This is a pretty decent spot to stay. Rooms typically have a nice view and are on high floor. Casino practices social distancing and limits players at tables. They require that you wear a mask throughout only removing to it "eat drink or take a drag." There are plenty of signs that remind you of the aforementioned. Upon arrival there was a LONG line for the elevators as only four people per elevator was allotted. ALSO three of the sox elevators were not working. We stood in line for 10-15 minutes just waiting to get into an elevator. Once inside elevator it made stops on other floors where people were waiting for an elevator with space to get in. Needless to say making the elevator ride a long haul. Rooms were mostly clean and did not smell of smoke. I decided to take the stairs down/up to the 12 floor verses the elevator ride. I was able to take them down with no problem. However when I queried SEVERAL staff how to access staircase going up- ALL of them said I couldn't do so. Puzzling- so I can take the stairs down but within three hours the stairs up have vanished...? Nonetheless after a few minutes of wondering hallways by my lonesome I found the staircase-and I don't even work at Peppermill. Lastly, We noticed our tub had some stains in it and asked front desk to send up room service or provide new room. They sent room service- the lady came to clean it and it looked exactly as it did before she came except smelled of cleaning solution. Another puzzle. I subtract two stars as staff is ill informed of the layout of the casino, tub was dirty yet "cleaned" but still dirty. read more

After changing to a new room via the front desk, we received follow-up from a few different people regarding the incident. We were then relocated to a very beautiful room in a different part of the hotel. Although the 2nd room was very clean and had no sign of insects, Melinda the Director of Hotel Services wanted to ensure that we were completely comfortable with our stay and therefore offered us this option. We were very satisfied with this and truly appreciated her concern. We believe that this was an isolated incident and were told after the initial report that the room would be taken out of service to address the issue. Peppermill is a lovely resort, very nice rooms and amenities. The Spa is fabulous and the Steakhouse is really great as well. Other than the initial incident we were highly satisfied with our stay here and really appreciated the fact that the Director went above and beyond to address our concerns and make our stay wonderful. Based on the overall excellent service that we received from the Director and others we would definitely return to Peppermill in the future. read more

Not worth it at all. I understand that COVID has placed a lot of restrictions, but this resort is using it as an excuse to cut costs. They cannot service my room and have placed me on a waiting list with no guarantees of getting my room cleaned, but I see the lady cleaning other rooms. So because of COVID you can service some rooms but not all?! Seriously. This service becomes important when you're stuck in your room and can't do anything. All spa amenities including pool/hot room/sauna are closed. They closed the resort pools using high winds as an excuse but it was beautiful warm weather to lounge and at least soak in the sun. All the restaurants are booked. So save your money and stay home! I will never stay here again. Worst experience ever! Update: I am very impressed by the management team and that they personally reached out. Sometimes all you need is that one person to show they care and provide you with great service to turn things around. This is my favorite resort in Reno so it was disheartening to have had such a bad experience, but will go back again one day. read more

The Terrace Lounge at the Peppermill is a great place to stop and relax or meet friends. They have outside table seating or plenty of comfortable chairs on the inside. Close to the new banquet center so a nice place for a great Whiskey or Bourbon and a private conversation. A great happy hour with 1/2 off all small bites. The Peppermill is one Reno's finest casinos. A first class poker room, top end restaurants and outstanding gaming all go together to make this one of - if not THE - best in town. There is plenty of parking and the staff is always friendly and courteous. They are fairly generous with free play and comps. I've never stayed in the hotel, so I can't really comment on that, but I've heard it's great. Check out the Peppermill when you are in Reno. read more

I would be very surprised if you don't see a spike of COVID infections after this weekend because of the Peppermill's lack of care. We have been coming to the Peppermill 3-4 times a year for the past 7 years. I don't think we'll go back. We booked our visit thinking they had safety measures in place to make the resort safe. They severely fell short, and I do feel our safety was very much compromised The hotel was booked to maximum capacity. That's a lot of people. The lines to check in were long, and there was no social distancing. People were lining up to get in and out of elevators. The place was jam packed- I have never seen it so full. There machines and tables were filthy, and there was no one cleaning them at all. The plexi was full of dirty fingerprints. There were zero precautions taken except the installation of plexi that was dirty. We saw no employees there cleaning anything. When we went up the elevator, someone was coughing on people, leaving over the side, purposely trying to do this. A security guard just watched. I tried to give feedback politely as we checked out and was met with a "sorry you feel that way". The night before, we were at the El Dorado: immaculately clean, social distancing was in place, people wore masks. It was great. Stay there instead. read more

When I booked the room for 6 nights, I reserved it under a Corporate Credit Card. When I checked in I was told that because my name didn't appear on that card, I would need to pay with another. I told them to use the card that was on file. They wouldn't do it. I had to pay with my own card $1514.90 Now I need to have the paperwork for my employer to reimburse me. The Peppermill is stingy when it comes to comps for more serious gamblers. After one night they were way up on me and I asked a host for dinner $$. They refused and said I could charge it to the room and it would be reviewed when I left. I was down 5 digits so this wasn't a small amount. I lost on a previous visit as well and didn't ask for anything. I was truly shocked by their response and decided to check out a day early. I've received much more for gambling less at other casinos. This has been another terrible experience here at Peppermill. The couple next door to our room last night were super loud!! Again we called hotel security and no one ever showed up! The night before the couple were having a heated argument with door slamming and we hear the lady crying once again we called hotel security twice and nothing happened. They never showed up! When it was brought to the hotel staff downstairs they could really help either! I'm not understanding any hotels has security if nothing is being done when guest calls with a concern! As for the room, the room was ok. There was hair in the tub, a hole in the wall and a crack in the ceiling. The ac is at 65 degrees but the room still feels warm. We ate at oceano the food was good. But the host staff was super rude! A lot of eye rolls and they did not seem to be happy with their job. Not sure if we will ever come back here! We loved Peppermill, we tend to come every summer with our kids. But this is super concerning. read more

Wonderful place to stay in Reno! Fast and easy check in. We stayed for seven nights after Christmas and through the New Year. The double king suite in Tuscany Tower was beautiful, exceptionally clean, and mostly quiet overnight. (*A few neighbors slammed their doors - enough to rattle your teeth! Thankful it was earlier hours and only two days.) Room service was prompt, hot, and delicious. The restaurants were awesome additions, with multiple choices. We ate at different restaurants at almost every meal. Exception: Buffet. Long wait, price/quality mismatch. 5 people $150.00. The steak house was pricier, but with exceptional service, was well worth it. Spa was fabulous! Lots of soothing/relaxing choices. Gambling was entertaining, won some/lost some. Lots going on here! Great hotel and casino. It was the perfect 1 night get away from the Bay Area, CA. And we left with more money than we came with so that makes it even better. I prefer this hotel over the bigger and more popular, Grand Sierra hotel. Peppermill was perfect for our stay. We came for the sports betting, and to play at the tables. My favorite table games are baccarat, roulette, craps, and blackjack. And free drinks while you play! Woohoo! Hotel room was nice, but we weren't in there other than to sleep. Didn't get a chance to check out the pool but I'll definitely be doing that next time, maybe we'll have to stay for more than 1 night. read more

I've never received a free room after my 10 years of playing here. Altogether I've probably lost 20,000$ here and I am still only a bronze member. I emailed them the other day regarding comps being short for playing a straight binge of 10-15 hours, and saw they only had me on the system for 6. I recieved no response after telling them to check their cameras through email. To make things worse, they are bad at recording your losses. I looked at my loss statement and only the slot machines track you on point, I only play blackjack tables. They do not keep track of your losses, so let's say you go in with $10,000, or even win that amount altogether over the year and cuts you even, they wont track that all if you buy in a few hundred here and there, so coming tax season you will get taxed for you going even at the end of the year. I was playing my biggest hands today and the bartenders kept sending me sparkling water(2 times) even after changing waitresses by moving tables to avoid it happening again. Order a vodka red bull all night and you will see what I'm talking about. I have no complaints about the staff, cool people and not to brag but I'm very well known. It's just sad to see my card at bronze due to poor tracking after being such a loyal customer and losing everytime and I'd have been taxed for my winnings if I broke even. I even bring friends to gamble here instead of GSR or Atlantis, the only sure way to get a high tier card level is to play slot machines. Not cool at all, I cant imagine how much comps I've missed out on. Good place to have friendly dealers, and staff, they are so good I tip 80% of my hands. Just not a place to go if you want to play cards and get fair comps. read more

I've got a strained relationship with the Peppermill, and it goes back a long ways, but my last visit may be a road to fixing our relationship. Prior to the relatively recent addition we checked in, enjoyed the location, shopped for Christmas gifts, and wrapped them in the room. It was a nice getaway close to the shopping that we liked to do, and this is about 15 to 18 years ago. About five years ago we checked in due to having an early flight the next day, but it proved to be anything but restful. The front desk gave another guest, who had consumed far too much alcohol, a key to our room. So, we contact the front desk, he leaves, and we attempt more sleep, figuring they'll be some sort of apology in the morning. Now remember, we're heading to the airport to fly across the country and there is not a lot of time. They guys at the front desk did nothing. I'm thinking they might have wanted to say, 'thank you' or please forgive my mistake, or something. They didn't offer me anything, and so I have conducted my own private boycott. I've not been back to the Peppermill in years, until the other night. There was a banquet that I went to, and it was a nice event. It was in the Capri room, the table was set very well, and the servers did their job in a professional fashion. It was a three course meal, starting with a spinach salad. The main course consisted of a piece of salmon and chicken served next to rice with a carrot and a piece of broccollini. The desert was an apple tart. Now remember, this is a banquet, and all 300 plus people were getting the same meal. It can't be easy to have all of them come out the same, tasty, and looking good, and so please know that I thought the food tasted good, looked good, and was served well. In Reno there are a number of very nice, efficient, clean hotels to choose from, and after nearly two decades it's time for me to forgive and move on. The banquet I had the other night was a nice opportunity for me to do that, and so I will now, again, consider the Peppermill for my Reno needs. I can see why this is aaa 4 star diamond award This is reminiscent of the Venetian hotel in Vegas Italian galore, air smells lightly of fragrant perfume, which some may find to be sickening. Standard room here is only 1/4 size of Venetian Even with small space, the ceilings is not too low or popcorn filled. Rather framed by a nice dark crown molding tray. Heck even the TV is also granted with the same molding. Guest floors are decorated with paintings like a grand Italian palace. Then you see the wierd non handicap friendly access stairway on a floor. Bed is wonderful at stiffness of 7/10 Bathroom shower is adorned with blue marble like back tile splash. Quality amenities. But no free water like all other hotels in Reno I stayed at. Standard room is super small and just big enough for a king bed and had a view of the parking lot... Yuck But TV was playing scenic Italian photos slide show get get that ugly parking window view out of mind. So far this has got to be Reno best casino hotel to date. read more

The Peppermill is my favorite Reno casino. I prefer the Tuscany Tower, but the the regular tower rooms are so much more convenient from the gaming floor. Staff is friendly, and the rooms and casino are upscale and very clean. Every visit there are new machines to play. Their Spa is a wonderful indulgence, but definitely plan ahead and book early! I love Cafe Milano for their low key dining, and their prime rib and burgers are delicious. We almost never venture off property, but we do like the jacketed baked potatoes at Ruby River across the street. read more

Just visited the Peppermill the last couple of days to beat the CA cabin fever. When visiting Reno, we usually opt for the Peppermill as it has everything you need in one place plus we take advantage of the players card rewards with the free nights on occasion. However, this last stay was a bit mediocre starting with check-in. The representative was courteous and definitely took her time to take care of us despite the long line behind us - I appreciate that. Was looking forward to the spa suite upgrade (charges applicable) but unfortunately they were sold out; instead we get upgraded to the tuscany tower suite with a pool view. The room - completely awful! The room is overwhelming with decor, no lighting what so ever, and small! The bathroom feels bigger than the actual room (not literal). Called downstairs and explained we were not satisfied with this upgrade, after all it is not free. There is an ever higher cost to upgrade to a bigger room which we did not mind to feel more comfortable. My partner does the switcharoo downstairs and was told the additional charge upgrade would have been free had we not called over the phone instead of in-person. Why would someone even say that? Somehow they were able to comp the additional fee despite the comment but the catch was that it was a smoking room - WORST decision ever! At that point, the experience was far from seamless and a big waste of time. Now for dinner, we ate at Océano in the past and was delicious! But this time, we just wanted a quick bite to get the night started so we chose Cafe Milano - I will post a separate review on their business page but that place = trash. Did not take advantage of the pool as they were at max capacity - make reservations! Also, there is currently no valet available. As far as COVID, social distancing is not really practiced but masks are required at all times and I noticed employees cleaning around. Overall, it was an okay trip and definitely will visit "The Row" over the Peppermill for our next trip for the array of things to do especially during these times. read more

The peppermill is our go-to staycation destination. We chose to stay in the ember suite but the gentleman at the check in desk offered to upgrade us to the tuscany suite. thinking that the tuscany suite would be a true upgrade we said yes, upon arriving to the room my husband immediately disliked the room decor and layout and it looked like a rundown renaissance room but not in a good way. The room was simply a king sized bed against the wall with an entirely empty space near the window which looked like there should be a couch or something but there was nothing. the jacuzzi bathtub that was offered in the tuscany suite was run down and not luxurious at all. (we stay at cesar's palace when in las vegas and this wasn't even close to their tuscany feel). I decided it would be best to go back down and request to be placed in our original ember suite. the pictures are of the ember suite and we loved this room. it was modern, stylish and much more our style. Just wishing we were told the style differences between the rooms since the ember suite was CLEARLY the better room and our original booking. read more

Where do I start? I've been coming here for a week nearly every month for the last three to four years. Was invited by email to upgrade to a Florence Suite this week and it was a great decision. From Valet to Front Desk and ordering room service, top notch customer service all the way! The Terrace Bar is great for a drink and 'Small Bites' while gaming, seated around the Bar. Servers there also unmatched. Also, Biscottis Cafe has very tasty meals and attentive service. Looking forward to the rest of the week and will endeavor to try Bimini Steakhouse for the first time. Our room was outstanding we had a Room in the Tuscany tower, the Tuscany sweet. Beautiful View from the 16th floor and great amenities including a Jacuzzi tub and shower and TV in the bathroom (although I admit we didn't use it for TV). The pool area is beautiful with a waterfall in the middle and a waterfall cascade cascade off the ledge. We went to the Milanos restaurant there and the food was really good... Too much food for one person. Split a meal for sure. One thing I didn't like was that most of the people who helped us couldn't manage a smile on Bing it's the hospitality business and in the middle of the Covid crisis you would think they would go out of their way to be kind and friendly. Kudos to Irma who was just lovely, kind friendly funny and no I'm not a friend of hers. She is the benchmark of what service and hospitality look like. We will definitely be back next time we're in Reno. read more

I came to the spa here and I had the best massage I have ever had by Fran. She has been working as a massage therapist for over 10 years and it was completely amazing how I just melted onto the table. The Quite room is my favorite place here but please don't pass up a massage with Fran. She's amazing and I Highly recommend!! I will also say that when I came, I came with a friend and she also got Fran after me and she LOVED her massage as well. Overall I recommend the Spa if you want to unwind and destress. read more

We checked in on Friday night and checked out on Tuesday. After we came back from dinner and went to our room, the toilet was making a loud buzzing sound. We immediately called front desk and was told the engineer will come up to our room. I called back again after about 20 mins because no one showed up. There was 3 engineers showed up and said the water was not refilling up that's why. It was around 1 am but sounds like there was construction going on on top of our room. Monday and Tuesday was worst. It was too early in the morning when the construction was being done. What I don't understand is why put a client in a room where a construction will be done on top of it or next to it?. It doesn't matter when you have flyers in each room about the renovation. Maybe you should do renovations far from your guest room. Can you imagine having a suite room with renovation going on that so loud?. read more

10/27/18 - It was our second Annual Girl's Weekend and although we did not stay here, it was a very good evening, we all had fun!!!! I am not a gambler, but managed to put $40.00 in the Wheel of Fortune, and got $42.00 + back. I did notice that when you ask for a drink it comes back rather slow. They were getting great tips from gamblers, but slow coming around. Some people gave up and went to the bar and got their drinks. None of the ladies won any money, sorry to say. Their was one complaint and my cousin ordered a light snack from my favorite restaurant at the Peppermill--Cafe Milano; to my surprise the snack was really light for almost $18.00. It looked like she got two crab Rangoon's and two egg rolls, for almost $18.00; that was a rip-off for sure. Last year we actually ate dinner there and her whole meal was only $14.00 + tax. read more
