This place is amazing! I'm obsessed with coming here every time I'm in town. I took my mom here to celebrate her bday! I wanted to get balloons but we had just left a memorial so I didn't have time. I came to town to celebrate death and life all in one trip! Sadly The environment is nice and clean. The seating is too close to the next party and a bit tight to get into if it's busy.. They certainly didn't consider those human who are, not a certain size in frame when adding seating here! The chairs are definitely not BBL friendly for those of you who invested. Respectfully! Just looking out for those humans! Side note: I've once witnessed someone at another table having an issue with comfort which is why I seating into the equation! As far as, for my party, we're good and could fit comfortably into the chairs and tables so that's where " minding my business" falls into place. Service: Service was amazing! Our waitress was on top of all of her tables! Our waitress was a professional, in which you could tell that she's been doing this job for years which she also mentioned. If I recall, she's been waitressing for over 30yrs! This was my 3rd time eating here within the year and each time, my food was delicious with no complaints! This time, I had the potato and steak skillet which were yummy with the perfect spices, portion and gravy. I look forward to returning to MN next year so that, I can return here for breakfast/lunch each time! There's plenty of parking onsite. This is in a great location with plenty of shopping, hotels, the Mall of America and more! If you're ever in MN, I recommend you checking this establishment out! It's also a great place to come and read or study while you're eating! Thanks for such awesome service! Thanks for helping to celebrate my Mom's Birthday with me! Our waitress deserves 7yrs off with full pay and benefits... and throw in a beach trip with all expenses paid for her as well!

The staff is friendly and helpful. The decor is what you expect from a Perkins restaurant. The food is the quality that you would expect from a Perkins restaurant. They have a nice menu with weekly and daily special to help with the cost.

This was my first time going to a Perkins in over 10 years. My group was looking for a place to go that was open late (past 1 AM) and this was the only place that was available. The dining floor was really clean and still had the classic look that it had 10 years ago and it took about 10 minutes for them to prepare a table for our group 8 (there were 3 other groups at the time). I was sad to hear that they no longer had a "Late Night Bites" menu since I was necessarily looking for a whole meal but decided to check out the Monte Cristo Pancake Flip. While the others wanted the Magnificent 7. The arrived less than 10 minutes from when we ordered and the food was okay. Seemed a bit bland but for being the only 24/7 option in the area, I truly can't complain. Do I plan to come back? Only if I'm with a large group of people past 12 AM looking for food

The inside is beautiful and made for a really nice dining experience. We started with the Eichten's cheese curds, and they were excellent. They were soft on the inside, some had a great cheese pull, and the spicy dipping sauce paired really well with them. I ordered the Flat Iron Frites. The steak was seasoned well, cooked nicely, and didn't have much fat, which I appreciated. The fries were crispy and came with house-made ketchup. I usually don't even like ketchup, but this one was actually really good. My partner ordered the deviled eggs as his appetizer, and he enjoyed them so much he finished them in no time. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Shortcake Crème Brûlée, and it was fantastic. I've never had crème brûlée like that before. It was a unique twist on a classic dessert and ended the meal perfectly. The only small downside was that the complimentary water tasted clean and fresh. But it was warm instead of cold. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service made for a great experience, and I'd happily return. Glad i was able to cross this one off of my list.

There were still some things we really enjoyed, though, and I'm glad we gave it a try. We started with the French Onion Soup, which was one of my favorite parts of the meal. I loved that they used croutons instead of one giant piece of bread. Much easier to eat--no fighting with a giant bread raft to get to my soup! The flavor was really nice too. I had the Bolognese Pappardelle, which was good, and my partner really enjoyed his Hanger Steak. He also tried the Garlic Herb Mushrooms, but those weren't really his thing. I ordered the N.A. Lela Punch, and that one surprised me. I wasn't sure about it at first, but it grew on me as I drank it. Apparently we just needed a little time to get acquainted. Dessert was an adventure. I decided to try the White Chocolate Panna Cotta because I'd never had panna cotta before. It was beautifully plated, but this is also how I learned panna cotta has a Jell-O-like texture... and I do not like Jell-O. That's definitely a me problem rather than a criticism of how it was prepared. At least I can officially say I've tried panna cotta! I ended up trying the Crème Brûlée as well. Unfortunately, that wasn't my favorite either. I usually love crème brûlée, but I prefer the custard very smooth and creamy, and this one was thicker than I personally like. My partner had the Chocolate Molten Cake and thought it was okay, but it wasn't a favorite for him either. Overall, Lela had some definite highlights--the French Onion Soup, Bolognese Pappardelle, and Hanger Steak especially--but we also had a few misses. I can understand why other people really enjoy it; it just wasn't quite the restaurant for us. And hey, every restaurant adventure can't end with a new favorite. That's half the fun of trying them all!

We were coming from an appointment in Edina and assumed we'd be waiting for a while, but that wasn't the case at all. We walked in, I ran to the restroom, and they were already ready for us. The Edina location does feel a bit tight, I'm not sure why, but I would definitely recommend using the waitlist during peak times or you'll likely be waiting (there are several benches available to hang out on if you are waiting). The sourdough French toast is always my go-to, especially paired with their bacon. I should have gone with the short stack this time. That bacon is so good. I'm not sure were they get it from, but I'm a fan. Our food came out really fast. We were in and out in about 35 minutes. Typically, OPH is a five star experience, and based on the food alone, it absolutely still is. For me, the service fell a bit short this time. Both our server and others seemed a little off. For example, as we were leaving, I paused to let a server finish dropping off food at a nearby table. It was taking a bit, so I carefully moved past, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. She turned and almost ran right into me, and the look I got in return just felt off. That said, it was Mother's Day, so giving some grace. Just not quite the usual experience.

Be warned... a five minute ride from the airport set me back $23.60 plus a tip. When I arrived at the hotel there was an information packet waiting for me at the front desk. I went up to my room and unpacked. I then went down to Jake's Kitchen and had a burger. The room is a standard hotel room with a separate bath and vanity. There was a queen size bed and a huge flat screen television on the dresser opposite the bed. There was also a desk and a small sofa with an ottoman. I later found a small refrigerator concealed in the dresser. This would be my home for the next week. The hotel provided shuttle services to the campus where my training was taking place. Came here because of all the amazing reviews and the photos of the inside are so cute, yet everything was mediocre. Coffee - bad Chai latte - not good Food - mediocre, bland Service - blah and slow Decor - quaint, quirky and cute, really the only reason for the extra star Additionally, I ordered a dirty chai latte with 2 shots of espresso. He charged me the $6.50 for the latte listed on the menu, then $1.50 for one "Xtra Espresso Shot," then $4.00 for an "Espresso." When I questioned it, he brought the menu and tried to say it's $4.00 for an espresso so he was being nice by not charging $8.00 for the 2 add shots... BRO, you have a button ON THE REGISTER for "Xtra Espresso Shot" for a reason. You hit it twice for 2 add shots on the latte I'm already paying for. $3.00 for 2 add shots on a latte is reasonable, $5.50 is insane. Should have been $9.50 for a double dirty chai latte, he charged me $12.00 and thought he was being nice not charging $14.50. And it wasn't even good. Won't be coming back. Disappointed. I shouldn't even be surprised, but I was so shocked I am already writing this review right after we got home. This place is soooo overrated.
