Arrogant, ignorant, and abusive - my perception is that these Pep Boys employees take advantage of customers who lack the knowledge of automotive technology. Arrogant: The pompous attitude of the employees (highlighting "David") of this Pep Boys is repulsive. I believe the cockiness of these employees may derive from a lack of confidence in their abilities to perform their jobs (over confidence applied as a distractor is common), but I can't be certain. Either way, the attitude of superiority is offensive. Ignorant: The employees have never been trained in customer service skills. Employees rarely answer the phone, they don't understand transparency (keeping customers apprised of vehicle status), and they make customers feel less than - the feeling of inferiority I experienced in this Pep Boys establishment was unfortunate. Abusive: This Pep Boys establishment meets both definitions of abusive (insulting/offensive and cruel/unkind). Taking advantage of people who do not understand the inner workings of vehicles is exceptionally disheartening. I don't believe marking up common parts (which can be found at a Yuma AutoZone) 400% is an industry standard - I think that's referred to as "ripping people off." Additionally, charging an inordinate amount for labor at a nation-wide chain seems strange, and not within industry standards of integrity - again, my opinion. And if the perceived unreasonable cost of automotive work at Pep Boys is their nation-wide standard, Pep Boys corporate in Philadelphia, PA needs to review their business model. In 1921, I don't believe Manny, Moe, and Jack (original founders) intended on their business chain employees to be horrible at customer service skills, and even more disconcerting, treat people with disrespect in a Veteran-friendly town (Manny, Moe, and Jack served honorably in the Navy together). There are too many trusting, dependable, transparent, competent, and customer relationship building automotive shops in Yuma, AZ that need your business. Save your precious time and dignity - avoid the Pep Boys at 155 E. 32nd St. Specifically to Pep Boys employees: Please make an effort in ensuring you and your people become properly trained in leadership, management, and customer relations skills. The "soft skills" of organizational efficacy are just as critical to business success as the "hard skills" of technical proficiency. If you're going to charge too much for the work you do, at least ensure the customer feels good about it. Humility, integrity, and the old school theory of "the customer's always right" are integral ingredients to a great start to a new and improved Pep Boys at 155 E. 32nd St. Specifically to the store manager: Although a reply to this post is courteous, it is often a requirement and "check in the box" rather than a genuine concern for a customer's experience. I would rather you apply the valuable time to training yourself and your team in being better employees of the Pep Boys brand. Have to admit our first experience with this Pep Boys was not good due to an employee in the service department's lack of customer service skills and us cancelling our appointment for an alignment check/alignment after a long wait with nothing happening to our car and no explanation of why. After submitting a complaint online to Pep Boys, we immediately received a phone call from James apologizing and requesting another opportunity to provide this service. Decided to give them another try. Upon arriving before the store opened for an 8:00 am appointment today, Ricardo Figueroa came out to the car and again apologized, even though he was not the employee involved. Both James and Ricardo seemed to genuinely regret that we had had a bad experience and were eager to rectify the situation. Ricardo quickly got our car in and the service was completed in an hour. Although we realize a phone call is standard procedure when a complaint is received, we felt that both James and Ricardo were genuine in their attempt to show that Pep Boys cares about their customers. Today Ricardo Figueroa exemplified what customer service is all about. Because of Ricardo Figueroa and James, we have given Pep Boys a 5-Star Rating and will return for future automotive needs. read more

Been here several times and just wanted to say that the customer service is great i like how the cashier greet people on their way in. very friendly and always smiling. i was looking for a part i had ordered and i had came to pick it up a nice lady named Tanya ask me if she could assist me in anything i told her a came in for a pick she right away went and got my part and took it to counter and checked it for me to verify it was the correct one. Its always great to walk in and have help right away. i just want to thank everyone at pep boys for all they to to make it easier for us to get what we need. We have done business with Pep Boys over the years and have always been totally satisfied. Today was no exception! Our point of contact Jose Jauregui went above and beyond to meet all our needs. We did shop around and felt the other garages we checked would have charged for work that was unnecessary. One place actually wanted to charge over $86 to change the brake light bulbs! Needless to say I didn't know that was an issue and changed them myself for less than $7. I will admit in the past I have been dupped by a mechanic, shame on me, but I have never left Pep Boys feeling that way. These guys are nothing but absolute SAINTS! I live 7 hours away & my head gasket blew right there in Yuma as I Was passing through. Pep Boys had always been where I went for auto care, because of the quality service and guaranteed work. However, Raul and his mechanics were able to find out what was wrong with my vehicle and patiently waited while I got the money together to fix it. I really, honestly, do not know what I would have done if this would have happened any where else. But Raul's patience and understanding has solidified to me the Pep Boys brand. I have recently brought my car to pep boys in yuma for the first time. I was extremely happy and very impressed by the young man who greeted me. Joseph was extremely patient and helpful when discussing getting my car serviced. He called me when the car was ready and even did not perform a service when he said that he checked all of the fluids and they were at a great level. Lots of places would have performed the service anyways. Joseph was very friendly and extremely knowlegable about the services that he was selling and was very personable at the same time. On a road trip from California to New Mexico on Saturday; 112 degrees at 2:00 in the afternoon as we got to Yuma and the car will not start. To be honest I would never have gone to Pep Boys for a repair but they were the only shop open. Without my prompting they diagnosed the alternator was bad - i had already determined that too. They were quick and reasonable. No added parts (like the serpentine belt) just what was needed. Oh, a 2004 Lexus RX330. We made it to Phoenix that night. I'm confident we will be home tomorrow. Sounds like this business is taking advantage of the fact that they're in a location where there's not many choices. How can you refuse service to a woman and a child, recommend they get back on the road with non-reliable transportation. I guarantee I will not be stopping at Pep Boys due to this type of service.
