I went to the Perkins restaurant in collierville TN near my home. It was really busy so I had to wait 10 to 15 minutes. When I was seated, I was asked straight away about my drink, Dr pepper of course . After looking throughout the menu, I selected the short stack of pancakes and biscuits and gravy. Talk about delicious, every close to my aunt's recipe. Here is the thing with tipping, I don't care if the food is good or bad just as long as my glass is full. If my glass is full, that cause for a good tip, if not you won't get one. read more

I have been coming to Perkins for 25 years of nothing but same great service and food. They have an excellent menu select when it comes to breakfast lunch and dinner. Perkins tends to keep their lobby and dining areas very clean as they have a hard working staff of servers and cooks who are aiming to please in making sure you have a pleasurable dining experience at Perkins. My favorite breakfast dish happens to be the tremendous 12. The chefs here are always on point. They prepped my eggs nice & fluffy my sausage was juicy and my pancakes were nice buttery and light. My dinner experience has been the same at this Perkins location too with my steak tips cooked the way I ordered them my gf's fish nice and flakey. My server that night was also friendly & attentive. I also enjoyed their baked goods and desserts. Their cookies are moist and their baked pies and pastries are excellent I love their eclairs and would recommend those to anyone with a sweet tooth. I would recommend this Perkins location to anyone looking for some early more or late night dining. It was not a good experience. The service was awful. And the food was just average nothing to write home about. It was kinda expensive too.

I ordered two sandwiches online to pick up at 11:30. I got there at 11:20 and the cook went back and got our meals. Very nice! When we got home about ten minutes later the sandwiches and onion rings were very hot and very good! Awesome service and awesome food! read more

Food was mostly as expected from Perkins, but i was pleasantly surprised by the pancakes. They were super fluffy. Only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the server had too many tables and our service lacked a little due to it. I asked for hot sauce which I never got and it took too long to get a refill. What's not to like about this place? Aside from the typical long lines and terrible parking... Ok, now to the good stuff. The staff is super friendly and the food comes out great 95 percent of the time. The other 5 percent would be their lack of knowledge on how to prepare a pouched egg for a true Eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce. This was by far the worst experience in dining I have received in a very long time. The hostess looked like she had no idea what she was doing and skipped over 3 couples in front of us. My server did not get our drinks. We had to remind her for them. Management must be hurting because this Perkins has never been this bad. Very disappointing. For the amount of money we are paying for drinks and food, we should at least try to get decent service or management needs new employees. My other review got deleted. read more

I'm giving 2 stars basically because of the food and the service. - The food is always good. It's not extraordinary or out of the world or anything but it's still good for the price and I've always enjoyed the breakfast. I definitely recommend getting an omelette. - The service is good, too. Always friendly and always looking to help out with any issue you might have. But now the bad stuff. The interior needs some major work. The carpet, ceiling tiles, chairs, tables, restrooms, and the waiting area. It's just dirty. Feels dirty and looks dirty, no matter where you go in the place. I realize this happens everywhere but a remodeling session is long overdue. Plain and simple, this place just needs some work. read more

I'm never enthusiastic about eating at a place that stinks like urine and dirty mop water when you walk in the door. The musty smell hits you right away then they tried to seat us at dirty booths. We went to one, then second one, finally a clean one on third try. Food is ok. Not great, but fills a hole. There are way better places to eat. read more

The wife and I tried out Perkins for the first time. We had the 3 piece sampler (double chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks), french toast and sausage, and the Frisco burger. Our server Tatum was very attentive and did a great job explaining the menu. Food was prepared quickly and was very tasty. We have a ton of leftovers for tomorrow. As soon as I walked in I knew it wasn't a place I wanted to eat, but instead of walking out I forged ahead. The kids burger looked really bad, and the mashed potatoes were dried out instant potatoes. We got charged for an adult drink in a kids cup even though it said it was included in the kids meal. My burger was ok at best, but it was at least better quality than the kids burger. I'll give this restaurant 2 stars because the waitress was really nice and hard working, but I'd rate it 1 star if the staff wouldn't of been so good. I won't be back, but I can at least say I tried it. read more

I really have had some hits and misses at this particular Perkins Restaurant. Saturday was a definitely huge miss. I have to say this was on management all the way. We had stopped at Collierville Perkins Friday for late breakfast. Everything great. While leaving we saw signs posted all over the place Friday and Saturday all you can eat catfish 13.99 4-10p. There is a sign on the front door that states this location closes at 8pm. Since it was 1:00pm when we left , we decided to come on Saturday night to have all you can eat Catfish. On Saturday we expected a wait since most people in the south love catfish. Upon arrival the parking lot was practically empty. We went in and the restaurant had only a handful of customers. I ask the young man is there something wrong with fish? He said we are usually a lot business. The hostess appeared and as she lead us toward a table I mentioned the catfish. She replied we don't have any. I was floored. She said she was sorry and we left. read more

I have been coming here for 22 years and have watched them remodel 4 times, the keep it modern clean and fresh. There are two servers that have been here for the entire 22 years, wow. That speaks to the operation, they just do it right. The menu is getting better with various steak tip dishes, fancy french toast and pancakes and the eclairs have even gotten better. Don't you just love that "free" pie Monday? As senior citizens, the free pie is a nice hook. We're mostly all on a budget and we like our dessert. But the free stuff is from all the old pies they didn't sell over the last week! Especially don't order the banana cream! If you ask why the bananas are nearly black and the pie filling is the consistency of buttermilk, they've evidently been told to say "oh we use really really ripe bananas". You mean rotten bananas? Really? Well if you buy a whole banana cream pie out of the case by the register, you sure won't find any really really ripe (rotten) bananas in them! The filling is firm and the bananas are fresh.
