A visit to Chicago is not complete without a visit to Pequod's for deep dish. It's our favorite and we love the place. Place is great. Service is wonderful and fast. And the food is just amazing. Go and enjoy.

4++ this place was highly recommended to me from a friend who grew up in the Chicago area now lives in Los Angeles. He says it's the place where the locals eat in Chicago. I definitely had to make a stop here when I was in town for a beer festival a few years back. Now because we were in town for a limited time, we were trying to make things more efficient by getting takeout and bringing it over to a brewery close by. That said, I hope my next visit here is to actually dine in and experience the vibe and service more. The ordering process and takeout process was pretty easy. I have to say. The people were friendly. As for the pizza it's really good. The slices are really big and thick so i could only eat one or two tops. As good as the pizza was, I have a feeling it might be better if you actually sat at the restaurant ate it completely fresh. I'll be visiting Chicago again soon, so hopefully I can make a stop here.

The pizza here is delicious! Super cheesy and extremely filling, I love the sauce and topping ratio is perfect! The pizzas are very hardy, two slices are plenty filling. Great option if you are looking for an iconic meal in the area!

Some of the best pizza I've had in a long time! Don't know that I'd consider it deep dish, more like Detroit style, but truly delicious pizza. Cheese corners were also super tasty. Definitely don't miss this spot!

Pequod's certainly took a popularity bump following The Bear's plug for their deep dish pizza...and rightly so. Their deep dish is amazing. Buuuuuuuuut......... Locals will tell you that it's their thin crust pizza that is the real show stopper. So it's your call. Your options are: 1) Tell your friends that you had deep dish pizza at Pequod's for them to ohh and ahh. 2) Go to Pequod's and get the thin crust and rep like a pro. 3) (my suggestion) go twice and try both and THEN tell your friends the pro tip about the really good stuff. Not for nothin', the staff there were so amazing and patient considering the constant flow of the people and pizzas. Even with the chaos, it's a great place for families (even with little kids), and groups. This place is a winner. As we say, "I recommend this venue without hesitation (or reservation - pun intended)."

Pequod's Pizza was quite a wait, even though it was very early in the day, so I highly recommend a reservation. I was fine waiting for a spot at the bar, however. Speaking of the bar, I got myself a pint of the Golden Road Mango Cart, which did have a fragrance of mangoes. I was a bit annoyed the bartender asked for my ID thinking I was a high schooler (I guess white people in Chicago generally don't have any meaningful relationship with Asians compared to other major cities because this wasn't a one time thing - and I've been to a lot of cities), but at least he tried to smooth it out with a joke. Fine, moving on. I got myself a personal deep dish pizza, since this joint is known for their caramelized crust, although I did wish I got myself a small instead so I can have it delivered in the pan itself. Maybe next time, but I did eat the whole thing. The sauce was more on the bitter and acidic side. The toppings aren't layered and hiding underneath cheese like some other places, which is fine, but I did think it could've used more mushrooms and a more even distribution of toppings considering how thick the bread is. Overall it was worth going out of my way to try it once, as it was highly recommended to me, I'd say it takes #2 so far of all the pizza places I've tried in Chicago. Granted, I didn't have time or didn't come with anyone to share a bunch of things, but maybe next time.

4 star review as we ordered delivery 2 hours ahead for a pan and deep dish. However upon arrival we received 2 pan pizzas - disappointing as we were leaving Chicago that evening. Overall, the thin crust pizza was quite good! There was a hefty amount of pepperoni and the sauce was excellent . Just wish we got to try the deep dish

As a New Yorker, I love good pizza but I also understand New York pizza and Chicago pizza are 2 very different things. So many people referred me to other local spots and it's something about those places that didn't sit well. So after flying in and looking for something good and simple we ordered a small pie and salad for delivery. At first I thought it looked a little dark, but once biting into it was delicious and flavorful. The salad was also hands down a winner with the garlic dressing.

Pequod's is one of THE classic spots for a deep dish in Chicago and we were able to snag at 8:30 PM reservation just a few days before Friday night. I will note that we ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes before actually being seated and the pizzas have up to an hour wait if the restaurant is busy, so we actually got our pizza at about 9:30 PM. Cheese Corners: Some extremely standard triangle shaped cheese bites. Did come out piping hot with a good crunch and cheese stretch, which was nice, but definitely felt like a Sysco-esque appetizer. Deep Dish Pizza: The crust actually had almost a nice crisp at the bottom and a ton of cheese. Tomato sauce had amount of sweetness and they're very generous with the toppings. Overall, if you don't go crazy on the toppings, it's a solid deal and definitely a top tier deep dish experience. Just make sure you have a reservation and that you aren't in a rush.

Quick take: Best Chicago deep dish Omg! I normally do not like deep dish pizza. This pizza is soooo good! Service was amazing. Learned from our server that the rolling pizza cutter is for the thin crust pizzas. They use the patchouli to cut the deep dish pizzas. We ordered a sausage and mushrooms pizza. The pizza sauce is so good! Loved the toppings. The crust wasn't too thick. It tasted very good. Highly recommend this spot if you are in Chicago.

    Lots of toppings!

I ordered a personal size and my goodness, that is a lot of pizza! I appreciated the generous portion of onions and jalapeños on the pie. I got it well done and the crispy crust was the best part. It's definitely a large portion of pizza and enough for two people to share. Be patient when ordering because it takes about an hour!

We came to Pequod's based on recommendations from locals. Although we waited 45 min for our pizza to come out, the pizza tasted outstanding and was the perfect portion for two people. While we were waiting, our server was also very generous and offered to charge our phones for us. We also got draft beers, which were very yummy and refreshing, and a great pair with the pizza.

Before my trip to Chicago, a coworker told me, "You must get Pequod's while you're out there." While we had a packed itinerary, I made sure to fit in time to and I'm glad I did! I've had deep dish pizza before, but I was not prepared for this - the real deal. Pequod's was the right choice. We ordered two pies - a half vegetable and half plain pie, and a meatball pie. Honestly, we should have just got one pie because it was so much. It was delicious, but it was A LOT! We had leftovers for days.

The most recent visit last week included 11 other family members who were "first timers" that had trusted my recommendation for the good stuff only to be disappointed by both the temperature and small amount of both cheese/sauce. We shared several large, medium and personal pies across the menu and I honestly can't say a single one measured up to the standard they have set for decades. They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in. It's both a starter and a survival tool. A reservation is non‑negotiable unless you enjoy contemplating your own mortality in a weekend crowd. The wait times can stretch so long you could starve to death before your name is called -- and the regulars will nod knowingly as they step around your skeleton. Plan ahead. Amazing flavor & good foldable slices with excellent undercarriage! Highly recommend this place & the service was great as the pizza came fast! The place looked like a good place to pick up a slice from the pictures other people posted online. If you're looking for a NY style pizza then you've found it at Prince Street! We can't wait to go back & enjoy the other types of pizza they have!

I'm sure they're cranking the pizzas out as fast as they can, but just helps cut down on your "in-person" line. Hot honey is so good, a bit oily, but man I love their square Detroit style. 10/10
