake fluid flush and rear brake job and they gave me several discounts and said they would resolve my TPMS light (tire pressure sensor) for free. (Usually around $100.) After wrestling with my TPMS system for several hours they determine that three of the batteries were dead and one of the sensors was completely broken. They were unable to get the system to re-sync so they replaced all 5 of the TPMS sensors for a net of only $150 after further discounting my other services. The tire was fixed and we are very pleased with the experience. Lindsey was very positive and polite to every customer in the shop. I am glad to see her back at the shop. Went there to get AC check ran because it says on their own website ( even with putting in location of YUCAIPA, CA) and made an "free" check appointment online. Arrive before appointment time and told by cashier that there are NO FREE SERVICES at Pep Boys in California... Such a lie and then offered to charge me over $110 to look at it and if they can diagnose a problem then it's an additional $20 for the check. What?!?! I purchased my vehicle from Enterprise Auto Sales in Rialto and they sent me to Pep Boys to have my driver's side window inspected. It was not going up all the way. I waited for two hours in the waiting room back on April 15, 2022. I still have the text from Pep Boys telling me I could click the link to see the status. My window is doing the same thing now as it was in April. When I called they said they could not find it in the computer. They have no record of any repair or even a visit. I asked for paperwork back in April, but they said it was sent to Enterprise, who surprise, can't find it either. They claim I should have received an email. I did not. I explained that the paperwork must be lost and they said this has never happened before and they could look at the window, but could not promise that I would not be charged. The associate on the phone kept asking if I had a receipt. Of course I don't. They said it went to Enterprise. It probably went to the sales rep who sold me the car who is no longer there. This is not the first time Pep Boys has been a disappointment, but it will be the last. Our Yucaipa community is usually amazing. This is such a disappointment. I will have to pay for something to be repaired that should have been fixed in April while the car was still under warranty from the dealership. I brought my car in for clutch work. The clutch needed to be replaced. After being there the cost and the work increased. Needed a new flywheel. Then ran into other problems that ended up costing more. The cost of the total work ended up running $400 Over what I was originally quoted for just a clutch. I am not even sure where to start. I just picked up my Volkswagen Tiguan which was brought in leaking coolant. I was told that it would take 6 hours and $609 to find out where exactly it was leaking and which parts would be needed, no problem. I was told it was the water pump which costs a little over $300, no problem. I was told that they had broke a piece in the process and that they would cover it but it might take a little more time, again I had no problem with it as these things can happen. So, what is the problem? I have a problem with the fact that it took them an entire week to get the job finished. I dropped the vehicle off on Tuesday evening for them to start work on Wednesday; they did not get the parts to begin working on it until Monday! I have a problem with the fact that nearly all communication was initiated by me. I called once daily (except on the weekend, more on that later) at about 11:30 to get a status update after there was a day that I didn't hear from them at all. When I did call and merely said that I was calling regarding the status of my vehicle, I would speak with Lindsey and would immediately be inundated with excuses and condescending remarks: "I am in the middle of trying to finish an inventory", "This is a delicate job it is going to take time", You need to be patient with us, we don't want to break anything else", "The tech that is working on your car does not work on weekends, so it won't be until some time next week", "An email that the dealer thought they sent us didn't go through". Once the excuses were finished, I was given a vague update that was basically not today. Now some of those I understand, but the tech working on my car doesn't work on weekends? If there was only a single technician that is qualified to do the work and there may be issues with the job being done timely, I would expect that this be communicated to me prior to me consenting to your shop doing the work. If you have a shop that is open 7 days a week, I don't think that it is unreasonable for me to expect that someone will be working on it each day until it is done, not that my car is sitting there for two days over the weekend not being worked on while I am paying for a rental car! I understand that inventories are stressful and busy, but as a customer that is not my problem nor is it an excuse for not getting the work done to my car in a timely manner. I also have a problem with you making disparaging comments about my car, while we were picking up the car Lindsey actually had the audacity to say, "I am never buying a Volkswagen! This was a nightmare! German cars can be like that". I get that it was a feeble attempt at a joke, but we also have a Mercedes that we used to bring here for tires and oil changes. Besides my German wife who was standing right there did not appreciate the comment either. The one thing that I was counting on and that Lindsey did repeat many times while giving me excuses was that she said that she was willing to work with me on the price. That she had coupons and that there were discounts and other things that she would help me out with for the inconvenience. She only gave me a 15% discount. I mentioned that I was a veteran she said that the Veteran discount was a 10% discount and that she was giving me a better one at 15%. So, in actuality as a veteran the favor she did for me was only a 5% as I was already going to get the 10% as a veteran. She then said that the employee discount is only 20% and that she only gave that to customers a couple of times and that she gets in trouble if she does. I think, in this case, it might have been better for you to get in a little trouble for giving me the extra 5% rather than tell me that you have done it before, but were apparently unwilling to do it at that moment. That was the final slap in my face and the final straw in that I will never be back at your establishment! I cannot image something more rude! read more

Needed an inspection to drive with UBer... the place they recommended had a 5 to 6 hour wait and the gentleman at the counter was fairly rude... so I called around and spoke with someone at Pepboys in Yucaipa. Extremely friendly and said the inspection would be free... she advised me of the best time to come in... so I figured why not.... I walked in to a nice clean waiting room and two smiling faces behind the counter... one of the two took my information and got the ball rolling. They were kind enough to allow my son to plug in his phone... they had a technician taking my car back within 5 minutes... talk about amazing service!!! The old manager, Victor, was awesome. Since the new manager has come on board, the service has gone WAY done. Took my car for an oil change recently. They had to keep my car 4-5 hours! To change the oil!!!! Horrible. Another time, took my car in for a few maintenance items needing completed. One of which was a tire alignment. After several hours, we go back to pick it up and find the alignment wasn't done. Even though it was written on the original service order. The last three times we have been there, we have negative experiences. I wish Victor was back. He was personable and did whatever it took to make things right with the customer. We got a couple of new tires back when Victor was still there. Now we need some new tires and the new guy quotes double the price. Horrible service and rip off! read more

This is my first time going here, and the location is pretty convienant. I'm a student at the local college, so having a mechanic in the area is quite useful. The reason I went in was to have my car checked for a leak. I go in, do the usual paperwork and within 30 mins I have an evaluation done. To start off, my experience with the mechanic I had, Corbin I believe, was excellent. He was down to earth and showed me exactly what was going on, all while using simple terminology to explain the parts. However, the man at the desk, Francisco, was a different story; I didn't have as good of an experience with him at all. After Francisco showed me the price of repairs, I nearly fainted! I was clearly in distress, and instead of explaining to me each individual cost, he handed me the paper and put a check mark next to the price. Not the best customer service in the world! All in all my expierence was decent, and I would come back. read more

Been here a few times now and I will give them five stars due to their great service that was given to me. Had oil change & tire rotation done with special coupon made available. They are very efficient and the service manager kept me post while helping other customers. The only thing is this pep boys does not have a full service stop like most of them have so do not expect to "buy" much from here. Got towed in on Saturday at about 5pm after wifey got a flat and chewed her tire to nothing on debris in the 10e bypass lane. The shop was not busy, they were happy to see us and worked with the driver to drop her car into a bay and got right to work pulling the tire/rim incase there were going to be necessary repairs (did I mention they close at 6?). Once the necessary data was pulled from the car (vin/milage etc) we went inside to check on what tires they had available (2015 Ford Mustang v6 with 18" wheels/tires) heh they had 1 to choose from, so we went with it. Got a fair price on the tire and install and we were done in less than 30 minutes. One caveat emptor - that soda machine in the lobby is a trickster and likes to shake up your soda; lol be careful or you will pop the top all quick like I did and make a mess.... read more

My father in-law and I had a great experience when we visited this Pep Boys location. First off this location primarily works on cars and has a very limited part / accessories selection. The waiting area is spaces with comfortable chairs (both high and low) and tables. There's free WiFi so you can keep busy / productive electronically during your wait. We missed the time earlier in the day when they were busier so that was very sweet. Our friendly mechanic took us to the work area to thoroughly explain the problem with our vehicle and prioritized what needed to be done first, etc... so we could make some informed decisions. If you are having any auto issues, just go here. I walked in and was greeted within 1 second. My splash guard had apparently detached after offroading on my way to a hike and it was hanging down when I finished my hike at 4:00 PM. Since I was from out of town and didn't know where to go, I just pulled in here and hoped they could fix it. The lady who helped me said they see that problem all the time, pulled my truck around back, screwed the splashguard back in using their screws, didn't charge me for anything, and I was on my way within less than 10 minutes.
