We were looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast after church. We hadn't been in many, many years so we decided to stop by. We should have kept driving. It was filthy inside. The food was mediocre at best and service was extremely slow. It took probably 35-40 minutes to get our food after ordering. The server did tell us that they were short staffed in the kitchen. Our hashbrowns came out undercooked, the food was very greasy and just unappetizing. It was not a good experience and we will not be back.

It was not a good experience. The service was awful. And the food was just average nothing to write home about. It was kinda expensive too.

However, no impact to service generally. During our visit, there did seem to be something happening with the cocktails as several members ordered the same cocktail, but it was clear they were not made the same as the color and taste were very different. First time experiencing this issue and we did bring it to their attention. Starter: general tso's tso's cauliflower. Brunch: The honey hot chicken and waffles is my go to when I want a sweet and savory meal. The maple syrup is my favorite and really bring the dish together. Cocktail: raspberry Rita. Simple but delicious.

We were greeted at the door and seated promptly. The restaurant has a bustling commotion and an upbeat vibe inside. I ordered coffee and a juice and my mother ordered a coke. We put in our food order right away with our friendly server, and it was a fairly short wait before we had food on the table. Mom had a ham melt with Gruyère and tomato, served with potatoes. I had a Barbacoa beef breakfast bowl with eggs, black beans, pico, tortilla chips, ranchero sauce, shredded beef, and a lime crema. They were mindful of my avocado allergy, and the food was delicious. Reasonably priced, great service, a good atmosphere, and a good experience overall. Worth checking out if you're looking for breakfast in germantown.

The table was not wiped off, the water was out, and the trash was overflowing to the point it was piled so high that adding any more would tip out. I could hear them chatting the whole time in the back and whenever I walked up I would find one or two of them leaning against a wall or sitting down and she would help with whatever I asked but like I didn't see any of them come out to check the dining area at any point in the hour we were there with our friends. They'd come out to refill the water or to deliver food or to take my trash (but not empty the actual trash???) but never to like wipe down the tables or do any of the things I usually see people doing. It was odd. Also, weird question but why is there a mint dispenser that doesn't work? It doesn't have a sign. I don't care about the 50c and once I noticed how dirty it was I was concerned about eating anything that did come out- luckily nothing did because now I wonder how old those are... so uhhhh why is that there? One of the girls mentioned someone wouldn't remove it and that it was from "before" so I guess from whatever this place was previously? Anyway, the menu was also odd. They only had one that we could use at our table so our friends and I had to swap it back and forth. Some things were whited out, which is fine, but then there were things without prices next to them, which is not fine. I am not a big fan of surprises in pricing. The menu listed build your own options, but not prices next to things. I ended up picking some things for a burrito and having to ask what the price was before I committed. It ended up tasting fine and I even liked the salsa it came with. However, everyone in my party agreed that they did not like that aspect. It actually deterred my friends from ordering from that menu. I was also deterred but they were out of pesto so I couldn't get the turkey sandwich I wanted. They messed up my husbands order but fixed it, thankfully. But again, it was just odd. Instead of pepperjack cheese they sprinkled pepper on top and used jack cheese. The one girl apologized profusely. At the end of the day, there were just too many things that were odd or off-putting here to myself and my friends. We will be trying a different coffee shop next time they're in town.

The Toasted Yolk gave us a little bit of everything--some hits, some misses, and one bartender who…read moremay have found a new calling. Avocado Toast Let's start with what should be one of the easiest breakfast items on any menu. Avocado toast doesn't need much--fresh avocado, a squeeze of lemon or lime, cracked pepper, sea salt, roasted tomatoes, cilantro, and a little love. Unfortunately, mine arrived with chunky raw onions, a few tomatoes, and not much else. The bright flavors that make avocado toast shine were missing. The sourdough bread, however, was perfectly toasted and had a great texture. Eggs Both dishes were ordered with eggs cooked over hard. Both arrived over easy. That's a simple request that should have been easy to execute. Salmon Benedict Presentation was nice, but the seasoning department apparently took the morning off. Salmon naturally has great flavor, but it still needs something. A squeeze of lemon, a touch of cracked pepper, sea salt, fresh herbs--anything. The salmon was bland, and the hash brown casserole followed the same theme. Breakfast Potatoes We ordered potatoes with grilled onions and received potatoes topped with the same chunky raw onions that appeared on the avocado toast. Not exactly what was expected. Now for the stars of the show... the drinks. The Mimosa was delicious, refreshing, and exactly what brunch should be. The Sidecar deserves special recognition. When the bartender admitted they had to Google how to make it, I became a little nervous. Turns out I had no reason to be. That Sidecar was fantastic and easily the best thing that hit our table all morning. Whoever made it absolutely knocked it out of the park. Final Verdict The Toasted Yolk has potential, but the kitchen needs to become friends with seasoning. The ingredients were there; the flavor was not. A few simple additions--lemon, pepper, salt, herbs, and attention to cooking eggs correctly--would have dramatically improved the experience. Will I return? Yes. The drinks were excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant, and there's enough on the menu to give it another chance. Next visit, I'll be ordering something different and hoping the kitchen brings a little more flavor to the table.

The sweet salsa was a game changer for me. I never had it til I came here and it's a must have on your pupusas. When we first sat down, the owner came up to the table after our order was taken and asked if we wanted chips and guac.
