Called in for a delivery order while staying at a local hotel. I ordered an XL 2-topping pizza with pepperoni and sausage, lemon pepper wings, a brownie and a slice of NY style cheesecake. The pizza was spot on, hot, fresh and included extra Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. I was surprised that the chicken wings were baked instead of deep fried, but regardless, they were delicious, hot, fresh and seasoned perfectly. The desserts were where the one star deduction came into play. The "NY Cheesecake" was not what they have pictured and advertised. (See Pic comparison) It was obviously just a piece of frozen cheesecake, something like Sarah Lee maybe and still partially frozen in the center. And the brownie I received was also different than advertised, as it appears to actually be a smaller portion of a cheesecake brownie? ‍ Still, they were not bad, the tastes were pretty good, just not what I was expecting based on their website pictures and descriptions. read more

Yelp really needs half stars....because I really wanted to give this place only 2.5 rather than 3....but I digress. Let's start from the phone order..... I had a $5.00 off coupon that they wouldn't accept because you had to order online and had to pay with a credit card. Well, I'm a server....I have cash....guess they value cash less than credit. Whatever. I ordered their Philly Cheesesteak (for my husband), the Grilled Chicken Salad with ranch and a piece of tiramisu (both for me). As soon as I saw the salad I was super disappointed and didn't even want to eat it. First, it was all crappy iceberg, and the menu said it came with mozzarella cheese but mine has yellow (I'm assuming cheddar) cheese. And a TON of it. (See photo) Upon further inspection, I noticed they got lazy with the chicken, too. It was not freshly grilled chicken....it was the store bought, pre-cooked/prepackaged, unseasoned, flavorless, colorless (except for the fake grill marks lol) chicken. And then there was the ranch. Nasty, cheap, tasted and looked like the off-brand dollar store crap. NOT WORTH THE $8 I PAID!!! Total crap. My husband's cheesesteak was pretty scrumptious, however. Bread was crunchy and chewy....good amount of cheese and onions/peppers...could have used a little more meat, but over-all it was worth the $8 I paid for it. I'd order this (and only this) from here again! And it's around a foot long. Lastly, the tiramisu was ok. It's your typical pre-made, frozen and thawed tiramisu. Nothing special....just ok...not worth $4. Haven't had their pizza, but I don't think I'll be trying anything else on this menu. Customer service and quality of food, over-all was just crap. I think I'll stick with Nino's. They're cool people and their food never disappoints. read more

I placed a phone (delivery) order for 2 large calzones... requesting the removal of the sausage, and requested the addition of mushrooms (which I was charged extra for)... and got neither. After delivery, I discovered that the calzones were both their house-standard order calzone and not what I originally ordered. After calling them and explaining the situation, I was offered either replacement of the calzones and redelivery, or that they'll just readjust my charge (minus the extra charge for the mushrooms) and refund the difference... So, I opted for the latter; because I didn't want to get the revised calzones with more than just the requested mushrooms. Ordered via grub hub and realized after I submitted it that I'd forgotten drinks! Being stuck in a hotel room that's not good. Called back to try to add to the order and the girl on the phone was rude, flippant, and put me on hold for over 5 minutes before picking back up, telling me I could only order in cash, and then hanging up on me. I called back and asked why I couldn't use a card over the phone and she relented. Worst customer service I've experienced in a while. When my delivery came, the drinks were nowhere to be found. The only reason this isn't a one star review is that the driver was super sweet and told me he'd make sure the charge was voided. Whoever that girl is she shouldnt be allowed near a phone. THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW: It's my understanding this business closed temporarily to remodel and reorganize. I did visit the business once prior to the reopen and the customer service and food was satisfactory, a decent value for the money. I did read some of the older reviews prior to the reopen and it appears there was a reoccurring theme in the reviews of poor customer service and junior mistakes that shouldn't have happened, most likely the result of poorly trained and/or poorly behaved ex-employees. The apparent cases of poor customer service etc. prior to the reopen appear to be systemic, rather than isolated cases, so in my opinion management is mostly to blame, as well as certain employees. But that was then and this is now. The other day I received a flier at my residence, and I thought, oh, I remember this place; I'd like to try their customer service and food again. I dine and eat out quite a bit. I fancy myself sort of a pizza connoisseur, so I'm always game to try a new pizza or a new and improved pizza, so I visited the store location in person. I walked in the door and was greeted by a pleasant, friendly, professional man at the counter. I believe the new manager and/or owner. Due to my personal desires and health challenges, I'm fairly particular about my food choices, so I tend to exasperate those who take my order, unless they have a firm commitment to good customer service. That said, knowing my specific food desires and needs, I have my act together when I order, so as to be respectful and considerate to the business, especially during their prime time business hours of 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. or lunch time rush. I believe the willingness to respectfully answer my questions about basic food preparation and the patience of the nice gentleman who took my specific order proved he has a solid commitment to good customer service. I know you're thinking, if I have health issues, why am I ordering "comfort food." Well, it's my opinion you may eat comfort food without any serious health consequences, provided you don't eat it every day and every meal, and most importantly it's made homemade/from scratch, using natural ingredients, as much as possible or entirely, rather than processed foods, which are usually high in sodium and contain certain not so healthy preservatives. I don't know if all their menu choices are homemade/from scratch, so you'll have to do your own research. I ordered a thin crust, medium pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, a little extra sauce, Chicago cut and cooked golden brown. I left my usual somewhat generous gratuity and waited in my vehicle for my order to finish. See what I mean by particular? I digress. I also ordered the meatballs and sauce because I was told they are made homemade/from scratch in the shop. I received my order in 15 minutes or so, and to my surprise and delight it was delivered right to my vehicle by the nice gentleman who took my order. That was a plus, since I was dog tired from the hot day. I suppose my order was delivered to my vehicle because it wasn't very busy at the time or perhaps it's standard operating procedure. I signed up to receive occasional text promotions on my mobile phone, and by doing so I earned a 5.00 dollar discount on a 20.00 dollar purchase or more. This process took less than a minute. We had a few last words and parted ways and I headed home to try my catch of the day. The pizza was cooked and prepared just as I ordered, (a nice looking pizza may I add), it had great flavor and taste all around. The meatballs and sauce also had great flavor and taste. My order was a good temperature for my taste and a great value for the money. I don't know if you had a poor experience with this business prior to the reopen or not, but I recommend you give them another opportunity to earn your business. And if you had one or more great experiences in the past with this business, then make your new order now (during hours of operation of course) and try out the new and improved Pepe's on Overlake street in Northeast Dallas. The delivery guy sold it to someone else who might have taken advantage of a situation. Bottom line by the time I got from the 6th floor to the lobby via elevator. He was gone and I called management at the pizza shop. Wanted to remake it. Offered no discount or anything for my trouble after a 1hr 10 minute delivery time. Told me it would be another 30 minutes. Placed order thru GrubHub at 3:17 pm. Was quoted 30-40 minutes. At 4:20, I called to see what the hold up was. I was told it just came out of the oven and would be here asap. Finally arrived at 4:54! Three times longer than quoted. Pizza was great, cheese sticks were bad, brownie was a little dry but not horrible. Very unhappy about the wait and the lack of honesty when I called about it, but the driver was nice and the pizza was almost perfect (crust was more chewy than crunchy but I assume that's from sitting for a while after being made, since it took so long to be delivered). My friend and I just arrived in Dallas, after a 15 hour drive I wanted some food delivered to me. Not asking for the best of the best, but decent. Spent $30 dollars to have a few items delivered. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but everything was cold and items were forgotten. When calling, they could not refund my money and did not apologize. All they could do was include those items in my next order. Thanks, but no thanks. Will not be ordering again, even if it means extra driving time.
